Re-installed windows and sliding glass door incorrectly installed by previous contractor. Rebuilt pressure treated wood deck with improved layout. They worked like machines; measuring and communicating like a good team should. Luke is clearly a highly skilled carpenter. I had an idea for angled steps and even though it's a bit complicated he took on the project and built some really cool stairs that make my deck unique. I thought because they were local and I knew the owner they would be a fair company... boy was I wrong. I hired them because my window screens were badly torn, my trim on house was all knicked up due to hail. Some shingles also blew off the roof. I didn't even know if my roof was damaged at the time. They said they would handle everything and even deal with insurance so I wouldn't have to. The deal was they do all the work and I sign all the checks over to them. It was simple...so I thought. I didn't want nor had the time to be dealing with all this. Their contract says they never ask for money from homeowner that it all comes from insurance, yet they billed me for MORE than insurance even gave and that's even after they refused to fix things that were damaged and covered because it wouldn't be "profitable for them". So left me with no $ to repair those items they skipped out of doing. wound up paying over $31,000 and they still wanted approz $8000 more and my screens, deck and house trim were still unrepaired..they wanted the $ allotted for work they didn't do! Provided a grossly inflated bill (no sworn statements)that was blatantly wrong and they refused to fix....until the morning of court that is (you read that right). Not only were they shady, but refused to providing me with the required notarized sworn statements when we requested. Even admitted in arbitration that they do not give till AFTER the bill is paid. BY law they ARE MANDATED to provide yet wouldn't AND yet still sued us. Of course, why wouldn't they because if you read their contract and very fine print on the back, their warranty is VOID if they take you to court.... so it's only in their best interest to bring you there. They don't even try to fix their mistakes-just intimidate and demand full payment. They even sent someone to my home who harassed and tried to intimidate me. They were so unprofessional with my insurance rep. We won in arbitration (for the most part) but still they refused the ruling and pushed to court. They didn't even show or give me a chance to cross examine them since I obliterated them in arbitration neither my contractor nor the manager they sent to collect a wrong bill even showed up to testify... Hmmm. Waiting on a ruling from the judge as he took it on advisement but don't understand how he can even consider ruling for them under the circumstances. Stay away from this company at all costs is my advice. If you don't question them it should go fine, but if you call them out on mistakes... watch out!

I found JJ Construction through Yelp…read more I would highly recommend JJ Construction. They provided an honest quote. I actually went out and received 4 quotes. While JJ wasn't the lowest, they were the most comprehensive. For example, all of the other quotes quoted the shingles and work, but JJ Construction quoted shingles, tiles, gutters, and all hardware (new fans/vents/gutters). They are highly skilled. They did not rush the project (who wants a roofer who rushes?) and cleaned up every day. Communication was excellent. They installed Class 4 shingles, which lowered my home owners insurance by 20%. It was a mess. I carefully researched companies that did exterior work. I ultimately chose Olson on the basis of their reputation of doing high-quality work. Shortly thereafter I met with the project manager (Joe H) and he was helped me get the colors and materials picked and ordered and the project was underway. When the install day arrived, I was introduced two a 2-man work crew that would be handling the bulk of the work. In the course slightly more than a week, they totally rebuilt the full exterior of my home. The results are amazing and the home feels new again! Two things really stood out to me and my experience with Olson. 1). The work ethic of that two-man crew. They worked as hard as anyone I have ever seen. Except for lunch, work was non-stop from sunrise to sunset. This was hard and grueling work, especially the demolition of the old siding and stone fascia. They showed up every day like clockwork, and cleaned up after each day. 2). The quality of work they demonstrated. They absolutely knew what they were doing, and they were very good at it. Everything was installed true, level, without gaps, etc. Caulk lines were perfect etc. Everywhere they worked you could see the pride in what they do, and it was very clear there were no shortcuts taken. These two gentlemen were expert craftsman and I can gratefully say my house now reflects that. It turned out more beautiful than I'd ever imagined. I have never nor will ever receive any compensation for this review. My sole motivation for writing is to share the positive experience I had with Olson. Finding a trustworthy company for a project of this size and investment is daunting. Olson, especially their work crew, deserves recognition for a job well done. I can recommend them without hesitation for their quality work and attention to detail. They should be proud of their accomplishments, and I am proud of it too.
