Appetizers and vibe were so nice -- we ordered fresh focaccia w ricotta and calamari. The entrees we ordered were okay. Chicken parm: chicken was delicious, saucy, cheesy. Pasta was very simple, not much sauce or flavor. This might be more classic, but i ended up just eating the chicken. The lamb pasta was interesting -- I could taste cinnamon or cardamom or cloves or some spices in the lamb that reminded me of Indian spices. It was different but didn't hit the craving for a classic meat sauce. Salmon was delicious but it was seriously such a skimpy serving of potatoes and veggies for the dish. Not a $27 value, in my opinion, but hey, everything is insanely expensive right now. The tiramisu was the star of the show -- so moist and fresh!! Our yearly tradition of celebrating either Birthdays or Anniversary is at CT. The food is simply amazing, ambience is lovely, service is average. Our favorite dish is the lasagna verde paired with a Caesar salad and our favorite item in the menu, the rosemary focaccia bread. 8/10 only due to how little our salad was, remember it to be a bit larger. What impressed me the most what they use like Diet Coke in glass bottle, really nice tableware, everything made from scratch, unique decoration that make the restaurant warm and cozy. I feel like service could've been a little better. My refill was quite slow but overall service was decent-good. Food... was great but missing a little element here and there (personal opinion). Man, I love the calamari here but it just needs a little seasoning. For the Wagyu, the steak wasn't rest long enough before it was cut (not a big deal) and I personal find potatoes to not complement the steaks well due to both item was quite greasy and oily. I think the steak would've pair better with perhaps mashed potatoes? They nailed the tiramisu (nothing to say about that). Super cute decor, and $5 martinis were definitely a highlight at this attractive Italian restaurant. My girl's group came for GNO. We all agreed the place is stunning no doubt- gives all the vibes! But very uncomfortable to sit unfortunately. We ordered apps to split. And the martini special. I ordered the same martini twice but got two different tasting drinks. But I didn't complain- they were $5. No vegan options, and no vegetarian options for entrees. So for my main I ordered the Buratta appetizer. It tasted fine. All my dining companions said their plates were ok. Our server was kind, and had trouble keeping our tickets separate. The food was very good- my dish tastes way better than my husbands. The ambience was so beautiful and gave a more elevated vibe. I love their outdoor patio and their range of Italian food offerings is a good fit for large groups or even picky eaters. We started with the Buratta and it was delicious ! I could have eaten the whole plate myself. I had the Tagliatelle and it was incredible. The bone marrow was so flavorful. My only critique is they should have provided the small marrow spoon and fork to scoop it out of the bone. My husband ordered the Chicken Parmesan, it was not as good as mine, I could tell the Tagliatelle noodles had been made from scratch vs the spaghetti noodles on my husbands meal was definitely boxed so some inconsistencies there. There weren't a lot of patrons when we called (and arrived); however, it seemed like the hostess was running five different jobs. They may need more help with staff... a dedicated hostess, dedicated services, etc. Ambiance: It is such a cute place--whether you're looking for a family brunch or a girls' night, this place is pretty good. The decor was also spot-on--the flowers and overall upkeep were great. Food: we ordered the calamari app, bread for the table (although we didn't order it, they brought it out, and we thought it was complimentary... it was not), gnocchi, kids fettucini alfredo, and steak. We walked in around 8pm and were seated immediately. We loved the cute elevated decor. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive. He made wine and entree suggestions. We came here with a couple of friends on a Sat night. TDLR: would definitely recommend this neighborhood Italian restaurant. The food tasted great, and our server Tania was terrific. I think we may have had an off-night on how they handled our reservation. If it weren't for that, I'd give them a 5! Food: I got the Pappardelle, my wife got the fettucine. Both were among the best we've tasted in Dallas, even compared to our current favorite Roman Cucina. We've been told to also order the brick oven half chicken and the duck, which we'll come back for. Drinks: well presented. The old fashioned had the spherical big cube, and was on the sweet side. My wife had the passion fruit juice, which had very strong flavor (preferred...you can always water it down if you need to). Ambience: beautiful & posh inside. Elegant casual outside. Once you're in, it's hard to remember that you're in a shopping center - everything from the entrance to the restrooms have a beautiful aesthetic. Service: We had a reservation indoors, but when we got there (on-time), we were told there was a 15-20 min wait unless we were willing to sit outside. It was a little bit before prime time, so we were a little surprised. We ended up taking the outdoor seating, and the weather got a little too chilly after sundown. On another day, this would have been perfectly fine (or maybe preferred)...but we figured the point of a reservation was to have the seat we wanted if we showed up on time. The inside of the restaurant was nicely decorated but my party decided to sit outside for one of the last nights of the year. I had fettuccine with béchamel sauce and bone marrow. I was so excited to see bone marrow on the plate as I love the umami flavor. However, this bone marrow was severely overcooked and the marrow was shrinking away from the bone. Heard great things about this place and decided to have our date night here. The place is superrrrr cute really nice patio as well. We got the calamari, focaccia bread and a Caesar to start. Calamari was perfectlyyyy cooked and seasoned great boyfriend loved the bread. Next we shared the chicken parmigiana and the lobster ravioli both good as well. I'm a huge chicken parm girl and i loved it best I've had in a while. And then we finished off with the chocolate cake and ricotta cheesecake. I was on the fence about this review but the Death Stare from the guy dressed in all black ( Darth Vadar) in the kitchen prep area helped me decide this review. Half chicken was good and we were given a nice size serving of tiramisu! Water tasted good, some staff were helpful, delicious caesar salad and Eddie brought me 2 free cannolis for my birthday! I've been here 3x. The interiors are very nice and the food is pretty good but very expensive. Nice drinks but also very expensive. I've been to their sister restaurant which I think is much better in terms of food quality and taste. Even though it's close to my house, I wouldn't go back. Update: I had dinner here on 8/16. The shrimp linguine was pretty good. Very disappointed in the overall service. The server was hard to find when needed, but also pretty busy. We were seated right away, which is nice because lately some places make you wait, despite having reservations. The decor is open and welcoming. Definitely a lot to take in and view. My SO judges Italian restaurants by their lasagne. Since I've been making my family's recipe for him for years, it what he compares others against. So, he ordered their Lasagne Verde, and he said it was almost as good as mine, as he proceeded to eat every single bite on his plate. That's high praise from him. Definitely means this is on the return list. I ordered a basic pasta pomodoro, as I just couldn't make a decision on what to get. It was very nice, delicate and delicious. So often tomato-based sauces can be very acidic but this tasted very fresh. Pasta was cooked to perfect al dente. One thing that I thought was okay was the focaccia. It didn't seem anything special. We met another couple here for a double date night. They had been here before, but we had not. I was pleasantly surprised at how adorable the restaurant is inside being that it's in a strip mall. I was not expecting the crystal chandeliers and the cute table tucked away to the side of the bar. Everything here makes for a very cozy date night!! Our server tonight was Brendan and he was absolutely great! It makes such a difference when you have a good server! Our food was so good I forgot to take photos!! My Rucola salad and shared Polpette Appetizer were delicious! One of our tables favorites was the Polenta appetizer, which is filling enough to be a dinner. I am personally not a fan of anything close to blue cheese so I ordered the Rigatoni at my servers direction and it did not disappoint! I really enjoyed this Italian restaurant! It was my first time trying lasagna verde and definitely will not be my last. The buratta was delicious and paired well with the focaccia bread. My boyfriend ordered the ravioli but I was not a fan as the sauce was really sweet- but that's just a personal preference! I have been wanting to try this place and my sister and brother in law were in the area. We arrived 30 minutes before close because... nurse-hours life, so we were worried service would be bad. It was Wednesday and there was still a lot of people there. Live music was playing, the hostess was super nice and welcomed us in. We got Matias and his service was excellent, we quickly ordered but we never felt rushed. I ordered the short rib and gnocchi it was delicious. People still arrived after us, no one seemed annoyed. This review is mostly for all the parents of littles. This place has an unwarranted uptight attitude for a sub par restaurant in the suburbs... they were just unaccommodating. Food was mostly decent, but nothing to justify the uptight attitude... we won't be back. Let me start by saying that my children (5 & 3) are EXTREMELY picky eaters so finding a place where the whole family can enjoy dinner is pretty much impossible. We don't often have nights to ourselves without the kids but we still want to enjoy nice dinners, so most of the time, we'll just grab the kids something from McDonald's and ask to sit outside or away from the rest of the guests as to not make a scene or ruin the restaurant's vibe. Even with our own food for the kids, we'll ALWAYS ALWAYS order kids meals from the menu anyway bc we don't want the restaurant to feel like they are missing out on revenue just bc we brought in food that we know our kids will definitely eat. Usually most restaurants (even super nice ones where we leave paying nearly $500 for our meal) are super accommodating, but not Ciccio Trattoria. Right after we were seated outside on the patio, our server informed us that outside food is not allowed and told us we had to get rid of it. I tried explaining how picky my kids were but they weren't having it. I put the fast food bags in our diaper bag and just left out a chicken strip and a couple tater tots on a bread plate for our kids to munch on and continued ordering our appetizer. I figured as long as we weren't displaying the outside food, it would be fine. The server came back out with the appetizer and again told us that we needed to dispose of all of it or take it to the car. How embarrassing. At that point my husband was ready to just leave, but they had already brought out the appetizer so he decided to just take the kids to the car to eat their fast food while I ordered our meals (we ordered 2 kids entrees and 2 adult entrees), leaving me alone at the table for half the time we were there. When the food came out, I texted him to come back in...and as anticipated, my kids just weren't into the food we ordered for them. They actually spit out the chicken strips and refused to eat it. I tried it and it was dry and bland...almost inedible. So I'm actually really glad we had brought them food, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to eat at all. In terms of the other food, I did enjoy the carpaccio appetizer, but the carpaccio from Numero 28 in Allen is WAAYYY better. My hubs had the short rib gnocchi and he thought it was pretty good, but we both much prefer the gnocchi at Davios in the Colony and it's not even that far. I had the lasagna and it was ok. The lasagna from numero 28 Allen Ristorante is a million times better..and again, not far from here. So I see no reason to return when there are other nearby places with better versions of all these dishes that won't embarrass us for trying to find ways to enjoy nice meals as parents with picky toddlers. I read the other bad reviews and it sounds like our experience is pretty in line with the general vibe of their service. They act like they are a Michelin star restaurant but they need to realize they are just a neighborhood Italian restaurant in a shopping center in the burbs, whose food is not worth acting that uptight about. Like, chill please. There are nicer, more upscale and more delicious restaurants that are way more accommodating and that's where we'll take our business. read more
