Stopped here Sunday morning right before looking at the snow and ice sculptures around Lake Geneva. It feels more like a house vibe which is pretty cool. There are various rooms with an assortment of furniture, art, and board games. The special was $6k mimosas and the tart cherry one was really good. The best mimosa I've had for sure. Stopped in for a wine flight with a girlfriend while we had time to kill before checking into our hotel. The venue is deceptively large--with only a small bar but large outdoor patio, and expansive indoor space, ideal for groups! We each did a red wine flight, priced extremely reasonably! And asked the bartender for her recommendation on snacks--she suggested a loaf of fresh baked bread (on site) and a balsamic cheese. Both were served to us on a cutting board, complete with bread & cheese knife, as well as small plates and napkins. It was the perfect afternoon pairing. They have a large retail shop--but unfortunately were out of my favorite brand, Cakebread. But I was happy to hear that they normally do carry their wines. read more

And for claiming to be a Wine Bar, they have an expansive selection of drinks - NA to full A. Whiskey flights to wine flights. Great sound track to accompany your visit. The staff is pleasant but they don't monitor clients' intake as multiple bottles flow (patrons walk to the enclosed patio with their opened wine and drink away), while no server is actually there to monitor intake (as is mandatory practice under state and city laws), for licensed bartenders. Being over-served is a risky issue for the business owners on their liability insurance. read more

My husband and I came here after we left a not so good winery down the street. This place had complimentary wine tasting with Renae, she's wonderful and very knowledgeable. She told me and this other local lady, Kelly that white zinfandel was an accidental wine, I was drinking a lot, so I forgot why it was an accident lol. Super swanky wine shop, featuring wine tastings on Saturdays and Sundays. If you're missing Chicago parking, you definitely want to make plans to visit The Bottle Shop. I was on a mission to see if I could track down a bunch of Rosé wines from a list provided in the June 22 issue of Chicago Tribune. Along with avoiding the cost for gas, I was hoping to lower the tax on some bottles of wine. Super hipster with all the Bohemian vibes, the little shop next to the dining area was packed with wine connoisseurs, tasting away. The shop is so hipster, that the girl hosting the wine tasting, boasted about not having a Facebook account. She probably had that belief before it was cool too. In the background, soft Jazz filled the room. Unfortunately I was only able to check 1 wine off my list: a Viña Zoral Navarra Garnacha Rosado. That means nine more bottles to go! This is definitely a cute place that I would only visit if I lived in an apartment upstairs. Otherwise the parking is a nightmare. read more

Okay, I want to love wine, but really, I'm a 'sweet' amateur. This place has it all. Beth, the owner, is Awesome. She is worth the stop alone. She recommended a Sauvignon Blanc to my husband, and it was great. We went to the magic show next door; they have a coupon for $12 for two glasses to bring back over to the show. That was a fun surprise. After the show we went back over because of her hospitality. We asked for two glasses of Riesling, Beth talked us into a bottle, it was great as well. The shop is super cute and super chill. Beth runs tastings on Saturday and Sunday, we just did the bottle. We spent time in the front room and the tasting room. We had our son, don't judge, Beth had two awesome, well-trained dogs and our son loved them. We sent him in the alley with the dogs and a ball, at Beth's suggestion, and our son had a blast, and we had some adult time. Our son couldn't have had more fun. We left with some New Glaraus brew to bring home; they sell beer too. I would go back as much for the wines as the company. The whole experience was fun. Please go and support a fun local business, we will be back on our next trip to Lake Geneva. Every year we have gone back to the Bottle Shop, it never disappoints. 11/29/19-Beth continues to impress me...Expanding, both the ship and the menu, cool events and more. We stopped at The Bottle Shop on July 4th weekend to listen to live music. The outdoor patio was very cute and the singer Josh was great. It actually was a great spot to relax and chill away from the main strip in Lake Geneva. The guitarist was joined by a trumpet player and then a singer, very spontaneous and cute. The staff is very friendly and suggested a nice dry red from Tuscany which was great. They have noshy snack food there like cheeses and baguettes and spreads. We got the salmon spread which was really good and the olive spread from Greece and Italian dry salami. The dips are served in the original containers which is a bit tacky -- everything is prepackaged and no plates. It would be nice to have a better presentation however, you can take everything home with you and they give you and ice pack which is a nice touch. I would definitely go back to relax on the patio. Amazing experience here. I visited with a friend during happy hour on a Friday. The place was empty with 2 ladies working. My friend and I each ordered a flight of wine, one red and one white, and a small bag of gardettos. Since no one else was there, we had our pick of seats. We chose a nook in the back corner full of random seats, including worn in leather couches and chairs located next to a little fireplace. We cozied up with our wine and chose from a bookshelf full of games. Our experience was phenomenal. Staff were kind and attentive, wine was cheap and tasty, and music and ambience can't be beat. My wife and I have been patrons of The Bottle Shop since it opened and have had the privilege to watch it grow into the class A wine bar (and other libations) it is today. Beth has built a place that is as much about people as it is about wine. She has an amazing service orientated staff focused on creating a relaxing environment for their customers. Besides wine, a selection of beers, bourbons and mixed drinks are served along with a selection of cheeses, spreads, bread and other prepackaged apps. The wines are available for retail sale as well as a some beer and liquor. The Bottle Shop is located on the edge of downtown Lake Geneva if you are coming into town on Highway 50 from Route 12. Its location makes for a nice place to get away from the Lake Geneva crowds with seating available inside or outside on a spacious patio setting. Beth has recently added a comedy club show in an adjacent space next to the wine shop which my wife and I also attended. With 2020 being 2020, The Bottle Shop is a great place to just relax and have a few laughs! read more
