I had water damage to one of my room upstairs due to a radiator leak. I wasn't sure if we needed to do just the 1 room or the whole upstairs since the wood is all connected. When I had spoken to him on the phone he said there may be a slightly different color if we do just the one room. So before he came out, I asked if he can get us both quotes. He came out when I wasn't home but my wife was. He didn't measure anything. Look at the room where the damage was and left. He didn't look at the rest of the upstairs. I didn't get a message for him so I texted him. He gave me a quote for the one room. I asked, do you have a quote for how much it would be for the whole upstairs. He said he didn't look at the other room upstairs. I described the size of the other room upstairs and he texted back with a quote. I asked if you can send me in writing the 2 quotes. He said he has to charge me $150 for the quotes. Then I said, "What? Why?" He never responded. Just in case he didn't see it, I text him again the next day. He didn't respond again. Extremely disappointed with him and his lack of response.

I was also sick of the ugly tile floors in my kitchen. Fast forward to a week ago when John's crew worked magic to upgrade the rest of my apartment floors (see pics attached). They did the same process I described above for my bedroom and added vinyl flooring to my kitchen. I highly recommend NYC Floor Pro and of all the contractors I've used during my current renovation, I was super pleased with the professionalism all around from dealing with John to working with his crew. If you've worked with a lot of folks in the trades, this is very much the exception to the rule, and as such I was pleasantly surprised. Lou quickly got back to me with a very reasonable quote, and once we agreed on the details and a date, we were off and running. We had some damage and discoloration on our white oak floors, and we wanted to sand and refinish them. Lou was helpful as we got together the paperwork my building required to get it done. On the agreed upon day, his guys showed up on time, and while they weren't the excellent communicators that he is (their English wasn't great), they were conscientious and obviously knew what they were doing. Lou said the work would take 1-2 days, and they were done in just a day. We had a minor hiccup after the fact, but Lou immediately investigated the issue, and handled it well. I learned later, with other craftsmen, that with correct tools and consideration of my desired outcome, it was not necessary to butcher my floors on their edges. This flooring company tore my floor up. I did try to go cheap so I went with them. I did not know that when we negotiated price, I negotiated away the sealant ti protect floors and allowance to butcher my floors. I was told back/forth 2/3 coats on floor. With/without sealant? Angel said 2 coats sealant. Soon dirt is well in the grains of wood. I know because I can see where a rectifying area was made with the sealant compared to everything that sticks with floor. I have question is it the @Bona #Bona product. My first rodeo. Fixing will cost me an entire 675 sq new floor. It aches my heart. I don't have that kind of money and I wanted a nice outcome. If I had been informed more, I would have work harder to have paid more instead to spend so much more now fix in a few years after I save to do it. Why are workers not honest?!!!! Please inform the consumer the cost of cutting price. I have regrets that will cost me now to redo and seal my floors, and more, if I want to resume my useable sq ftg because you ate it away to close the gaps you butchered. Please do not do this to another customer again. Just be honest even if you don't get the job. I am so hurt.

The first company told us that the floors were too old & worn and that the only way we could refresh them was to rip out the original floors and replace them with modern panels. We mentioned how sad we were to lose our original floorboards to a friend and they suggested we reach out to Adam at Wood Vitalize. I'm glad we did! Adam came to the house and, immediately after saying hello, got down on his hands and knees to give them a close look. He helped us to pick an option that would protect the floors and give them some new life, without sanding off the character they'd gotten over the last 90 years. He also helped ensure the rose inlay in the original floors wouldn't get destroyed with his process (other flooring companies had told it was unsaveable). Wood Vitalize's quote for the work was reasonable and they even replaced a few floorboards that had gone rotten underneath the radiator without charge (thanks again!). They were able to do all the floors in our 3/2 townhouse in one day (arrived on time, stayed late until it was done). I'm very pleased with their work and owe our friend who referred them a big thank you! So I'm passing it forward. If you've got floors with history and you want to keep them don't let someone talk you into ripping them out until you talk to Adam!

After reading the reviews, I figured this would be a good place to comparison shop. Best decision I could have made!!! From the moment I walked in, I knew this was an amazing business. Everyone was super friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Another very important point for me was that there was absolutely no sales pressure. That's a HUGE plus! Long story short, I had received a quote for over $46,000.00 for the cabinets I wanted. This quote did not include any extras like pull out tray/drawers, lazy susans, utensil cabinets next to stove, etc. The price I ended up paying for all of the same cabinets from the original quote from the other guy plus additional cabinets, special pieces, drawer pulls, lazy susan/utensil drawer/pull out trays/drawers, etc. was just under $21,000.00!!! This price was for the exact same manufacturer (Fabuwood) and same exact color as quoted by the other guy...That's a $25,000.00 difference! (If my actual cost seems like a lot please note I got an insane amount of cabinets/pantries, etc.) Also, I don't know how I was so fortunate as to work extensively with Furkhan, but he was incredible throughout the entire renovation process! Despite the fact that I knew what I wanted for our renovations, I knew nothing about the actual process/details. Furkhan was pretty much available 24/7 and spent an endless amount of time with me going over every detail, making sure I didn't miss anything I might need, and answering my never ending questions. He took the time to learn exactly what I wanted and went above and beyond to ensure the desired results! He also came up with ideas that seemed minor but ultimately made the difference between me really liking my kitchen to absolutely loving it!!! (I still just look at the kitchen when I walk in and smile at the results). Another huge plus was that he worked seamlessly with my contractor and everyone else involved in the project (plumber, appliance place, etc.) to ensure the smooth flow of every aspect of the project. Even when I had a small problem with an outside vendor, he took care of it for me and made sure it was resolved immediately. He kept on top of everything going on and kept me updated accordingly. I cannot possibly thank Art of Kitchen Tile & Bath enough for all their hard work. Everyone who has walked into our house cannot stop talking about how beautiful it is and about the quality of the work! And I can never thank Furkhan enough for his insights and suggestions and handling the project with such professionalism as well as following up on every detail to ensure the incredible results we achieved!
