I'm stingy with my 5 stars but Crave really deserves it. I made reservations at 7pm and we were seated shortly there after. The booth was very comfortable for two. The vibe was fun and energetic. It was upscale without being pretentious. Our server Alyssa was so very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu which I really appreciated. She recommended the sourdough focaccia and ahi poke for appetizers and they did not disappoint! For our entrees we ordered the filet. We ordered it medium but it came out medium rare but I didn't mind. Butter soft. The Thai cod was very flavorful; the heat was perfect, not overbearing. The cocktails were some of the best we have tasted. We ordered the bourbon drink and the psyche. Wow! No wonder the bartender won a prestigious award. The cost for two starters, 4 cocktails and 2 entrees was rather hefty but worth the money IMHO... our celebration was perfect... so thanks, Crave!

Unpretentious fine dining with crazy good food and drinks. What's not to love? I'm not a local, just passing through, but this spot is so good I'm 100% coming back tomorrow. The best way to describe Crave is intentional. They are intentional in their choices, from ingredients to presentation. Got their Duck Breast with the truffle risotto. Just a perfect mixture of sweet, savory and a great balance of textures. Cocktail was solid as well. Ava deserves her accolades for sure. Fast service. Not stuffy ambience at all. Definitely a Rockford Gem

This place is a hidden GEM! A must try when you're in the Rockford area! From the first impression of being greeted to the beautiful ambience of the restaurant to the food. The drinks and the customer service were absolutely top-notch, five out of five I will be back and cannot wait to try the different varieties of drinks and cuisine! Alyssa was amazing and Ava the owner was so friendly and gracious! The homemade focaccia bread was the best I've ever had ... (I've had alot) The lobster rolls were so flavorful and the risotto was so flavorful !

What a great restaurant! The service was wonderful and the drinks were so delicious and the food was exquisite. We had a wonderful time. It was a very unpretentious restaurant. Great ambiance!

Felt like I needed to share my experience with this place, very disappointed. A few weeks ago, I visited this restaurant for a friend's birthday. The service started off poorly, as our server seemed unfamiliar with the menu and was unable to answer several questions. Two people in our group ordered the Poké Bowl, only to be told afterward that it was unavailable. While I understand items can sell out, that information should have been communicated when we were seated. I ended up ordering the half chicken. The flavor was fine, but after taking the leftovers home and seeing them under better lighting, I noticed parts of the chicken were pink and appeared undercooked. I immediately took photos and called the restaurant. I was told the photos would be enough and that the owner would contact me the next day. After no one reached out, I called to follow up. The owner was dismissive from the start and asked me to email the photos, which I did. Shortly afterward, she informed me that she would not be issuing a refund because she didn't see anything wrong with the chicken. When I called back to discuss it, she repeatedly refused to refund the meal and questioned why I hadn't complained while I was still at the restaurant. I explained that the restaurant's dim lighting made it difficult to notice until I got home. Rather than addressing my concerns, she became argumentative and unprofessional. The most upsetting part was when she told me she believed I was trying to scam the restaurant because my card had declined during payment. In reality, I had accidentally handed over the wrong card from one of my bank accounts and immediately paid with the correct one. Being accused of scamming over a $36 meal was insulting and completely inappropriate. What should have been a simple customer service issue turned into a disappointing and hostile experience. I understand mistakes happen, but how a business handles those mistakes matters. Unfortunately, the lack of accountability, poor communication, and unprofessional treatment ensured that I will not be returning. I enjoy supporting local businesses, but based on my experience, I do not recommend this restaurant. Posting my review on here also because google would not allow me to post the picture.

One of the nicer places I've been to in Rockford. A very cool and modern vibe that's really great for date nights or dinner with friends. Service was amazing, the staff was very personable. The food was tasty - we had a group of 6 and we ordered a variety of apps: peach bruschetta, fried zucchini, and truffle fries. For entrees, we had the branzino, grilled shrimp, Thai coconut cod, poke bowl, and lobster pasta - all were delicious. Definitely recommend!

Dining room into the well-stocked, attractive bar.

Frankly, I didn't know what to expect. The emphasis on "women owned" doesn't impress me as I'm interested in a great dining experience and good food which is independent of the gender of the owners, preparers or servers. But, I *was* pleasantly impressed with delicious food (Waygu burger and tuna poke bowl) and a great tap beer. Plus, the waiter was careful, courteous and concerned that we enjoyed the food and the experience. The atmosphere is relaxing and upscale without feeling pretentious or forced. So, kudos to all involved in bringing a great dining experience to Rockford.

    Thank you Angela and Ava!

The Staff at Crave provided Tom and I an amazing celebration, complete with champagne, our favorite song and Chocolate cake. Dinner was fabulous. Thank you Crave! 5 Star all the way.

I have to say, current favorite spot in Rockford! Stopped in for a few drinks at the bar and an appetizer, and the bartenders were absolutely amazing. Had a few drinks and the truffle fries and the ladies had us try out their new holiday menu - so these drinks may not be available yet MUST TRY "NOT SO SILENT NIGHT" love it here!

Crave caught our attention while traveling through Rockford. Glad we decided to stop by. Great atmosphere inside with some outdoor seating too. Highly recommend the truffle fries and risotto. They were delicious! Our server recommended them and I absolutely agree they were worth it.

The wagyu burger was delicious, but tried too hard with too much stuff making it a hot mess to eat. Sometimes less is more.

It was a beautiful restaurant and wonderful service, but that's about it. Note, we gave them two tries in case the first one was a fluke. Nope. The food was lacking in seasoning even when the descriptions made it sound amazing. Example: mushroom risotto was mostly scallions and maybe 4 slices of mushrooms. The lobster gnocchi had maybe 3 or 4 pieces of lobster. Death by chocolate cake was dry which is why it came with ice cream. The highlights were the cocktails, the focaccia, and the service. I hate to give a bad review, but there are much better restaurants in town.

Truffle fries, Angela's house made sourdough focaccia.

Such an amazing experience…read more Starting off with the restaurant itself, such a beautifully curated spot that is unlike anything rockford has to offer. Every detail a work of art. We really enjoy the bar area and its ambiance but hope to also experience the dining room as well. We started off with the Dip of the day which was a Miso Ranch dip served with fresh made tortilla chips. This was phenomenal and my only complaint is there wasn't more! We also both ordered a drink off of their happy hour menu. I ordered the old Fashioned and my wife ordered their margarita. Both were excellent. I also ordered the VIEUX CARRÉ based on our Server's recommendation and thoroughly enjoyed that. Such knowledgeable staff makes a big difference. For our main course, I got their Mushroom Pot Pie and my wife ordered the Ora King Salmon. Both dishes blew us away. Neither of us expected to be so full after our meals, their serving sizes were very generous! I wanted to highlight the mushroom pot pie, as a vegetarian, Fine dining usually does not cater to vegetarians. So having options at a place this nice was such a welcomed surprise. The greens included with the Pot Pie really stole the show, The most perfectly cooked and seasoned greens I have ever had. Chef Nick Risseeuw came over and checked on how we were doing and after hearing me rave about his pot pie offered two of his desserts on the house. We got a pistachio orange dessert and a Malt ball ice cream that was his interpretation of whopper candy as an ice cream. Both were DIVINE! Thank you again Nick for your generosity, it was a perfect way to end a perfect meal. I also wanted to highlight the staff as they played an essential role in our unbelievable experience. Everyone was so friendly, attentive, and prompt. We will definitely return soon and cannot wait to see what is in store for their upcoming menu

In an old storefront building but they have also added a charming courtyard on the back. They make a LOT of wines! And the food menu is quite robust as well, not just snacks or a cheese plate, as at some places. We split the ham sliders and the chicken raspberry flatbread sandwich, both of which were very tasty and came with crisp kettle chips. To drink, my mom and I had the wine swirl slushy, and my brother had a bourbon old fashioned, all of which we enjoyed. As a lightweight, I liked that the slushy was tasty without being too boozy for me. Our server, Charlie, was very friendly. Staff may want to remember that they can be heard in the dining room from behind the wall that I suppose is blocking off the kitchen; we heard a lot of hollering and swearing at one point. Regarding accessibility, this is an old building and is rather precarious. I use a cane and noted that there is no railing for the steps outside, or the ones inside to get out to the courtyard (my mom mentioned that my dad, who loses his balance due to a medical condition, had also mentioned this on a previous visit). The bathroom I visited was also tiny, literally a water closet. There is also a rather steep slope in the floor from the lobby room to the dining room. If you use a wheelchair, I don't know that this building would be accessible at all from the exterior. Overall, it's worth the drive out to Genoa if you already aren't in this area to check out Prairie State Winery. Cheers!
