Me and my husband were celebrating our second wedding anniversary and wanted to get away for a romantic getaway and Davis on Morton was PERFECT! It had everything beat from the bed and breakfast we stayed in in San Antonio. The only downfall that some people might have is that it's just a bedroom and bathroom. The one in San Antonio was like an apartment. It had a full kitchen, dining room and living room. But we didn't use any of it once. Most people don't while on vacation. We stayed in the North room. It had a queen size bed and the bathroom was PERFECT for a romantic getaway or even just a getaway with your significant other. When we first walked in we were greeted with smiles. Glen was outside and opened the door for us and Doris was inside greeting us with a friendly smile. We brought in some fast food and they let us-actually so sweetly insisted that eat at the main dining room table downstairs to be more comfortable. We were soaked from being at Lake Texoma so I said no, it was fine because I didn't want to get those gorgeous chairs wet. So sweet Doris appreciated the thought so she said she can cover them for us so we don't get them wet. So we ate down there and talked to them. They are both soooo sweet and they make you feel right at home. They told us if we bring in a bottle of wine or something we are allowed to use the wine glasses and cork opener that they have downstairs at their bar. They just aren't allowed to let us drink the alcohol at that bar because I think there are laws regarding that. Like having a licensed bartender there if alcohol is being served to the guests. But we were welcome to use anything down stairs. I felt right at home! Before we ate our lunch we brought in, Doris showed us around upstairs and all the rooms. They are all quite amazing. The east room was the one we almost went with but the picture didn't look like the jacuzzi tub would fit 2 people. But it defiantly will! And you get the bigger king size bed in that one. Deloris was so sweet that she would have let us switch to that room but it had already been booked. (By people that didn't even show up or call to cancel) and they don't charge a cancelation fee which just shows their character and how sweet they were but if you're not going to show up, you should call and let them know because someone else could have looked at that room wanting a jacuzzi tub and couldn't book it bc both rooms with jacuzzi tubs were booked and if they had called and canceled, someone else could have booked it. It's not right to screw them over like that. They are such sweet people. Up stairs there is a hallway that has a mini fridge that has sodas and water next to it are chocolates that anyone can help themselves to. The landscaping outside is beautiful. The wrap around porch downstairs is awesome too. It has tables you can eat at, places to relax and plenty of areas to sit and enjoy the weather and having a glass of wine or a beer. One thing I really loved about Davis on Morton was all the incredible antiques. You will see some in the photos. I took a lot of photos of our room (the north room) because I did feel like I couldn't really tell from their website how great at actually was! And I took picture of downstairs. I meant to take pictures of the outside but I forgot. But they do have plenty of those pictures on the website. All in all I loved 99.9999% of everything about this place (comfortable beds, BEYONG EXCELLENT customer service, room size, even quality toilet paper not cheap thin toilet paper that you get at most places, and the breakfast in the morning....O-M-G best I've ever had at a hotel or B&B!!!) And that's all on Doris! She's the cook! And Glen serves us and makes sure we have everything we need or if we need anything else. I would rate it 100% but porcelain dolls freak me out and they have one downstairs that freaked me out haha. That would never make me give them less than 5 stars. I would give them 10 stars if I could. It's a great place to stay if you want to go to Choctaw and go to the lake. Or if you just want a romantic getaway. Thank you so much Doris and Glen! The recommended places to eat that were good yet inexpensive with most being within walking distance. We really enjoyed our visit. The bed comfortable, pillows fluffy & the bathroom (tub & separate shower) & room was clean & quiet. There was even coffee & tea to be made with the coffee pot. We sat out on the front deck & talked, watched the cars & sunset. The owners even gave us some eggs on our way out. I highly recommend staying at the Four Winds Victorian when in Bonham, TX.

My wife and I stayed here recently for our anniversary and to catch the solar eclipse that went…read morethrough Dallas. I booked the room -- the Anthony Suite on the top floor -- a year in advance. This place has a decent refund policy with enough advance notice, so if you are considering the Nethery Estate, book early. There are not a lot of rooms here and it appears from the pictures inside of it that groups/families tend to rent all of them for events, so it can fill up quickly. The estate is a nifty place. It is an older style home, but well kept. You park in the back and are texted a code for the gate to get in. The key to your room is left outside on the back porch and you go to your room as you would like. Definitely a colonial style home with a suit of armor next to the stairs (that's true). If you look closely around, you will see several references to Harry Potter, which my wife enjoyed finding and we looked around. Our room was awesome, with a nice couch and TV in front of it, a small table to sit at to eat, a comfy bed, and a separate bathroom with a cool tiled shower. Downstairs has a small sitting area, a bar, and another room has the long dining room table. My wife and I were comfortable walking into the place and going in and out of our room to activities as we saw fit. We did encounter some of the other guests, but only briefly. There is a small ice machine, which we used while we were there. And there is a mini-fridge next to it that guests had put in some leftovers as there aren't fridges in the rooms (which is all fine because Tiffany handles some of the cooking for you!). My wife and I went outside to hang out for a while because we had been at the zoo during the day and it was 86 degrees -- which is hot for us Oregonians for the beginning of April. We brought swim wear as the first amenity listed on Netherly's site is the salt pool. Sadly, it was not heated and still appeared to have some small branches from the property in it. It hadn't been warm enough for long enough for it to be available. The hot tub adjacent to it didn't have water, but honestly, I didn't remember anything mentioned on the website about a hot tub, so it was not anything I was expecting anyway. We can and enjoyed the back yard for a little bit, but opted to go inside and take a shower to cool off and then head out for activities. The first morning I had paid extra to have food delivered to our room. It is a good thing I put on some pants when I opened the door because Tiffany walked in to set down the food on the table for us. I've been to a couple other B&Bs and it is usually left outside, but I figured I'd not answer in the nude and that was a good idea. We were told she enters to set things up to ensure we don't eat in the bed as it is a nightmare to clean up (and I believe it). We had chopped potatoes, some waffles, and a little bit of fruit. More than enough for my wife and I. The next day we ate at the large table downstairs. We ate with a couple from France that had come to view the eclipse. Tiffany was very pleasant and talkative during that time. I cannot specifically remember all of the food, but it included more chopped potatoes, some toast, and I cannot remember what else. It was good food, though, and more than enough for me to eat. Tiffany also gave us a dessert cornmeal kind of muffin that was pretty good as well. For my personal experience, I look to the front page of Nethery's page that touts "Southern Hospitality Hotel Accommodations with a Pool" that the next page says is open in spring. summer, and fall. I don't think the site even mentions a hot tub, so no worries on that. It may not have been warm enough for the pool to really work out so early in April, but we were looking forward to having a more private pool than one found at a large hotel. The home is beautiful and sitting outside to bask in the sun is nice. Getting in and out was easy and the room we had was awesome. If you pay to have breakfast in your room, make sure you are dressed. You get generous portions and the food is pretty good! But look -- the pool thing aside, which I wouldn't want anyone reading this to make too big of a deal about as it didn't ruin any plans and wasn't the primary reason for my choosing Nethery Estate, we had a great time. My wife was very pleased that Nethery Estate was where we spent our 2nd anniversary together. It is certainly it's own experience and Tiffany is a great host, so if you are considering staying here -- book it.

this place writes about how quaint and beautiful it is. it even post info about all they have to…read moreoffer like when it was a bed and breakfast. it is now only a very rundown farm . the place is not kept up. some of the grass was cut, but tall weeds were everywhere. The little pond seen in their ad, actually has a layer of scum on it. I saw a fish laying on top of the scum flopping and soon after died. probably because it couldn't get enough oxygen. the alpacas there were in a very run down pen area. there is a long 6 ft ta wooden wall in the pen area that leaning badly . it is ready to fall and is propped up with steel t post used for farm fences. They have a livestock guardian dog in the pen with the alpa's pen that does not look healthy. the entrance to the place has a dilapidated sign that is ready to fall dow. they give you a code for the entry gate. Probably because they don't want to ever meet any of their guest. They also give a code to the cabin. again so they don't have to meet you , they just want your money. The cabin was not bad, but the AC didn't work well. There were bugs in the grassy area and I was bitten many times. Run, don't walk. away as fast as you can . Their nice looking ad makes it look like a wonder place to stay. Believe me. It is not.
