There is a nice front porch where you can sit and drink coffee and watch the hummingbirds come and go all morning. A back deck is available, as well. The sitting room is spacious and comfortable. Check out the original glass in the sun room! We stayed in the bridal suite and enjoyed a perfectly sized room with 1/2 bath within that space. So much is within walking distance...church, restaurants, shops. If we're in Murphy again, we will stay here.

My three boys ages 9,9 and 13 were very upset that there was no longer complimentary homemade goodies (muffins, fruit, granola bars, bread) and I had to request the code to the lobby. Otherwise, the Deerfield Inn is still a great place to stay if you want to relax and enjoy the lake view.

Enough space to breath and yet cozy for 4 or 6 people. The living room sofa is so comfortable and there are plenty of blankets to unroll and watch a movie or a game. Yes, there is WiFi that works and televisions in each bedroom and in the living room too. Absolute comfort and inviting. We all agreed this location, this condo and the fun town of Helen made this long weekend getaway some fantastic memories that we will want to repeat again. The pull-out sofa, and the outside screened in porch with hot tub made it even better. Our spot was the envy of everyone else and became the gathering place for about 15 to 20 family members. I didn't see the owner/manager while there, but there was no need. Check-in was easy. For the one time that I did contact them, they promptly replied. The only suggestion I have is that they do a little spring cleaning under and behind furniture. It was a little scary retrieving that dropped item that required looking in the sofa cracks and underneath.

I had the confirmation which they sent me and they made a mistake on their end and double booked the room, so we were displaced from having a room for Christmas. We called around and found the Castle Inn and spoke with Debbie who had a room available and saved our Christmas from being ruined. She gave us a discount for having to be stressed out by the other business which was sweet of her. She made us feel welcome and we loved our stay at her place. We loved having the balcony overlooking Main Street and seeing all the beautiful lights. We had the best stay at the castle inn and will definitely be back. Thank you for your hospitality, Debbie. The owners here are lovely and very helpful! Sleeping accommodations: we stayed in the Blue Room and loved it because it has a private entrance, a fireplace, and a private bath. We could even bear the fun German music roll up the hill through our bedroom window, but it wasn't too noisy that we couldn't fall asleep! There's also parking on the premises. Breakfast accommodations: the owners made us an elaborate breakfast each morning, full of coffee, Orange juice, yogurt, eggs, toast, homemade quiche, and the best: their homemade applesauce -- which tasted like fall! Activities: we really enjoyed walking the town. There aren't many authentic German stores, mostly souvenirs shops, but there's a great Christmas store and Cuckoo clock store worth visiting. We were recommended Bodensee restaurant for authentic German food and we were not disappointed! It was delicious. The Troll Tavern is also really nice for a spot right on Chattahoochee River. The owners also recommended some hiking trails, so we did that one of the days and really enjoyed it. Habersham Winery is just down the road and also a great little spot to taste some wines and take a glass with you as you explore a trail behind their winery that takes you to a lovely overlook spot. And of course during October and September, going to the Festhalle for beers, German music, huge pretzels, and fun is a must! Apline B&B is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway and even to enjoy all the Oktoberfest festivities.

My husband had scheduled a massage as a gift for that afternoon. This was probably the worst experience I have had. The therapist was poor in her execution, style and even manner. Before my treatment even started she mentioned an up charge for deep tissue. During my treatment she burped two times and her massage was far from relaxing her massage etiquette as a therapist was poor and as it was my birthday it sort of ruined my whole experience there, which was a shame. I did reach out to the B&B and provided my feedback, was told the spa manager (Tanya) would reach out but she never did. Heard back from the B&B manager and she told me the owner would give me a $50 dollar credit to my treatment the next time! We live almost two hours away so will not be planning on using that any time soon. To be honest after that experience I would not go back to the spa. The b&b was lovely the massage experience not so.
