We chose Crave today for our post Mass dining. I like their drop coffee and their bar has competent mixology skills. This time it was just coffee though. Grecia was an efficient server and steadily checked on us to make sure we were okay. It is a fairly popular place for breakfast, but we best the post church rush at 1000 am. Not too noisy, but let me tell you it got busy fast. They have indoor and covered outdoor dining. It was a beautiful day for outside dining in El Paso. This time I tried the Monte Cristo sandwich. The ham and melted Swiss cheese was covered by French 'Texas' toast. It was a good sandwich, but the toast could have been crossed a little better...but not a bad sandwich at all The kids enjoyed their meals. Liz did not share any of her hatch chile and egg tacos. So this is the newest location and I've been to them all. I only have one complaint was the egg white they provided me. It was drowning in oil or butter which ever they use and I had to send it back for them to finish cooking the egg. It wasn't appealing. Other than that great. The food and the service were great! The restaurant itself was very nice and warming and welcoming. Our waitress was very polite and patient with us since we had a very large party. The shrimp tacos were super tasty. The shrimp itself was seasoned so well, I could've eaten them by themselves. My shrimp tacos also came with two sides, which I got the spicy Mac and cheese along with some asparagus. When I say my food was great, it's not an exaggeration. My dining experience was uncomfortable and disappointing due to the behavior of Manny, the general manager. He made inappropriate comments to kitchen staff and servers about his sexual life, which is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Hearing and witnessing this kind of behavior from management created an awkward and hostile atmosphere that ruined the experience. One thing I must say about the food at Crave is not only are the flavors on point but it's consistent at each of their locations. This one is nice and quaint and a bit tucked away from the busier parts of El Paso. My favorite thing is how many of their dishes offer two sides and the sides alone are worth visiting. Staples for everyone I've gone with are the hatch green mac and cheese and their sweet potato fries. My most recent obsession is their ahi tuna sandwich. I can't believe I just barely converted to ordering that dish because I would eat it weekly if possible. Their prices are more than fair and Crave is a must every time I'm back in time. Unfortunately a disappointing visit. We have always loved Crave but today was not great. Not sure of it's the new location or just how busy they are but the food was subpar. Our old favorites, the seared ahi tuna and Mac n cheese was not what it has always been. Our burgers were not cooked to medium, they were well done with very little flavor. Boyfriend and I visited this newest location after swinging by the now-closed one on Resler (and realizing it was closed!), after not having been to Crave in a long while. Unfortunately, we were not impressed with our food one bit, and l, for my part, was disappointed. First off, the chilaquiles my boyfriend ordered lacked about half of the green sauce you'd expect when ordering chilaquiles. His "sunny-side up" eggs came with fully uncooked whites! A sunny-side up egg is meant to have the white part fully set, but I guess this is news to a brunch place! I also noticed that the portion sizes have greatly decreased... which wouldn't be a problem, but the prices have not gone down in tandem. For example, the "Strawberry French Toast" was actually worth its price years ago, but no more. It's half the size it used to be, but now it's $12! Finally, I find it incredibly unfair and ridiculous to be charged 2 whole dollars for a side of ranch! For my entree's side, the fries, I asked for NO ketchup. You would think the ranch, which I asked to substitute the ketchup, would be free, not in addition, as they did not bring me a ketchup! All in all, I'm mad we didn't take photos or complain about the lack of sauce and the extra runny eggs. I also should've inquired about the ranch fee. The Good: food is fresh and incredibly delicious. Portion sizes are huge. The Bad: service was horribly slow. We had to wait way too long to get our food. No coffee refills. Wait staff gathered in groups for chit chat instead of taking care of business. The Ugly: quite expensive. For breakfast, I had Chicken fried steak and eggs; my wife had a chorizo scramble. Two coffees. Tab was $50 with tip. The food is good enough to overcome the dead slow service. It's worth a wait if I'm not starvng. I never had breakfast at Crave before, so stopped by this morning. I was impressed by the breakfast selections. You could choose pancakes, French toast, or various egg dishes. I had eggs this morning along with Earl Grey tea. Service was great and the atmosphere was just right. The bathrooms are differebt here as the sink is located in a differebt area from the toilet. I'm not sure why but it made the entire area look very clean. They take good care to keep the bathroom areas clean which tells you something about the business. Other businesses don't take the time to clean up this area which I think is important. I'm sure I will stop by again for breakfast soon. read more

First time here, this place is cozy , when I arrived I waited to be greeted and seated . I waited a few minutes, it wasn't busy. I order the big breakfast bowl with blue berry panini the side. I also had the cucumber mint agua fresh, the beverage has a nice balance of mint and cucumber. It was refreshing especially since the weather is a bit hot. If you want your drink a bit more minty just stab the straw around and you can get it more minty refresher drink. Omg!!! The big breakfast was amazing, but they used thick cut bacon. I had to order another fried eggs on the side . Everything was cook to perfection . The pancakes were okay and basic . Nothing about it was special . They did use real blueberries instead of rehydrated ones. Ambience of the place is nice, they have background music but the service was slow but the what I had was amazing!!! Unfortunately this Crave location is not as good as the one that was on Resler Dr. I've always ordered the huevós rancheros w the eggs over medium. My eggs came out over easy I sent it back for a redo and the eggs came back over hard. Terrible! I guess the cook didn't like that I sent the plate back. The Sunset and Resler locations have consoladated at a brand new location at 6470 North Desert, Suite K-101. Many of the former staff and of course the same great food are still here. I used to love this place but lately the quality has gone downhill. The fries are premade and put on a bowl that "keeps them warm" and they grab from that for orders. We have gotten cold fries the last 4 times we've gone. We did a take out order and cold fries again. No utensils for salad and no napkins. Really? They then ask the famous question: tip. I don't think tips are necessary on to go orders as they aren't doing anything to earn it. Customers are now the ones that pay the wages of restaurant employees. It's kind of crazy..... read more

We sat at the bar top because it was full and it was sticky and dirty. The manager was working hard and seemed over worked. The food was amazing, definitely made up for the sticky icky. Gave it a try again. They are now located at the west side marketplace, next to Panera Bread. I ordered a "Harvest Bowl", but the Kale was't good. It was starting to go bad. It didn't taste right. This place charges you the credit card fee if you pay with a card. So I paid in cash. The manager saw me getting the cash out and immediately came to our table , he didn't even let me put the money on the table. He probably thought I was going to leave without paying. So sad..Crave has been my go to for good food and good service. We arrived at 3:30, only 2 other tables. Two tables came in after us which got their food first. I waited for my cocktail for 15 minutes past my husband and friend getting their beers. The people came in after got served. We waited for over an hour. Our food finally arrived but when we complained, no apology, no accommodation. Worst experience ever! No more Crave on Resler. They need a new manager. So, after my husband complained..again, they comped our meals. A simple apology and a dessert or drink would have done the trick, instead, no apology, no offer of a comp from the get go, instead, we got the entire meal. Sad. We tipped well. read more

I normally don't make an effort to pan a bad or indifferent restaurant, but on Yelp Crave presents such an abundance of positive reviews that we had much higher expectations. Only after our experience did we more carefully go through the reviews and realized that it wasn't an aberration. My wife ordered a salad, which was decent. My side salad was acceptable as well. But my ribeye arrived cool and salted beyond the pale. I had thought of slathering it with A-1 sauce to cover the taste, but Crave only offers their sauce which is as corn syrup sweet as the steak was salty. So for the first time in my life I sent back a steak. I chose a chicken option in its place which, 40 minutes later, was merely acceptable. At this point the time I spent with an empty drink glass while the waiter chatted with his peers amidst an otherwise empty restaurant began to grate on my nerves. Cut to the chase, Crave did not seem like a highly rated restaurant. Perhaps this less visited outpost isn't up to the caliber of other locations. Perhaps an early Tuesday evening meal with with just one couple seemed to not be worth any effort or discipline. Perhaps this place has just gone down hill, from bad management or workers. Perhaps the truth is that we looked at better reviews for a Crave at a different location without realizing that we had motored to another address. I really don't care. My wife and I are foodies who feel as though we waisted a meal time at Crave. We don't live here, so won't be back, and I'd recommend that other travelers to be not so quick to assume that a four star rating will get them even a one star experience. read more

Jacob, the bartender, was truly a delight serving us our beverages with engaging and witty banter and conversation. July 18th-19th, I had an overnight stop in El Paso on my road trip from Corpus Christi back home to Arizona. I had traveled alone with my three month old baby who hadn't slept very well overnight, and even though the hotel had a great breakfast, I got a hankering for something a bit more special. Knowing I had a long drive ahead of me, I decided to treat myself to a breakfast I couldn't get just anywhere. Who wouldn't fancy a nice cup of coffee, a decadent hot chocolate, and a juicy medium rare steak with eggs and a side of pancakes? Eggs and steak arrive, and unfortunately the steak was well done and the eggs very dry. The pancakes arrived a while later, and although the baby and I were at a four-top and had ample table space, the waitress put the pancakes on the table *next* to me. Bizarre. The most annoying part of my visit, however, was after I ordered the Nutella hot chocolate. I heard a member of the kitchen crew say, "It's 100 degrees outside... who orders hot chocolate?" Rude. My question is, "If you don't want people ordering it, why is it on your menu?" It was such a disappointment, knowing I'd given up a perfectly decent brekkie at the hotel. Sure, I could eat the same boring hotel breakfast anywhere, but at least I'd know it would be good. And I'd not have to hear snotty comments about what I order... read more

Food was meh, customer service was terrible. We never got our silverware...my wife was brought salad and I had to go get her silverware from the hostess, even after asking our server. My food came out and the pancakes were burnt all over the bottom. I wouldn't have known had I not smelled something burning. I sent them back. Meanwhile I was eating my eggs and hashbrowns and noticed they lacked salt at all. My wife's food was finally brought and I asked the server brining the food if I could please have salt and pepper...she never came back. I had to go back to the hostess and what they gave me was a barely filled container of salt. Finally my pancakes came back. But to no surprise In was missing butter and ketchup, two items I had asked for prior to getting my pancakes remade. The cherry on top? I asked for a to go box which was brought to me, however our server somehow dropped the salt container onto the floor and proceeded to place the bottle onto my plate with pancakes, rendering the food dirty. She apologized but never even offered to replace the pancakes. I was so shocked and said not to worry about it but afterwards realized that she really should have offered me new pancakes when I'd only eaten one of three. And somehow my bill was $10 more than what it should've been but in all the excitement of the dropped salt shaker I signed my bill away only to realize it was definitely an overcharge. $52.00 do a haystack meal that's 12.50 and a chicken and waffles meal that's $21.00 with 7.00'l for drinks. I definitely won't be coming back to this restaurant. They are incompetent. read more

We decided to try this locale for breakfast. It had high reviews on Yelp, and being new to the area; we wanted to give it a go. We are glad we did! Breakfast was delicious! I had the No Brainer breakfast sandwich, and my husband had a Whole Hog scramble. Both were served hot, and they were very tasty. It has to be said, breakfast was pricey, $27.00 for two, before tipping. We are relocating from the Midwest (Michigan), and there you can get breakfast for $10.00 for two! Doesn't any restaurant in El Paso do breakfast specials? We will definitely return, but not regular weekend guests. It will be occasional for a treat. The manager Brandi introduced herself and was very pleasant, and she was a very gracious host. We will also go again for a dinner to see if that food will be as good. Let me start by saying that my wife and I love this restaurant. We rarely find something on the menu not worth ordering a second time... but the Whole Hog Burger was awful. Hamburger, a burnt piece of bacon, a small spread of chorizo, a thin slice of ham, and brown guac spread... SOUNDS delicious... very dry and blah. What would it hurt to add a slice or two of avocado and some seasoning. The Ahi Tuna Tostata was absolutely . My wife got it with the corn and apple slaw. Yes... we will order that one again. Also, the sweet potato fries were amazing. We got them 10 minutes after my burger... which sucked, but we ended up eating them as our dessert with the cinnamon spread they gave us. read more

Oh man, what can I say about Crave besides the fact that it is probably one of my favorite places to eat in El Paso. Location - Crave currently has three locations - east, west, and central. The central location (the OG) has very limited parking, but luckily I live on the West side and this location has plenty of parking. However, it can get filled up during dinner time. Ambiance - The West location is fairly lively, always filled with people chatting over food. I was here with 6 other people and it wasn't too loud or difficult to hear each other talk. Service - The service was great! We had a fairly big party and came at a busy time, so it took a while to get seated. However, they were attentive and tried to get us seated as soon as they could. Food - Hands down, my favorite thing here is the green chile chicken and waffles and their sweet potato fries. I don't know what they do but it is delicious and makes it so hard to even want to order anything else. The chicken is tender and the green chile adds a nice extra bit of flavor. The sweet potato fries comes with a marshmellow sauce where the sweetness balances out the fries very well, making it addictive. I've tried other sides and they were also good, but the sweet potato fries are a must try. Pricing - Crave is a little pricier than your average restaurant, but the portions are huge and most of the entrees come with your choice of 2 sides (choose the sweet potato fries, always choose them). Overall, I love Crave and have successfully taken every visitor I've had from out of town here and they have equally loved it as well.
