If you like it a little quieter ask to sit in the bar area. The food was delicious. The Crab Rangoon appetizer was excellent ordered per server. The fish and chips was good and was a nice portion. The broiled seafood platter was good the crab legs were ok didn't snap so you had to work at it to get your crab meat. Parmesan cheese grits are unique with flavors very enjoyable. Sorry no dessert was full. Will be back.

Southern home cookin! Red taters, and Florida orange cake, oh my! The story goes that this first started out as an ice cream place. Then it morphed into a biker bar, and now it's the local seafood joint. If you look closely, you can see remnants of its past lives, from the obvious ice cream counter to the biker decor studded throughout. The great thing though is that there's something for everyone here. Even though this is primary a seafood restaurant, they have lots of options. Burgers, chicken, and you could probably request to make one of their pasta dishes vegetarian. I had the mahi sandwich that came with coleslaw and a side. I opted for the red potatoes and I loved the simplicity of it. Just cooked taters with light salt and pepper, that's it. I told the waiter I didn't want the coleslaw because previously, he brought us a sample and I knew I wasn't going to eat it. It was mayonnaise heavy and not much else other than the cabbage. Wish they'd let you choose another side, but believe me, it's a lot of food so I didn't miss the additional side item. That orange cake though, that was my favorite item hands down. The very essence of Florida in a dessert. Also, their house hot sauce is great, give it a try.

We were out and about and decided to try this place out on a recommendation. Sat at our favorite…read morespot, the bar. Dining room was very busy but the bar was slow. Great service for being so busy. First off, my all time favorite beer on draft! Michelob Amberbock!! Of course chilled mug! Ordered raw oysters, delicious. Then shared the fisherman's platter. Everything was yummy except the Fried oysters were not as good as everything else. Fresh made onion rings, scallops delicious. Very large seating area with Tiki bar next door.

Awful! We live in the area and come often.. we sat at 7.. took 20 minutes for server to even get to…read morethe table.. we received our food at 9! That's right 9! We ordered 3 burgers (2 med, 1 well done, the well done being for a child) and 2 tunas.. all 3 burgers came out wrong (wrong temp and wrong toppings, one burger had wire brushing in it, which owner argued, saying there's no way) tuna was ice cold, and not seared cold, like fridge cold (which again owner argued saying there's is no way) . Server was great and apologized over and over ( which she should not be apologizing she's not the one in the kitchen) owner (female) finally came to the table, asked us how our dinner was. When we expressed how it was, she began to argue with us, saying there is no way that things were wrong. At one point addressing the server as if she was the one who made our food. At this point, we had enough and knew it was not going anywhere! The owner did take off 1 burger and 1 tuna.. which was appreciated. After being talked down too, we all expressed at the table, that we would rather just pay our bill and leave! Not one time were we rude, disrespectful or mean in any way to be spoken to the way she spoke to us. Absolutely wild experience! We truly love this place.. but this has definitely set a tone. Edit... Her response says it all! Facial expressions were because we were absolutely appalled at the fact that she was arguing about our experience! While ahi tuna is supposed to have a cool center the fish was ICE COLD.. FRIDGE TEMP FROM TOP TO CENTER! When asked to take it back to heat it.. it was microwaved.. which then turned it gray.. but once returned that pink center was cool, not FRIDGE COLD! The wire brush was in the burger.. she argued with us stating it was a hair from the onion(which burger was supposed to have no onion) .. even though you could perfectly see it was a copper wire of some sort! Mind you it was found at the end of the burger. The reason we didn't take the offer of new food, is because we were done.. 2 hours to get our food, and they waited till the absolute end, to approach our table! By that point we had eaten what we could and she was speaking to us by this point like we were awful people.. WHY WOULD WE STAY ANOTHER HOUR! Especially after being talked to like she was! We couldn't get a word in! So as you can tell about her response from here, you can only imagine her response in real time!!! Horrible display of an owner!

Out day tripping and shopping and the DIL had this spot recommended for an early dinner. It was out…read moreof the way for us, but we went for it and are glad we did. Looking at the reviews already posted makes this place seem bipolar. Maybe it has everything to do with the day of the week, the cooks/chefs on staff and/or managers/wait staff present. This was a Saturday, so.... The better half wanted to sit indoors and the DIL outdoors. A compromise was made and the table selected was in between. The service was exceptional by our waitress (I wish we could recall her name). A solo musician played mellow music and had good vocals. Very relaxing atmosphere. All the food ordered was tasty and abundant. The highlight was the Grouper sandwich the better half raved about, even the day after she was talking about it. The meals came with a tasty brown bread and house salad, which was a nice addition. The drinks were not watered down and well made, at a price point that was quite acceptable. We all look forward to returning; but it may need to another Saturday if that's when they have the A-Team working.

The…read moreoverall vibe was chaotic, hot, humid, and sub-par cleanliness with profanity-laced dollar bills stapled all over. Florida! I'm certain the condiment bottles in scattered baskets never get cleaned. I never leave poor reviews, but potential guests must be warned of this place. My elderly aunt and I arrived at 4:10pm after driving an hour to this place for a late lunch. It was Father's Day, so the place was packed and busy. So busy, that the wait staff were frantically running around the place. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a young hostess who looked as if she were in a total daze. We were told there would be a wait, though an approximate time was not given, so we decided to saddle up to the bar outside which was filthy with wet coasters and squeezed lime wedges and trash littered all over the floor. When we were finally texted that our table was ready, at 4:50pm, we were sat outside at a table with a dirty ashtray. We placed our order and waited for another 30 minutes for a two salads and bread (served with "butter", which was really an oily margarine with herbs). Only one salad made it to the table, and the fried pickles were brought 10 minutes before my salad was served with nervous laughter by our waitress. The manager did come to our table to apologize for our waiting, so I politely requested a free beer for our trouble, which was denied. I work at a brewery and give free draft beer if someone has to wait more than 5 minutes! So, she offered a cheesecake instead, which we thanked her for (and which costs their business more than a free draft pour, but I digress). Another 25 minutes pass, which places us at 5:45pm, over 1.5 hours past our arrival. The food finally comes to the table. I placed two orders for hushpuppies, but only one order made it to the table. They were not very good at all. My aunt ordered shrimp with cocktail sauce, but it wasn't cocktail sauce. It was salsa! The waitress explained to us that seating had recently been expanded, but the kitchen staff had not, which was more than obvious. In the end, our food was comped 100%, but the poor experience really ruined our appetite, so we didn't finish our food. While we did have some beers and a cocktail, at no point were we offered water, and the free cheesecake the polite yet condescending manager offered never made it to the table. They didn't have the good sense to tell folks at the door that the wait time was closer to an hour, completely overwhelming themselves instead of taking care of the large parties that were already dining. Gators aren't the only thing to beware of at Cherry Pocket!

The second we walked in, the smell hit me like, "Cancel your goals. You live here now." Smoky, delicious, slightly illegal levels of good. We were greeted and seated by a super nice guy who said, "Patrick will be right with you." Two minutes later... Patrick shows up. Five minutes later... Patrick brings drinks. Ten minutes later... Patrick brings food. At some point I leaned over to Ross and whispered, "Where is the original guy?? Did Patrick eat him??" Nope. SAME MAN. Sir is host, server, possibly chef, and I'm 90% sure he rotated the earth slightly to speed up our service. Patrick sold me on the Prime Rib sandwich like a seasoned car salesman and I folded immediately. Ross got the loaded smokehouse sandwich because he likes to pretend he makes responsible decisions. The food came out fast and looking disrespectfully good. I blacked out somewhere between bite one and "I should stop." I did not stop. I have no regrets. My diet has filed a missing persons report. And let's circle back to Patrick--this man has the energy of three employees, a double espresso, and unresolved childhood dreams. I want whatever he's having. I would follow him into battle... or at least back for dessert. As The Terminator once said, "I'll be back." Mostly because I found out Patrick works Wednesday-Saturday... and apparently those are now my "nutritional delusion" days. Would 100% trust my GPS to ruin my plans again.

There was a beautiful patio area that drew us into the bar after seeing all the great drinks being served. The bar was filled with a trendy ambiance of warm candles, books and cool original art pieces with a nice vibe of upscale patrons. We sat in a corner nook with a beautiful foot locker as our table covered with magazines. A lovely bubbly server immediately brought us menus and introduced us to the restaurant that was filled with well dressed mostly female patrons surrounding the L shaped bar. Signature Sangrias are the go to drinks and I ordered the Kumquat Sangria that uses locally sourced Kumquats for a special one of a kind citrus based Sangria. Definitely a must try drink that comes with an optional kick of Southern Comfort on the side. My wife got the Very Berry Sangria that came filled with fruit and included chop sticks for eating the fruit. A Great Drink as well. The bathrooms were also worth a visit to see the library books and fulfill a fantasy ;-} we will definitely be returning for the next Friday Fest and our new central Florida favorite bar.
