After going to home depot and lowe's for a decent bathroom vanity and failing I found this store through a google search. First let me say - call me to fix your website (it's what I do for a living and your site may be the worst one I have seen in YEARS)! Sparkly stars in the background!? Cheesy banner ads on the bottom advertising "click here!!! this is so funny!!! you will ROTFLMAO!!!" Seriously? It's clear you have spent 0% of your time on your website. You are selling vanities that START at $900 - your website shouldn't have banner ads like that. Ok but enough about the website - let's get to the store... It's in a random location - kind of a no man's land between the Arsenal Mall and Watertown center. The store is bright with A LOT to choose from and really nice stuff. No it's not cheap, but I believe you get what you pay for - vanities were made out of real wood, not particle board. I absolutely loved the bath items from Ronbow, but the price was a bit out of our price range for a small second bathroom in a condo ($900 + shipping for an 18" vanity with super cool sink top). However, for a home or larger bathroom - I think the price is worth it for the quality you get. Why the 3 stars? I docked 1 star for the website - seriously it's bad. I docked another star because I stood in there for a good 30 minutes and then had to go ask someone to help me. I don't like pushy sales people, but I do like someone to come over and ask if I need help. Instead, one guy sat on the phone and ignored me the whole time I was in there (a small be w/ you in a minute would be nice), and another guy was sitting behind a counter looking at books of the products. There was only one other person in the entire showroom besides me - it's not like they were busy. Very disappointed that they don't stand behind their products. I had a great experience a few years ago when redoing two bathrooms and purchased all new fixtures at Moniques. 5 years later one of my very expensive faucets has failed. I had a very difficult time reaching anyone. I was told by Monique's to call the manufacturer, who told me to call the vendor. Finally after almost 2 months I was told they don't consider this a warranty problem and wished me good luck. I purposefully chose to buy from a reputable showroom and bought what I considered a high end faucet, with a 10 year warranty, rather than a big box store to avoid this exact scenario. I understand that they don't want to offer a full refund, but at least some sort of credit for a new faucet would seem appropriate. They have lost my business and my referrals. read more

Much better at sales than customer service. I bought thousands of dollars of fixture for my renovation, they gave me accidentally parts that did not belong to my order, I called them, they sent a driver within the hour to pick them up, when i realize 2 small parts were missing from my order, i called the manager and all he offered was for me to buy them again. There are better showrooms with better customer service and big web sites that also stocks items you would have to wait 8 to 12 weeks to order here. Customer service is more important than sales in this difficult time, my advice is shop elsewere. read more

I bought an entire house of high end fixtures. Most were fine. The big problem was with a Kohler tub. After the install a defect showed up. Monique's was far less than helpful. Sell expensive but do not stand behind your customer when there is a problem. I will NEVER buy at Monique's again-ever. read more

Moniques is a great destination for high end plumbing fixtures, vanity cabinets, vanity mirrors (check out the Robern sliding vanity mirror, beautiful) and even cabinet pulls. I came here for cabinet pulls for my kitchen and bathroom cabinets. The sales rep, Chris, was really helpful in determining the best size and style. I let him know I was in a real rush and they were able to get my custom order in store in 3-4 days, which is about as good as it gets (the selection at Home Depot is crap and they are 7-10 days for custom orders). I'm looking forward to seeing if they can be competitive on price for plumbing fixtures as I build/renovate houses and love their stuff. read more

I haven't purchased anything from Monique's because every time I interact with them, I'm always disappointed. The first time I walked in, everybody ignored me (maybe because I look younger than I am) and I had to walk up to the sales table and ask somebody to help me after wandering around for 10 minutes. The response I got was, "I'm busy, but what can I do for you." All I got was a price quote and absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. He didn't even ask me about my project or what I was looking for...no suggestions offered. It was like talking to a brick wall. I thought this place was more expensive because of their "superior customer service?" A few weeks later I called again to ask about a different product they carried, and the receptionist said that all the sales people were too busy to talk to me and to call back later. It was a Tuesday afternoon... The third time I went back to the store with my husband and the receptionist at the front desk didn't even greet us. What is your job lady? After wandering around being ignored again...somebody finally came to help us. We got another quote for the same product i Inquired when I first came in, and the price was $300 more. WTH? I came here because of Yelp and was looking for a place that would give me that extra customer service and guidance for my bathroom renovation. 3 times I gave them a chance, and every single time I felt ignored...that's not how a customer should feel when going to a SHOWROOM. During minor renovations, my mother decided to surprise me with a shower stall she ordered before I even had a contractor in my condo. Thanks, Ma. After getting a professional in there, it was pretty apparent that her gift horse would have to get returned to the farm. So off I went on the search for a shower base which would fit the dimensions of my tiny new bathroom. (I kid you not, you could shower, pee, and brush your teeth at the same time.) I gave Monique's a call, and lo and behold they had a warehouse return of the not-exactly-but-close-enough-to-satisfy-me item I was looking for! Chris patiently worked past closing with us to make sure we had everything we needed for our bathroom renovation. His product familiarity is astounding and his experience unparalleled. He did not push us to buy anything other than what made us happy. He was honest when he thought something could be done better and was mindful of our budget. He struck an optimal balance of quick efficiency, attention to detail and patience with our decision process. Our products arrived on time and were delivered to our door, no issues. Long story short, our project got delayed by 5 months. Ready to finally start the job, we needed a few more things. We went back -5 months later!- and Chris recognized us and again stayed late to make sure we were all set. He even offered to work with a manufacturer to return a product we no longer needed so long after purchasing! His colleagues were also very helpful and knowledgeable, chiming in to help Chris track down the perfect towel bar for our small bathroom. My experience could not have been better. Chris Sawicki knows his product backwards and forwards. I outfitted a bathroom, he knew the ins and outs of each product and saved me lots of time by guiding me through the selections easily. He worked with me to find exactly the look I was seeking, and handled a few changes for me as well. We sourced many items for our master bath renovation--sinks, faucets, toilet, and fancy illuminated Duravit mirrors--from Monique's three years ago. We got perceptive advice, personal service, excellent pricing and, as others have reported, a feeling of being treated as we'd like to be, especially, but not at all exclusively, by Vinnie Batista. But that's not what's motivating me to write a review. Recently, one of the mirror's lighting stopped working. I checked out our wiring, researched with Duravit, and concluded the mirror dimming system had failed. Vinnie first connected us with Duravit (which has a reputation for being somewhat difficult to work with), but they eventually said we had to work through Monique's, so it landed back in his lap. Duravit acknowledged the problem, but first said they no longer made that model--a big problem since we have two matching pieces over our two sinks. Vinnie fought for three weeks to get us what we wanted, though there was no immediate upside for him or Moniques--he was using chips with his vendor on our behalf, even though there was no new business in sight . Throughout, he kept us informed of every step. We can't imagine how we could have been better treated or supported, from our first interaction two years ago until now. I had the worst experience at this business. I gave a price range and continuously was being given products that did not fit my needs and felt myself having to advocate for things that I didn't truly understand. My interior decorator recommended this place but I was sorely disappointed by how much I needed to know and research on my own rather than depend on salespeople for support. The salesperson got all of the items incorrect on an initial invoice. Subsequently they did not include delivery requiring a second invoice to be drafted. Finally, they ordered the wrong fixtures ( a minor nuance in the product type/name I missed in the invoice review) and I now have a plumber at my house with nothing to do. I would suggest visiting Republic - a place my contractor recomended we use for this project moving forward. read more

I too found this place after searching endlessly at Home Depot and Lowe's for bathroom items. My first time here I will admit was confused as to how to get someone to help. Should I wait behind other waiting customers, raise my hand, shout, institute a new queuing system for them? Just wait by the counter area before it turns into a free for all and seek eye contact. They are pretty busy on Saturdays, weekdays/nights are better. The staff here are all knowledgeable of the products and can offer recommendations and assistance with products and even some design suggestions. The first time I visited here I wasn't ready to buy, just looking to get ideas and familiarize myself with options....so when no one greeted us I noticed but didn't mind. It was a bit awkward that no one even asked though. After a few weeks of research, my husband and I figured out what we needed and knew exactly what we were looking for. I called early in the morning to ask if they had the type of product we were looking for and the woman confirmed that they did and had items in the showroom to look at. I had mentioned that we wanted to see and touch the actual product. Well, we went there and like last time were not greeted at all. There were maybe 4 customers and 4 employees in the store.....5 minutes nothing, 10 minutes nothing....really? I didn't expect them to jump all over us but a simple, "welcome and let me just wrap up with this person" would have been sufficient. finally I politely interrupted one of the employees to ask where in the showroom I could find what I was looking for. He immediately told me they don't have those there but only in a catalog......that was disappointing. The main reason we went there was for that....which I told him and received a blank stare and then he moved right on to what he was doing. Service is important to me. I'm not interested in doing business with a company that has poor customer service and quite frankly wastes my time. read more

Was treated very rudely there. It was 10 minutes past closing, granted, but I had been waiting at least 30 minutes for one of two people to talk to me. After smoking a cigarette, one guy comes back in, looks at me after I forced eye contact and says, "Do you have a quick question?" I tried to ask but it was clear that he had no interest in helping me. All he needed to say was, "I'm so sorry but we do have to close now. I wish I could help you but I can't." Yes, you can go to a box store and pick out a good bathroom fixture. After looking online at hundreds of replacement bathroom faucets, I gave up and went here as recommended by my contractor. The selection was nothing you find online and you do get to see all the options, something looking online can't duplicate. (BTW-I buy online all the time.) What was best was the help I got from Chris. He worked with me to find a match for the replacement faucet, then suggested I look at an similar model of equal quality but a lesser cost made by another company. Now who does that? Rather than upselling me, he downsold me. and worked to add my order to another he had coming into the store to save me $46 in shipping. Now you know why I gave them 5 stars!! This is not the first time I purchased from them, but it is the first time I did this without my contractor. I was impressed. read more

Steer clear. Moniques' customer service is non-existent. I had a very frustrating experience with this company. I ordered a sink that was supposed to come in a few days. I scheduled installation of all new kitchen appliances and the sink for three weeks later. I then left for vacation. When I returned and stopped by to pick up the sink, it had never come in, and no one from Moniques had a clue. I wound up spending hours on the phone to try to get the sink delivered, and in the end had to pay for the installer to come back a week later to handle the sink separately. Moniques made absolutely no move to make good in any way by adjusting the price or helping cover the additional cost. read more

I'm confused by the other reviews here. Maybe I'm a lucky person, but I haven't received service of Monique's quality in a VERY long time - few have ever matched it. We have a full bathroom next to our soon-to-be-baby's room that we desperately needed to redo. We needed everything under the sun - fixtures, vanity, etc. The guys at Monique's were very much available to us. We knew what we wanted and they hustled to get us everything we needed. THEN, our contractor went MIA and Monique's was sitting with our pile of stuff. They were HYPER repsonsive via email/phone and let me know that there'd be no problem holding onto the stuff for us in a safe place in their warehouse and then they wished us well with the baby! Oh, yeah, and they beat everyone's tail on price. So, uh, above and beyond service plus great prices = 5 stars. read more

I ordered most of my totally renovated bathroom items from Monique's and received invaluable service from the sales staff (especially Tom). As other reviewers have noted, the Monique's price may not be rock bottom, but what you get for the extra $$ is worth it, in my opinion: (1) They help you sort through the maze of options; provide guidance if asked; and keep everything organized. (2) If there are issues (as there were with a couple of things in my order), they take over and make it right. One email or phone call is all I needed to do - they did the rest -- and with a smile. (3) They coordinate with your contractor. I was spared the work of coordinating contractor with materials arrivals and delays. Re prices - Faucets and other hardware prices are exactly what you'll get online. It appears that the manufacturers control those prices pretty tightly. - Vanities and cabinet prices were indeed higher - maybe 5-10% higher - but frankly, they earned it with the guidance and follow-up assistance provided. - Porcelain items (tub, toilet, etc) I ordered elsewhere because they are way, way more expensive at Monique's. I told them that and hope they're able to lower their prices to be more competitive, because I would rather have ordered from them. read more

Recommended by many plumbers to us because they are able to sort out the confusing mess of model and part numbers of valves, trims, faucets, drains in any remodel. And true enough, they are really quite good. Chris Sawicki helped me and he's fabulous. I went in almost every 2 days for 2 weeks (before the MA tax holiday) to figure out what shower parts are needed for what brand, which was a difficult topic since there are some brands and collections that do not have entire matching sets from lav faucets to tub faucets to fancy shower trim. Chris helped me navigate through that web of confusion and we finally placed the order on MA tax holiday. A few weeks later, my general contractor picked up the entire order - Moniques check through all the list to make sure it's complete and nothing is broken, and my plumber installed the stuff without complaint. The only con I can think of is that prices are not as competitive as what you can get from Amazon or from online. If you are new to remodeling, this could save you a lot of headache, but if you have plenty of time and a tight budget, you can consider otherwise. Hence 1 star deducted from an otherwise remarkably smooth experience. And BTW, they did update their website, so it's not corny anymore. LOL! read more

It's hard to find reliable and trustworthy vendors within the home renovation industry. After working with many suppliers over the course of the past three years, I can't say enough about the customer service you get at Monique's. I specifically worked with Pat Viglirolo. He was not only professional, but had a calming demeanor that put you at ease that he was recommending the best product based on your budget. He was efficient, had great follow-up skills and worked well with my plumber and GC. You will not get the typical sales attitude from this place! What you can expect are staff that cares about your project, Sales Managers that have an in-depth knowledge of their products and confidence that you will be treated with respect from the point of purchase to delivery. I would highly recommend them and would specifically request that you ask for Pat! And I forgot to mention that they recently updated their showroom and it looks great! read more

I LOVE this place! When I started our bathroom renovations, I thought I'd save money by buying online. It sucked. The sink and lighting I'd chosen based on photos were wrong--returning them cost me a couple hundred. I waited two weeks for the online bathtub to arrive, only to discover it was cracked when it showed up. So I go to Monique's. Where I discover prices that met or beat what I'd been paying online, plus I could get a replacement tub the next day, and delivery charges were $40 rather than $155. The delivery guys were fantastic--calling ahead to give me an exact time and then meeting it. They were fastidious in checking the condition of the tub's finish before allowing me to sign off on it. Like other customers, I discovered no offer of immediate help in the store, but it worked for me, since I didn't want to be bothered while I wandered around and fussed with various items, like the shower-heads they have mounted in a shower stall. When ready, I was promptly helped by Pat, the store's manager. I got detailed info, recommendations when I asked, and explanations of the workings of different products. From then on much of our correspondence was via email. It was absolutely great! I wished I'd found them at the start of my renovations rather than mid-way through. It would have saved me a lot of money and a lot of grief. read more

However, I feel compelled to write today to praise the customer service reps, especially Chris. I went in with a photo of a specific bathroom vanity I saw at a hotel. I hoped the Monique's reps could source it for me. They dug around in catalogs, called the hotel at which I saw the original, found a fabricator, called me back with their contact info - all at no gain to them, since they can't supply it to me. I have made a couple of purchases at Monique's because they have good-looking stuff that you can't necessarily pick up any-old-where (although you can get anything they have online). It's no cheap and in fact, sometimes it's not even reasonable. But what can I say - I am picky about design and usually have a time crunch. This week I needed a major new fixture immediately (so I was willing to pay an extra $100 over the internet price). After I paid and waited to hear about delivery (which was apparently not going to happen in the timeframe I was told when I shelled out much more than I wanted to pay because I needed it fast), I encountered the most breathtaking rudeness I have ever encountered in a retail operation. Rude to the point of abusive. When I complained, did the salesman try to make things right after the snarling brusqueness of the warehouse man? No, he was worse. he said,"I could say something about you but I won't." Is this the last bastion of rabid women haters? Or is it "we are really too good to be selling things to the likes of you."? When has such abusiveness ever helped to sell faucets? What are they THINKING? They owe me $40 for non-delivery but I can't make myself step into the path of the oncoming rudeness train. I don't recommend that anyone buy anything from this place. Who needs this kind of abuse when, with a little planning ahead, you can get it without a dose of meanness...and much cheaper to boot. read more

Moniques is the best! I purchased a kitchen faucet that I love. After ten years, it was loose and I wasn't sure what was wrong. I couldn't tell whether it was a screw in the faucet itself or something below. I called and talked to Kevin, who researched my records, sent me diagrams and essentially told me how to get the faucet fixed. Not the kind of service you find very often these days! We are redoing a kitchen and 3 baths and they helped us select fixtures for all of them, including ordering some special things for us to consider and not being bothered when we didn't want them.
