Five Happiness - This was the saddest and grossiest food ever. You can tell the food wasn't fresh and that they use frozen ingredients.

Had the "dinner portion" General Tso. Good portions, came with sweet & sour soup, wonton chips, an…read moreegg roll, a crab rangoon, and pork fried rice. Price was $17.38 with tax. S&S soup is delicious. Mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and tofu pieces. Wonton chips are fresh and not stale. Crab Rangoon's filling had almost no distinct flavor but the texture was good, as well as the perfectly crispy wrapper. Egg roll was ok, again fried to perfection but the filling flavor was non-descript. Pork Fried Rice came automatically with the dish. It's good. I think it's a specialty of theirs which is why it was standard (as in, customers automatically opt for it) and not plain white rice. I'm not sure if it was an upgrade charge or not. It was just automatically entered. General Tso chicken tastes like funnel cake. Powdered sugar flavor, fried bread, slight honey or vanilla. Hint of pepper. It's very tasty but not what I think of when I think General Tso. Overall this is better than some Chinese restaurants in the area. I honestly cannot say one is head and shoulders above another. We usually do Yun Long because we know what they're good at and what they're not, and Yun Long is consistent. We really like Ichiban the best but that is all the way in Picayune. Give them a shot. Do a small meal to make sure you like them. My wife and I shared this one rather than getting two full meals from a restaurant we've never tried. It filled us both up!

I pass by this restaurant frequently when I go to the local grocery store across the street. I've…read morealways been intrigued and wondered about the food and ambience here and decided to try it on a Saturday night. You walk up a nice ramp through a covered porch into a very quaint establishment. We were greeted promptly. Our server was very pleasant and took her time when answering our questions. The portions were somewhat small. We had ordered a child's shrimp with a side salad (up charge of 5.95) in place of fries that came with the child's meal. Also ordered the catfish platter, which was just catfish and fries, no salad included. With a dessert of cheesecake beignets (excellent by the way) we paid $60 including the tip. Went home and three hours later ended up ordering a large two topping pizza because we were still hungry! All in all a very nice quaint country restaurant, family owned, with prices that seemed a little on the exorbitant side!!!!! You cannot beat the affable personnel and atmosphere, but you sure pay for it

We finally made it to Front Porch Cafe. What a lovely dining experience!…read more Front Porch is a cozy bayou-esque gem. It feels like you're pulling up to family's for dinner, which is exactly what you're doing since this is a family-owned and run establishment. We dined on a Wednesday night and were fortunate to snatch a comfy booth right by the entrance. The ambience is like a cozy covered porch with homey accents. They do have an actual front porch with outdoor seating as well for those who want to sit outside. They have a LOT of menu items. Beyond their regular menu they had plenty of interesting specials. Because I absolutely love redfish but also love shrimp and grits, I asked them to make me blackened redfish with shrimp and grits and it was no problem at all. The meal starts with a small basic salad. Then the entrees roll out and you're really in for a treat. The portions are MASSIVE and delicious. I loved my meal. The grits delicious and the two seafood portions could have been meals all on their own. My date had the steak and I tasted it and it was also very good. The prices are very fair and the service is excellent. This will be a regular in the rotation going forward for sure!!
