We ordered food & drinks to our table on Father's Day, so we could have a little time before bringing ''to go' pizzas home to the kids. Decided to drop in after a looong ass day at work. I went around happy hour so plenty of seating.. it took about 15 minutes for a waitress to come and take my order I almost left. However a waitress came in the nick of time. I decided to order an appetizer, the jumbo nachos with ground beef it doesn't look good by the picture but it was pretty tasty. Tons of cheese, the ground beef was nicely seasoned, good portion size for an app or a meal. The guacamole didn't taste good to me , it tasted like it was old... but decent meal all together... Food and drinks were good. I have been in the industry for 30 years and never experienced such poor service and lack of acknowledgment from management. After reading other bad reviews I can see The management never takes blame for it's mistakes but only makes excuses. My husband and I were in bar for one hour and forty minutes and ordered one round of drinks and received half of our appetizer order. The server never brought us plates or cutlery. We saw our server twice in that time frame. We finally had to flag down another server to get our check to get the hell out. The host stand made the excuse that she had too many tables but we could not find her at any table... no idea where she was. What a poor excuse to give a customer. One hour and forty minutes!!!! This place sucks. I've been a few times and it gets worse each time. The most recent visit, a couple friends and I came here on a Sunday and decided to get the rum "buckets" which were on special for $14. We assumed that each bucket would have at least 4 drinks in it but instead, it basically held the same amount of liquid as your average water/drink glass. On top of that, the drinks were extremely weak. The food was alright but also overpriced. They only give 2 refills per person of non-alcoholic beverages. Never fails, every time we come here.... the service is awesome. The parking is hit or miss, as they have a very busy location. The food is great; our server (Deanna) has been attentive and friendly even while dealing with what have been some very high maintenance tables (as a previous server, I know who these tables are) and she's even been cheerful with folks who have no personality or appreciation for hospitality staff. It's Cinco de Mayo, so everyone's out. She's checked on us continually, done a great job of knowing when we need drinks and has made our experience a very pleasurable one. TOTALLY disappointed in the service we received from the hostess Olivia and our server Dana. This was our very first time at Crazy Pours. We walked in no one greet us, which was understandable due to it was a Full house. We were able to find seating on our own. When we saw our server we asked if we could or drinks. She was very rude and instead of taking our order she asked.."HOW DID YOU GUYS GET HERE" next was the hostess Olivia slamming menus on the table and waving a list. She did not know what some drinks were ("straight up" confused her) and liquors stumped her as well (Campari, ftw) Basically, this is not a place to experiment with new drinks. Stick to your old favorites and you'll be fine. One the menu for us that night was: -Southwest Eggrolls - I'm addicted to these. Anywhere I can order them, I do, and they always make me want another dozen orders of them #hungrygirlproblems -Baked Clams- Our waitress forgot we ordered these, I think. They took more than a half hour to arrive! I wasn't impressed, as the "baked" portion covered the clams themselves, but the topping was soggy as a car wash sponge. Pass! -WINGS. yum. serious. Had dinner last night at Crazy Pour. I would say the service was excellent. The food was horrible. The waitress told us their special was a $8.00 pizza. My wife ordered a 12 inch with beef. We were charged $13.95 for the pizza and another $1.50 for the beef. So the $8.00 pizza special was $15.45. By the way, there was barely any beef or cheese on it. Our friends ordered a beef roll, that my friend said was a cheese roll. There was barely any beef on that. I have to say, I won't be going back anytime soon. read more

I went to Crazy Pour with my girlfriend on Memorial Day (5/26) to watch game four of the Western Conference finals between the Blackhawks and Kings. As an official Blackhawks bar, the siren thing is LOUD so be ye warned and cover your ears if you are sensitive to loud noises in enclosed areas when the Hawks score. Crazy Pour is therefore ideal for watching hockey but also a good place as a social gathering for friends. Hopefully they do this also for Da Bears during football season, too. Immediately upon being seated indoors (we did not go out on the patio because it was raining and we wanted to watch the Hawks game), we were greeted by a friendly and vivacious server who suggested that we try the Arancini. Despite our server and us both agreeing that they were a wee bit skimpy on the VERY tasty vodka sauce, it was excellent nevertheless. After gobbling that down rather quickly, we then chose to order the jumbo nachos, which were fully loaded with quality ingredients but quite spicy even by my own standards (I love spicy food). They also have the 'Not Your Dad's Root Beer' beer, which I love. It tastes just like root beer and yet is a whopping 20% abv! Better yet, a pint only costs $6 there! The beer is moderately-priced and the atmosphere of this place is sporty. The location is a good but not great one. I do not think it is a good place for kids, either. Additionally, it should be noted that Crazy Pour also has off-track betting, slot machines, a great selection of libations, cheap wings, an outdoor patio, myriad screens for watching all sorts of sports and other things on TV, and billiards tables. Ultimately, I give this place 5 stars because of the management/ownership of Crazy Pour. On Yelp we bought a $10 for $20 worth of food voucher. After dining, we were $4 short of meeting the $20 minimum purchase requirement with our food so, even though we were full, we were going to order an additional food item. Before we could do so, the owner Tiz came over to our table personally and generously honored the promotion anyway. I wish more establishments had that kind of accommodating customer service and they should strongly consider doing so, too, because it will invariably lead to more positive buzz on social media and more 5 star reviews on Yelp which means a win-win situation is created for everybody involved. read more

The first time we went it was just alright, we ordered 2 mains - one was a pretty good meal and the other was 'average' at best, ok it wasn't good. But that plus the location (kinda near home, but not near anything else), it just wasn't the right combo and we didn't plan to return anytime soon. Half a year later I had a 'feeling', we were looking for a 'middle ground' to watch a packers game and I decided to give them a call. It was definitely a stretch, but somehow worked like MAGIC. Let's call this a 3.5 star place. I was reading the Daily Herald and saw that one of their writers did a write-up on Crazy Pour, which is what first alerted me to this place even existing. Apparently it opened in September, but seeing as there isn't much on North Ave, I never saw it. Actually, you might miss it as you drive down North Ave. It's right next door to AutoZone, FYI. My bf and I were looking for a place to watch the NFL conference finals and decided to check this place out. If you're looking for a Blackhawks bar, this would definitely be the place to be. We walked in just as the Hawks scored a goal, and off goes the foghorn, which scared the crap out of me. It's super loud, but I guess that means they do a good job of making you feel like you're at the game without having to sell your soul for tickets. There are tons of TVs and projection screens. Everywhere you turn, you'll catch the game. THey also have a sports ticker behind the bar, which is cool. No more squinting to see the bottom line on ESPN! This isn't just a hole in the wall sports bar, though. It's pretty nice on the inside, though I could do without the pick-up lines WordArt in the bathroom ("Was it love at first sight or should I walk by again." Really?). They don't have a ton in terms of food. They have pizzas which looked pretty good judging by the people we saw who ordered it, and the burgers sounded good too. We both went for a panini and ordered some beer. They need to update that beer list, though, because every time we asked for a beer, they didn't have it. We had to keep looking back at the tap handles to figure out what to get. Our food took a while to get to us, which was surprising considering there weren't many people there. I didn't mind too much since we were watching the game and having a beer, but I was hungry, so it was a bit noticeable. I wasn't too impressed with the food. They really shouldn't call it a panini. It was more of a hot sandwich. I'm not a sandwich snob by any means, but I do frequent Panera and I watch a lot of Chopped, so I know what the frick a panini is and this was not it. It was grilled cheese with bacon. And in fact, I could probably make a better one at home. The fries were meh. I would prefer fresh cut. Food aside, the atmosphere here is cool and great for a game. They also have off track betting and a video gambling room off to the side. I'll probably be back when I'm in the mood to watch a game, but I'll definitely be trying something other than the "panini" and I hope they update their beer list by then. read more

I have been here on four occasions, and the beers and ciders on tap are plentiful. I am particularly fond of the Ciderboys Magic Apple and the super potent - and it goes down like concentrated root beer- Not Your Dad's .... The food seems to be hit or miss...I have had the hit chicken wings, and they were tasty, and sometimes (Monday?) they are 50 cents a piece. The chicken wrap was good, but their fried cheese curds are slightly rubbery. Service here has always been good, usually attractive, sweet young waitresses who are good with follow-up, if not with beer knowledge. The building space is HUGE, with an attached OTB and TV screens all over the place. The acoustics, much like its sister restaurant, the Overtime Bar and Grill, are bad, bad, bad, due in large part to the concrete floors. One Sunday afternoon I was in having lunch and drinks with a friend, and although the Daytona 500 was on, there was more noise due to a party of 12 year old basketball players. And while the kids were not out-of-hand or rowdy, the cacophony produced was obnoxious. Enough so, that we left early, and so too did a group of guys wanting to watch the race. I had one drink (coors on tap) which took approximately 7 min. Server never appeared back to check on me. I left $10 on the table and left.
