Best breakfast I've ever had!!…read more When we arrived there was a short wait. They use a text to let you know your table is ready. Restaurant is clean, nice decor. Staff is excellent, friendly and seem to work together seamlessly. This restaurant is a well oiled machine! Food came out in timely manner and hands down the best breakfast ever. I had the classic Benny. And French toast.

When you walk in it's pretty busy, I went around 12:00 p.m. the wait time was about 30 minutes. I was with my friend, so we went back into the car and waited in there because there is not a lot of space in the lobby area and it seemed a little claustrophobic in the lobby. When we finally came in I wanted to order the western omelette and substitute the ham for steak and I found out that it will be an additional $12 on top of the meal price and or the chicken would have been $6 more. I decided to go with the veggie omelette. The food was pretty decent I would say it's like an upscale diner feel with a Mexican flair. It has many Mexican inspired dishes as well. The dishes have a nice presentation for the most part. I think I would come back again, it wasn't too bad for two people it was about $40.

My husband and I assessed Austin's differently. He ordered prime rib which he said was nothing short of perfect. Cooked medium rare as requested, tender, juicy -- he savored every bite. I scanned the menu. Nothing jumped out at me. (I generally don't gravitate to steakhouse-type restaurants.) I ordered a half rack of baby back ribs. My point of comparison is Longhorn's which offers more of a bang-for-a-buck, and in my opinion better tasting ribs. Not to say that Austin's aren't good. They are. Based on the popularity of Austin's, it's clear management knows what they're doing. But I think a small salad and baked potato should be available with the price of the entree -- not worth the extra $7 I was going to be charged. The salad is listed as 'field greens,' -- which it's not -- but reading the menu you'll see they mean iceberg and romaine. The salad was good, enhanced by their garlic ranch dressing. We washed down our meals with well-priced drinks: merlot ($8.90) and Blue Moon ($6.90), then splurged on dessert. Austin's flourless double chocolate brownie a la mode is very rich. One order for two adults is plenty. Austin's is aptly described as a family restaurant. A lot of kids. A lot of noise. Service is friendly and on-the-ball. While not my kind of restaurant, if prime rib is your thing -- this could be the place!

No misses on any of their meals, though the sweet cream pancakes are a particular standout, as are the bananas foster French toast with orange brandy (!!!). Huge portions. Plus, on weekdays they hand out complimentary mimosas. My only possible complaint is the access to condiments. The coffee does not automatically come with cream, and it's not on the self-serve shelf with the sugar packets. Likewise, the toasted English muffins do not come buttered and they don't ask about whether you want it at the register. So sometimes you have to get up multiple times to ask for the basic things. Service is friendly and prompt and I LOVE that the music is chill jazz and piano. It's a great environment to meet up with friends or even to bring your laptop and work for an hour. It does get pretty busy at peak times in late morning (like 10-11:30 am) but they have a really nice patio out front that will double the table space once the weather warms up.

The latte was excellent, but a bit smaller than expected size. The ambiance was at first quite quiet and peaceful, but almost instantly became crowded and above average noise level. If you have difficulty drowning out background noise, I would not recommend visiting during peak hours as tables are also close together. Unfortunately I didn't take photos of my food as we were there for a business meeting, but I assure you I would recommend.

I'll never forget watching the continuation of game 5 of the 2008 World Series here when this was…read moreknown as Santino's. I mean I guess it wasn't that long ago, but it feels like a lifetime has passed in between. The bar that night was full of familiar faces. Groups of friends from both Wilson and Wyomissing neighborhoods had been unified with a common aspiration. After nearly two full days of agonizing rain delays, we were all about to witness the Phils bring the city of Philadelphia its first championship in 25 years (since 1983, before so many of us there that night were even born). This isn't Santino's of course, but it's impossible to separate those memories, which is probably the case for many of the folks still coming here who can remember fondly the mingling with family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. I'm glad this remained a restaurant and didn't turn into another spa or something. It's a bit harder to go to a spa and think hey I used to drink Jaegerbombs right over there by the koi pond and speaker playing soothing rainforest sounds. You can tell just by the sequence of naming conventions (from "Santino's" to "Tino's" to finally "State Hill Craft Cocktails & Kitchen") the kind of vibe they're going for here. The "Tino's" era, though brief, proved that you could keep the neighborhood charm and just slightly ratchet up the presentation, especially in the food and bar departments. Over time the menu has shifted from fine-casual Italian to more upscale comfort food, with wagyu meatloaf, lobster mac & cheese, and the always elegant, always dashing meatloaf patty melt. State Hill Craft Cocktails & Kitchen or whatever iteration of dining establishment will be there 15, 20 years from now (Luxe Carwash expansion perhaps) will bring together members of the community that wouldn't ever otherwise cross paths. New friendships will form, and old ones will strengthen. The atmosphere was electric that night in Santino's nearly 20 years ago. Everyone was elated, even people who didn't watch sports were happy because they could see other people were happy. For one night we could push everything else aside, the weight of responsibility and care lifted from our backs. A reminder that joy could be had, and our existences, though flawed, remained full of promise with even better days ahead. This is probably the least helpful review you've ever read LOL
