Crazy terrible! Masks required but not for the chefs at the Mongolian grill, who by the way was sneezing up a storm against the wall behind him. Place is falling apart. There's a really weird vibe in there. Sat down and immediately everything smells like toilet. Later realized they had a mop bucket behind our booth. Lady cashier who was on her phone looking at pictures and charged us for drinks we didn't order! All of this would be forgivable all of it! (yes I'm easy to please) if the food was half decent. Food is the worst Chinese I have ever had! Lo mein is just yellow flavorless spaghetti. Beef and broccoli should be called beef jerky and broccoli. Chicken gumbo tasted like it was 3 day old fried chicken that was microwaved. Wife was thinking twice about eating what she ordered at the Mongolian grill (cooked by the maskless sneezing chef) which was dry, flavorless, and chicken meat tasted spoiled. Don't be fooled by the broccoli with cream cheese, it's not cream cheese it's mayonnaise! Wtf!! I simply cannot believe there was people at this place! I can't believe it's still open! read more

We've been here quite a few times, but usually it's for lunch. I'm guessing everything is made fresh for lunch but not so much for dinner. We tried it at dinner tonight... I normally enjoy egg drop soup, and they did have some but the pan had crusty stuff on the sides and the top, like they haven't changed it since lunch! One pot of soup was completely empty except the crusty chicken on the bottom. And it was like that the entire time we were there! all the soups... just out all day getting crusty. I'll be sure to post a photo of it. They do continue to make more food that they run out of, and for the most part, they keep the buffet area cleaned up. Another difference at dinner time is that they only want you to sit on one section of the restaurant, so it was a busy night, kids were crying and they make everybody sit in the same section causing it to be quite crowded especially when people are getting up and down to go to the buffet. It's just not very good customer service having everyone sit so close to so many people. If they didn't have a spot to make your Mongolian plate to be cooked right there, it would be hard to go back. The servers are pretty good at making sure our drinks get refilled, and clearing plates. But with seeing the soup, I'm a little concerned about what else they aren't changing out or keeping up with. read more

I am not especially fond of buffets but this one is pretty good. I have eaten here a couple of times now and have been impressed by the selection, quality, and cleanliness of the place. There is a wide selection from a salad bar to Chinese dishes and barbequed ribs all for around $7 a person at lunchtime. Or if you choose, you can select fresh raw meats and sliced veggies to make your own stir fry concoction. Plus they have desserts which include hot apple pie/cobbler and vanilla ice cream to go along with it. Give them a try and make sure to bring an appetite with you. read more

This place has really gone down hill. It needs a major revamp. The atmosphere is depressing. You know there are problems when you have clear tape holding together portions of the wall. The food isn't much better. They don't refresh the food enough. Most of the food taste as if it's been in the buffet line a while. Jalpeno rock salt peel and eat shrimp is good and tasty. The crab puffs are a little sweet for my liking. The lo mein is savory and the popcorn shrimp is light and crunchy and flavorful thanks to being breaded and not battered. The mongolian grill is cool, its basically build your own plate. With sliced onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, jalapenos, bean sprouts, broccolli florets, pineapple chunks, sgmhredded cabbage, sliced beef, pork and chicken. You choosr from various dressings like teryaki and house, you also choose if you want oil or butter . This used to be my fav thing to do. But the current cook tends to just barely cook your selection which causes sma pale, appearance. I now ask for more cook time. Also he tends to let the food sit on the grill and then walk back and just toss it around a bit and serve. This causes some components to be undercooked . The ice cream is good and there is a good selection. The coconut macarroons are great. General tso chicken is too hard to cut through. read more

I took a friend to the buffet at 1:20 today. Ate a wide variety of the food which tasted OK for the most part. I experienced severe GI upset one hour later and tapered off 4 hours later. My friend had other selections and feels fine. Needless to say, this one will not be visited again. read more

I guess the spaghetti, deep-fried whole Tilapia, corn on the cob, pizza, and chicken nuggets should have been a red flag but, ever the optimist, I gave it a shot. I like chicken wings at Chinese buffets, although the deep fried ones aren't very Chinese. The chicken here looked as if it had been hacked up with a machete--bones sticking out in every direction. The tepid, oily one I ate didn't make me want to go back for more, which never happens. The salt roasted (?) shrimp were mealy and fell apart as I tried to peel them. Broccoli, gray and mushy, had probably been in a freezer since the Obama administration. The rack of baked ribs, again not Chinese, was Ok--the meat tender. The meager assortment of rolled sushi used the lowest tier of ingredients. I guess having something stirfried on their Mongolian grill might have been my best bet. The music was obnoxious. There are many places to eat in Harlingen. I have no reason to go back to this restaurant. read more

Worst buffet I've been too. The sweet and sour sauce had the consistency and flavor of water, while the general tso's chicken felt old and chewy. The apple pie and chicken nuggets were burnt to a crisp and I didn't even bother eating the desert brownies (they looked like dirt). I've never complained to a manager before, but when I did here, the manager seemed to dodge around the issue. When I complained about the chicken seeming old, he went to the pork and said it was warm, and when I complained about the Apple pie he just pushed it down with a spoon and said it was good. 11/2010- Food was varied and delicious. Almost all Asian food, with boiled shrimp too, fresh, fresh. Both of us thought it excellent for everything we tasted, and the price was right. Definitely one of the most interesting, tasty and clean spots of those we tried over a week in Harlingen. We will be back. read more

O K, so I've been here b4 and it was alright, but today it was not. First I went to wash my hands and the ladies bathroom was horrible, paper everywhere, a toilet was not flushed, couldn't take it, to attempt to try to figure out whether it was stopped up or not. My husband also said the men's bathroom was just as bad, paper everywhere and the trash can full as it wanted it to be, of course the women's was just the same. OK so I tell the lady up front and says ok. By the time we left, it still wasn't cleaned. I wanted to kinda leave but I doubt they would have given our money back. Second, I only saw one waitress for like six tables, not to mention she slapped my drink on the table as she turned her back, couldn't even say thank you. Third, it was so HOT in there, I could have eaten outside and been cooler. Fourth, I kept waiting for them to refill the pans and of course they didn't.
