Me and my lady were thinking of what to do for dinner, so of course I turned to Yelp to see what we were gonna find. I came across Crave Mediterranean Grill. I have to say after not having Mediterranean food in a while I wasn't sure what to expect. The place was absolutely clean!When walking in your hit with greeting and the good smell of the meats. Service was great! I didn't understand some things on the menu and the employee manning the cash register had more than enough knowledge on everything and was able to clear it up for me. Asked for some accommodations and they were met with quick yes's! I ordered the Beef Shwarma Plate and it was soooooo good! The meat was so tender and flavorful! The serving size was more than enough! It can easily be two servings. Comes with sides of humus and salad. I love humus and this was some of the best humus I've had before! Couldn't more happy with my plate. My girlfriend had the gyro, the thing was packed!! She said it was a 10/10 for her and she's kinda picky either way food. I was seeing a patient here in El Cajon and decided to stop by and grab a quick bite. They have a build your own for $12.50 and extras for the proteins and have plenty of options for toppings. It was pretty pricey $25 total, but everything tasted fresh! I still prefer a cava bowl over this place personally, which is a little cheaper as well. There are about 4 tables inside and some tables outside as well. The service was quick and efficient. Staff were all friendly and gave great recommendations. As another reviewer mentioned, I was excited to try this place because of the high ratings. We normally frequent Sahara Mediterranean just up the road but wanted to give Crave a try. The place is located near the Soapy Joe's shopping plaza and the restaurant was clean. Customer service was very friendly. We ordered the ribeye tikka plate and chicken shawarma wrap. In placing the order, they allowed us to swap the fattoush salad for tabbouleh for the plate and no pickles for the chicken wrap. Unfortunately, the ribeye was tough and bland, the garlic sauce didn't really help it either. The tabbouleh was pretty liquidy and didn't taste that great. The chicken shawarma was tasty but the wrap only had the chicken and slight spread of garlic sauce, seemed like it was still lacking. The pita and hummus was very good though. I was excited to see a new middle eastern place here in Rancho San Diego unfortunately I did not love it. We ordered the greek salad, the chicken tikka bowl with salad and rice and a side of hummus. Crave Mediterranean has recently taken over Wagyu Shawarma Grill at this location. I had the chicken tikka wrap and a protein sampler plate. Unbeknown to me, when I ordered the chicken tikka wrap, I was not informed that I could add ingredients to the wrap, such as lettuce, tomatoes, onions, avocado etc. As a result, the warp was quite skinny for the for the $13.50 price tag. Being able to add more ingredients from a list inside the wrap makes the cost of the wrap more plausible, and it doesn't hurt that it's is quite delicious. The chicken tika was very tasty, tender, and juicy. I really liked the sauce it came with, and the wrap flat bread wrap was very good, too. I like the way it soaked up the juice from the chicken and sauce. The protein plate came with a beef Kabob, chicken and beef shawarma, cream chop or fried chicken, falafels, and a piece of pita. My favorite was the beef Kabob, which was outstanding in flavor, texture, and appearance. Both Shawarmas were very good. They were both seasoned well and tender. I really like the cream chop. It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The falafels are made in-house, and they are quite crispy and tasty. The place offers inside and outside seating. I'm in town visiting family and my aunt heard about this new restaurant that opened up, so we decided to give them a try. The restaurant is tucked away in a corner location within the plaza, so it can be hard to miss especially if you're not looking for it. It is also on the smaller side, with four tables for inside dining. When you walk in, staff immediately greets you and the menu is displayed right in view at the top. They offer bowls (rice, salad, fries), with your choice of protein for an added cost (beef sharwarma, chicken sharwarma, chicken tikka, chicken cream chop, falafel), along with a selection of toppings (pickled vegetables, hummus, garlic sauce, and much more). In addition to the bowls, they offer a selection of plates that come with rice, meat, hummus and salad, wraps and salads as well as some dessert options. Everything is freshly made to order, right in front of you (as the kitchen is in view)! I ordered the chicken tikka sandwich, which is marinated chicken breast with pickles and garlic sauce. The chicken was perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful - and they don't skimp with the portions! My aunt got the falafel sandwich, which comes with hummus, pickled radish and tomato. I tried a piece of hers and the falafel was surprisingly good (I say surprising because - a lot of places make falafel on the drier side where it's almost hard to take a bite without dipping in a sauce to help it go down easier)! Above the food was the hospitality. Being a new business, the owner was attentive to the customers that dined in and were ordering take out. It's hard to find good service these days and you can tell the owner cares about his customers and values their input on the service and food. Overall, I would definitely come back and recommend to locals in the area! One of the tastiest gyros sandwiches I've tried. The warm thin flour wrap compliments the flavor of the generous portion of meat and veggies. We wanted gyros so we found this place and decided to try it based on the excellent reviews. The service was quick and welcoming. While small, the inside was neat and clean. I ordered the gyros wrap and my husband got the gyros plate. I've had gyros sandwiches many times and thought the price for their wrap was really high at $13.50. This is without any side or drink. Fries and a soda adds an extra $5, which we both ordered. When we got the food, I was amazed that my wrap was at least a foot long and looked like a burrito! It was different than any gyros sandwich I've ever had, being that large and wrapped in a thin, pastry type tortilla which was lightly grilled or baked. Most gyros sandwiches are open faced on a smaller, thick, round pita bread. Their wrap was loaded with traditional gyros meat, fresh tomatoes, red onions and tzatziki sauce. Absolutely delicious! The fries come in a cardboard box container that was very large as well. My husband's plate came with a very generous portion of the gyros meat, rice, a small salad, some pita bread pieces and hummus. He said it was good, but wished he would've gotten the sandwich because it has the onions and tomatoes with the sauce. The server offered us additional sauce though, so he was able to build mini sandwiches. My only request would be to offer a 1/2 size of the wrap because it was just way too large and it's not as good left over because of the fresh veggies and tzatziki sauce which have to be taken out before reheating. We also took home a lot of fries. If I'd known the wrap and fries were going to be that large, my husband and I would've split one wrap and one order of fries, which would have been plenty of food! Overall, I would highly recommend this place as the food was so good, but will order less food next time! read more

My family & I just went and tried a bunch of stuff on their menu. The owner is extremely friendly and took extra care of us and every customer that was coming in. They have a great menu selection and everything we ordered was made fresh. We absolutely loved everything from their beef shawarma (extremely flavorful), gyros (tasty and NOT super oily like other places), chicken cream chop (literally made fresh and crispy I finished it all by myself), and the ribeye tikka (tender and delicious). The salads were tasty as well. The owner had us taste test and try their falafel and they were perfection. They have a baklava cheesecake that was unreal!!! We took 2 more to go. We just finished eating at Crave for the first time and were amazed by how delicious literally everything that we ate was. We had the beef kabob plate, the chicken tikka plate, falafel, and the beef kabob kids meal. The beef and chicken were the most flavorful and delicious around and we should know because we've eaten at just about every Mediterranean place in the area. Even the rice, salad, and hummus were exceptional.
