My wife and I have been working on a major house design project with Jennifer Atristain at the Ethan Allen Roseville office for 4-5 months now. We both have nothing but good things to say about Jennifer and the Ethan Allen order / delivery support people. Jennifer is everything you want in a designer. First off, she is an excellent listener. That's so important when you are trying to get another person to understand what you like and dislike and the vision you have in your head. She's also very skilled at her craft, interior design, with a real eye for what colors, textures, and shapes go together. She's also quite skilled with interior design software and putting together computer-generated layouts of how she envisions her designs in your home. I found that to be extremely helpful. And lastly, she has a great personality, is easy to work with, has a good sense of humor, has an enormous amount of energy so she keeps your projects moving right along, and is prompt with replies to questions sent to her by email, text, or phone. My wife and I were also extremely impressed with one of Ethan Allen's "white glove" delivery teams that was comprised of Hugo and Kenneth. We've had Hugo and Kenneth make multiple deliveries to our house, sometimes with large items like rugs, headboards, oversized chairs, or end tables. Hugo and Kenneth always put booties on over their shoes before entering the house, were careful when navigating narrow hallways with large items, and were careful with our hardwood floors when putting items into place. On future orders (and with my wife as happy as she is with what she's ordered thus far from Ethan Allen I'm sure there will be more), We will be sure to ask for Hugo and Kenneth by name to be the ones to deliver the items. read more

Bought a recliner based on past good experience with Ethan Allen. Specifically asked for a fabric that would wear well. Fabric TOTALLY frayed within a few months. They replaced the recliner with the same chair, which did the exact same thing. I have furniture that I bought at Ashley's which I've had for years, and has stood the test of time. Ashley's is a higher quality store than Ethan Allen. The structure of the chair is falling apart now. Ethan Allen is not a store that sells quality furniture, nor does it supply competent sales people. I am not one to post opinions on these sites, but think people should be aware that Ethan allen is not the store it was 20 years ago. read more

Quality furnishings at a fair price. Initially we went to Ethan Allen after seeing an ad for bar stools. We were 3 months into a serious bar stool search and couldn't find what we liked. We met designer, Diana Jorgensen and shared what wanted. Diana took the time to get to know us and our design esthetic. Not only did we instantly appreciate the the quality of the barstools, but also the vast fabric choices! Eventually, we ordered a sofa, ottoman, two chairs, a bed, draperies and far more pillows than we probably needed (when you find the perfect fabrics to coordinate with other furnishing, it's obvious your not going to find similar pillows in a typical retail establishment). Diana and Ethan Allen gave our home a custom look we love. Though Ethan Allen has been known for their traditional/classic furnishings, they also have more contemporary styles and beautiful quality fabrics for all tastes. read more

There so many great things to say about Ethan Allen.... Where do I start? First, we met Diana (7 months ago) when we first moved in. She was super helpful & we bought a couple vases. On our way out... Diana said "I can come look at house or look at pictures and help you with any or all rooms." 6 Months later .... We decided to call Diana & have her help us with the Master & entertainment room. OMG! Stunning! We walked around the store & I fell in love with a large painting. She's chosen colors from the painting & designed a beautiful entertainment room. Things we never would of thought of....look amazing!!! Our Master bedroom is under way & each step has been seem less. Apparently you can't call Ethan Allen Roseville to ask questions or request assistance because the receptionist who answers the phone is apparently too busy to do her job. I didn't even get to the part about asking for my designer because she decided she could advise me before this point and instead asked what I needed.in this process, she was very rude and off-putting. I left my information and the question I had as requested. She stated she would call me back. She did not. When I had to call a second time, she was rude. She had completely forgotten to look up the information I needed and put me on hold to go do it. When she returned and began to stall, I reminded her I had already called and she said, "Well you just called this morning" as if returning my call in the same day wasn't within the realm of her expected job duties or normal customer service. Ethan Allen, hire a receptionist who is polite, friendly and competent enough to do the job. My experience with my designer and the furniture I ordered was great, but if I have to deal with this receptionist when I call the store for assistance, I will shop elsewhere. read more

You have to know how Ethan Allen is when you enter the store. Ethan Allen sells well made, high quality home furnishings. Almost nothing is available for you to purchase to take home today in the showroom. The price on the samples on the showroom floor may not be what the item costs, this is especially true for upholstered items. If you purchase a sofa, it may be two to three months before you will get the sofa. Ethan Allen sales people are commission driven: the more you spend, the more the salesperson earns. Ethen Allen salespeople are are nice but they have seen a lot of pretentious people. Knowing all of this will make it easier to negotiate the Ethan Allen showroom. An Ethan Allen designer will work with you. Our designer, Sandra, visited our home and measured our house to ensure that the furniture would fit. Prepare yourself for sticker shock. Ethan Allen furniture is expensive but it is well made in the United States. Ethan Allen has regular sales and if you time it correctly, you can get 30% off with no problem. So scout out the showroom, know what you want and then wait for the right sale. We purchased a sofa and love seat combination along with a swivel chair for our family room. After you select the sofa or chair, you have to select the fabric. The selection of fabric can dramatically change the price of a sofa or chair. We selected a natural fabric in the mid price range. We purchased the items on the last day of July, 2017. Upholstered items take the longest to arrive and our sofa and love seat arrived November 4, 2017. Ryan and Leo were the delivery persons who delivered our furniture. The designer had visited our home and drawn a plan for how the furniture should look in your home. The people delivering the furniture are supposed to leave your new furniture in your home exactly as the designer planned it. Ryan and Leo were very careful in unloading our new furniture and bringing the furniture into our home. They constantly looked at the design plan and placed everything exactly as it was supposed to be placed. When they were done, they took all the wrapping and packing away. We love our new Ethan Allen furniture! Ethan Allen is definitely superior home furnishings. I did not love the showroom experience but our designer, Sandra was nice and helpful. It was a long wait to get the furnishings but it was worth it. The delivery guys, Ryan and Leo, were especially nice, they both worked very hard and it made the whole experience that much more pleasant. read more

Good quality furniture, excellent staff. We recently stopped in to look at options to update our family room and replace our 10+ year old couch. We weren't quite sure what we wanted, and were just looking to see what was available. Jenny B. was amazing to work with. We explained roughly what kind of looks we liked, we showed her a picture of what the room currently looked like, and a couple pieces we wanted to keep. Not a lot to go on, but she came back with a completely new vision that was exactly what we wanted. She presented number of beautiful options. We ended up selecting one that worked best for how we use the room, and she helped customize the palette to get exactly the look we wanted. We were able to take care of furniture, carpet and window treatments all in one place, We couldn't be happier with how its turning out. I have just completed basically a whole house project with Jennifer. She is an amazing designer and makes every effort to understand your aesthetic and then adds her polish and great eye for design. Yes the furniture is expensive, but it is beautiful and I have had no problems with the quality. I would recommend looking at the pricing online to familiarize yourself with the cost you will be looking at. With a project this big, of course, a few pieces had to be fixed or returned for a replacement, but I found their service in these situations to be excellent. They handled it very quickly and efficiently and with very little impact on my time; I was patient with the project and all worked out beautifully. Buyer beware. The furniture is not made in America. The quality is cheap. We bought Retreat sofa in an Old English Saddle leather in November 2018. However, the sofa was made in Mexico and had a strong chemical smell that lasted for months. The "leather" is a vinyl! Soo disappointed! The vinyl is very uncomfortable. I was bought into the idea of Ethan Allen having high quality furniture but that is far from the truth. I was going to buy more furniture from this store until my experience with the "leather" sofa. Very happy that I didn't buy anymore furniture from this place. This is the first and last time I do business with this company. read more

We've shopped her for years but the quality has gone downhill. We paid $11K for a large sectional a few years ago and it already has a tear. The expensive warranty EA sold us won't cover it because they said it's a manufacturer issue. EA hasn't returned my calls or emails. Extremely disappointed and will not be going back. So disappointed, I grew up w/ E.A. furniture and purchased a sofa and 2 slipcovers (2 because they might discontinue style in the future so no guarantee they will have pattern available and "prices just go up in textiles") before Christmas. When it was delivered there were black smudges and marks on fabric, scuffs on legs etc... immediately the issue went to warranty instead of replacement. Many phone messages to customer service in Seattle left unanswered. Situation is ongoing. However; I would not recommend, which is unfortunate as there are so few options in this area and Ethan Allen just made it even fewer. . read more

I had a great experience with Design Consultant Amber Cooper when I needed help choosing a dining table. At first I walked in because I was thinking about custom ordering a table but then I saw the Vinson Oak Table and I was sold right away. I really felt like a valued customer when Amber brought out all the color samples of the custom tables and for the Vinson table. The cherry on top was that she let me borrow a sample to bring to my home so I can see which shade I liked better. I ended up ordering the table which was backordered for 20 weeks but I didn't mind. Full disclosure I was looking at tables from West Elm, Pottery Barn, and Crate & Barrel but the experience at Ethan Allen was more unique since it just felt more personable and less retail-like. Because of this, I ended up pulling the trigger and cannot wait for my new table! I highly recommend working with Amber Cooper for your design/furniture needs! read more

Our experience working with Jenny in selecting our living room furniture was exceptional. She has a great eye for design and was a tremendous help with furniture selection. Stop. If you shop at Ethan Allen do not buy the Guardian warranty on any piece of furniture - they will fight any claim submitted. Also do not shop at Ethan Allen - had requested warranty on a wool carpet - come to find was never done. No help thereafter. Shop somewhere else if you are smart. read more

I worked with Pamela Anderson to find a chair to match my new bedroom furniture bought at another furniture store. The bedroom furniture has a rustic distressed finish. Ms. Anderson pushed me toward a distressed white finish. When the furniture arrived it had so little distressing that you can't see it. It is a solid white finish. I returned to the store to discuss this with Ms. Anderson and her response was that she liked it, as though my opinion did not matter. How condescending! read more

Ethan Allen had wonderful staff that was more than happy to spend time with my wife and I, helping us go through chair and table options, fabric options, etc. They offered free in-home design/planning/decorating/measuring as well as free delivery. They did it with a smile and, after two terrible experiences at Thomasville, were a pleasant and welcome surprise. Despite our young age (late 20's), the staff at Ethan Allen treated us with respect and seemed genuinely interested in helping us out. And the furniture is top-end too. Great stuff. We have nothing but high praise for our designer Nancy from the Roseville store. In 2003 when we got new furniture we bought from Ethan Allen so felt like it would be a good place to go. (that furniture we got from them is still in great condition, by the way, so we passed it down to our daughter. ) We are slowly re-designing our home and our first room was just completed. We had one piece of furniture to be painted (a beautiful piece from Ethan Allen.). and Nancy worked with that gentlemen to be sure it matched what we needed. We jut love Nancy, she has a real eye for color plus she works closely with you to be sure it is your style and what you want. The furniture we received was high quality and well made. Unfortunately one of our runner carpet was incorrect and Nancy immidiatedly started working to get it corrected. What we really enjoyed about our initial visit is we never felt pressured to buy, we were offered a home design visit, without an obligation. (we went into another design store before that and were offered a home visit but we had to almost agree to buy every piece of furniture from them ) So if was a pleasure to walk into Ethan Allen and never feel any pressure to buy. Again we enjoy the excellent customer service, follow through, beautiful furniture and as a bonus the gentlemen that delivered to us couldn't have been more kind and professional too. read more

My Husband and I live in New York City, do to Covid we were at my parent's home in CA. Purchased a new sleeper sofa from Ethan Allen Roseville to be delivered to NYC. Miss Amber Cooper was our Designer/ sales associate and was extremely helpful and has gone above and beyond to help us through this purchase. It took several months for the couch to be custom built, and once it was ready for delivery we ran into some trouble getting a hold of the east coast representative who would schedule the drop off. One call to Amber and she got me in touch with the right people. The sofa ended up not fitting through the door (The struggles of apartment life in NYC) but Amber once again saved the day and has helped us coordinate with their east coast shipping department and the "couch doctor" service that is available in these types of situations.) I was not thrilled with Ethan Allen's "over the phone customer service" here in New York. However, Amber made us feel so very taken care of and made this process so much easier. Design services are a joke. My husband and I made an appointment to see a design consultant (i.e. Salesperson) and were basically shown the door after refusing to provide a firm budget amount. I was told over the phone that a design appointment would be to determine our style and preferences, but one of the first things the saleswoman said when we sat down was that she expected us to buy their furniture. I felt this was a tactless start. She then asked specifically how much we planned to spend on a rug, to which I stated $1,500. This figure clearly did not meet with her approval as she then gave us a questionnaire and told us to return when we had a a more compatible budget. Had she taken a few moments to share some pricing, ideas, suggestions or samples, we could have easily moved forward, but because of this terrible and borderline humiliating experience, we will never return. read more

I think the furniture was nice...expensive but nice. From just the looks of things, furniture seemed well constructed. The reason I give them two stars, however, is because I don't feel the service was very good. I can probably buy anything in that store, but maybe I don't look like it...I guess. I did buy a clock but I thought they put me through the third degree. I mean, can't you at least act like you're happy to take my money? Barely a thank you. It won't stop me from going there if I want something but I'd feel more comfortable in the store if they acted like they appreciated my business. I'm really torn between two and three stars. Three stars for quality of merchandise vs. price (it's a little high) but two stars based on service. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt because I might buy something from them again.
