I stopped in for lunch at this Middle Eastern & American eatery. I choose to go Middle Eastern and ordered the Chicken Tikka Sajj wrap which came with a side of pickled vegetables and fries. The grilled chicken inside the wrap was quite good, but I was dumbfounded that they used a simple flour tortilla and not a traditional sajj wrap. In addition, the "flour tortilla" was not properly warmed up. The pickled vegetables were good and the french Fries were alright. These temp had a temperature that was inconsistent. Some were warm and some were lukewarm. Non of them were pipping hot as they should of been which was a shame because they were seasoned nicely and tasted good. Also, in addition to the French Fries, they need to offer more side choices for the wraps: a small salad, a small portion of Middle Eastern Rice, or even a small portion of sauteed vegetables or hummus. Came here with a group of 7 friends to celebrate. The host greeted us and sat us in the back patio, which was virtually empty besides 2-3 other groups. We ordered hookahs, multiple drinks, and hung out for about an hour. Finally, the bill comes, and there is $70 charge for "cover fee"? We proceeded to ask what this is for, since we were never told we had to pay a cover fee when we came in? The man begins to throw a fit and tells us we NEED to pay it, and he will not take it off. We ended up paying, so we could leave this dust bucket, but that is pretty criminal to sneak unauthorized charges on peoples tab. The most ridiculous part is, the same man that sat us, was the same man that refused to take the "cover charge" off our bill. Ok, I honestly don't know where to start. We were a party of ten people who came in on a Saturday night. We got there pretty early so there weren't a lot of tables yet. We were excited to enjoy a night of fun, music, and food! Little did we know it was going to be a disaster. We ordered our food which took over an hour to come out. As the servers were dropping off food they just put the plate down on the table and walked away. They never clarified what they were dropping and didn't even bother to ask who ordered it. So we were left to figure out who got what in a really loud environment. The first no no was when they dropped the hummus off with no bread and no serving spoon. We sat there with hummus for 20 minutes before we could flag someone down and ask for bread. Honestly, that appetizer should come with bread without us asking for it. We ordered fries. The fries came out an hour later cold and stale. We told the manager and he sent out a new order of fries. However, when the bill came he insisted on charging us for both fries. Why are we getting charged for the cold and stale fries and the new ones? How is that an us problem? He then told us if we don't pay for it, it would come out of the waitress' tip money. (ALSO ILLEGAL OF THEM TO DO SO) Someone at the table was fasting off of meat and broke the fast accidentally because the server dropped the wrong food off in front of her. As mentioned before, they were bringing plates, dropping them anywhere on the table, and walking away. They didn't even verbalize what they were putting down. In what restaurant is that normal or ok? NONE. The manager was anything but accommodating, not wanting to accept any fault on the restaurants behalf and also not wanting to compromise or try to make his customers happy. I have never encountered a restaurant "manager" as rude and unreasonable as him. On top of getting robbed by paying for their mistakes, we were also all charged a 10 dollar cover charge each for the night. So basically we paid for terrible service, mediocre food, and paid to get ripped off. We will never be coming back. Some reviews say to ignore the all negative reviews, but when there's smoke there's fire. There are plenty of middle eastern restaurants in the neighborhood that serve much better food and actually care about their customers for them to be acting this way. They didn't have glasses of water but rather a water bottle after they didn't have the ability to make an arnold palmer. When I asked to cancel my hummus order since everyone's food got there before mine and they were done eating, I was told no. Which is annoying because how the hell did a beef wrap and lamb chops get made and prepared before my hummus? I let it go and magically 5 minutes later my hummus arrived. HOWEVER. The price on the menu does not match the price they charge you and they do not tell you that!! The margarita I ordered was $8 on the menu but they charged me $15! I'm pretty patient and don't care about discrepancy of a couple bucks but come on!! A whole $7 more for one item and the same went for multiple items on our bill! When we pointed this out to our waitress she basically said "yeah the price isn't the same we're getting new menus made...sorry." And again I'm very patient but they need to let people know ahead of time! As a former waitress this was a huge red flag on this place! It gets better, we asked to speak to the manager and the waitress came back and said "he doesn't want to talk to you guys but he changed the prices on your bill." Under each table from where I sat there were dust bunnies and food left behind, only reason I noticed was because my toddler was wanting to walk around but he still likes to put things in his mouth. The men at the front told us we cant go there cause its only for "men". They made us sit in the back corner where the bathroom is. But two different groups of girls walked in and were taken in the "men" area. We asked to be moved there and the waiter was like its for boys only. Seriously? We were met at the front door by Ricardo and Janice who are the New Owners of the Baja Flame Bar & Grill. The restaurant is super clean and organized, and has a full beautiful Bar and a Patio Area where customers can enjoy Hookah Pipes also. Hoa our server was very nice, as she answered all of our questions about the new menu, took our orders, and came back to our table many times making sure we were very happy. While we waited for our orders, we enjoyed some yummy Mexican Tortilla Chips with 2 tasty salsas. Tuesday was ".99 Cent Taco Tuesday ", and we ordered Shrimp, Fish, Carne Asada, Adobada, Pollo Asado & Rib Eye Tacos. All of the Tacos were delicious and very tasty. The Tacos were very well made made by Gabby and Caleb the Butcher and Chef. During Taco Tuesday the Baja Flame Bar & Grill also has multiple flavors of bottle beers at $2.00 each. The new Baja Flame Menu gives you a large variety of both Mexican and Mediterranean food options. They also have live entertainment on Friday & Saturdays. Then the waitress brought the rest missing one, came to confirm the last order and then brought totally different order. Talked to the manager and he offered 20% discount ($20), then the bill came and he simply added another $28 as mandatory service charge! Total waiting time an hour and a half, what pissed me off that the owner was sitting few tables away hearing everything and didn't bother to check what's going on.. simply left it to the manager who made it worse! We're the only customers. The host had to ask a female to stop sweeping the floor and seat us. She had the charisma of a brick. When I asked about beer and wine, I was told to walk to the bar and ask the bartender. I made it easy on him and he brought my beer and the wine for my wife. The Chardonnay was served in a tiny goblet that I thought would be appropriate for a port. Maybe a 3 oz pour. Ordering was mechanical.
