Ethan Allen Custom bed and ottomans
    Ed Y.

Quality furnishings at a fair price. Initially we went to Ethan Allen after seeing an ad for bar stools. We were 3 months into a serious bar stool search and couldn't find what we liked. We met designer, Diana Jorgensen and shared what wanted. Diana took the time to get to know us and our design esthetic. Not only did we instantly appreciate the the quality of the barstools, but also the vast fabric choices! Eventually, we ordered a sofa, ottoman, two chairs, a bed, draperies and far more pillows than we probably needed (when you find the perfect fabrics to coordinate with other furnishing, it's obvious your not going to find similar pillows in a typical retail establishment). Diana and Ethan Allen gave our home a custom look we love. Though Ethan Allen has been known for their traditional/classic furnishings, they also have more contemporary styles and beautiful quality fabrics for all tastes.

Ryan, one of the Ethan Allen delivery guys, unpacks our furniture.

I'd love to repay the kindness with a coffee or something. Five stars just for YOU! Such a doll! Second--THREE stars for the store! This shop is going downhill. More and more booths are looking like Hobby Lobby, and they are selling DIY things! A thrifted item glued to another thrifted item does NOT make a vintage item. I don't know if this is some new plague hitting all antique stores, or what, but it needs to stop! I saw a vendor booth selling SQUISHMALLOWS today! What on earth? More new-ish collectibles than ever are hitting this shop, and it's just really frustrating for those of us looking for actual vintage and antique items. Some of the booths look like hoarder homes. One booth looked like an old man's garage. No thank you. I mean, why?? Why are they so full of junk? I'm not stepping foot in a crammed full booth! I'm not sure what is going on here, but I do not like it.

Of course, we ended up leaving with candy, lotion, and some oil. World Market is honestly one of my favorite stores because they have such a huge variety of things you normally wouldn't find at a regular store. You can walk in looking for one thing and end up discovering all kinds of random stuff. They had everything from unique candy and snacks to different cooking oils and even hand soap in a bag, which honestly blew my mind. I especially enjoy checking out all the unusual snack and candy flavors they carry. Half the fun of coming here is just walking around and seeing what you can find. This location had the same fun feel as the other World Markets I've visited, and the staff was nice as well. Overall, our little side quest was a success. We found our candy and a few unexpected extras along the way. Definitely a fun stop before the movies!

Everything seemed super smooth sailing. We were told by 3 different people throughout the store that the CareFree package they offer is $375 and you get that money back in store credit if you don't utilize the services after 5 years. They allow up to 48 hours before delivery to make any adjustments to your order which is great. However, if you need assistance you have to talk to a customer service line and there's no store number. We went in to the store after attempting to talk to customer service and found out that the person we spoke to on the phone cancelled our order. We were told that one of the pieces in our order was on backorder and wouldn't be available for two months and they couldn't reserve any of the pieces until they made it to the warehouse. However, the sales manager made a comment that some of those pieces might already be promised to other orders, which is slightly confusing since we were told the pieces couldn't be reserved. After looking at both receipts, we noticed that the total for the carefree package was different and not $375, which was initially promised in store by several people. We then went back into the store to ask questions and were told that the carefree package is actually 15% of your purchase and not a flat fee of $375. We were also told that if you do not use the service within the five years, you don't automatically get that money back in store credit. You have to spend double of what the credit is before being awarded the store credit. For example, if the 15% comes out to $300, you have to spend $600 in store in order to activate the $300. None of this was told to us when we bought the couch .We wanted to go home and measure our living room before buying the couch to make sure it fit, however the man we dealt with pressured us into buying it by saying "just order it now and you have 48 hours to make changes to the order". There is a lot of fine print that they do not explain to you. If there's anything you get out of this, let it be that you make sure you ask questions about what the fine print is before they take your money! Remember, they care about making the sale, not about customer service and a quality experience.

The shop is beautifully staged and items displayed. Most everything is clearly marked with prices. Pricing is not astronomical. Good quality items that will last. In the Sacramento area there are two locations with this being one of them. The other is in downtown Sacramento. Parking in that regard is much better at the Fountains since Wear Elm's building is on the peripheral right there with its own parking lot. Several handicapped parking spaces right in front. I personally don't recall any issues with customer service at the shop. I've been a customer for quite awhile having bought bedding, kitchen serving ware, and living room furniture ( with home delivery). But this place can get busy on the weekends and as par for the course now days in retail; they might not have enough staff to accommodate the occasional influx of customers. So customers may have to wait for individualized immediate attention. I understand that.
