Crazy rodeo with added green and black olives
    Kawana B.

I initially saw an ad on FB. They had great reviews. I decided to try them out. I am glad I did. Pick up only no seating inside. Great great service! I felt welcomed when walking in. Now to the food... All of the ingredients are fresh and pies are of course made to order. From the crust to the sauce all made in house. There are some really unique flavor profiles which makes them stand outside of the rest. I look forward to trying other delicious items on the menu. This is what I had: Chicken and pineapple: 10/10 signature classic pie. The grilled chicken flavor goes well with the sweet and citrus flavor of the pineapple all finished well with the pizza sauce. Crazy Rodeo: 10/10 all ingredients all play well together and create a crazy rodeo party in the mouth. The meatiness of the ingredients really shine through. I could not taste the honey. I probably should have left the olives off to take in the flavors of the pizza. It was still outstanding and one I would definitely order again. Garlic cheese sticks: 10/10 cheesy, gooey, and good. Cinnabon bread: 10/10 they did not skimp on the cinnamon and brown sugar. The glaze is gooey and delicately sweet. Bread pillowy.

This is what I ordered, a Side Mediterranean Salad for $7. It didn't even come close to this...

I happened to find myself here after going through Braums drive thru and it was closed. Of course I yelped it first, before ordering and it has great reviews! I ordered online and went inside to pick up. It's a 100% to go restaurant. I walked 3' into the entryway, right up to their 4' tall counter for pick up. The guy who was working last night was very sweet, timely and meticulous! I ordered a side Mediterranean salad, their pepperoni rolls, a pepperoni calzone and an apple pizza, all to try and see what I liked best. The salad was terrible, it was mostly solid hard white and brown pieces of a head of iceberg lettuce, yuck! The onions were supposed to be red onions, but they were white, second yuck. The pepperoni rolls are not your classic rolls, I thought they were going to be. They were ok, I forgot to order Ranch, maybe they would have tasted better? The calzone is large enough for 3 meals, but it was terrible, it's mostly my fault. Somehow I chose to add meatballs, which I hate, instead of mushrooms, ugh! I was so hungry, as it was 5pm, and I hadn't had a bite of food all day. I was so looking forward to the salad and calzone, and they were both terrible :( Note to self, make sure you've chosen to add mushrooms and not meatballs to your calzone, oh boy. And lastly, the apple pizza was good. However, had I known the amount of icing it's made with, I would have ordered it without the icing, it was a bit much and made the pie overly sweet. So not the best experience, partially my fault. If I go back, I think I'll try their pizza and make sure I choose mushrooms and not meatballs as a second topping!

    7 cheese Pizza with Meatballs

We had a Alfredo sauce 7 cheese pizza and added meatballs to it. The crust was a little thicker than I like but it had an amazing flavor. The meatballs were thinly sliced and had a great texture and flavor. The pizza overall was delicious. The staff that created me were friendly and helpful. This was first time here and we will definitely be back.

    Santa Fe
    Kristi N.

It was odd to decline a Visa Debit gift card while accepting my Visa Debit card. Not sure if there are fees so they decline.? We ordered and small Santa Fe & medium florentine. Both look great. Soft crust but still holds the very watery, soggy toppings. That's usually a problem & super soggy in the middle, falling apart, toppings sliding off the center. Didn't happen here. :) Was very little sauce on the Santa Fe, maybe because of wet toppings, so it tasted "watery" without the rich base but still very good. The Florentine made me laugh. I expected fresh spinach. The style is like creamed spinach at German restaurants. A garlic spinach base. Perfect for me who loves Ghormeh Sabzi so now I'm wondering if Persians are keeping it on the menu? Lol. Most I know would be mad about this. I loved it though. The person answering was very nice too.

We got a medium, thin crust pepperoni. Good pizza. Nice crust, spicy sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. Check it out!

    Meatball Sub

Flavorful, great value, on time, super nice staff. The portion of the sub was great, packed full of meatballs. Pizza crust was super chewy and delicious. Perfect proportion of cheese and sauce.

The house Manhatten was delicious with subtle adjustments to the traditional recipe. The Arancina Tradizionale is a fried ball of tasty saffron rice, stuffed with Bolognese and peas. Its a great appetizer with lots of subtle flavors. As an entree I had the Cacio E Pepe, the famous pasta prepared in a wheel of pecorino cheese and covered in fresh ground black pepper. The pasta was perfectly al dente, the cheese was creamy and mild, and the pepper nicely balanced the richness with a mild spice. I ordered shrimp on the side and it was well seasoned and nicely charred. My wife had the geilled salmon and loved it. We didn't really have room for dessert, but since everything else was so good, we couldn't resist trying the Tiramisu and Strawberry panna cotta. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. Be prepared for European style service and you will leave satisfied.

The menu I think had a good variety of entrees to choose from, and we both ended really liking the dishes we ordered. I ordered the pasta bolognese, and it was great. The pasta was cooked right and the sauce not super over powering. We will definitely be back to try other dishes. My only complaint was that seating is a little cramped, and everyone including the restaurant staff had to maneuver around chairs, etc. but other than that we really enjoyed our visit.

After that, the experience was pretty disappointing. The restaurant was not busy during our Wednesday dinner. There was a group of 6 servers standing in a pod chatting during most of our dinner. Our server had the personality of a brick wall. I overheard other servers describing dishes to guests, telling them the daily specials and making them feel welcome. Our server did not, which is sad because I was about to pay $30 per plate, plus $14 per cocktail for my husband and I. The Atlantic Salmon I ordered was very large, but too salty. The lemon sauce was not good. The consistency was very thin and tasted tart, poorly seasoned. The veggies (broccoli and carrots) were an afterthought. That made me sadder than my overcooked salmon...because I LOVE broccoli. Small peices of broccoli and carrot sticks were served hiding under the salmon on my plate, probably too ashamed to show themselves. My husband said it looked like they used the frozen veggies that go in stir fry. We paid the large bill and as our server started walking away he said "Yall have a great night"...like in passing, no eye contact, no commitment in it. I can get that exiting phrase at any chain food in the city. What a shame!

This is simply a fantastic neighborhood Italian restaurant with consistently excellent food, a fun bar, and a great atmosphere. We especially enjoy sitting on the outdoor patio when the weather is nice. Every meal starts with complimentary bread, which is always a nice touch. We shared an order of calamari as an appetizer. It was good and exactly what you'd expect from a classic Italian restaurant. On our most recent visit, we ordered the Chicken Alla Panna, featuring mushrooms and shallots in a rich brandy cream sauce, the Eggplant Parmigiana served with pasta, a New York-style pizza, and the sea bass special. Every dish was excellent. The sauces are flavorful, the ingredients taste fresh, and it's clear the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. The bar is equally impressive, offering an excellent selection of beer, wine and cocktails to complement the meal. One thing to know before you order is that the portions are large. We had plenty of leftovers to enjoy for lunch the next day, which is always a bonus. If you're looking for a dependable neighborhood Italian restaurant with outstanding food, generous portions, and friendly service, Spazo is an easy recommendation.
