We went to look at the 8.3 apy interest deal. Beware of the strings attached. Maintain 10k balance in checking, use their credit card 15 times per calendar month. And have a direct deposit once a month. And open savings for $5.00. Enrolling is weird. Start out with teller, then into cubical to talk to someone on a computer, then back to teller to deposit money.So have your financials and personal info ready in hand. Another strange deal is they have to set up a link to pay credit card from your checking. Then they also have to set up recurring internal auto payments. They did screw up the recurring payment deal and dropped our balance below 10k. They admitted screw up and said they would fix within 48 hours. If you go with them just monitor closely for the first few months. And they did not ask any questions about why we qualify as members, law enforcement etc. Pretty sure anyone can join. read more

I opened this account about a year ago to have a local financial institution specifically for home repairs and mortgage-related payments. This account is only used for that purpose. Overall, I hadn't had many issues--until yesterday. On the same day, a few credits and debits posted to my account. CCCU processed the debits first, which caused NSF fees, even though the credits posted the same day and immediately covered the amounts. Given that my account has always been in good standing, with no prior NSF history, this felt like an error. My understanding has always been that same-day credits are applied before debits. I called to see if the fees could be reversed. I spoke with Miguel, who stated that since it wasn't a credit union error, they could not reverse the fees. No alternatives were offered--no overdraft protection discussion, no courtesy reversal--nothing. The interaction made me feel like I was asking for free money rather than requesting a reasonable review of the situation. Honestly, this experience reminded me of the practices Bank of America was criticized for years ago, when debits were reordered ahead of credits to generate NSF fees. I ultimately decided to close my account. Miguel said he would send the documents to sign online, but I never received them. Three hours later, I had to call back, only to find out they were never sent. Jerry ended up resending them and re-verifying my information. To his credit, Jerry was more empathetic and did offer options--but by then I had already changed my direct deposit with my employer. My advice: consider taking your business elsewhere. read more

Just closed on my dream home yesterday and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Jen was amazing and was always available to talk through any questions I had. Mimi was able to get me in to sign first thing on my new home and I was able to get in the very same day. Ryan was fantastic as well. He offered me the best interest rate and was able to get me to a mortgage payment I felt comfortable with. This transaction was manageable and with everyone's help I was able to close on my dream home in a quick and efficient manner. I will continue to work with this dream team. I was buying a car at Henderson Chevy and selling my other car at Carmax. I don't live in the area but this branch was closest to where I was shopping. I had to get a payoff letter, a check for payoff, and a check to buy the new car. I walked in to this branch and was so warmly greeted by Amy K! "Hi welcome in! How are you? What can I help you with?" Super friendly. So I told her the situation and she said they hadn't gotten the email for the check quite yet. I did my first ever home loan here. I was a complicated case for a few reasons. We have a high income which meant jumbo loan, I am self employed, and I bought during a strange time. Ryan Lopez was excellent. He guided us well and got back to us within the hour throughout the entire process. The processing itself does need to be tidied. We went from 5 to 10 to 15 to 20 percent down within 48 hours of closing. We often felt vilified because we are small business owners. The app needs some work, it's a little weak. We had to go into Clark county to actually get it sorted. Everyone was very friendly so I feel guilty complaining about the app or process. We ended up in our dream house so I can't fret too much. read more

The following is my very first transaction on my new checking account: I came in to cash a savings bond and open a CD. After partially completing the back of the bond, the assistant manager, then tells me she cannot redeem the bond because I haven't been a member long enough, hands me back the bond, and I go on my way to cash it at my other bank, only to be told They cannot redeem it because CCCU filled out the back of it. I return to CCCU only to be told they will not redeem it, but will assist me in filling out paperwork to have the bond replaced and I can then send it to the Treasury Department currently in upheaval, and wait. very bad business. Spoke with supervisor of branch, who said they would cash the bond but now need a certified copy of the death certificate where yesterday the one I gave them was just fine. Since that will take just as long as sending it back to the treasury, they have now invented a reason not to make this right. I do not recommend this credit union. read more

Me and my son walked in so he can open his first account and he was given an application. He completed the entire app and was told he'd be called back to schedule an appt their banker was busy and booked for the day. We never received a call back. He opened an account with Chase the next week. Great service! My wife completed a Refi app online as instructed when we called. We never heard back. She Refinanced with One NV Credit Union. Great service! I called Clark County to let them know why they lost two clients and member services said they would have the Branch manager from their Lake Mead location reach out to me and how that was unacceptable. This location is terrible, and as I've only been with them for 4 months it's left a miserable impression on the entire company. First, the security of the building is atrocious. For months upon opening their door to the ATM after hours it would not lock behind you. Even after they fixed the lock, the door still doesn't shut properly, and was jammed for an entire weekend leaving the ATM inoperable. There is a homeless problem in the area and I've had to call the police because of vagrants waiting outside the door. Once you get to the ATM, it's amazing of it works. In recent weekends the machine was jammed with another person's card, then last night I made a cash deposit which was not posted to my account immediately like cash deposits are supposed to be. I called and they have no record of it and say it will be 5 days to investigate. So they basically stole my money. The people aren't much better. While the tellers for the most part are professional, their other staff leaves much to be desired. I applied for an auto loan, and was given specific guidelines. Basically I could get a loan for 85% of the value of the car up to a certain dollar amount. I researched a vehicle that online through edmunds.com and the DMV had a higher value than what the dealer was selling for. Even the OTD price was less than the 85%. I took the purchase order back to them, but their appraisal was for less than the original price, effectively doubling my down payment. I went back to the dealer, who found me a competitor willing to honor the terms. Basically CCCU is a bunch of thieves. As soon as my ATM issue is resolved I'm moving my account to someone with some credibility. read more

No one called me Friday or Monday. Sent them a secured message on Tues - never got a reply. Another message earlier today - no reply. My wife and I are both County employees. We went to CCCU on a recommendation of a coworker who works for the County also . When he became a member of CCCU the membership process was seamless and quick . He praised CCCU for there exemplary customer service . Well after what my wife and I had been through trying to join it was a nightmare . What should have taken minutes in any other banking institution has taken weeks and we just gave up . I had taken time off from work to go to there E. Lake Meade branch and after 1 hour we were still waiting for the CS rep to conduct an interview via internet at the branch . The CCCU rep at the bank said sorry but we had to come back another day ! It was a waste of our time . We did the online thing and 2 weeks later still no answer . We just gave up . They said the issue they had was our address . Our mailing address and physical address were slightly different and it was a concern to them because it was reflected in our drivers license . We both work for the county and everything can be completely verified in a nano second . We were treated like we were some kind of bank scammers ... it's just ridiculous . read more

I called from the dealership asking for a pre approval and she got it within 15 minutes. The longest part was waiting for the dealership to get the paperwork to her lol lol. This is the worst possible credit union. We came from Michigan and belonged to a credit union there and we were under the impression that CCCU was going to be similar, wrong. First they started charging me .25 for every check they process, they charged me $35 for being overdrawn when I wasn't and now they charged me $5 for using a teller. They charged my daughter $10 for using the same teller. I just opened this account in July and now I'm going to close it as soon as I can get all my direct deposits changed to another bank. Credit unions are supposed to work for members, not nickel and dime them to death. read more

Let me start out by saying my husband has been a customer of CCCU for many years as are my step son and my daughter. We have bought a few vehicles through them over the years plus received loans and credit card accounts as well as our savings and checking accounts. And up until recently we have been very satisfied with their customer service. My husband has just recently passed away and instead of CCCU being helpful they have been anything but. First of all Mellissa is extremely rude. My step son is the beneficiary upon death on the account it was set up that way a while ago. We knew we would have to have the death certificate before we could do anything, so once we got that he went in so he could access the account to be able to pay bills and the mortgage and our car payments. Mellissa refused to even discuss it or explain why he couldn't have access to the accounts. There is a living trust so there is no reason to freeze the account. It's been very difficult trying to cope with the loss of my husband and get all of his affairs in order as it is. But they have only made it more so. We are not the only people who have found Mellissa to be very rude and unfriendly. I hope this review is helpful but I really hope they open their eyes about the associates they have working for them because once we can get to our money we will be closing all of our accounts with them. read more

Conveniently located across the street from Henderson City Hall and the Henderson Justice Facility, I bet that at least 80% of the customers at this location are City of Henderson employees. You can find it at the corner of Water St. and Basic Rd. in the same plaza as Nevada State College. I can vouch for the ease of walking over and doing my banking business on a break, so I appreciate the proximity. The staff here is always professional, helpful, and friendly when I have to actually go into the credit union for a transaction. However, most of the time I use the ATMs; there are both a drive-thru and a walk-up if you don't need to go inside. read more
