The positives, the Cole slaw and cooked cabbage were delicious. They know how to do things with cabbage. The negatives, everything else aside from the mashed potatoes was cold like it had come out the refrigerator even under the heat lamps and everything was flavorless. Not a single employee gave a care and the food's temperature had to have been a health violation with not being held at least warm. We arrived at around 6:15 and the place closes at 8. The staff is 5 star wonderful, so friendly and really on top of cleaning your tables and stocking the buffet options so everything is fresh, even close to closing! You eat on disposable plates with disposable cups and silverware, but that's no big deal. For under $14 all you can eat, what a deal! The fried chicken was really great. The sides were also amazing. Wish they had more restaurants like they did before. Do not get discouraged, they offer to go orders. It seems you drive by a lot and it is always packed. If you time it right. It's actually a good place to eat. They have the normal stuff. Too many to list. The food is fresh and offer not only spicy and mild chicken. Fried fish and liver. If biscuits are not your fancy. They offer rolls and cornbread also. A few things to note. They have so much more to over in food options. They offer a drink fountain and offer free refills. No alcohol. Small dessert bar too with soft deft vanilla ice cream machine. Something I noticed when I was there; they offer a friendly staff to come by your table to make sure you're having a wonderful stay. The buffet is worth it just for the sides, in my opinion -- excellent red beans and rice, cabbage, coleslaw, okra, and mashed potatoes. if there was negative stars this joint would get it. sitting at a table with my party at the register fixing to pay when the manager asked me to move because they had a party of nine that was coming in that didn't pay yet. keep in mind that one of the girls in their group was friends with one of the girls behind the counter stating that if our party sat at one of the tables then they wouldnt have a place to sit. We were asked to leave when I asked to talk to an owner the manager said he was handling this matter and if we didn't like the outcome he would call the local pd to have us helped. now in no means did we ever get rude we were there first but I'm guessing that the majority of this establishment didn't care to much for our kind just wanting to get dinner the manager especially. Unfortunately we found the chicken to be very dry and crispy. The pieces were not extremely meaty although they were large. The fried okra was good as were the brownies for desert. We waited about 5 minutes for a table which I thought was fantastic!! And the food was worth the wait.
