Well it is clearly a local hangout for a great reason - takeout window burgers and dogs, served with the right extras, along with the expected fries, onion rings and soda selections. Counter service is quick and competent. Bagged orders come with the right number of napkins and condiment packets (are you reading this McDonalds??!). They have drive up service, separate walk up window, and two small eating areas with picnic style tables, one indoor and one outdoor. It's a regular stop for many Montroseans and it's on Main Street in a converted old style gas station. This is just about as good as it gets for fast food on the Western Slope. I've been coming to Montrose for YEEEEARS, and this is the best food I've had in town, period. The Taco John's is one of the worst in CO, and McDonalds can't even figure out The Arches, but this place takes pride in what they do. The drive through was clean and friendly, the burger felt fresh, and the cheese fries were crispy and delicious. This is a must try burger joint. (Condiments on the burger are al little aggressive, could be better with finer cut onions, smaller pickles, and thinner tomatoes... but still very good.) read more

Burgers are good, but staff needs better training and when mistake is made, the should compensate customer. Ordered a combo burger with onion rings. Received fries. When I went to change to fries they charged me $4 for rings. I had already paid for combo. I have no problem paying up charge for rings , but shouldn't have had to pay full price for them. Crash burger does it perfectly-that burger was juicy and a good amount of lettuce/tomato/onions and pickles (which's were all fresh and not soggy!) Just traveling through town and stopped for lunch. The outside really don't look like much but the burgers are a absolutely amazing! I got a double patty cheese burger and my partner got a triple with FIREHOUSE, on it which is basically pepperjack cheese, jalapeño and Sriracha. These are some well made burgers! I am so glad we found this place! We were passing through in our way to Telluride and the food was really good. The staff was friendly and helpful and the prices were reasonable. The burger was fresh and tasted like a homemade burger at a friends house. The chocolate shake was also pretty good. The only downside for me was the awkward layout and cutting through the drive through to get to the restroom (it's a remodeled old gas station so I can't be too hard on them I guess). Fabulous burger, perfect price! My hubs and and I were traveling through town headed toward the National Park and found this little gem. We each had a single burger and fries. BOTH for only $5.50. The meat was a good thickness and cooked perfectly. Two local couples asked us how we found our way to Crash Burger and congratulated us on finding the best burger in town. The rolls their hotdogs come on are like none you've ever seen on this side of the Mississippi. Get a hotdog with everything including pickles, pepper-jack cheese, and 1000 Island dressing...I'm telling you, it's insanely delicious. Go on the Monday and get free bacon.
