HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE place to bring your fur baby!! They lie, they tell you that your dogs get five walks a day while boarding, but fail to tell you they actually DO NOT! Think about it. If they have fifty dogs there like I was told they did, it would take more than five hours to walk all those dogs. I watched on the cameras as one of the staff put what looked like a lasso around my puppies neck as he hid in the corner apparently afraid of her, and she dragged him across the suite to the door where along with my other puppy not so scared, went for a supposed walk which lasted literally TWO/THREE minutes! Yes MINUTES!! I was shocked, I called three times to just get the voice mail after I witnessed this. Then I left a message for return call extremely upset. I did speak to the employee that apologized for her actions, and gave an excuse that was a lie, because I know my puppies. How do dogs pee and poop if it takes longer than three minutes to walk to the back of the building to the outside? Then they want to charge you EXTRA, for accidents in their suite. Well no wonder they're having bowel movements and peeing all over, they're NOT getting enough time , if ANY at all to do their duty. I then spoke with the owner who had the nerve to tell me that maybe I got the time wrong that maybe it was actually longer, and totally disregarded the lasso, and dragging my puppy when I said " YOUR employee admitted it to me and identified herself, and also tried to justify why she did that. Another employee also witnessed it , and said it was NOT okay, that you do not pull a puppy/dog if they refuse. You attempt to show them it's okay, and help them feel comfortable with you it was also very nice outside, and that she offered to take all four of my puppies outside, but was told only two could go with her. Emily (the owner) said she would speak to Hannah (the staff member that told me her name and apologized for her actions) then get back to me. Well, that didn't happen! NOT surprised! I then asked Emily to review her cameras, I gave her the time frame when when it happened within minutes on the hour, when Emily said " iIt's LIVE footage, I can't review the past! " WHAT?" I thought? What if she had to go to court and show proof on the cameras that we pay extra for, she can't produce evidence... ?? BULLSHIT!! Emily also likes to try and charge for the accidents the puppies/dogs have in their suite/pen, which is a result of them not getting walked long enough, or AT ALL.. and make it like it's the dog that's the problem, not her POORLY run business. The communication is also extremely poor. You tell one employee something, and the next minute another employee is doing the complete opposite. I never said to separate my dogs during feedings yet they take my smallest girl dog and put her away( I don't know where) from my other dogs to feed her. Now my smallest dog is NOT afraid of my three other small dogs, if anything they're afraid of her! She's a tough little 5lb Yorkie! I questioned why she was gone for over an hour when they said she was eating separately from the others. I asked why? I was told it was as per my request. NOT!! I never told them that. They still after I said " no longer" separated her and fed her elsewhere. Also they took a water bowl out of the suite at approx 5:40 pm and never gave my four small dogs water until 8:05pm. That was after they ate dry food for dinner and supposedly went for a 15 minute walk that I can't prove. Now everyone knows that dogs go right for their water dish after a walk and also while eating dry food, yet NO WATER! I made three phone calls, and just got the voice mail. Then I called my daughter and told her I was calling the police, that my dogs don't have ANY water, and it's been two and a half hours. I also called the Angola number unaware it was another boarding place that Emily ran. Emily called me from that place earlier in the morning when I had concerns that needed addressing ASAP thinking it was her cell, that I could hopefully get ahold of her to get her staff to give my puppies some WATER! I then noticed on the camera that a lady was bringing in water, at 8:05 pm! They were all trying to get their little heads in that bowl as if they hadn't had water all day. We had to ask for a second bowl as there are four small dogs in there. Too many things went wrong without ANY accountability! The owner "EMILY " had excuses for EVERYTHING! I had been a long time customer here. At my most recent reservation, I was informed that I would not be provided the camera access that was already part of my reservation. Instead, I was told that I would need to pay for an upcharge in order to receive it. After haggling with the service representative for over an hour, they refused to provide a complimentary upgrade, or a discount due to the lack of a camera. When I cancelled, they refused to return my deposit, even though it was their fault that the reservation was not honored. They have no problem breaking the terms of a reservation, but somehow believe that their terms of service still apply when they break a contract. After several days of back & forth with the representative, and then the owner, I initiated a chargeback with my CC. In spite of their own fault in the entire episode, the owner had the audacity to contest the dispute. After being a loyal customer for several years, they're willing to just throw that away for $50. I have had multiple issues due to there just not being enough people. Today I went back and forth between doors ringing the doorbell. I did this with one foot in a boot. The person working was covering both desks and giving a customer a tour at the same time. If only people actually stayed, there might be more help. In 2 1/2 years, every employee has quit citing the ownership. Even long term employees quit. I don't recognize anyone except one person that's been working a couple of months. We'll see how long that lasts. My dog loves it, but since they are the most expensive with the least amount of employees, we are considering leaving. We went to Tonawanda Creature Comforts because our usual boarding options were all booked. After our experience, we definitely understand why they have vacancies when all other dog boarding facilities are fully booked. Drop-off: (30-35mins) We waited several minutes to be acknowledged even though there was nobody ahead of us. The receptionist couldn't find our reservation, accused us of trying to board our dog without a reservation on a busy holiday, but turns out, she was looking for the wrong name... She was quite abrasive, NEVER apologized for the accusation or took ownership for what happened or even treated us with any human decency. We had to fill out paperwork (that was already done online), regarding all of the extra charges vs. basic care. When I spoke with a representative on the phone at booking, she said that he will get social time with a worker free of charge because he is staying multiple nights. I tried clarifying this with the receptionist, once I could get her attention, because she was ignoring us, chatting with a coworker instead. She very coldly said that unless we pay extra, dogs get 5 quick pee walks a day and are in their runs the rest of the time alone and literally didn't care at all about our concerns or make any attempt to reassure us. Our dog is 50lbs and almost 12yrs old and just needs a couple fetch tosses and some pets to make his heart happy, not a whole 20 mins for $25 or whatever the money-grab rate is, especially since I had called to ask about this. Social interactions of any kind are an extra charge, including doggy daycare, which has been included in the boarding at EVERY other place EXCEPT here, where they charge extra for your dog to do anything besides eat, sleep, and poop! You also have to pay extra for photos or videos to know how he is doing while there. All other boarding places post pictures on their socials or have live streams available at no cost! At Creature Comforts you have to pay extra to know how your dog is being treated and for them to get any attention at all, even though they charge more than almost any boarding facility around at $47/day! We with a very nervous feeling but did buy him a chew treat to have while there, so he would have something to do between pee walks and feedings, but when we picked him up the entire treat was given back to us, untouched! When we asked about it he said "the dog must have been too distracted to eat it". We know our dog and he loves other boarding facilities and is always down for a chew treat, so we think they never gave it to him because he devoured it as soon as we gave it to him! Pick-up: (30ish mins) was just as bad as drop off! We called ahead to pick up our dog an hour early, due to snow, and they said no problem (because they're always so nice on the phone...when they pick up). There was one person cashing out and one person waiting ahead of us. We waited nearly 15 minutes before we were acknowledged and taken care of. The receptionist greeted us with "Next!" as if we were in line at a bank (and the way they charge extra for every little thing here it is clear money is all they care about, cuz nobody cared about the people or MOST OF ALL THE DOGS)! They tried billing for a 4 day-stay (drop-off Weds morning, pick-up Sat at 10am), and we had to justify that our dog only stayed 3 days. The manager involved herself, even though we had figured it out, and she double checked the paperwork (which was partly missing again) to ensure that we were telling the truth. The receptionist, thankfully, remembered us from drop-off, so he was able to verify the length of stay, since the paperwork had been transferred over "incorrectly". After paying, we had to wait nearly 15 more minutes for them to get our dog. Two more customers were taken before us!! One came to drop-off, but because our dog is reactive to other dogs, that dog was taken back first. Meanwhile another customer came to pickup two dogs. Our receptionist was going to make us wait AGAIN but the manager told him to go get our dog first, since we were there first! ALL front desk employees looked miserable, like they hated their jobs, and seemed clueless on what they were doing, often asking the same question several times! These employees ranged in age upper 20s to late 40s/early 50s, so they should definitely know how to have a job and treat customers! There were many employees walking around aimlessly, yet we were waiting as though we were invisible. It shouldn't have taken over half an hour, both times, because they certainly weren't understaffed! Overall, our dog looked healthy when we got him back, but he is definitely happy to be home and we will NEVER bring him back to "Creature Comforts Pet Resort" again! read more

Usual boarding was booked and came here. Had a weird feeling but was in a bind. Booked for 6 days and was over 1k, had so many different fees but it is what it is. Picked up my dogs and they misplaced or lost my dogs bowl. They stated my dogs were great and gave a great review about both my dogs. Then when I get home I find out one dogs nails and ears weren't done and also other dogs ears were disgusting. Called to ask why not cleaned when they were supposed to or cut nails and they stated they were sorry and for me to bring them back in. Little to late and that wanted a refund as in spa package clearly states that they get bath ears cleaned and nails trimmed. Was told I need to speak with owner, then owner never called back or was never available. Meanwhile every person I spoke with regarding was rude and had absolutely no sympathy. Last time I called they then stated my dog was aggressive and that's why they didn't do nails and ears, but yet my dog has had no bad behavior ever and she also passed a social test to be with people and other dogs? Also then I asked why other dogs weren't done and they stated it's optional to do ears and nails? So which is it? Needless to say they refused to give refund of bath and just leaves to question everything about how my dogs stay was there. I truly hope this helps other people to never go to this place! read more

I did NOT want to leave a negative review during a pandemic when local businesses are hurting. The kennel experience for our dogs was average at best, but the "customer service" is zero and the billing practices are shady. We booked boarding with a deposit on 7/15. Per instructions, we emailed paperwork same day. We received an email on 7/17 which said to call to book boarding. We were concerned, so we called and were told we were all set. We dropped off on 7/29 at 6:45p. The employees could not find our paperwork. Liz said the facility was extremely short staffed. She stated the "Angola location isn't like this when she works there, they have their sh*t together." Liz confirmed that we were picking up on 8/2 at 5:30p. Liz said if we picked up before noon on Monday, we would NOT be charged for a 5th day. We confirmed we would pick them up on Monday morning - we would take off of work to pick up around 9:00a. Liz scribbled on the paperwork and said, "I'll mark that down but I'll also put on here that you might come later in the day just in case anything comes up and you're not able to get here early in the morning." Liz looked at the kennel and noticed that two dogs were in the suite that we booked. She said again that they were short staffed and "nobody knows what they're doing." She said they would put our dogs into a small kennel until they are able to move the others. Another employee was called up to bring our dogs to the temporary kennel. This employee brought out a large dog who was being picked up. The dog broke free and ran towards our dogs. Fortunately, the dogs were not reactive and the other owner stepped in to grab his dog. The chaotic drop off did NOT inspire a lot of confidence in our first visit, however, we were relieved that we could check on the dogs via the webcam. I consider myself to be pretty tech savvy and it was a struggle to view the webcam, but it did work. We checked on the dogs and eventually they were placed in the correct kennel, and they appeared to be calm so we felt a bit better. The dogs were fine throughout the weekend when we checked the webcam. However, on Sunday, 8/1 we noticed that the blanket and all the toys had been removed from the suite. We weren't sure why as there didn't appear to be any signs of soil/destruction of the items. We picked up the dogs on Monday, 8/2 at 9:00a. Danielle said there was a billing issue and that we were charged for 10 days instead of 5. She said we would be refunded 50% to our credit card. We said we were only supposed to be charged for 4 days as we picked up before noon. Danielle confirmed and said it would be reflected on the email receipt. She told us to call the next day if anything was wrong. We reviewed our CC statement and noticed we had NOT been charged. We were confused by what Danielle had told us. We received our credit card receipt for the charge at 8:16p. We confirmed that the amount had been charged to the credit card. We were not charged for the accidental 10 days, rather we were charged for 5 days. We were sure there was a glitch as Danielle had mentioned, so we would call the next morning. We called on Tuesday, 8/3 but couldn't get through. We sent an email so that someone could respond to fix the error. We received a call back and instead of acknowledging the error, the employee said that we were charged for the 5th day because our paperwork stated a 5:30p pickup. We said the pickup time had been changed to before noon. They said it didn't matter and they use the original paperwork for billing. We talked to Liz. We said that we clearly had this discussion with her and watched her scribble on the paperwork. She denied this and said she did not remember telling us about the policy. We told her that the website also shows this policy. She said that the website doesn't matter. We told her that she did not let us update the paperwork, and simply scribbled on it herself. Potential customers beware - we could accept *some* errors or confusion with new staff, however, we cannot accept shady billing practices. read more

My dog recently did a short 4 day stay at Creature Comforts in Tonawanda. I'll start with the positive. My dog seemed happy and well cared for, which is most important to me. The staff that took care of her told me how good she was and how much they enjoyed watching her. They even told me they spent extra time with her (I paid for 3 one on one sessions of 20 minutes of an activity like a longer walk).. The place is also very clean. I choose the Luxury Suite because my dog is a 16week old puppy. It was our first boarding experience. The rate for the luxury suite is $72? (Approx) a night. Not cheap. I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, my experience with management and their customer service ruined that. There was some confusion regarding the forms (vaccines, contracts) that I emailed over. I needed to change the format of the forms and resend. To actually reserve my puppy's Suite took over a week due to my emails not being responded to. When I was finally able to reserve my puppy's Luxury Suite, I was told that scheduled drop off and pick up times were very important. The day I was set to drop off my dog, I called early and asked if I could push back my scheduled drop-off time. I was allowed to move it back 45 minutes, 2:45pm rather than 2pm. I arrived on time for the drop-off and was buzzed in by an employee when I arrived. Whoever buzzed me in (one of the two individuals I saw working the desks) was fully aware a customer had entered the building. One other customer was in the building talking to the employee at the desk, so I waited. After about 5-7 minutes of standing directly in back of the first customer(give or take) the employee finally asked me if I was waiting there to check in. I said yes. She told me I was in the wrong part of the building and pointed at another set of doors I was supposed to have known to walk through. When I finally made it to the right spot, Jackie greeted me. I told them what happened and their response was "That side of the building does not deal with the boarding". I'm not exaggerating, but as soon as they finished their sentence, the same employee that did not acknowledge me walked behind the boarding desk and sat down. Obviously, both workers deal with the boarding and I was cashed out at the original desk, FOR boarding. Jackie took my dog to her suite and after I asked if I could see Lola's suite because I was curious where she would be staying. Only then was I told Lola would be put in a Classic Run because the Luxury Suite was not ready due to another dog not getting picked up at the scheduled pick up time. Jackie showed me Lola in the Classic Run and I left. I called an hour later, all was the same and was told there was no idea as to when the other dog would be picked up. Around 5:30pm we received a call that my dog was put into the luxury suite. I picked up my dog at 11:30am and was charged for the following day. My dog stayed 4 days and I was charged for 5. Why am I the customer who's dog has to be put into the wrong suite? Wouldn't the fair thing to do would be to put the dog of the customer who did not pick up their dog at the scheduled time in a lesser Run. And who paid for the time the other dog was in the Luxury Suite? I know I did. Did the owner of the other dog also pay? If I book again, how would I be confident that my dog would be placed into the room I am booking. I discussed these issues with Amy (I think that was her name) as she tallied my bill. Her response was the business is understaffed and very busy. My immediate rebuttal to this is that if this business is that understaffed it should not be reserving or booking appointments for new dogs/clients. I was also told I should have said hi to the employee who buzzed me and let her know I was waiting to check in. I was also Creature Comforts reserved the right to move dogs from the original booked suite/run. I signed the contract. I can understand this having to be done in some sort of emergency or situation, but I don't understand why it is done for the convenience of another customer who did not pick their dog up at the scheduled time. This is all fine and once again I'm forced to be understanding of Creature Comforts shortcomings. I have a small business myself and I try to be understanding of issues my clients may have. I would never have let any of this happen at my business. Before posting a public review I emailed the owner (my only means of contacting her as I was told she would only communicate with me via email) with no response. Severely disappointed and concerned with this pet stay location. I brought my dog here for the evaluation to be accepted to play with other dogs during stays (they have an option of dogs being isolated or playtime with others staying). My dog showed me warning signs of this place before I even realized. When we arrived, there was no proper communication. This young woman with a shaved head came to my vehicle and just put a rope around my dog's neck and wanted to take her right away for the evaluation. She didn't ask me if I had any questions, didn't tell me what the exact process was, the duration, nor could I even enter the building or were cameras to watch them with my dog. I couldn't believe first of all, she couldn't use my own leash? If my dog was the type to tug, she'd choke herself out wearing that. What really concerned me was my dog kept hopping back into the car, she was trying to tell me she didn't want to go with this woman. My dog doesn't love the vet, but she goes willingly when they come to the car to get her. About ten minutes into the expected half hour, the same woman brings my dog out and says she failed. She was "aggressive" and "needs training," but there's "hope because she is a puppy." Immediately she went into saying she could still stay there without the doggy play time, and they also provide training I could purchase for her behavior and retest her in a few months..... Talk about a total scam. How am I so confident this place has some serious issues? Because my dog is well loved and behaves without worry at Camp Bow Wow. She has been a camper there for many months and never received a bad report card. So for these people to try to tell me I have a poorly behaved dog, but to pay for their training? Another red flag is they require you to hand write your credit card information on the application. Other dog cares you can pay in advance or at pick up, but to leave a credit card on file like that. Something doesn't seem right. Nope nope nope. I would never recommend this place. I am truly sorry to my dog I even wanted to have a back up stay resort for her. We have boarded our dogs here twice in the past couple years and while we had a few issues the first time, obviously we decided to try again. It was a disaster. We sent over the vet paperwork weeks ahead of time (at booking) but they never reviewed them and when my husband talked to the check in person they raised no flags. Hours after we dropped them off they called to say there was an issue. We cleared it up after a call to the vet but it was very stressful to have already left town and have a totally preventable issue pop up. During the stay we noticed on camera our one dog's slow feeder was not consistently used but we were willing to let that go. At pick up they cashed us out and we left and then I realized the amount didn't seem right. We called to clarify and they decided they found a billing error from our stay in 2021 and added it to this stay. It was nowhere on the receipt, not mentioned at booking or drop off, and honestly seemed very inaccurate and well outside standard accounting practices. At no point were we billed or made aware they just added it on - and didn't account for it in the receipt. When we spoke to their customer service manager she was so rude. To lose a customer who spends $1000 per visit over a $15 accounting error seems ridiculous but that's what happened. Between the failure to review our paperwork and ruining the beginning of our vacation and the billing error we realized they are too disorganized to be trusted and rude when questioned about such instances that we decided we're never bringing our dogs back. read more

I've always tried to board my two precious puppies here. They are wonderful to my dogs and take incredible care of them. I got stranded on Boston during the blizzard and they were able to keep them and just did an overall terrific job. They even tolerated me calling practically every day too circle on them and would go back to their run and check on them for me. I would recommend them without reservation. I'm very excited to be the first person reviewing the brand new Creature Comforts Pet Resort. My girlfriend and I were spending the weekend in Toronto and decided to give this new and exciting looking resort a try over where we would usually leave the pups. When you first walk into this place you immediately see how massive the facility is. The lobby is a good size and just from standing there you are able to see a bunch of the sweets and the adorable dogs that are staying there. All of the rooms have actual little human style beds, toys, and a television set for them to watch some dog programming in it during there stay. My pups were here from Saturday morning until Monday morning and one of the coolest things about this place is that I was able to check on them whenever I wanted thanks to the camera in the room and the app that lets you see what the pups are doing. I couldn't of been more satisfied with this place and it's great to know that they have a safe, caring place to sleep when we are away. There is a reason this place has so low ratings. I am not one to post negative reviews but the business practices of this place are so ridiculous I felt compelled. First let me start by saying I have boarded my dogs here numerous times, so they have gotten plenty of money from me. Last year during the blizzard I was forced to change my travel plans by 2 days due to the driving ban. They kept my 50 dollar deposit, even though I shifted my reservations by 2 days. I was supposed to travel this weekend but ended up at the emergency vet last night, and was told my dog has pneumonia. I cannot board my dog as this is a communicable disease. They will not refund my $50. I had planned my booking 3 weeks of boarding with them over the upcoming year but will no longer do so. If you choose to keep 50 over 2500 plus bad reviews, you need to rethink your customer service. read more

If I could zero stars I would. I have 2 golden retrievers that we boarded here due to our typical spot being full. I was told they could do daycare during their stay. They waited to evaluate the puppy who's 1 year old and has done daycare and boarding with no issues before until after drop off. Unclear why but they did not pass him. They then locked him and my 10 year old golden in the suite we paid extra for and rarely took them out. I called to question and they said they would re-evaluate him but didn't and no one called me back. Then they removed the bed from the suite, I called to ask why and they said he was biting i, likely from not getting enough exercise/play. We ended up shortening our trip and picking them up early due to neglect. The then charged me for the day we didn't stay. I paid it so I could get my dogs back but what horrible customer service. Let me start by saying that I used to be a client of Creature Comforts around 3 years ago and had really nice experiences with the staff at the time. Not so much now. I haven't had need of their services until now so I stopped in to make an appointment for a dog grooming. Joann at the desk definitely gave me an attitude from the start. She was brusque and condescending and basically acted like she was doing me a favor or even that I was wasting her time. While I was filling out my form I observed her being rude to a customer on the phone. When I walked out the door with no appointment because she wouldn't make an appointment since I didn't have my vaccination records with me, I decided that if I'm waisting her time, I won't be wasting my money with them. I took my olde English bulldogge Meatball there for 3 days while I went camping. He is a stubborn big baby of a dog. The staff and everyone was wonderful with me and him. I can't wait to take him back with Daniele for the board and train program. Facilities looked great. I've read some of the other reviews but needed to add. Taking a dog to a facility with other dogs is always a risk. Just like taking children to the park to play with other kids. They end up bonking heads or scraping their knee. Dogs can only play with teeth and nails. Sometimes they get scraped or cut. I do NOT believe that has anything to do with the staff. They were very attentive with my dog! Thanks guys! I'm a little ticked off. My vet, City Creatures Animal Hospital does not board pets; they recommended Brighton-Eggert Creature Comforts Pet Resort (BECCPR). Last week, I called about boarding my cats. The woman on the phone said that as long as I had the paperwork about my cats' shots from my vet, I could board them at BECCPR. I called to make the appointment today. This time, a man on the phone said I'd have to pay for a complete physical exam for both cats before I could board them. I told him the cats had just gotten a complete physical last month from my vet, and the man on the phone said, "We're not affiliated with them, so it doesn't count." I pointed out what the woman from his place had said last week, and he said she was wrong. The employees at Brighton-Eggert need to get their stories straight. They lost out on 2 days' worth of boarding fees for 2 cats, and prompted me to write a negative review because I was cheesed off. I will also be informing City Creatures to NOT recommend that people board their animals at BECCPR. I ended up calling Summer Street Cat Clinic. They will take my vet's physical exam results, and no new physical exam to pay for. I will have to pay for an FIV/feline leukemia test for both cats (@ $81 apiece), even though the SPCA certified them negative. I don't mind this, though; if the cats had gotten infected right before being surrendered to the SPCA, the tests at the SPCA might not have shown an infection. Otherwise, the prices for boarding appear to be comparable for both Brighton-Eggert and Summer Street. read more

We booked our stay a month before our trip. We included the daycare package and were told this would be no problem. 6 hrs after drop off. We were notified that the daycare option would not be available as they did not have any appointments to test our dogs temperament. We were stuck...At no point did the manager on duty try to make accommodations to solve this problem, nor did they accept any responsibility. We were made to feel this was our fault and she practically hung up on us. We will never go back to this place and do not recommend. read more

From an employee standpoint, you do not want to work for this company. Staff turnover is very high and I can see why. First, this company is lacking standard policies and procedures. The rules change when the wind blows. Someone loses a walkie-talkie, everyone gets docked. They dock pay for everyone due to the disorganization and fault of management to stay on top of equipment and properly manage their team. Second, there is ZERO teamwork here. If an employee has to stay late because they have a heavier section, the manager also stays but does not help the employee. Criticism is top priority instead of helping each other to keep employees happy with their jobs. This job is not easy and teamwork is a must to keep up morale and provide proper care for the animals at this establishment. If your looking for a great place to enjoy your passion for caring for animals, this is NOT the place for you. Website is smoke and mirrors. Services aren't all inclusive, there is not attention paid to detail, there is not 24 hr staffing but rather a maintenance crew that appeared to come in around 3:30 am,(Liz told me crew had keys to rooms, not reasurring as my dog is worth aklot of money and I feared he would be stolen, not hygienic as they let a cat wonder into guests rooms. I have been boarding dogs for 40 years and have never run into such poor customer service complete with continued mean and vindictive threats of extra charges and repeatedly being told each time I called out Liz B the Gen Mgr for lack of services that I would have to have someone come and pick up my dog tomorrow. What a horrible threat to a pet owner who is 6,000 miles away on day 2 of a 14 day board. We did cut our trip short by 3 days at an expense og 1200. as due to lie after lie by Liz B I lost all faith in company and feared for my dogs safety. Below is a synopsis of our experience. (not enough room for whole story) UPON CHECK-IN WE FILLED OUT THE FORMS WITH INFO BELOW: - Louie is grazer, gets fed 4 xs per day (NOTE: Liz tried to talk me into 3 x's a day feeding. Not her call) - Boarding specs state treats and toys can be brought from home - On arrival I handed the treat/ toys box over with instructions to give him interactive treat/toy whenever he is in his room to cut down his anxiety, etc. I was told, "sure." (NOTE: When I contacted CC Liz B-Gen Mgr told me she didn't give him treats because she didn't want him to get diarreah. Obviously, not her call. When I pressed her and reminded her that upon check in I was told he would get his interactive toy/treats she then said it would cost me an extra 156.per day. I was never told it would cost $156 a day or $20 per day to give him the interactive treat/toys after dinner upon check in. Per Consumer Fraud Protection Bureau this practice is known as junk fees and is illegal.) - I was told to call anytime to check or with questions (Note: on his second night he was taken out at 10 pm; at 6 am someone came into his room with leash. This person played with Louie for a few minutes then left. By 6:30 I could see Louie was getting frantic to go out: barking, circling. I called and left messages, finally at 6:45 someone answered. When I told her my dog needs to go out now she said they have very strict rules about dogs going out every 4 to 5 hrs. When I told her it was going on nine hours she got very defensive and said they had 100 dogs to look after and couldn't look in every time a dog barked. When Liz got on the hine she repeated the 100 dogs excuse..nothing a pet owner wants to hear. If you cant take care of 100 dogs don't have 100 dogs in your care. No idea BTW where these 100 dogs were. As I watched my dog suffer I told her it was animal cruelty to not let a dog out for 9 hrs. Meanwhile, my poor dog, who never in his life went to the bathroom in the house, pooped in his bed. Someone came to clean it up but only took the one blanket. I requested they change all the bedding and it wasn't until I said, "would you like to sleep in a soiled bed"? that the bedding was changed. I asked to speak to a manager. Liz Baer, Gen. Mgr. got on phone and assured me she would look into what happened at 6 am. I never heard another thing on this topic, and the staff was told not to talk to me because I called 3 times in a half hour. I called 3 times because no one was answering the phone and my dog was frantic. It was an emergency. AT THIS POINT A COMMON BUSINESS PRACTICE WOULD BE TO ASSURE ME THIS WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN . INSTEAD I WAS BERATED BY LIZ BAER, GEN.MGR, threatened over the next 6 days with having to pay $156 per day, and told me at least three times that if I didn't pay the $156 I would have to have someone pick up my dog. Liz B knew I was 6,000 miles away what a horrible threat to a pet owner. When Louioe came back to his room at lunch time the blanket he had accident on was back on his bed. He went to smell it and was repulsed and lay down on the floor. Later on he tried to get on bed was repulsed again and finally crumpled the blanket up and pulled it off bed. I didn't mention this to Liz who oddly brought the blanket up and stated that Louie was smelling it because they washed it. She is such a horrid liar.) - I knew it would be challenging for Louie as it was his first time boarding. and 2 weeks is a long time. The only tweaks I had were to be more specific with his treats/ toys thinking that someione did not understand the written directions.(NOTE: If directions were followed and they put his toys/treats in room I wouldn't have had to keep calling)(NOTE: IF LIZ B WOULD HAVE FOLLOWED MY DIRECTION TO UP HIS ANXIETY MEDS HE WOULD HAVE BEEN SOUND ASLEEP AND NOT PACING. ONCE HIS DOSAGE WAS FINALLY INCREASED THE NEXT DAY HE WAS SOUND ASLEEP AND THERE WAS NO NEED FOR AN EXTRA WALK) I kept giving Liz a chance to get our relationship on the right track, but to no avail: read more

PLEASE Never Use This Resort! Very Disappointing with the Owner Emily and the staff!!! It was my first time leaving my dog at a pet resort which I was already hesitant about, but I gave it a chance. They knew that it was my dogs first time being in a kennel and away from us. They didn't try in any way to make him feel comfortable. There was a camera in the room that we could watch. He doesn't ever have accidents, but he peed in his kennel twice and pooped in his kennel. Granted he was nervous and it was his first time being in a kennel. The second time he peed on the floor a man came in to clean it up. My dog got up when the man came in, because he got excited and thought he was going out. He had his tail wagging when the man came into the room. As the camera does not have sound so I don't know exactly what the man said to my dog, but my dog got really scared and jumped on his bed and laid down in the corner. He just laid there and didn't move. The man threw a rope like he was lassoing a horse around his neck. At this point my dog was terrified. At no point did the man try and talk to him or try to calm him down. When I asked the owner about this she said that they do this type of thing for aggressive dogs. My dog was in no way aggressive and she even said that he wasn't. Obviously her staff doesn't know how to make a dog feel comfortable. I still gave it another day, because the next day he would be there to do the day care and go out with the other dogs. I thought maybe it's just the first day and things will get better when he knows he can go out and play in the yard with the other dogs. I had him signed up for full day care everyday, which was going out to play from 9-12 and 1:30-4:30. The next morning he did go out at 9 to play with the other dogs and came back into his kennel around noon. I kept checking back and it was 3:00 and he was still in his kennel. We called to see if something had happened as to why he couldn't go out and play with the other dogs. They said he was sniffing the other dogs butts, but was in no way at all aggressive. So because he was being a dog and sniffing the other dogs butts my options were to not do day care and do a one on one with a person for 20 minutes a day instead of being out for hours at a time, but was still the same price. The owner was very unprofessional. She said every staff member was certified with handling animals, but obviously that not what we seen on the camera. When I made my complaint and tried talking to her she also hung up on me. So not only did I have to pay for my dogs entire 9 day stay, even though he was only there for 2 days, they also had some other dogs staying in his room after he left. I started taking my two dogs, Louie & Winnie, to daycare at Creature Comforts Pet Resort two years and ever since their first day we can't get enough. I feel that good customer service is hard to find in 2020 and the front desk staff couldn't be nicer when you drop or pick up your dogs. I love how there is 24 hour on site staff as well. I would never leave my dogs home alone overnight in case of house emergencies so why would I leave my dog overnight at daycare alone? I wouldn't and taking them to creature comforts I don't have to. I also love how if there is an issue with my dog whether they are at daycare or boarding I am notified right away and also when I pick them up there are notes down to the time of when this issue occurred. For example, my lab Louie got sick at daycare from something he ate at home the night before (he got into the garbage so I was expecting he might not feel good). And when I arrived to pick him up the front staff went above and beyond to reassure me that he was well taken care of and even feeling better. And he was! It was just another example of the staff going above and beyond for our family. We have tried many local daycares and honestly they do not compare to the care they receive at Creature Comforts. Their grooming appointments are always on time, they come home exhausted and happy from playing with their friends (this is especially nice in spring when running outside isn't an option with the mud). And in the summer they love playing outside in the splash park and not being stuck in the house all day. It's a small price to pay for not feeling guilty and making them be stuck in the house all day while I am at work- we love it! They get to be dogs for the day running wild and free in a save environment and I get to focus on work and not needing to leave early because I feel bad they are at home. So extremely happy that Creature Comforts exists and it's close by. I've never felt more comfortable leaving my pets somewhere overnight. As background I worked for many years in a kennel and currently work in the veterinary field. I have 3 dogs which I consider to be my children. That being said, I've never stepped foot into a cleaner, more comfortable kennel. The staff is incredible and very willing to work with you. One of my dogs can be stubborn and nervous around new people. I asked if I could stop by periodically before his stay so that he could get used to the place, they encouraged me to do so and even gave him treats when I'd stop in. Everyone is so willing to answer any questions and trust me I had plenty, and they always had the right answer. As for the kennel itself, they have an incredible amount of options for your furry ones overnight. This ranges from your typical run, to a giant bedroom basically with a full bed and dog tv. There are many options in between too. Since I have 3 dogs, I went with the biggest and best option I could for them which was that huge bedroom with a bed and dog tv and the works. The best part about the suites like these are the 24 hour camera which you can view and they leave on for you at all times. Such a great piece of mind while you're away. They also have options for things to do during their stay such as one on one time or play group with other dogs. Another great feature about this place is there is someone in the building at all hours of the day. Overall, this place has all their bases covered and seem to be prepared for anything. When I was watching the webcam I saw all 3 of my dogs tails wagging and they looked happy to be there. I highly recommend this place if you need somewhere to bring your pets overnight. Dropped of my 2 year old lab for a three day stay, picked him up limping out of this facility in pain with both pads from hind legs red raw. He required antibiotics from our vet, wraps and rest for a week after pick up. I was told that they noticed nothing while he was in their care. It was absolute negligence from this facility and I am hopeful that if you are considering this location to care for your pet, proceed with caution. When I asked for a refund and vet bills covered, I was told absolutely not. I understand when you drop your pet in a facility such as this, you always run the risk for a dog related incident. This injury to my dog was the result of negligence from the staff, and ignorance from the owner, not a dog related incident. I was in a major bind and couldn't find a Resort to watch my dogs the day I was moving. It was extremely short notice. I didn't realize that the tonawanda location even existed until I drove by the day before my move! The staff was so helpful and said my two pups would have to do an evaluation before joining daycare, but if anything they could at the very least day board them. They were a god sent and helped me in every way possible. Q-Bert has been to other daycares and was used to it and absolutely loved it! Penelope apparently didn't pass her evaluation though. She was able to day board though. I thought she would have a ball but they said she was very scared and was growling at pups! Although I was shocked, I was glad they did such an extensive evaluation for the safety of everyone. They even are willing to work with Penelope to get her more used to it. Boarded my two dogs at the Creature Comfort Resort in Tonawanda. I was notified that Kennel Cough was in the facility. They assured me it was still ok for the puppy to be in daycare. Both my dogs ended up with Kennel Cough and when I call they made mention they were keeping a list for their files of who got sick. This tells me it ran rampant thru the kennel. When I spoke to the owner she told me she felt uncomfortable speaking with me and offered no compensation for vet bills, time off or anything.
