They worked very hard on some troublesome spots and weren't satisfied until everything was completely clean and shining. I commented on her professional manner and terrific communication skills (she called in advance when she was coming over, explained everything thoroughly) and told her that it was a very welcome bonus. I will give credit where credit is due his team did a nice job on my siding and roof replacement but after spending tens of thousands of dollars and signing a contract to remodel my kitchen, put in new staircases and hardwood floors throughout my house (that's where I went wrong and the stress began) he offered to redo the roof on my small shed for $450. $450 for something that would have taken 30 mins to do. Really? His team was there, he had the extra material and all the business we contracted him to do he couldn't afford one concession? As we move into the interior remodel things get progressively worse. I could write a book about all the wrong doings but here are some excerpts of the most unbelievable occurrences: Note: you will notice that all communication with Mark was via text as he was never onsite and believe it or not he never even came to see the finished job. The texts are another story, I can't believe that a service provider would say the nastiest, obnoxious thing in writing. I have a huge file - you never know when you may need evidence 1) We agreed on a price to replace my existing flooring in 5 rooms and replace with hardwood floors. Which to me means rip up existing flooring, level and prep floor and lay new flooring. Well it didn't mean that same thing to him. He charged me more $ to remove the existing hardwood floor before lay the new floor (which I paid) and then wanted to charge me more $ to level the floor after he removed the ceramic tiles (which after an unprofessional, nasty ping pong of texts I refused to pay) 2). I wanted my pendant lights centered over my island which the carpenter sketched out on the sub flooring. Well the electrician he contracted missed the mark by 4 1/2" lengthwise and width wise. When I texted him about it he questioned my credibility and said "weren't you there when he was doing the work? ". I guess he thought I should be the acting contractor and pay him for my services. And he demonstrated annoyance about having to fix the problem now that the ceiling was already installed. He viewed this as being my fault. 3. After the hardwood floors and cabinets were installed he installed the kick heater under the kitchen sink cabinet instead of having a plumber do it (cutting corners). Well it sprung a leak that went unnoticed for 2 day; warping the floor. As a result everything had to be deinstalled, new floor ordered and installed - delaying completion a week. 4. Per our contract he was to buy the paint and paint the new kitchen. Since the adjoining room needed to be painted he offered to paint them as well. His painter suddenly become ill so instead of hiring another painter by trade he had a non-trade person paint - he didn't sparkle any hole and when I questioned it he had to text Mark before patching the holes. Mark told him to take pics of the hole because he was only responsible for the new walks he installed so if the hole were in the adjoining rooms he was not going to fix them. What?? If you offer to do a job should you do it properly - I don't think that's unreasonable. Well the guy did it anyway but it was an unnecessary argument. Also I should add the guy showed up with 1 can of ceiling paint - no drop clothes or paint brushes. I had to buy the paint and provide the tools. As per our contract Mark was supposed to install my new staircases, finish the treads and banisters and sparkle/paint the risers (which he charged me extra for). He installed the staircases, and hired someone to finish the treads but didn't sparkle and paint the riser - I had to do it myself and certainly didn't get a refund. When the guy who finished the stair treads he scratched the newly installed wrought iron balusters. When I texted Mark about it he responded with "give me a break with your scratches". In the end 7 balusters has to be replaced and he had to pay.

They installed all new aluminum drip edge and ice and water shield and felt buster synthetic paper for that extra protection that brings comfort and security. The guys showed up early in morning and worked hard all day at a steady pace to have the job completed before nightfall. The guys were very respectful and did an amazing job with the roof and the cleanup. The boss Mark was very pleasant and knowledgeable with response to our questions and concerns. NEW STEEPLE EXTERIOR MCAS did a terrific job replacing the…read moreexterior of the steeple on our church. We are so pleased with their solution and it was a pleasure working with them. We don't know of any other company in the Westchester area that has the experience needed to perform this kind of work. The steeple, which dates from the original construction of the church in the 1970s, is made of plywood. The exterior had been coated with a thick, rubberized, highly water-resistant paint. Because it was only paint protecting the plywood from the elements, it required a new paint job every 6 or 7 years. And because the steeple is so high and hard to access, any painting had required either building scaffolding or renting a bucket truck. A rather expensive bit of upkeep. MCAS helped us analyze other easier-to-maintain options--either traditional shingles or metal sheathing. We decided on metal sheathing because 1) it would have a cleaner look and be more attractive, and 2) it would last longer. Yes, the installation would cost more, but long-term it would be a simpler and more elegant solution. MCAS gave us a great price on the install--around 20k. And despite equipment hassles (the rented bucket truck kept breaking down), they got the work done in 10 days. There was only one actual installer who was an expert with aluminum sheeting. He approached the work as an artist and did a beautiful, impeccable job. On top of that, he was a super-nice guy. Our new steeple should last for 50 years or more and continues to be a bright spot in the Tarrytown community. Michael Casolaro, the owner of MCAS, has a documented history of high-quality roofing work (customized copper gutters to standard reshingling--the gamut) and we are so glad we went with him on this project. P.S. MCAS also reshingled our roof at the same time they resurfaced our steeple, and they did an excellent job with that as well. P.P.S. Please note, this job was done in spring, 2019. Our pergola on the deck tore away from the siding, taking the siding with it, trashing our deck due to snow damage. All Shawn came to "clean up" the debris two days later. There was still snow on the deck and they placed my table and eight chairs on top of each other on snow that was still to melt - the chairs cost about $1,000 each. They had no regard for our personal property. As the snow melted, the chairs shifted and some fell, causing damage. They pushed some snow off the deck and left it too close to the deck. The day after they left, the weather warmed up and the rain that was expected came. We have never had water in our basement - all of a sudden we had water coming in. As it turns out, the pile they left was now melting and had nowhere else to go, so it was coming into my basement. My son & his friend plowed & shoveled to push the snow away from the house and make a path for the snow to melt away from the house, but could niot touch the All Shawn pile - there were too many small pieces of debris, nails etc... left in the pile. It was too dangerous. All Shawn was made to come back and deal with the debris filled snow pile. They were so haphazard, careless, about it, that my husband had to go out and guide/help to get it done properly. I would not recommend this company. I did not have them come back to do the construction work to rebuild.

I do not normally take the time to write reviews and I definitely do not enjoy speaking negatively…read moreabout small businesses. However, the poor quality of work and damage to my property caused by Rich / PWS of Bergen County was so abysmal that I felt the need to share these details with other potential customers. Make your own decisions, of course, but ignore my experience at your own peril. During and after completion of the job, there were a number of issues I raised to Rich. He accepted no responsibility for damage caused to my property, ignored the defects that I noted in his work, and was dismissive when I offered him opportunities to make things right. I am including some specific examples here, along with the attached photos, which speak for themselves. 1) Damaged Wood Front Door - PWS used bleach ("SH" or "Sodium Hypoclorite") under pressure to wash my front wood door. The result was that it stripped off some of the polyurethane finishing. Rich said his crew did not wash the front door - however - I have it on video. His proposed solution was to pay him several hundred dollars more to stain parts of my front door --- no thanks, Rich. I was quoted $3,500 by an actual professional to properly fix this damage, which requires sanding and refinishing two large front doors. 2) Unlevel Pavers - Despite paying over $1,600 to relevel a small section of pavers in front of my garage to direct the flow of water away from my home into a drain, what he instead did was create a new area for water to pool, making the problem even worse than when I started - both functionally and visually. When I raised this to Rich, he blamed me for agreeing to do it that way, which I obviously did not do knowingly, and even if it were a misunderstanding, his aggressively defensive response was unprofessional. His suggestion was to pay him more to fix it.  3) Damaged Hardie Board Siding - My #1 concern before having my home washed was to ensure the siding wouldn't get damaged. I discussed this concern with Rich extensively and he assured me that his process used a mix of safe chemicals and a safe level of pressure to avoid damage. When I pointed out the permanent marks on my siding to him, he said they were shadows from nearby trees and that his crew uses horizontal pressure washing strokes, so it couldn't have been him. Of course, I observed his crew making plenty of vertical strokes with high pressure. 4) Damage to Roof - When cleaning the gutters (part of his home wash package), parts of my roofline were pressure washed without my approval. This left the visual impact of having parts of my roof discolored and also washed off some of the shingle granules. When I raised this to Rich, he told me "The guys are up there on your roof fighting for their lives with pressure washers, what do you expect?" His suggestion to correct the defect was to "rub dirt on the clean part" or pay another $700 to wash parts of my roof. 5) Incorrect Application of Polymeric Sand - I paid extra to have my pavers washed and "resanded" with polymeric sand, which when installed correctly is meant to harden. Days after the work was completed, I pointed out to Rich that there were numerous spots that were either very soft or where the polymer had washed away (leaving just plain old sand). He told me a combination of that's how it was supposed to look and that it would continue to harden, which was obviously not correct. A month later, the sand is already failing and has been washed/blown away in multiple places. 6) Plant Damage - Rich told me that they avoid damage to plants by spraying clean water on them before, during and after the chemical / bleach is applied. However, as you can see in the photos (taken over a month after the work), numerous plants and large areas of grass were permanently destroyed. If you've read this far - thank you. As I mentioned above, I don't take pleasure in causing a small  business to lose customers. However, there were simply too many issues with PWS and lost opportunities by Rich to fix them to ignore. The final straw was when I showed the work to another contractor - they were incredulous about how poor the work was. I suspect that Rich will respond to this review and again deny responsibility. Anyway - potential customers, you've been warned.
