Came here with a friend and her kids to catch up on life. We shared the vodka pasta and the hot honey pizza while the kids ordered the Mac n cheese. The atmosphere was dark inside but good lighting to see the menu. They were quick with our service and asked if we wanted everything out together which I love when they ask that. Food wise... it isn't all that tbh. The kids didn't like the Mac n cheese, they said it lacks flavor which it did. The pizza was decent. Nothing special really. The highlight of the whole dinner was the vodka pasta. It had such a good spice, flavor, and the pasta was cooked to perfection.

very busy, lively atmosphere. everyone is enjoying themselves and celebrating something. the service is very friendly but unfortunately slow. i imagine it's because of just how busy this place is and how many people they have to attend to all at once. the smells are wonderful and very easy to notice from a few blocks away. the salmon quinoa salad was respectable. there was very little avocado and mango, though. i think i counted 3-4 chunks of avocado on my entire entree salad. my boyfriend said he enjoyed his pizza but wasn't expecting it to be so "limp"... not entirely sure what that means but it doesn't sound too good. not a bad experience by any means but not the most impressive either.

Place is an upscale vibe but massive TVs that over look the space, so definitely is conflicting on the vibe. Waited an hour for a table because my brother didn't secure a reso. Finally got sat after having a beer at the craft beer bar across the street. Table still had dirty linens in the seats. Lovely start... So service was beyond slow. Place was super packed and obviously good by the turnover of tables. Ordered up some drinks that took a minute. Then finally ordered an arancini app. They were ok. Super small. My date and I had split a house salad, that was decent. We also split the prosciutto, arugula and burrata pizza. Pizza was really good and no complaints. My brother and his lady got the Vodka pie. I totally would go back for another try of this place. They definitely are popular and the pizzas are really good.

We came for lunch on a Sunday to take advantage of their half price pizza deal and it was wonderful!! Highly recommend. It was quiet for lunch but I can imagine they get very busy at dinner time. It was gorgeously decorated for Christmas and I can see it being a great spot for the family or a cute date night. We did not need a reservation but it's not huge, so if they do get busy you may need one. The menu was pretty comprehensive and had a lot of enticing options. In the end, the pizza deal sold me though! Special note - they have excellent gluten free crusts for people looking for that.

This place is all the vibes you need for a relaxing meal. I came between lunch and dinner and was very surprised with how alert the staff was, normally that's when everyone goes in neutral and service slows down. I ordered the lunch special and it was a very fresh house salad (even had avo) and pizza. I was pleasantly surprised with the salad ingredients. Pizza was good, nothing to brag about, but great flavor and was perfect for a quick bite. My server Fabian was wonderful, I'd highly recommend dining here.

Happy Hour Review! Ella's hosts Happy Hour within each of their location's bar area. Elmhurst's thankfully has a larger bar to seat quite a few guests. They do a variety of slices, apps, draft beers, and house red/white wines. I really enjoyed everything we ordered and always enjoy the food here. The portions are rather large but pricing can be a bit confusing. Breakdown below to help! Pricing Breakdown: -M-F, 3-6pm in Bar Area (no reservations) -$8 Combo: (1) slice or app + (1) draft beer or house wine -$5 Appetizers (HH Opts: Onion Dip & Chips, Chorizo Stuffed Dates, Pub Cheese) -$3 Slices (HH Opts: Ella's House, Simple Tomato, Farmhouse, or Charred Pepperoni)

Overall: Satisfied with the Roman-style pizza, Sunday discounts, and restaurant ambiance. Dissatisfied with the appetizers and slower wait staff. - Would I return?: Yes, I will typically eat at the restaurant in the summer, and take home during winter. My Food ---------- * Ordered- "Ella's House Pizza", "Farmhouse Pizza", "Hummus + Veggies", "Pub Cheese". * Flavor & Taste- Personally, the Ella's House pizza is one of my favorite and most unique pizzas I've ever tried. Flavors of citrus, creamy ricotta cheese, and honey mix so well together and tastes light, like a summer day on the Italian coast. The Farmhouse pizza is good for those who like meat. The appetizers I had were not worth it. The hummus and vegetables/pub cheese was a small portion and nothing that stands out. * Order again?- My family loves the pizzas and will order again. * Portion Size vs. Price- The pizzas on average are $23 each and give you 8 pieces. I can usually have 2 before feeling done. On a Sunday they have half off pizzas which is a great deal. * Menu Variety- Unique pizzas The Place -------------- * Atmosphere- Modern Italian style with an outdoor section in the summer. Large space. Nice bathrooms. * Service- Servers are typically college-age and will occasionally take a little while to come back to the table after the food is served. * Crowd Levels- Weekends 5pm, moderate * Cleanliness- Clean, nice bathrooms * Location- On a corner, nice popular neighborhood always with people walking and shopping. * Parking- Free street parking

I was here for a weekday dinner with a friend and we both can see ourselves coming back here and being frequent. Ella's was pretty empty when we first arrived, however, by 8pm it seemed to fill up a bit. The indoor space is decorated nicely, very modern and clean. Service throughout the evening was OK. It started out slow but once our drink and food orders were placed the items did come out within a reasonable amount of time. I was very surprised that a place in the US has wine on draft. MIND BLOWN. They offer a house red and white. I'm not typically a white wine person but I decided to try it. It was crisp, light and went nicely with the pizza. THE ELLA'S HOUSE PIE?!?! The crust from Ella's does it for me. It is the perfect amount of thicccccck and crispy. I love a 'funky' pizza and this zucchini and white cheese pizza surpassed my expectations. I really enjoyed all the different cheeses on it and the zucchini was the perfect touch to having something fresh. For dessert I tried the butterscotch budino. This was creamy, rich and delicious. The pistachios gave it an added texture/crunch that I really enjoyed.

We went to visit our daughter at college and we ate here not once but twice. Everything we tried was amazing.

$14 10-3pm lunch special from Monday to Saturday!!! I mean come on! We decided to split to meals so we could taste a variety. We got the Crispy Romano Chicken Piadina and the Farmhouse Pie! Both were full of flavor! The staff was very attentive and friendly. Always kept our waters full and were really easy to chat with! The patio is also pretty big which is a great place to have lunch! The umbrellas make it very comfortable and bonus- dogs allowed!

First off I will start with the look of the place. Modern but cozy. Went during warmer months where they had some nice patio seating. Ordered off of their lunch menu where they had some decently priced options. Service was average but quick overall. I think I tried the spicy piadina which was flavorful but a tad greasy. The pizza was great! Crunchy and cheesy! Worth a try.

New ownership is keeping the ice cream (cinnamon gelato is fantastic) along with the Pineapple Dole Whip. Theme is North American Fusion so think Canadian, US, Mexican fusion. Menu include regional favorities across North America from Birria Poutine (amazing) to a White Fish Sandwich with Squid Ink and lime crema (come on now! It's fire!). This place is unique distinct and different and I love it. One of the owners has some legitimate cocktail chops (finalist in season one of Mixology on Netflix) and is bringing his background and passion to Villa Park! You can also try his cocktail bar in Itasca called No School Tomorrow which is similarly different, delicious, and unquestionably a great time especially if you lived life in the 90's. How freakin lucky are we to have a gem like this in Villa Park! My only hope is that we don't blow it. Like any new restaurant they are refining menu items and working out kinks. Food and drinks are on the pricier side (they have a solid kids hot dog and fries option for $5 for kids though) but what is the going rate for Squid Ink?! It is also unlike anything else you will find in Villa Park or Western Suburbs, or really anywhere so I would say absolutely worth it. Staff is also ridiculously friendly and excited about their product. While they have awesome specialty cocktails that you will not find anywhere else (pozole spices in a cocktail?!) they are also great making any classic cocktail you can come up with. My one feedback for now would be to up the dish-ware if going with higher price items vs going with paper products. This might just be they are testing things out. I'm also excited to see some brunch options or perhaps coffee and pastries in the future to get the biker/ boozy brunchy weekenders with kids crowd.
