We will return just for them on any given day, and a beer flight My entree was the NY Strip Steak, delicious and cooked perfectly. We ended our meat with a custom beer flight. I'm a 20-year-old college student, currently attending an HBCU, and came home excited to revisit Pour House--a place I used to enjoy. I went with my mom, expecting a peaceful lunch. Instead, we left embarrassed and disrespected. We ordered multiple items. My Kung Pao cauliflower was great. My mom's fried pickles were soggy and too salty, and the buffalo chicken dip looked undercooked and tasted off. We politely asked if the pickles could be removed from the bill and if she could order something else instead of the dip. The manager, Phil, came over already defensive. He didn't ask questions--he accused us of "always sending food back," said it was "costing them money," and refused to remove both items. Then, instead of working with us, he said he'd take care of the check and told us not to come back. When we calmly said we felt targeted, he threatened to call the police. It felt like they were waiting for a reason to push us out. The moment we gave any feedback, the tone shifted. We weren't loud or disrespectful. We didn't refuse to pay. But suddenly we were treated like we were trying to get over on the restaurant. Like we didn't have the money. He even tried to "little girl" me--as if I didn't have a right to speak up--because I'm young and Black. And when we explained that the way he was treating us felt discriminatory, his response was, "My niece is Black." As if that cancels out everything else. Let's be clear--we are paying customers who spoke up when something wasn't right. That's not a problem. That's normal. But this experience made it clear that our presence wasn't welcome. I was out with a friend today and we decided to grab a bite to eat. We had been to the Chicago location and were so excited to see this restaurant here! I had the Rubaeus beer with their Bacon Cheeseburger. The pairing was delicious! I felt there was a good amount of beer to enjoy throughout the meal and my time there. We started off with fried pickle which are some of the best. I had the fried chicken sandwich. The sandwich the perfect spice level and is always cooked perfectly. Dinning room area is big enough to bring a date, a large family or party with group of friends. The bar is pretty long with 30-40 bar stools. We have been here before and burgers here are great but this time we stopped in for few drinks and appetizers. The pulled duck nachos are my FAVORITE appetizer here. Good size to share and comes with plenty pieces of duck meat and a generous amount of wonton chips. Jordan was one of the bartenders working behind the bar during our visit and the poor girl had to deal with a rowdy DRUNK dude who didn't want to leave after getting cut off. She handle the situation very well especially since we later discovered they don't even have security to handle these types of customers. This restaurant is part of the bottleneck group. Went out for a girls night and decided to try this place on a Friday night. Booked reservations the day before to ensure we had a table too...service was good overall. We did get our app the same time as our meals (which made it really busy at the table with very little room), but other than that the server was very nice and attentive. I don't know what it was but it was just off...I ate it anyway because I figured it was just me eating a different kind of "tinga" that I wasn't used to. What a cute place to go for a mid-week pick-me-up! My girlfriend and I met up here on Thursday evening for some drinks and munchies. We arrived around 5pm and the happy hour rush was already there. As a side note, parking is quite disastrous in this area, so anticipate adding at least another 10+ mins to your time just to find a spot! We had a nice corner booth, and got started with a couple of virgin mocktails. The strawberry was tasty, with a zingy, sour punch, but full of fruity flavor. We placed our dinner order quickly, since we were both hungry, and the food came out in a timely manner. The quesadilla was delicious. The aioli sauce on top was superb and I was left wanting more! I almost debated ordering another to-go! While I had visited this establishment before for a work event with catered small bites, this was my first time trying their menu food and non-beer drink options. So it was my first time there but despite the short wait and crowded venue I enjoyed everything. The hostess was kind and eventually scored on me a single bar seat on a Sunday Football afternoon. The ambiance was nice. It was game day as I mentioned so enough televisions throughout to keep everyone attentive. The menu looked very good and had options to my liking. I decided on a weekend brunch option which goes to 3pm. However the regular menu is available as well. The breakfast was really good. I had the mother's hangover bowl. The grits were nice and thick a pinch under salted but the pork belly (bacon) was nice and thick, 2 sausage links, and a fried egg. A great combo and more than enough food for a hungry person. I also ordered fried pickles and the batter was light and not overly breaded complimented with a great ranch sauce. I wanted wings or a burger but couldn't decide so I went with breakfast but I would probably do a burger next go round. The beer options plentiful... I had an Alter IPA and a Peach cooler which was made with maker's mark and peach schnapps. A refreshing beverage but a bit too sweet for my liking (I don't drink anything with added sugar in it so it could have been me). I didn't feel rushed and the bartender gave great suggestive options.
