The Crate & Barrel (CB) is a retail chain home decor and furniture shop. The closest Sacramento location is in the Roseville Galleria, indoor shopping mall. CB Crate & Barrel's design aesthetics are modern and organic looking with coastal inspired elements. It has a designer look without the high end price point. But not cheap though. The great thing is that they offer free design services. Yes, free. No pressure to purchase. The Roseville location is in a mall. The Galleria is pretty large. Parking is bit of a cluster at the end of the mall where CB is located. This is a busy mall year round. More of a madhouse during the holidays. I had to park in the back forty and hike it in and it was Spring time, no where near the holidays. The CB is two stories. Furniture mainly on the second floor and housewares, flatware, and small kitchen appliances on the first. They have an escalator and elevator in the shop. The last time I was here was a few months ago, oddly folks brought their dogs. Three different families brought their dogs in. At least two were not service dogs. How did I know? They were ill behaved and snarked and barked at anybody that walked near them including the other dogs. read more

The beginning of a new year, and it's definitely time for a refresh. I stopped into the Galleria in Roseville, undecided to pop into Crate&Barrel. I love the easy access into the store, which means I don't have to go cruising through the entire mall just to get to the store. Parking is also immediately right outside which makes it also super convenient. With my mentalist of what I was looking for as I bruised the different floors, I was looking for something specific and stopped a sales person to ask if I was going in the correct direction. She was incredibly disrespectful and very short with me. Maybe she was having a bad day. I don't know. It was entirely uncalled for when I asked for a product by name and said correctly, where she rudely corrected me with the wrong name and made some heinous noise, which caused another customer to turn around and look at her with distain. There's usually enough of a selection of a variety of items to be able to narrow down decision decision-making. They definitely were a little low on stock in some areas and I attribute that to post holiday shopping. I easily found the Breville toaster counter oven that I've been searching for, what I couldn't find, was someone to help me other than the little mean lady on the other side of the store. I absolutely did not want to deal with her. Sadly, I ended up leaving and will either shop online or at another store that carries the same items that I'm looking for. read more

First off, I'm a little surprised to see the aggregate Yelp score is so low. I bought a full set (Service for 12 people) of Marin White table ware with all the serving platters, bowls, gravy boats, coffee mugs, etc. Heavy duty glazed ceramic. The items were on sale. Discount price was what attracted me. The items are all made in Portugal. Here's a funny discovery; I have a digital kitchen scale that's accurate down to 1 gram (1/28th of an ounce). Every dish, bowl, has a different weight. Line the dishes up and they all look the same. I doubt that they are hand made. But the weights can vary by 20 grams. Anyway, shopping here is fine. Sales people are friendly and helpful. The merchandise display invites casual browsing. On the dining ware buying trip the store did not have 12 of some items. The items were ordered. They arrived at the store a few days later. I preferred to pick them up. We opened the boxes to assure that nothing got broken in transit. Smart move as there were a couple of broken items. 3rd time was charm. All good. So Crate and Barrel rating? A step higher in quality than Cost Plus World Market. A step below Nordstrom. Fits in a niche for casual unfussy housewares. read more

I am a loyal online CB shopper but every time I come into the store I get treated with the upmost disrespect. The amount of discrimination from the employees is outrageous. If you're not Caucasian or dressed up, don't expect to get good service or any type of service from the employees. Management: if you're reading this please train your employees to do better. I am standing in line, and Gina and another associate continue their conversation, attempting to open a box together. Not even acknowledging me, glances over at me, then continues with what they're doing. A non-colored customer walks by and they look up and greeted that customer. I was appalled. I walked to the other register and there was no one there. I came back, Gina and the other associate is still standing there having their own conversation, and I asked, does anyone work here today that would like to help out because I would like to purchase the Terra 90" dining table that is $2,500?! We bought our couch here and have loved it for about six years now. Recently one of the cushions became a bit flat and misshapen and out dog managed to get a small hole in the cover from his nails. Luckily, we remembered they have a service where you can reorder parts and we were able to order a new cushion and cover that would match our current one. You want to go through the actual store vs. the customer service line though, my husband was told multiple times that they can't do this service through the customer service line before calling our store directly. It takes some time for the order to come in but when it did it matched perfectly and we're happy that we can enjoy this couch for many many years to come. In store the staff was friendly and made sure we got everything. Typically they'll leave you alone and let you browse unless you have questions. If you do need help the staff is knowledgeable and really helpful as well. read more

If I could give it 0 stars, I would! The service at this store is horrendous! I went in there to buy a pan that I needed. I found it and approached the register, the cashier said she was busy with another customer and it would be a while. She pointed to another register, where again I was told that they were busy and go to another register. Finally, went to another register and the cashier looked at me and said that she was not working the register today, then proceeded to walk away. At this point I was defeated. Nobody wanted to help. I was ready to cash out. So I walked out to my husband who was waiting for me outside. He asked why I didn't purchase the item and I said no one wanted to help me. My 5'4" Asian self waited outside while my 6'1" Caucasian husband had to fight my battle. At this point, I didn't even want the item. I watched as he confronted the first cashier who didn't want to help me, and she was dismissive. Then another male worker came in and helped my husband, apologizing. Do better Crate and Barrel. I am absolutely outraged by the treatment I received at Crate & Barrel today. While browsing for, I was abruptly approached by a rude employee named Cheryl, who had the audacity to say that "only customers are allowed". "Excuse me?" What exactly did she think I was doing there? I was looking for furniture or looking for any household items that would fit in my apartment but apparently I don't fit her narrow-minded idea of what one should look like? This is blatant DISCRIMIATION and a complete failure of basic customer service. Rather than offering assistance or treating me with any respect, she made an insulting assumption and essentially kicked me out. In her words, "Shoo, or I will have to write you up". This was frustrating to hear from her, what was she going to write me up for? She couldn't even treat me with basic compassion and decided to treat me like a child. Not only was this humiliating, but deeply offensive as if I somehow didn't belong simply because of my appearance. This is completely unacceptable To make matters worse, when I voiced my frustration to Kathy, she barely acknowledged my concerns. Instead of addressing the situation with the care and professionalism I expected, she handed me a half-hearted apology, avoided eye contact, and rushed through helping me with a quote--as if she just wanted me gone. Do you really think, after the utter disrespect I experienced, that I would spend my money here? This experience was not just one incident. After this happened, I checked the reviews, and it turns out I'm not the only one who has experienced racial discrimination at this location. It is beyond disturbing to see multiple reviews describing similar encounters with racism and poor treatment. The fact that this pattern of racial bias continues unchecked is disgraceful Crate & Barrel, is this how you train your employees? To judge, dismiss, and insult potential customers instead of welcoming them? How many more customers need to experience this before you take action? You've lost my business permanently. I refuse to spend a dime at a store that treats people with such blatant disrespect and unprofessionalism. Walking in for the first time.. was very impressionable.. Customer service.. was appreciated.. Lots of different styles and merchandise. RE: Roseville Galleria location and not about items 1. Customer service seems to badly fluctuate at this particular store. You really don't get greeted nor it seemed some of the salespeople particularly want to help. There are a few exceptions. 2. It's very unfortunate how online purchases are packed. Box was sealed up so only way to check is to open the box which seemed impolite to do. Note the I had requested a bag. I bought about a number of items including 9 candles which were only in 2 wrapping papers. I'm not going to go back to the store since I'm going to use the candle anyway but I prefer that they're not dented prior to use. 3. This is the 3rd time something like this has happened at the Roseville Galleria location. The last incident was being given the wrong silverware items which were all packed up in a box as well. This was also an online purchase pickup. Note that you have to just check EVERY time. Seems churlish but then again the other option is to have to drive back to the store. 4. Also observed that even if you have MULTIPLE bags and boxes of purchased items, no sales person has offered to help bring it curbside where my car was waiting. After many visits and purchases ( including 4 sofas, an entertainment center, several bed frames etc ), here are my thoughts on the furniture department: Some employees are really helpful and attentive. Most however are rude, dismissive, judgmental, and won't even make eye contact. I'm pretty sure they have been trained to be like that from the management staff of this store: If you don't fit their idea of affluent or look a certain way, you don't deserve their attention or respect, even if you have money to spend. As far as furniture quality. Hit or miss. The Lounge sofas are high quality and wonderful. A coffee table and another line of sofa (which they don't carry anymore) were totally trash. Cheaply made. So we recently moved and have a pretty big living room (15 feet by 20 feet) that's completely empty because we didn't have enough furniture. A friend told me that you can go on Crate and Barrel's website and schedule an appointment for a designer to come out and help you furnish your house. I went online and indeed, you can! I was so excited to have somebody who knows what they are doing to pick the right pieces because I myself have no room design skills whatsoever. So I went online and scheduled a free at home consultation. I felt so good about it too! I mean, it's a win-win: we get to custom-furnish our beautiful living room, and the store gets to sell us two couches (or a sectional), a coffee table, and a couple of armchairs. What an amazing project for everyone involved! My husband and I have been to the store and had a general idea of what we needed, I got the confirmation text with all the details, what could go wrong. The day before I get a phone call and an email from the store saying that they cancelled my appointment because this is not a service they provide. Which is weird because that's exactly the service described online. As suggested by the caller, I returned the call, went through this whole automated system thing, just to get confirmation that this location really does not wish to provide this service. I mean, I get it, but then change the website, people, or let me know right away, not the day before. The lady suggested that instead I make an appointment to meet at the store... Ummmm.... Why would I need an appointment to go to the store?! I can just... (wait for it).. go to the store whenever I feel like it! Besides, I already checked out the store and was really hoping they could look at the room and help me choose. In any case, naturally I will go to a furniture store at this point, maybe even a Crate and Barrel store. Just not this location because I'm afraid "buying furniture" may mean something else in their language, just like "at home consultation." Besides, there are plenty wonderful stores around. Quality is subpar. Pay good money for medium, (at best) quality furniture. I bought a desk and sectional. The custom made sectional showed up with a tear on a side arm and other issues. The desk, although beautiful, is not the greatest quality and already showing wear. One of the managers at this store was also surprisingly rude. read more

I came in with my nephew and wife to help them with their new home furnishings. We met Kathy who was very helpful and professional and gave them suggestions. We took home 3 carpet samples and went back the next day to order it. I came back during Christmas and saw the new carpet and lamp. I went back in to see Kathy for new dining room chairs. Found her working and placed my order. After my purchase, I saw my dining room chairs were on sale. I made a phone call and an adjustment was made. WOW, now I know my husband and I were not the only ones that felt discriminated here by some of the staff. We chose C and B as one of our wedding registries. We came into the store to return an item from our wedding registry. The lady was helpful (good start) and we returned our item no problem. She even gave us a phone Number to call so that we could get the newlywed discount (since we had lost the email w/the link). We asked her where the restroom was and she said it was upstairs. We had driven 1.5 hr to get here btw, so yeah, I had to go. My husband and I went upstairs and there was a white woman who bluntly asked "can I help you?" (as if we didn't belong in the store). I said "yes, where's your restroom?" she rudely and very snappy said "They're closed. there's a restroom near Zara" like okay, first of all, that wasn't my question. the lady who helped us would've told us if they were closed, and the store didn't close for another 2 hours. She probably thought we were some lost Mexicans who waltzed into the store and were asking for the restroom. She didn't know we were actual customers. What a fun and unique store! I had never been in a Crate & Barrel before I began my search for two side tables for my couch. A bit of a drive from my new home to the nearest Crate & Barrel in Roseville but well worth the time and energy! I have been searching, as I mentioned above, for a specific type of table for my home....A C-table. I was not even aware of this particular table until the GF mentioned it. With a C-table the bottom of the piece will conveniently slide underneath the sofa while thus providing maximum space in your room. Who knew? You know how it is.... once you are aware of something then you see it everywhere. But like everything there are different degrees of quality and price ranges for products. I happened to be walking through Crate & Barrel to get to the other side of the shopping center when a table caught my attention. It was a C-table and it was stunning! This was like a miracle! I went over and carefully looked. Super sturdy and very well constructed (not flimsy so as to keep your cup of coffee or glass of wine securely on the table and not spilling all over your couch). After 5 minutes I knew my search was over. Really quite amazing I found the perfect table so randomly. While the price was a bit more than any other I had seen it was worth every penny and still reasonable. Not only did I discover Crate & Barrel has beautiful products but also the customer service is beyond awesome! Kim handled my purchase to perfection. So professional, fast and knowledgeable. Management should be quite happy with her incredible customer service abilities. So I left a very happy camper knowing my two tables would be arriving within the week. To avoid shipping charges, I opted to pick them up curbside. I received a phone call telling me my tables had arrived and that I could pick them up anytime during store hours. Well I could not get there fast enough:). The curbside pickup was seamless. Loved that! Called the store as my GF was literally turning into the shopping center. Two minutes later as we drove up to Crate & Barrel curbside (which had great signage), the two boxes were being rolled out by lovely Courtney. The whole experience from start to finish was incredible. And I had my two beautiful Siena C tables! This store rocks! Thank you for taking such wonderful care of your customers. This used to be one of my favorite stores, and my main reason for coming to the mall. This CB is easy to locate, right near the back parking lot. Convenient and quick. The store itself is very large with two stories. The furniture is upstairs and all the other housewares are downstairs. I can't even tell you how many things in my house are from CB. My review is based on my last three visits - all three of which were disappointing. This past weekend we stopped in to see what's new and the entire store was so blah and sad looking. Every single item in the store is either brown or white or silver. There is no color, no fun, nothing happy. It's like decorations for a hospital or something. The place felt empty and cold. Not inviting or appealing. Same old stuff just recycled. Nothing seasonal or fresh. On our last three visits we have been ignored by the employees and the merchandise is no longer fabulous. February 23, 2025 I am an Asian-American in my late 20's and just moved into a house with my fiancé. We're looking for furniture for our living room with friends who recommend crate & barrel. Stepped into the store about 5 minutes and started sitting on the sofa testing to see how comfortable we like it and about a minute later a employee name Cheryl comes and says these furniture are for customers only and got threaten to get a write up and got kicked out the store. This older lady discriminated me, my fiancé and my friends using her hands saying get out and talking to us like children. Me, my fiancé, family and friends will definitely not be shopping here ever again due to this experience and discrimination. It is not right and unprofessional judging someone from how they look. Sounds like they need to find a way to designate when they have a "special event" going on, and when they do not. They do a decent job with the registry events. Each group gets an iPod Touch to scan various bar codes corresponding with items they wish to include in their registry. One can use his own iPhone, for instance, but it must be Apple. (boo) Upstairs is mostly furniture. Luckily, someone had the Nespresso going downstairs so I got a complimentary coffee drink. Like most things in Roseville, I'd return if in the area. I was in a last minute crunch for 8 wine glasses for a family dinner this weekend. Thought it might be efficient and easier with my 3 year old twins, to order curb side pickup. A full 24 hours later I hadn't received an email or text that my order was ready for pick up. I was in the area with my twins and called Crate and Barrel to see if it was ready yet, or if they could please put it together for me...well Ashley didn't only leave me on the phone for 20 min but she also told me it wasn't possible, so I had to call my Mother in law to meet me so I could walk into the store, cancel my order and rebuy the glasses. Walked in here with a huge list of things Needed for my new home. I was given space to search, yet any time I needed help, someone was unobtrusively available. I wandered the store gathering my ideas and then hopped up to the counter where Denisa was ready to assist me. She was so pleasant and easy to work with. I needed 16 of everything, she sourced them rapidly and either got them boxed up or had them shipped directly to me. The whole store crew worked efficiently in unison to get my needs met in a timely manner, even though they were silly busy! I really appreciate all of the help I received while visiting this store.
