We rented a cabin from Legacy Mountain Life Getaway for over the Christmas holiday weekend. I…read moreshould have realized the red flags at first but did not. The cabin rental prices seem good until you reserve it then all of the add on costs take the price way up. Once they had my credit card number they would just charge prior to my approval. After going back and forth with them over the price they agreed to give us a discount so we reserved a cabin for that weekend. When we arrived at the cabin, which was very nicely decorated, we found it to be very cold. We saw that the wall heat and air units were both on to run at max temp but the cabin was still very cold. We lit the fireplace hoping that would help warm the cabin. It did not help much. The cabin was so cold we went to bed that night with the two blankets we brought and all of our cloths on to try to stay warm and sleep. We did not sleep much due to being so cold. When we got up in the morning we just packed and left as there was no way the cabin was going to warm to a comfortable level. This was not how we expected to spend our anniversary weekend. I notified the Rental office about the situation and that we had to leave due to the cabin being so cold. It was too cold to even consider taking a shower. I informed the rental company that the only cleaning needed would be to change sheets and wipe down the toilet area as that cabin was too cold to do anything else. I expected to see some kind of response with some consideration for a refund of some kind since the cabin was actually uninhabitable. There has been no response since. I even then requested at least some refund toward the cleaning, the add on, charges since there was nothing to clean. With the add on for cleaning and linen charge plus having paid for three nights and only staying one. We should be entitled to some refund since the cabin was not in staying condition. Beware, Only rent from Legacy Mountain Life Getaway if you are willing to take all risks and beware of all of the add on costs.

We had the audacity to call her whenever we could not find the cabin. Immediately she was condescending, talked over us, not listening to what we were trying to tell her. It was so frustrating. We finally said her directions were crap. At that point, she became irate, cursing called us MFers, threatened to meet us at the cabin with the police to "evict us". I have never dealt with someone in customer service like this. It was insane. The next day, my credit card on file was charged $500 which was nowhere in the rental agreement. I reached out to ask her why and she said "she charged me because of my nasty attitude at check-in". I had to file a fraudulent claim with my bank against my credit card. Dealing with her ruined my vacation

Stay far far away from this company. We stayed at Dancing Creek. First, upon arrival at check in…read moretime, the house keeper was just getting started. He said he told them to let us know but we weren't informed. Location was excellent but the interior was dirty (rugs, sofa, spider webs, dust all over, floors, the loft upstairs was the worse), plumbing issues, needs a new cook top, screws in wood floor upstairs sticking up that cut feet. When trying to speak to management about problems, get nothing but rude responses. Spend your money elsewhere, I wish we did.

I received a mean email about damage we didn't cause. Bedroom smelled. Dug through dust bunnies looking for smell. Never found it but I was charged $250 plus $100 cleaning fee for it! The cabins are charming - we stayed at Cabin #4. They made every effort to make sure it was a comfortable stay. Everything went so well, thanks to them for a delightful stay in difficult circumstances.
