All that I need in a casual cafe. First visit here since it moved out of W'dorf (and changed mgmt?). Fine menu with a plethora of lunch/sandwich choices. Wish I was a coffee drinker as they put out a nice set of choices to fill the big mug they give you. A friend and I just had breakfast and the omelettes were excellent. As another reviewer suggested, probably could use a couple more unique-ish choices for breakfast (like blueberry/strawberry waffles or chocolate crepes - I'm just saying...). Small piques: Buy better OJ and toast the English muffins a little more. Nice atmosphere, simple and clean. Friendly people. The bakery goods look delicious and add to the ambiance, even if I never did get to reduce their inventory. read more

This was a second visit to eat for indoor dining. Food was fair. One employee (young lady who appeared to be in her early 20's) was extremely nice and probably the nicest person that was there during this visit. Nice place - Very CHICKcentric. The decor is something every girlfriend will love. Food menu is the same - all kinds of different salads and Panini style sandwiches.... 90% of the people sitting in the place are Female..... Breakfast is again a very female type thing.... lots of omelets and veggies. If as a dude, you prefer eggs, bacon, toast and potatoes from a greasy spoon - this is not the place for you. The reason for the 5 stars from a Dude: they have the BEST coffee and coffee cakes in the WORLD. Starbucks should call these ladies to teach them a few things. I go with the bosslady and get a coffee and sweet for breakfast and she gets what she wants and everyone is happy.... as long as I go home and make eggs and bacon and toast...... know your thing - this is not the place to go with your Bros for a meal. Just stopped in for something healthy before work, what a gem of a place!!! I got the Mandarin chicken salad and it was fantastic! Very generous portion and extremely fresh ingredients. I also love unsweetened iced tea and they had an assortment of freshly brewed ice teas including the one I got which was a blackberry jasmine green tea and it's AMAZING! The place was packed on a Friday afternoon and I got my salad in what felt like seconds after ordering!!! I absolutely love it here! I've only gotten takeout but today was the first day I stopped in. I was greeted by the friendly girl behind the counter who gave great and quick service. I ordered the combo of 1/2 roast beef and Swiss panini with a 1/2 house salad. I also grabbed a piece of banana cake and a raspberry pomegranate drink. My total was $15, which is super reasonable. I just moved back to the Reading area and was not looking forward to frequenting coffee chains... but then I found out about Crave! This might be my new favorite place in Berks County. There are a huge variety of baked goods, paninis, and salads, and that's without mentioning the COFFEE. I got a huge frozen chai for less than $4! There's free wifi and a quiet, homey atmosphere - it's the perfect place to get some work done or have a chat with friends. The service is wonderful - you can tell it's locally owned. After I got take out from here for the first time, I went back 3 times in just 2 weeks. The sandwiches are really delicious and the desserts are also very tasty. They have a big menu to suit most tastes. A couple of the ladies who manage the registers are so unpleasant however, that I've decided not to go back. It seems like they cater to their repeat customers as those are the ones who apparently know the menus by heart and are familiar with the ordering and fulfillment processes. The lady who handles orders at the dessert bar seems nice. She explains things (they have their own way of doing things which IMHO could be much more efficient and customer friendly). The other 2 ladies who take orders at the sandwich bar were on the verge of being rude every time I went there. The last time I went with a friend and the ladies were sour and snapped at us. We knew what we wanted and could have placed our orders quickly but they kept making us repeat ourselves. As the line of people behind us grew longer, the ladies got saltier as if it was someone else's fault that they had trouble inputting the orders. The same thing happened with my friend. What a cute cafe with plenty of seating and sweetly decorated. Service and food was quick, which I appreciated. They were flexible with my food due to food allergies, four stars for atmosphere, kindness and flexibility. Three stars definitely for food. Generic pickings where they switch around a little of this and that. My soup tasted like spaghetti-o's with overcooked rice. My veggie sandwich was good. I wouldn't go out of my way to stop here for food but if I was passing by and hungry I would return. We sadly did not try any of the delicious looking desserts. read more

First time here and first impression was not good. I entered the cafe and it was not immediately clear if I was supposed to seat myself so I asked a passing waitress and she said yes, just grab a table with menus or there are more on the rack. Perusing the menu as I watched three different servers bring food to nearby tables, I waited seven minutes until in frustration I went to the lady at the cash register asking if I was expected to order at the counter. Her facial expression let me know she thought I was an idiot. Yes, you order at the counter. They give you a little number stand so the servers know which tables get which orders. When mine was brought, the server noticed I had no silverware or napkins and let me know where I could walk to go get my own. I had the Turkey Bacon Avocado Paninno and it was just okay. Approaching the cashier to ask for a to go container for my leftovers, you guessed it, I was once again instructed where to go to get it myself. There is nothing wrong with this type of set up for a shop if it is made clear to the patrons with signs saying "Order Here" over the register as at many other edtablishments. And how about the cashier who takes your order letting you know to grab your utensils? They have 20 + tables in two dining rooms which does not seem like a serve yourself place. Oh well. read more

Went here today for the first time with a friend. We're always looking for places to eat and relax in the area. We really loved it here. The staff was super friendly, the cafe is very nicely decorated and the food we ordered was DELICIOUS! Their prices are very reasonable. We spent less than $30 for two pretty decently packed sandwiches( I got chicken salad, my friend got a ham & brie panini) salad, drinks and dessert. We will be coming back for sure!! read more

We love this place! It has such a relaxing atmosphere & good food. The coffee is delicious and the menu choices are refreshing. They do have a great choice of desserts, cookies and cakes. They advertise their daily soups and to go options which is nice. The staff is ALWAYS smiling & great to the kids (even when they are naughty). They have a small little stand in the back you can buy things at which is nice to look through while you are waiting for your food. I don't mind paying a bit extra for the food when you receive the type of service and warm feeling you get when eat here. My favorite time to visit is in the fall/winter time sipping coffee by the fireplace watching the snow come down. :) read more

Fro the chichy paints, to the over salted chicken soup; the poor choice in music to the generic and tasteless bread bulled as 'italian' bread which forms the basis for a disjointed panini, I can find no redeeming features to this 'cafe'. Even the chips are horrible, how do you even make chips that bad? Standards in this area seem to be lagging behind by about 20 be years. read more

I was visiting the area on Tuesday with my sister. We were both hungry and found the Crave Cafe online after a brief search and decided to have lunch there. We had a delightful experience and a delicious lunch. I had the Prosciutto and Pesto on a flatbread with chips and it was above par and very satisfying. My sister had the Avalon Salad and loved it but it was so large she took half of it home to enjoy later. I live in the York/Harrisburg area but I look forward to my next visit to Warnersville so I can eat at Crave Cafe again! read more

Tried this place at my wife's insistence (went kicking and screaming because most of the places in West Reading like this place kinda stink). The good news - this place is MUCH better than ANYTHING Reading has locally for lunch. There is not a close second. If you want something that is quick and delicious for lunch come here. I got the full panini and bowl of broccoli cheddar soup - fairly large portions and better than expected on both. Coffee is WAY better than any other local places including the coffee houses. Desserts are to DIE for.... they definitely use higher end products in their food - they use exclusively x virgin olive oil in their dressings and there is no iceberg filler in their salads.. all fresh field greens. The turkey is REAL turkey - not Subway lunch meat junk. Lunch for 2 adults - $25 but you dont walk out regretting your choices like you do at most of the places around here. If you like Mcdonalds you might want to pass because this place is not for you... but if you want REAL food with REAL service then here is the place. We have become regulars - once to twice a week... very glad I listened to her... probably should make a habit of that.... :-P read more
