The staff and the food were both excellent! Unaware of how late it had gotten, we walked in one night about 6:45, and they close at 7. They were extremely polite and accommodating. They said they would be glad to make our order and even offered to let us sit inside and eat, even though they were about to close and we're already cleaning up. I'm really disappointed with my experience at Danny's Seafood. My family and I politely asked if we could try a small sample before ordering, and the staff was extremely rude about it. Instead of just saying no nicely, they acted annoyed and made us feel uncomfortable for even asking. Customer service matters just as much as the food, and unfortunately the attitude we received completely turned us away. We won't be coming back. read more

If you need shrimp, particularly on a Sunday, Danny is your man. I love visiting the harbor and buying shrimp fresh from the boats. But guess what? They are open bankers hours. So what is a boy to do when he wants to cook some shrimp and its later in the day, or on Sunday? He asks around and someone tells him about Danny's Seafood. Danny's is open far longer than the harbor and they have shrimp that is just as fresh. You may pay slightly less at the harbor, but when you want shrimp at 6:00 p.m., the harbor is closed. Danny is not. I ended up picking up a few pounds of peeled shrimp here on a Sunday. They were very fresh and reasonably priced. I thoroughly appreciated that they had peeled shrimp since I was not in the mood to be getting stabbed in the fingers. I turned those shrimp into tacos which is one meal my kids will actually eat. OMG, I can't understand, Who is writing those good reviews on this restaurant, has to be from the inside. The food is terrible and tremendously over priced, not to mention the service, the Waitstaff is slow, rude sloppy and very unsafe. They talk directly towards and over the food of customers. One girl actually put another customers food on my table and went back to the kitchen area to retrieve a side dish. I could have touched or spread something on that food and she would have served that food to an unaware customer. I saw the cook eating while cooking and prepping the plates. I live around the corner so this is my go to spot when I either dont feel like cooking or if I want boiled crawfish when it's in season. The fried rice is the best I've ever had and the egg rolls are really good too. I typically buy live crawfish anytime I want to boil a sack or 2 and he always puts aside the sack sizes I want because I contact him a few days ahead of time with my order. Any time I only want to eat a few pounds, I sit inside and eat the crawfish he boils. The spice and flavor of his crawfish is better than mine (but I won't tell him that). I can eat a pile of crawfish and drink a beer or 2 and there's no mess or fuss at my house. This is a great local small business and it's a jewel tucked away in Long Beach. read more

I think this is a kind score and review. The catfish was so very fishy tasting my wife and I couldn't eat it. The crabs we so salty they too were inedible. The prices are excellent only if you can eat the food. We'll think about it for a while and decide if we want to try it again. The employees were friendly and this place stays open until 7p which is much later than most of the seafood markets. The prices are very reasonable. I got the boiled crawfish at $3.29 pound. The food had a good spice to it but the crawfish were not hot and tasted like they were cooked many many hours before I purchased them 3 of them out of 2.5 lbs tasted horrible. read more
