Vegetables were tender crisp and eggs were scrambled in as they should be. Chicken was mostly tender. Chef cashier did not ask me what spice level I desired, so it was unspiced. I would preferred a mild to medium, but they were closed by then so I couldn't ask for more seasonings. I ate some on the picnic tables outside and then took the rest back to my husband at the hotel. This tiny little spot was HOPPING. They only have three 4-tops and 6 bar seats, so expect to wait for a seat. Or, better yet, use their drive through window for a grab and go meal. The inside is designed like your traditional Mexican restaurant with rustic paintings on the walls, lots of bright colors, parrots, etc. You know the place, its your favorite neighborhood Mexican eatery. The food was pretty darn good. I had the Camarones Rojo and my wife tried the birria torta. Both dishes were fantastic, the shrimp was spicy and super flavorful and their beans & rice are AMAZING. Best I've had outside of Mexico really. My wife loved her torta. The carne was juicy, the bread crispy on the outside and chewy inside, fantastic. You have to order the consume separately but its a must. It ranks in my wife's top 3 favorites. There were only a couple not quite perfect things. Nothing to major, but worth mentioning. The birria torta came with raw jalapeños. While fresh and usually enjoyable, this just provided an additional raw heat that didn't go we'll with the rest so she removed them. If you dine in they provide chips & salsa. Unfortunately the salsa was quite bland. The chips needed salt too. They worked as an appetizer but could have been better. They have a few more dishes we're excited to try and look forward to eating here again!
