Bad service sitting there for 15 no menus. And restaurants was not busy. The bar tender was very rude.

I've been to Toro several times and service is always friendly and courteous, and the food is great. A lot of restaurants have a Monte Cristo on the menu, when they're just serving French toast on some cold cuts & cheese, rather than making an actual Monte Cristo...which is real turkey, ham, & cheese in bread that's then completely dipped in batter and deep fried. With raspberry preserves for dipping. Bennigan's & Disneyland have good ones, and Toro has one too. The Tipsy Chicken and other sandwiches are good too, and I love their creativity with the menu, as well as the fun shots the bartender makes. When my godfather was visiting for his birthday, we asked them to put a candle in something for him, and they came up with S'mores with was super fun. read more

My family and I came with some friends (party of 6) to have dinner. There were just 2 servers working that evening. They were also the hosts and bar staff. I've been to this location before and service was not the best. Decided to try it again in hopes that was an isolated incident. Nope. It was just as slow and there weren't many people there for dinner. I believe it was our party and 2 other tables of 4. We ordered drinks and that a while to get. My husband's was warm. Our drinks barely had ice in. Them. My daughter and I shared a burger. I specifically wanted one that had bacon and of course it was not in the burger. I didn't complain or ask for it. Overall I was let down with the service once again. It's sad because it is in a great location and the possibilities are endless for them to grow. Food was very filling! We were full with just the tots. I think we would order just the tots in the future. The avocado rose was a sweet touch! This was so delicious! I did not take a picture of my husband's avocado toast, and he did not like the onion flavor. It comes with pickled onion and the avocado toast tasted like onion juice had been added or maybe it was on top before arriving to the table. I like onions so this would not have bothered me personally. The meat on my whole hog was a bit dry. It this, too, was a very filling meal! I thought the amount of food was amazing for the price! We had the huge breakfast tots plate, avocado toast, and whole hog omelette (also huge plate) for 40$. Place was clean and inviting. Service was amazing! Adan was friendly and kept checking in on us. I went to Elpaso for funerals. After the viewing it was late to have a large group of people anywhere. This place accepted having the whole group. I totally understand not having a good service for this large amount of people. However the food was not edible! I ordered a gluten free bun. It was straight out of the freezer old... falling apart! So let's start this off this place has by far the best fried pickles I've had in years honestly if it was just the fried pickles I was reviewing they would have been a five out of five but unfortunately I had more than that on this visit. So the burger me and my wife tried were the booze burger and blue cheese burger and I can say for the booze burger the cheese sauce had good flavor but a bad consistency and the French fries were awful cold fries from McDonalds taste better. We walked in around 9pm on a Sunday--not exactly late considering they close at 11pm--but the vibe was completely uninviting. The restaurant was empty, yet the staff looked irritated that we even walked through the door. As locals who regularly support all the restaurants in this area, this was a letdown. The young man with glasses didn't bother to turn around and greet us--just lazily looked over his shoulder and said, "sit anywhere." No welcome, no eye contact, nothing. It felt like we were interrupting their night instead of being valued as paying customers. To make matters worse, the kitchen staff in the back was loudly cursing, and their foul language could be heard throughout the restaurant. Completely unprofessional. It makes you wonder if management needs serious training on basic hiring practices--or if the owners have just checked out entirely. Either way, we won't be back. At this rate, it wouldn't be surprising to see this place shut down soon. Hopefully, whatever opens here next will take pride in their service and their customers. read more

They have a wide variety of brunch items from traditional eggs Benedict to chilaquiles verdes to burgers to waffles. The price point is very reasonable across the board, ranging from $1 mimosas to $10.99 for the crab cake Benedict (the most expensive item on the brunch menu). My favorite part, $1 mimosas & $10 mimosa pitchers.. Sign me up! Our server was friendly & attentive. We chose to sit on the patio but that didn't delay our service time at all. I have been to Toro a few times now. The first time I tried it I got one of their Boar Exotic burgers and it was incredibly tasteless and dry. This past time I also got the fiery green Chile cheesburger hoping for some flavor but was met with the same unfortunate fate. The burgers here for some reason just have no taste even thought the ingredients seem to be decently fresh (the only reason this isn't a 2 star review). The Chile lime fries in all honesty stole the show and will definitely get those again. Overall, if you are looking for a good burger place, probably look somewhere else because this place isn't it. read more

This is a great spot in a fabulous location. I came on a Sunday evening after running some errands and I just did not feel like cooking. I knew I wanted a good burger so the choice was easy to come here. I ordered some fried pickles and they were the entire spears, breaded and fried to a wonderful crispness. I ordered the Blue Burger which was an Angus beef burger topped with blue cheese and red wine braised onions. So delicious! I ordered onion rings as a side and they were nice an crispy and did not come apart. The carrot cake I ordered for dessert was pretty big and I was able to slice it in half and take half home. As a matter of fact, I took half of everything home (trying to minimize portions without sacrificing). I have a tasty lunch and snacks for tomorrow! The reason I gave it four stars and not five (the service was on point as well) is that I ordered my burger medium and it came with no pink. read more

We loved coming to this place for brunch. This last visit was not great. The prices on the website are lower than in store. We ordered the mimosa pitcher listed for $10 on the menu as we figured we would be ordering more than 10 mimosas and it would be a better deal and had done so in the past and was something we really liked about this place. However when the "pitcher" came, it was a bottle on ice and was only 6 mimosas worth. We felt totally cheated and asked the waitress about it. She looked at us and said yeah sorry they changed it to the bottle and did not have anything else to say or offer so we asked for the manager. She left to get him but came back without him saying that the bottle has more liquor than an individual would have and that we were getting more liquor for the price. The rest of our meal was good but the manager never came. We got the check and asked for him again. He finally came this time and apologized and said he was stuck in the kitchen. He explained that they changed the "pitcher" to a bottle and that we were actually getting the bottle cheaper than us buying it in the store and did offer to get us more mimosas but at that point we were already leaving. As the customer, I don't give a Sh*t. If I'm paying for a pitcher then I don't expect to feel cheated. It would have been better for us to buy 10 individual drinks than 6 for the same price. Either way, I'm getting cheated out of juice or liquor and most definitely my money. The manager agreed. Overall, I still like this place but will be more careful with their predatory liquor scam. read more

We gave this place a 2nd chance and so glad we did! They seem to be under new management and have turned this place around. Restaurant is clean, inviting and wait staff was amazing. The food quality and presentation is excellent!! Management is present and [very] attentive to the customers and his staff. We will definitely be back! Last time we were there (approximately 1+ year ago), we had a horrible experience. Customer service was horrible, food order was wrong, food was cold and didn't come out at same time for everyone at our table.
