Sadly the owners retired as of 06/21/25. I came here on the last day of operation since I had never dined here before. I had to check it out! You seat yourself and they come take your order. This is a very casual dining space with that Nola flair. The gentleman server immediately took my drink order and shortly afterwards I ordered. The seafood gumbo was good & definitely has a kick to it!! I loved the spice level it carried. Of course I had to get some crawfish and those babies were outstanding. And let me just tell you this, I am not a sauce person but their remoulade sauce is absolutely delicious. Yes!!!!! It!!! Is!!!! It paired nicely and balanced the spice of the crawfish , corn and potatoes. 10/10. Don't play! I was totally satisfied with my meal! I can tell this establishment will definitely be missed after serving the community for over 30 years. I just hate it took me so long to try them out.

    Seafood Rotini. Spicy!

This was our first time here. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the nice weather. The service was super relaxed and talking to the waiter felt like talking to a friend. It's a pretty small place which is usually a pretty good indication that the food will be authentic to the cuisine being advertised and the place was pretty packed which is also a good sign! The tables inside weren't nearly as spread out as the ones outside so if you like your space and the weather is accommodating, definitely grab a patio seat! Lots of menu items sounded good so I asked our server for some ideas and he suggested the seafood rotini and smothered pork roast so my husband and I each got one. Both were really good! The pasta was a little spicy for me but I am generally a pretty mild girlie. The pork roast dish was right up my alley though! Would totally order it for myself next time! The alligator bites and accompanying sauce were also really good. Would love to try the crawfish and shrimp quesadilla in the future, too!

I'd been wanting to try this spot for a few weeks. After a midweek venture to 280 to help a friend, she recommended Crazy Cajun for dinner... perfect. We arrived around 6ish on a Thursday and this little spot was jumping. It's a bit of a hole in the wall but they do have some outdoor (sidewalk) seating. We grabbed one of the 2 tables available inside. It was clear that wait staff was limited... only about 3 people handling the crowd. After a minute or so, a young man greeted us and got our drink orders. He was clearly busy but took time to make us feel like we were his only table (that's the Southern charm that I love)! We skipped apps and ordered our meals. We all got the lemon pepper catfish which comes with a side and a sampler for $14. I chose gumbo Yaya (sampler) and jalapeño black eye peas( side). While we waited for our food, I noticed many orders of boiled crawfish going out... must be yummy. Our plates arrived, no lemon pepper in the fish. The gumbo was a bit bland to me but had lots of heat, a bit too much for me (my nose was running). The peas had good taste and the fish was good. I had to remind them that there was no lemon pepper. He brought some out in a sauce cup. Now, that little drizzle of lemon pepper did it for me... it took my catfish to higher heights! Oh, I also ordered a side of fried shrimp for $7. They were yummy, nothing standout though. I tasted my sister's garlic mashed potatoes and they were pretty amazing. All in all, I would return. The food is priced nicely but I didn't have anything standout (except those potatoes). Maybe I'll try a boiling pot dish or a grilled item on my future visit. If your out 280 and hankering for some Cajun, stop by for that Southern charm... it's worth it.

Food and service were superb! Nice afternoon to sit outside and enjoy a delicious lunch and catch up with friends. I ordered the Shrimp and crawfish quesadilla and it was perfect!

    Crawfish!

Food, service, Ambiance are great a true gem to birmingham. I love that it is close and it's not the same stuff.

Food is always amazing. Lulu and Robert do an incredible job. Been coming here for 20 plus years and have yet to grow tired of it.

Everything is good here but the sides are fanfreakingtastic. Creamy Cheddar Mashed Potatoes, the best Cheese Grits in town. The Cajun Meatloaf is what I'm currently stuck on. Don't sleep on the Banana Pudding with crushed-up Heath bar.

I must say this restaurant is amazing... my friend referred me and she went 8 years ago lol. The food was amazing, I'm a truck driver and they went out of there way to help me. I wasn't able to make it the night I called but I came the next morning and made sure I was one of the first customers. It did start to get busy *as it should* and the server did wonderful keeping up w/ everyone. I was also given some extra Étouffée which was a plus. I ordered a wine as well as the grits (AMAZING, even when I ate them cold in my truck) and the dessert. I was able to meet the owner before I left and he was very nice and greeted me remembering me from the day before. I would totally recommend. Great food and service, it's definitely a wonderful vibe. 10/10 experience & good prices... I'll be back soon.

I wish it was served with tortilla chips instead of bread (which is nothing special) but never the less it was VERY tasty and had a hint of spice which wasn't too overbearing. The portion was very small for $15 though. The Bourbon Street Fettuccine on the other hand was very very bland. I had to add in my own seasonings and the shrimp and chicken tasted like they had no kind of seasoning. I would not get that again. Overall I would come back, especially if other items taste like the creole dip!

Our waitress was very, very nice and personable and knowledgeable. Any questions that I had she always had an answer for and she was very patient with me as I am kind of a picky eater. The crab claws were amazing the seasoning on the crab claws Were a hit. I ordered the redfish Rockefeller and my daughter ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. Let me say the red fish Rockefeller has a distinct taste. It is very overpowering from the fish. It has a sweet onion taste and if you like that, then I would recommend this dish, but I didn't like it at all. Our waitress was very nice and told me to pick another dish. I decided to go with chicken dish. I think it's called Bayou chicken I'm not quite sure but it has a crawfish Louie sauce. I asked for the sauce on the side just in case I didn't like it and I'm glad I did. The sauce is thick, very thick like a gravy and was tasteless. I told her I would just pay for the entrée and not worry about sending it back, but the manager came over and asked me how was the dish and I told her I wasn't a fan but I would pay for it. He said no and brought me the menu again and told me to pick another entrée I was surprised because normally by this time you know, people are over it and, not really willing to please the customer but they were. I decided just to play it safe and go with fried shrimp which came with fries and coleslaw. I'm glad I chose this dish because I really enjoyed it. Also, the French 75 was really really good.

They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and since it was such a beautiful day, we decided to enjoy the patio. However, I took off a star because not a single staff member shared how things work there! After being told we could sit anywhere, we found ourselves just waiting without any guidance. At last, a server delivered food to the table next to ours, which prompted us to ask why no one had come to us. She was super apologetic and handed us menus while explaining that we need to go to the register to order and pay first, and then we'd get a number for our table. As for drinks, if you want an adult beverage, you have to order those separately at the bar. You'd think there'd be some signage indicating the process since it's a bit different from the usual! But let's talk about the food! We split the shrimp & grits and chicken & pancakes. While I usually prefer my grits creamy, I still found the shrimp mix to be tasty! The pancake was a tad thick for my liking, but the fried chicken was definitely the highlight--it was absolutely delicious! Oh, and the Hennessy Margarita? Totally on point! Overall, this place is definitely worth a visit!

There's a big shopping center parking lot with plenty of parking so that's not a concern. It's in more of an older shopping center in an area. That's not very well kept. Either way, we felt safe and wanted to try a new place for dinner. The Restaurant is very colorful and I love that about it. In the photos that I saw online, I didn't realize that the chairs were just covers that had all the beautiful colors but either way it's a lot for the eyes to take in. We arrived on a Friday evening close to 5 o'clock and we were the only ones there until we were just about to leave. I do believe that they have more orders that are picked up by DoorDash and delivery services. I was excited to try the stuffed grape leaves and my plan was to get the hummus with pita bread and add lamb to it for my entrée. Unfortunately, they were out of the stuffed grape leaves, and when I tried to order the hummus, they were also out of the hummus. That was unfortunate, but I went ahead and ordered the chicken Shawarma roll which came with french fries. We both liked our food, which was fresh and flavorful. The fries on my platter don't look appetizing, but they came out hot in seasoned just right! We also ordered the fried green tomatoes and place of the stuffed grape leaves that we wanted as an appetizer. They came out hot and fresh and was very delicious. Both of our meals, including one soda for my son was only like $36 which is excellent in today's economy! We both also took some of our food home so the portions are good. Overall a good experience. Next, I went with a friend who had never tried Ethiopian to eat dine-in, thinking that hey, maybe it was an issue of getting take out. So disappointed.
