Everything during the summer is planned around PlanetBravo The owner Danny is amazing and incredibly responsive. The camp director and camp counselors are amazing. The other campers are great, and my son has made year-round friends every summer. The tech curriculum is current and always interesting. And, the non-tech time is healthy, active and fun, so I know that my son is not sitting in front of a screen all day. I also love the daily photos from camp that we can look at with our son to talk about his day. My son comes home from camp motivated to continue to do what he did at camp. One week he worked with drones, and the drone-flying was non stop at home. Another week he worked on Python programming, and after that he couldn't stop looking for things to program. Don't even get me started on 3D printing..... Last year, my son was more upset the last day of camp then he was for the first day of school. I can't think of a better indicator of how great this camp is than that....

This was our first year at Steve and Kate's Camp, and what a difference a year makes! My 6 year old son had a pretty crummy experience at a different camp last year... and came in all but convinced that camp was going to be awful. Within the first week, he was in love. They really do a fantastic job at striking the balance between having some structure in the day and letting kids do what they feel like... this is summer after all. I also appreciate that they have fun weekly activities to break up the summer. Some highlights for my son this year were: Reptile Show, A comedian/magician, Foam and Dance Parties, The daily game-show with prizes, and "summerween". He was also really excited for the camp wide talent show but unfortunately we were out of town. This isn't some 10-1 ratio boutique experience, but the counselors all seem very competent and enthusiastic... and we never had any issues. My son is currently in a phase where most of the time he prefers to hang with adults and help instead of freeform play with kids and the counsellors did an amazing job making him feel helpful and like he's part of the team. (Thanks guys!) Lastly, I'd like to point out that when I first researched the camp there were some concerning reviews from 2021/2022 about kids running free unsupervised or having bad experiences. I'm happy to say we didn't experience anything like that. The camp has a new director this year, Anthony, who's done a fantastic job and seems very dedicated and accessible. We'll definitely be back. Great job everybody!

This summer there is a new Director named Mickey who is absolutely awful. My daughter has a disability and is funded by the Regional Center and has a 1:1 Aid. They say they are good with Neurodivergent children but definitely are not. Before camp even started this new Director refused to implement any of my daughter's disability accommodations that we had in place and approved for the last 2 summers. I was absolutely shocked and had no idea why she would take away accommodations that supported my daughter previously at camp. I had to fight with the Regional Manager to get these accommodations approved again, which they finally did. Then on the first day of camp they didn't follow any of them. This camp does not allow parents on campus, which in itself is a red flag. But we had an accommodation that I was allowed on campus if she needed additional support. Within 3 hours of her first day her Aid texted to say she was unhappy because a boy was fighting with her over something they were playing with and wanted to go home. When I got to camp I talked to her through the gate and she decided she was ok and wanted to stay. I offered her a hug before I left and asked the Director to open the gate so I could hug her, and she refused. The Director REFUSED to let me hug my child. I was in absolute shock. My daughter was upset but decided to go onto the play structure to calm down. Then a boy randomly kicked her and hit her on the head. I saw the entire thing. There is zero control with over 200 kids at this camp of all ages. My daughter ended up on the ground crying, and the Director still wouldn't let me in the gate to get to her. It is the most awful feeling as a parent to watch your child hurt and crying and you cannot get to her because another person won't let you. The Director is despicable and should be ashamed of how she let a little girl suffer and wouldn't let her Mom help her. After 10 minutes they finally let me in and I had to carry my daughter out in tears. This was all because none of her accommodations were followed that had been in place the last 2 years and their complete lack of understanding of children with disabilities. There is also no empathy or understanding how to make the right decision in the moment for the child. Because keeping her Mom from her was devastating. We will no longer be attending Steve & Kates and I would never recommend them. There are plenty of camps out there that better support children of all needs and don't keep their parents from them.

Although his counselor CJ was great, and the pickup and drop off was organized, there were some hiccups with snacks that I had ordered from their lunch program that my son didn't receive and some vagueness about whether the parents should be providing snacks or not. I was willing to overlook that again given that his counselor was on top of it, very courteous and caring. However, when I picked up my son last week, on a typically hot, sunny afternoon, as soon as he saw me, he desperately pulled at my shirt yelling, "Water! Water! I need water!" He was so upset. Of course, I was very unsettled but tried to calm him, and asked him where his water bottle that he takes to camp every day was. He said he had lost it after the pool in the boys bathroom. I ushered him toward the water jugs tent nearby and asked the counselors there for a cup, which they handed me, and gave him some water which he guzzled. Obviously I was very confused about why no one had gotten him water. He told me that he had told his counselor Swordfish "23 times" that he lost his bottle and needed water. (CJ was not there that day apparently). He said they checked the boys bathroom but it has been locked and checked the lost and found but the bottle was not there. My son said that they "tricked him" because when they took him to the water jugs to get him water, they told them they had run out of cups so he couldn't have any. Excuse me?! We walked over to Swordfish to talk to him about this and he was passive and indifferent, I was so perplexed! But I kept my cool. He was like to my son who told him that he had asked him a bunch of times for water, "Oh, did you tell me you were thirsty, sorry about that, buddy." I very politely said something to the extent that it was really important to provide the kids water in this heat, and again he just apologized robotically, nothing more! So I went to talk to Michael who I guess manages there, and told him very politely about the situation and I was amazed at his blase attitude about it. He actually got a bit defensive and tells me that the water jugs are available during lunch. During lunch?? Lunch is at 11:30 and it was 4:45pm! And anyway swimming was after lunch. What does that have to do with anything ? The dismissive way he handled it make me feel extremely uneasy. My son is 5 years old. He runs around like crazy in this heat . He was so thirsty that it made him completely disregulated! And all these guys have for me is, yeah sorry. What's more is that my son later told me at home, where he had a major meltdown and was completely off all afternoon and evening, that they showed him something "really really scary" at camp. Of course, I was all ears as my pulse elevated, keeping a calm mama facade. He said in the arts and crafts room they watched a video of a superhero who flew into a building and crashed and turned into a skeleton! Whaaat. First of all, why are they watching anything?? I can put my kid in front of the TV for free at home. Secondly, why are they showing young kids anything like that? And without prior parental permission?! Oh and the kicker? We found his water bottle when we got home. IN HIS CAMP BACKPACK. So these counselors have a 5 yo kid begging them for water and saying his lost his bottle, yet they can't take a moment to LOOK in his bag?! No way am I sending my kid back here.

Six courts and they are all lighted!! -Courts aren't totally trashed. There are homeless in daytime but they do gather around and prowl at night. On a random night, I played here close to midnight- 2am and I wasn't bothered. Cons: -Super long wait times to get a court -a lot of homeless. I've never been harmed or too bothered. I've had a few flashes of unclothed people. -The ambiance can be a bit whack depending on the type of people around. You've got normal people just wanting to play tennis, old folks that play here all the time and want to coach you, coaches expecting you to leave the court mid-game so they can do their private lessons (which is not allowed because I called the city and coaches need a permit to hold lessons here! Only 1 coach has a permit and he's at the last court, always). Players who yell, cuss, and play explicit loud music on their speaker... -Real world vibe. I've had a few arguments at these courts too which has caused me to not come as much/ call the city. I normally keep to myself and only come here to practice by myself since it's most convenient.

Ponti has kids birthday parties down to a science with different activities planned out that all the kids loved! Him and his team handled it all while we got to relax and chat with other parents. On top of that, we didn't have to worry about goodie bags because all the kids went home with a couple pieces of glow in the dark art that they made. There was a separate, and massive, room for food and drinks so when cake cutting came around it was so easy. Also he made setting up and packing up so easy. Also, upon commission like I did with him for a show any Set Decorator or designer or person that loves art would love him. This particular character was Terrence Howard, who was a hip-hop Mogul in the story so the hip-hop vibe that is very much alive in pontia work was perfect. I can't say enough about his business Art Rebel because it is from adult fun to kids but extremely unique compared to a typical art business for corporations or birthday parties as it has an edge to it and is very hip and unique in the style that they present to the customer in Art Rebel! So much fun and you forget about your problems and very healing for me.

We care deeply about every order, treat every project seriously, and always keep our promises--especially on quality and on-time delivery. In September 2024, we completed a custom sign for Magikid Lab. All design details--including size, color, materials, and lighting--were clearly confirmed by the owner, Brian, before we began production and installation. After the sign was installed, Brian later raised concerns about the brightness of the letters and refused to pay the remaining balance of $1,200, as stated in our signed contract. To resolve the concern, we proposed a simple and professional solution: bring the exact letter ("G") back to our office for testing. This would allow us to explore adjustments--such as increasing the LEDs or modifying the vinyl--without making changes 18 feet up that might not satisfy them again. We informed their manager, Ashley, and removed the letter with notice. We then invited them several times to our office to test solutions. They never showed up. Later, a second co-owner, Mr. Lester, took over communication and sent us a very aggressive message, offering only $600 and demanding we return the letter immediately. He then accused us of theft, called the police, and threatened to have us arrested if we returned to the site. He also warned that he would post negative reviews across Yelp, Google, BBB, and more, labeling our business a "scam"--despite never attempting to resolve the issue properly. He further threatened to report us to immigration (ICE), hire another contractor to fix the sign at our expense, sue us in court, and file complaints with the Contractor State License Board. These threats are not only unnecessary--they go far beyond what's reasonable for resolving a routine business dispute. We're disappointed--not just by the breach of contract, but by the unwillingness to spend even an hour to solve the issue professionally. We ask: is it really worth damaging someone's business reputation over $1,200 when we've clearly shown a willingness to fix it? We believe that mutual respect and professionalism are essential in any business relationship. Unfortunately, the actions taken by the ownership of this educational business--choosing threats and public attacks over simple, cooperative problem-solving--raise serious concerns. As a parent and business owner, I would personally think twice before sending my own child to a place run with this kind of behavior and attitude. We remain committed to finishing this job under the contract. If the owners wish to terminate, they must do so formally and pay the balance owed. We continue to serve our clients with honesty, respect, and professionalism, as we've done for over 15 years. --
