I'll start by saying I'm not a big seafood person. I'm the guy that thinks fried seafood is good seafood (I know I'm wrong) Well Crazy Crab proved me wrong on that note. I had to add catchup and Redhot (no I don't put that $hit on everything) to make it edible. My wife had the king crab leg boil bag. She said it was decent but nothing special. I have been to seceral crab boils it this is the first one in my area.. love it... not the healthiest meal, because the butter is heavy but the food is outstanding. Really good, really messy, really worth it. I inhaled the entire thing even the boiled egg. For newbies the 1/2lb crab, 1/2 shrimp was a great way to go. Mix Cajun (medium spice) and lemon pepper. Unassuming, low key, flavorful and good seafood spot for a Midwestern palette. Was pleasantly surprised by this place after only just discovering it was open, apparently sometime back in December 2019 according to a staff member. Ordered the C1 snow crab and shrimp combo with All Mixed Medium spice flavor and was not disappointed. Anyone having experienced these type of crab (hot) spots scattered throughout the Southern portion of the continental will immediately recognize the steamy flavor punch bag, however there is a noticeable difference in the freshness of the seafood. Understandable considering most ports are not readily accessible in the middle of the country. However one can definitely overlook this minor hiccup due to the intense and awesome flavor blends that smother and satisfy your taste buds. This place had a bit of a wait and I was tempted to leave because I'm sure another guest was seated before I was (not sure if they were friends with the hostess or not) but once we were seated we had great service. The waitress was amazing and regally through. She had great recommendations and made up for the 30 plus minute wait. Once we ordered it didn't take long at all before our food was out. For the amount of food and taste the price was extremely reasonable. I spent 20 and some change for 1/2 shrimp, muscles and sausage and my friend spent around 28 for a pound of blue crab and 1/2 of muscles and crawfish. No one had leftovers. The food was so good there was no way it would've made it home if we had to carry it out. I ordered the crawfish, shrimp, lobsster tail with cajun medium spice. The sauce has a buttery garlicky flavor thats awesome. I almost forgot...I ordered hushpuppies as an appetizer. The food was hot. There was no wait for seating. On the butcher paper lined table, you'll find a bucket for scraps filled with bibs, plastic gloves, wet naps, silverware, and a crab cracker. The service was great. Went to this spot twice. Very clean establishment. Warm greeting, very pleasant. Now the first time i ordered the shrinp basket, the shrimp were not clean. Gross! I gave it another chance because my girlfriend loves this place so i ordered a bag with shrimp, no head. I specifically asked the server are they deveined she responded yes! When we arrived to pick up our free meal, they said they could only give 20% off and threatened to call the police. Crazy Crab was a great experience! My bf and I felt like we were on vacation. The decor was great and the restaurant was spacious, but not noisy and overwhelming. For appetizers, we got fries and popcorn shrimp. We could've done without the popcorn shrimp and the fries seemed undercooked/soft. I also feel like they could add a cajun option for the fries bc they were kind of bland. I love my fry seasoning. For the main course, we got the 1lb crawfish, 1/2 shrimp, and 8oz lobster tail in mixed bag, and added 1/2 lb of sausage. The mixed sauce was soo good and reminded me of boiling crab! Found this restaurant with a suggestion from Yelp. Just visiting the Deerborn area and made the drive up here. Very glad we did. Got the combination of crab legs shrimp and lobster tails all mixed together with spices and a medium heat. I dont eat at crab places because of the strong smell most give while dinning BUT this place had no "fishy" smell at all which made my dining experience perfect! That extra extra extra spicy sauce is to die for, the potatoes, corn and eggs were super as well. Ate sum catfish too and I was pleased by the freshness and flavor. The food is good. I ordered C1 all mixed seasoning. I would have like to have had better customer service. No body seemed happy to be working. Lord forbid you have a question. This place has the potential to be great but remember customer are number one and should be like that. So many businesses leave because of customer service. This place is reminds me so much of the Boiling Crab in San Jose, CA. Now the line is pretty long too. Last week I was waiting 1 hours 15 minutes to get the table but it's worth the wait. The quality of their seafoods is great! Too bad Crazy Crab doesn't have garlic noodle (pasta noodle stir fried with garlic butter and top with Parmesan) cos garlic noodle is better than the noodle that they had on the menu. For fried food they're suck cos it's frozen and just throw in the fryer so it's nothing special. But I usually order Make My Own Combo which is Crab, Shrimp, clam, corn and sausage with All Mix and spicy level is Hot. I suggest though the sauce is just too little. Don't be greedy I spend $80 minimum exclude tip there every single times I went. I also order for pick up few times which I think it's better choice than waiting in line for hour. read more

I really enjoyed my crab legs in garlic butter sauce. However, my husband was less impressed with his food. He had a fried seafood platter with shrimp, oysters, and calamari. He said the batter on his fried delectables was good, but the oysters were dry and needed a sauce to possibly counteract the dryness. I'm going to give this place the benefit of the doubt and say they're probably trying their best. However I went there yesterday afternoon to pickup up my carry out order. Service and timeliness was great however the food itself was horrible. I ordered the fried basket combo A the shrimp was good but the rest of the food wasn't very good. The fries seemed as though they were prepared in a wet oven. The catfish was poorly breaded with a "frozen fish stick" taste. I'm just an out of town visitor for the weekend.
