We were headed out this direction and really wanted Italian food, so we took to Yelp and found Venezia -- and it did not disappoint! Prices are very reasonable, portions are large, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Drinks were a little on the pricey side, so I passed this time, but I hope to come back during happy hour to try them. The restaurant has plenty of seating and a nice, casual yet chic atmosphere. So nice to have a finer dining option besides the Downtown area- great job to the team who put such care into this beautiful transformation of this location. We had a large group and they were accommodating. They have a large wine selection and nice cocktails. The meals were wonderful! Our group ordered a variety and were all very happy with our food. There are no plant based options. And the cheese forward vegetarian plates are a little heavy. I went with the Vodka Tortellini eating a bit of the chicken but focusing on the tortellini and sauce- delicious! My plate was way too big so I took home a hefty leftover portion. Also, highly recommend the broccoli yum. They serve bread before the meal and it was good. Our table ordered key lime pie dessert and we ooohhheed so much over dessert! Kind and patient staff round out a great experience. Pro tip: split a plate. They are seriously way too big.

We've been meaning to try this place for awhile, looking for the perfect Mom-and-Pop Italian restaurant in the area and Venezia Trattoria did not disappoint! The decor is very tasteful- almost can't believe the place is a refurbished Steak-and-Shake! Promptly greeted and seated, by a very personable server. The Bruschetta was light and tasty. We tried the Veal Parm and the.Tortellini Vodka and both were great looking and great tasting, in ample servings. We finished dinner with a slice of house-made amoretto cheesecake! All in all, a wonderful dining experience. We'll be back soon!

Delicious and friendly Found Venezia for Happy Hour and can't stop going for the smiling faces and some of the best Marsala I've ever had. Tuesday through Friday from 3-6 pop in for a glass of The Prisoner for $14, an order of the Baked Meatballs (2) $5, and the crab Stuffed Mushrooms (3) $7. Maybe 2 more glasses of wine. You'll find me sitting at the bar most places I visit so I can get to know the staff and their patrons. Allison is fantastic and the charming Tony will ensure you're attended to. The atmosphere is casual but you'll see and feel the subtle attention to details. It's relaxed with upscale Italian and wonderful staff. While I may not be "local" this has already become too of my Happy Hour list. Grazie mille!

Last night our family finished up an art activity in downtown McKinney. We were starving afterwards and I didn't think to make reservations on a Saturday night. We went to a few spots in downtown and there was an hour plus wait at 7:15pm everywhere. So I googled spots near by and this place popped up and we were semi close. I'm not going to lie my husband and I didn't have high expectations of this place; but we were grateful that they had tables available. We were instantly greeted upon arrival; the place was busy, we were sat within seconds. Our waitress was very sweet, juggling several tables, and doing a great job. They have a nice selection on the menu; we started out with the stuffed mushrooms and the baked meatballs. The mushrooms were really tasty, the meatballs were decent. We ordered the tortellini soup, it was good. My husband's dish was the best, he got the vodka tortellini; the pink sauce was really great. I got the chicken piccata and the kids got the lasagna and the cheese ravioli with alfredo. Everything came out rather quickly. Portions were good. And no one complained about the food taste wise. All in all it was a great experience.

Arrived at lunch time and was surprised at how loud it was on a weekday. However, the experience over-weighed and was very pleased with the service and food. My husband ordered the Lazagna, which was a huge proportion, and I ordered spaghetti with meat sauce. So delicious! They include crispy salads served in chilled bowls and warm bread is generously served throughout the meal. Can't wait to bring my GF to check it out!

We are semi-regulars here, but it's been a while, so I came here to say that we still love everything about it here! Family owned and operated, we were greeted by Tony who offered us a taste of the newest Chianti, it was delicious! The stuffed mushrooms are delicious and the sauce is divine.

Good comfort Italian food! Service was very attentive. The atmosphere is warm and modern ambiance. We'll be back! Must try. - Only thing is calamari was tough and dry. Other than that everything was good!

This place has quickly turned into a work day favorite. Everyone I've taken there has liked it. Everything we've had there has been delicious. My favorite so far is the lasagna. It is on the cheesier side but so, so good. I love that their lasagna and meatballs are made from beef. Most places use a beef and pork mix that we can't have because we don't eat pork. Their bread is good and they bring out already softened butter so you're not tearing the bread while you're trying to spread the butter. The chicken dish I had was delicious and moist. The service is next level. Every staff member we've encountered has been so good. They're all friendly, professional, and respectful. The ambiance is welcoming. I love what they did wit the bar area and the ceiling. They definitely catch your eye. They have great lunch specials that fill you up and are very well priced. It's a local, family owned business so definitely do check it out and support.

Will call this a hidden gem for anyone, but especially for travelers since it's off the beaten path. Every member of the staff we encountered was friendly. They have a lounge upstairs. The main dining room is lively and inviting. The space is tight keeping you from an intimate experience. The tastes in both plates were fresh and flavorful. The menu notes GF pizza, BUT they also offer GF penne. My only complaint was not having bread to soak up the glorious cream sauce on my scallopine. For the GF crowd, it can be hard to find fresh Italian dishes that taste less than the normal dishes. Outside of the substitute pasta, you wouldn't know the gamberi was GF. We were a party of 7 had appetizers, drinks, entrees and desserts. The food was good but nothing special and amazing. I would give more preference to the food than I would the service. At 620pm the waitress asked us to leave as there was another party needing our table. Again we were there an hour and 20 minutes. Our bill as most had multiple spirits and wine was $400-500. I wish they were just a little more polite than you need to leave as there is another party with an upcoming reservation. Maybe a little warning. We grabbed our belongings and went and got a drink at the Landon winery. I will post the pics as I said I feel like their food is decent. They are a small quaint place in downtown McKinney and were busy when we left.

The pasta was perfectly al dente, the cheese was creamy and mild, and the pepper nicely balanced the richness with a mild spice. I ordered shrimp on the side and it was well seasoned and nicely charred. My wife had the geilled salmon and loved it. We didn't really have room for dessert, but since everything else was so good, we couldn't resist trying the Tiramisu and Strawberry panna cotta. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. The cagliaritana had the PERFECT ratio of ingredients and the crunch on the pizza was unreal. Everything tasted and smelled insanely fresh. The Caesar was loaded with freshly shaved parm and somehow tasted way better than a Caesar salad has any right to. I think the croutons were also homemade? Perfect! The small three cheese pizza was also perfect -- great crust, great sauce-to-cheese ratio, and honestly the perfect size to split with someone alongside a salad. But the TNT panini?? Holy crap. The second you unwrap it, the smell of the garlicky focaccia hits you immediately. And the pink sauce was some of the best I've had. The tiramisu was also the perfect sweet ending to the meal. It wasn't overly sweet and soggy like most in this area. Cannot wait to try the cannolis! After years of searching for real Italian food, I finally feel like I found it. We didn't realize until we were ordering that they do a BOGO half off deal on entrees every Tuesday, as long as everyone orders an entree. As a result we definitely had too much food on the table but it was nice for our party of 7 to try a bunch of different things! I didn't have time to take pictures of it all, but we started with the bruschetta and the sautéed mushrooms. Bruschetta came out hot and great as usual, but the mushrooms were a bit salty. The complementary salads were nice and light and our servers were great at refilling waters and bringing out more free bread throughout the night. For our entrees, we ordered the creamy lemon shrimp pasta with spaghetti, the eggplant parm with fettuccine, the lasagna bolognese, the shrimp spezia, the tortellini bolognese (one of the specials that day), and the dolce e salato & cesarini pizzas. My favorite items of the night were the dolce e salato pizza (the sweet and savory combo was excellent and the crust was light and fluffy) and the shrimp dishes - the shrimp was cooked very well. I'm not a big red sauce person but the bologneses were also pretty good. The long noodles were a little mushy in all the sauce but the tortellini was not bad. Portion sizes were huge so we took three boxes of leftovers home! And one of the ladies at the host stand helped us take some nice group pictures outside the restaurant after our meal.
