Visited Crave Kabob this week and I wish they had more locations because the food was amazing! The staff was very friendly and answered all of my questions and the food is pretty good for the price. I got the Crave bowl with steak and chicken kabob with the spicy byriani rice. Also a side of fries and the mint smoothie. I liked my food a lot, the one complaint is the rice was a bit cold. But the meat was very flavorful and yummy. There is plenty of seating and the bathrooms were clean. They need more locations, some of the best Halal I have had in the city! read more

I expected more meat for my entrees or bigger pieces of meat, or I should say,compared to what other Mediterranean restaurants usually serve. Friggin phenomal food for sit down or take out. Try to bowl- tasty and economical. The fresh mint lemon slushy is a hit also on a hot day.

The location has parking, it's really clean, nice TVs, great staff, but the food was just okay. I had the chicken kabob entree. My chicken was really dry and I actually like dry chicken but this was too dry and lacked flavor. The fries were delicious and I liked the hummus. read more

I was looking for somewhere I could get a good bowl from besides Chipotle, Roti, or Naf Naf, and Crave did not disappoint. The employees were so kind and let us sample things that we weren't sure about. The lentil soup had me scraping the bowl and the bowl that I created was delicious as well. I've never left a review for a restaurant or anything on yelp but this had to be the worst shawarma wraps I've ever tasted in my life. Like I could go to the smallest shop in the suburbs and get a shawarma wrap for 5 dollars and it would taste better than what ever this was. Nothing was done right it wasn't even wrapped correctly. I love this place for their bowls. I've only had the chicken shawarma and the falafel bowls, but goshhhhh are they good. The falafel is always crispy and perfectly seasoned, and the shawarma is never dry. Good stuff!! I have been looking for a close Mediterranean place and found it!! It's one of 3 storefronts of a strip mall that doesn't face the street. But it's a cool hidden gem. It's simple design, warm colors and friendly staff was a welcoming place. The seating area on the ground floor is narrow. But had 3 TVs within viewing. Nice touch for any hockey fanatics as the UC is down the street. The value for the portion is on point. I like the crave bowl. Although this being the third visit I had several bites of hard rice. They put the sauce and salad on and it over powers the food. The sauce should be on the side in containers. When you mix it all up the sauce and salad the flavors aren't the same. Next time the same sauce and same salad. I like the fact you get 2 sauces and 2 salads but the same of each keeps the food tasting the same with each bite. They have a loyalty program but you pay $5 a month and each trip you get 20% off. It's worth it if you eat here often. But it won't work for me. There is a small parking lot in which it shares with Dunkin Donuts and Subway. But it's almost on the corner so you have to be cautious when leaving the lot. Big fans of this place! We stumbled upon it but have been going back ever since. Lots of selection, good veggie options, a lot of customization as well with the bowls. Great service, great food, great value for money and they have their own parking lot. Then Why didn't I give 5? Coz of the homeless lady who kept asking for money from the time we parked the car and she just made us uncomfortable when she came inside the restaurant asking for money. Only 1 table was occupied in the restaurant apart from ours but still she managed to come in and no one stopped her. I hope this was one off situation but if not, if you are okay with homeless people bothering you, this restaurant is highly recommended. read more

I go here 4 times out of the week, use to love eating here but the spicy rice which I order daily is not always fresh nor spicy, some days the spicy rice is delicious and some days it taste old, not fresh, not spicy and this is the sixth time I've experienced this, I hate paying and not getting what I paid for. I come here a lot because it use to be consistent with the flavor of the food, the freshness and the lady at the front desk and the owner are always friendly and helpful but with this current issue I might be forced to look elsewhere for my food options if this problem continues. read more

Beware when ordering... I wish I read the Google reviews about the small portions and quality of food before I tried this spot. I got the Chicken Shawarma Bowl and received a handful of food. For the price, it was absolutely not worth it. I spoke to "Sam"? who identified himself as owner/operator. He explained that my selection of No Rice and only choosing Arabic salad was my own error and is the reason the bowl was so small. I assumed by selecting No Rice, the bowl would be filled with the other option selected so you could get your monies worth at least. I don't understand how any business owner could be satisfied sending this amount of food out the door. This is one of my favorite places to eat. The food is always fresh and delicious and the owner is really nice: this is such a welcoming place. I have eaten hummus in Tunisia, in East Jerusalem, in London, in New York, and...here! Honestly, their hummus is the best I have ever tasted.It is amazing. This was one of the smallest gyros I've had in the Chicagoland area. Ate this as a sandwich, and barely a small piece of meat fell off. From most places, I need to take half the meat off to eat it. The Tzatziki sauce hardly covered the top layer, so dry as cracker juice. I should have known better when I ordered a (yee-roh) and the person behind the counter said (ji-roh), THIS should have been a clue. At $11 for just the sandwich, it was $5 overpriced. I was so happy to find this restaurant across the street from the madhouse that is Village Crossing. It's a quiet, big space with all of the traditional Middle Eastern/Lebanese specialties. The food was delicious, prepared to order and plentiful. Cleanliness  they didn't have dine-in due to COVID so it's hard to determine how they maintained the location. Crave Kabob  it's a place for a quick bite. There's no ambiance at all. Service  very friendly staff. All smiles and radiating with happy vibes. Pricing the sandwiches are pretty big for $7, you can make a combo meal for $10. It's pretty cheap. Taste  I tried both chicken and beef shawarma. They both blew me away. I thought it was going to be bland and dry but it had a very flavor going on with their juicy meats. I think this is my new go-to spot when I'm in the area. read more

We came for a quick lunch, and discovered a new favorite. Everything was great. We had Greek Salad, a Veggie Sandwich and a Gyro. Plus fries. All of it was truly delicious. This place is hit or miss. I order from here about once a week and it's usually pretty good in flavor, there's so much potential but it just seems to be going downhill or they're scaling back for costs. My two main complaints are that the bowls now barely have a half scoop of toppings and a drop of sauce, a girl just wants some veggies with her meat and rice. Secondly are the fries, which are either perfect or undercooked. I've never ate inside so can't attest to that but I do pick up my order to-go frequently (parking is easy in front) and the music is pretty loud inside. Overall I'll prob keep ordering but just less frequently since I could make it at home for cheaper... also hummus grill and shawarma garden are my alternatives for cheaper, still delicious options in the area. read more

Just moved to the area and ordered this for dinner tonight. It was the worst "Mediterranean" I have ever had. Steak was so overcooked, it wasn't even edible. Seasoning is almost non existent. Such an amazing option for lunch and dinner. I'm so glad that they opened up here - i'm always on the hunt for some good shawarma and would normally have to go all the way up to Wicker Park for my fix. They're fast and everything is always made to order. I've never had a bad experience here. While they are a little bit more pricey for their larger platters, I will say that their portions and flavor are all on point. Their competitors don't come close when it comes to getting that perfect seasoning on their meats and rice. It's seriously better than any other joint even up north. From the shawarma to the kufta kabobs, Crave Kabob is my new spot for a hefty middle eastern lunch/dinner. I definitely suggest getting the larger Mixed Grill Platter.
