Customer service the clerk I dealt with was slow uninformed about the product whether or not the lids that come with the glasses I chose were in stock. First they were then they weren't then he was confused about whether I could order the lids thru the store to be delivered to me via their website. He said yes he would go it for me as I waited and tell me how much shipping was then after painfully long time he said it wasn't possible to order the items and ...... a Half hour later I asked to speak with someone more knowledgeable a manager. He brought his manager up snd the manager began to defend the incompetence of his employee taking no responsibility for his ignorance of their stock or website ordering procedures. I left after having wasted close to an hour yo no avail. Then the mall which was pretty empty. Had no down escalators or elevators in working order. It seems like a fire danger. No exits. I was instructed by an employee of another empty store to go out using the Bloomingdale's escalator. read more

Perhaps I caught them at an awkward time... the furniture section of this store was in a bit of disarray, as it looked like they were changing what was on display. Perhaps I'm also spoiled by just how much larger their Burlington store is. The inventory is definitely smaller and less varied here, and it looks like if you can't find what you want your only options are to order it or go to another store. This review is for the Crate & Barrel online rug sample service. I ordered two samples of the new Alvarez rug style, as I was trying to match an old Alvarez rug I have. I paid $60 for the two samples, expecting that I would receive a full refund when I returned them. I was unable to return them to a store near me, so I shipped them back using the return label provided by C&B. They subtracted $17 from my refund, to pay for expensive Fedex shipping. Seventeen dollars to return rug samples! (And of course the new style doesn't match the old ones at all....) read more

I ordered a XMass gift online, planned to pick it up at the Store. Website showed it 'instock', had follow up emails that the item would be ready to pickup day after order placed. All good. two days after placing the order I called to pick it up, was told it would be waiting for me at the drive-up door. Arrived and was told it was all a mistake, the store does not have the item and won't have it for some time! Now - start over! and no chance of having it by Christmas. I ordered a few items to be put together as a gift. I paid for them and scheduled the "in store" pick up. I also ordered the "gift box" so that they would be packaged nicely and all together as a gift. I got notified that 2 of the 4 items were ready for pick up and that I had 7 days to pick them up. Then I got notified that the other items were now on backorder. So, now I have to start over because they are meant to be together as a gift.... and I would have to make two trips to get all the items. Just annoying. But not the end of the world. So, my husband goes there to pick up the items that are ready and we cancelled the other items. We followed all the instructions and he was waiting outside in a freezing car. He waited over a half hour - defeating the whole purpose of this pick up curbside concept. Other people were pulling up and getting their stuff before him. Someone finally came out and brought them out in a big shopping bag barely wrapped in paper. SO, the whole idea of the items being packaged nicely in a box as a gift is out the window. I know - first world problems, right?? But the fact is that I am paying top dollar for something I probably could have bought on Amazon and had delivered to my door - in 2 days. And for that premium price I expect it to be done right and well....it's not a lot to ask. This place has gone downhill as far as customer service and appreciation goes. Very sad indeed. read more

A quick stop in the C&B to check out kitchenware where I see that it's not just kitchenware but all sorts of other decor items from picture frames to ceramic vases to furniture and towels and other bedroom stuff. Prices are definitely leaning towards high to very high but if you're shopping Crate & Barrel, you know that already. This Chestnut Hill Location really helped me out. I was trying to replace a damaged order I received from another store, but it was no longer available online. Kara was not only very friendly and helpful over the phone, she went to the back and double checked to make sure they had what I needed in stock. They were even able to ship it to my house! Crate&Barrel is an interesting store. This location sits in a large spot on the second floor of the Chestnut Hill Mall, with both an exterior entrance and mall entrance. Convenient access via the Hammond Pond Pkwy entrance, and the parking garage. The store is extremely clean and well organized, spotless. The staff all are very helpful, friendly, and extremely attentive to each and every customer as well as the checkout area. They literally, DROPPED what they were doing to come over and check me out, even though there wasn't any one ahead of me (great, rare customer service here!). Only wish for this store is to lower the prices, some of their items I can get for much less at places like nearby HomeGoods or Pier 1. For the most part, though, great store. I'll definitely look forward to coming back if I were to need something they carry. 4 stars. read more

We bought a buffet sideboard console made of stained wood. It was delivered and damaged during delivery with scratches along the edge from where the three delivery drivers made one mover unpackage the piece in the middle of the road. We noticed the damage after they left and told the company about the damage and they said there's no way to tell it was damaged during delivery so now we have a brand new expensive piece of furniture that's been damaged and looks used one day after purchasing. Awful customer service, I personally will never shop at Crate and Barrel in my life!!! Management needs to be better, because it seems the norm to screw over customers and tell them they are out of luck. read more

I bought a $1200 from Crate & Barrel that lasted less than one year. Rug was all faded and matted down just from walking on it with our stocking feet. A big waste of money. Crate & Barrell offered a partial refund in the way of a gift card. The rugs look nice at first but they're junk. read more

to make a long story short, my roommate and i picked out a couch to be custom ordered and delievered to my apartment. melissa said our new couch would fit in the apartment when i gave the dimensions, and even took the time to come and measure our stairwell, confirming that it was good to go. waited about 2 months for it to come, legs show up damaged and it won't even fit up the stairs. she blamed it on the moving company not trying hard enough (my roommate witnessed them trying to move it up and it was impossible) instead of admitting that her measurements were off. i did end up getting a refund which i'm still waiting on but now we are out of a couch and no furniture to sit on in our living room for probably at least 2 weeks since i refuse to buy any other furniture from crate and barrel. i wouldn't recommend read more

Absolute worst customer service experience I have ever received. I placed an order for curbside pickup and when I arrived to pick up, after receiving a notification that my order was ready, they couldn't find my order. I waited for 55 minutes to leave with 3 pieces of my order still missing. At no point did a manager intervene to see what the problem was. Absolutely awful for spending over $300. read more

I love Crate and Barrel and the stuff they have from furniture to housewares to everything in between is not only trendy but stylish. Pricing is a little outrageous but the products are quality and the stuff lasts forever. This location I do have to agree with other reviewers, its not a great layout. It sits in the sort of desolate fancy Chestnut Hill Mall and is a smaller scale store, not much furniture and mostly plates, housewares and glassware etc. The store is laid out odd, with an entrance in the back and just a weird sort of design department at the entrance and walking into tons of housewares etc. The thing about Crate and Barrel similar to Pottery Barn (see my other reviews) there are tons of staff working in these stores, however not one of them offers to assist, greets you or gives you the time of day and most of them are preoccupied. Another fair warning not for this store in particular, Covid has seriously affected their supply chain and I ordered three counter stools to be delivered to this store for pickup and it literally took weeks to arrive and it was only after me calling and bothering this store and customer service, I received my items. Their shipping is appalling, slow and disjointed and lacking serious customer service. As for the staff here, friendly enough on the phone, but in person they need some serious work. read more

Six times over three months the same item (the Belmont Kitchen Island) has been "in transit from the warehouse", which apparently takes place via ox-cart, because it takes 6-7 weeks for that to happen. Nothing says "change your stock/on-hand inventory policy" like a constant lack of things you sell. read more

I really like this Crate and Barrel. It's right in the mall but has a separate door so you can dash in and out without dealing with lots of people. They have most things in stock or can order it to be shipped to the store. Great selection, clean. I have fallen in love with C&B this year as a result of getting married and doing a registry here. Although it seems expensive and it definitely can be expensive, there are good bargains to be had and the items are fun, cute, and of good quality. My favorite part of this particular store are the fantastic sales ladies. They have been so sweet and patient with me, no matter how many random things I have returned over the months. Located in the tiniest upscale mall I've been in (and that says a lot from a true-blood Valley girl). Beautiful mall--but what was even more fun was running into the C + B Furniture store. Great stuff! Without having to wary of tipping wine glasses and summer pitchers, you can browse through this Crate and Barrel. Inspiration comes quickly as they've assembled some petite showrooms that you can set up at home. I ran to the back of the store on a whim and found a great 5-feet-tall chiffonier for only $320. It was on sale and a floor display, but still a great piece. The customer service was very nice too and helped to shove the big piece into my car. Thanks CBF! read more

Unfortunately, we were not here to shop for ourselves and were on a mission to grab a shower present (no time like last minute, eh?). Nice store in regards to prodcuts, but they don't take full responsibility when an item is damaged, and they make returns difficult.

The company does not stand behind their product. My bed BROKE -- as in, the wood just split. (I was not jumping on it!) The company rep told it cannot be repaired, and they pretty much told me to buzz off. So, hundreds of dollars down the tubes! After these experiences, I wrote a negative comment on Crate & Barrel's Facebook page and they banished me -- that is, the page is coded so I can't post anything on their wall. I bought an expensive kitchen gadget for my husband for Father s Day at this store. The lady showed me the outside of the box, but didn t open it. When my husband opened the gift at home, it was kind of surreal, the box was almost empty, most of the parts were gone. I took it back to them-- they didn t know what happened, didn t have another one, didn t know if they will get more, didn t know if other stores in the chain have it. Got the refund but barely an apology. Not very nice. read more

I've been in Crate & Barrel Furniture several times and must comment on the staff - absolutely terrible. The last 3 times I've been in, the staff were all in the corner gossiping about customers who had just left the store! I had to ask for someone to help me and each time, they acted put-out to be bothered. The last time I was in, the woman was so rude. I have no doubt that they did a great deal of gossiping about me after I Ieft but at least I get to write this review about them so everyone knows about their poor customer service. Additionally, the furniture around the showroom is all chipped and peeling - not a good indicator of longevity for thier products. Will definitely not be back. read more
