If you grade on a (west coast) curve, the pizza was good. The salads were great. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating to our party of seven. This is what the owner needs to read - The bartender with the dreadlocks is hurting your business. She was rude with no provocation. The only reason we stayed and ordered food was because we were meeting two Ashland locals there. If it were up to me we would have left after the first round of drinks. Love the pizza here! Pizza by the slice is always available. Their yammers are to die for. It's a friendly little pizza shop that has great options. Chipotle ranch is a nice touch as well. Their crust is always light and fluffy. It's also a great late night spot. They're open till 1am and are the best late night spot for food in Ashland. The creek in the summer is beautiful. This is my favorite place to eat when I go to Ashland. It's very close to several hotels and just a few minutes walk from the Shakespeare Festival. The pizza here is not just the best in Ashland, but better than almost anything I can get at home. They've got several specialty pizzas - the Melanzana is one of the best (artichokes, breaded eggplant, pesto)! I have never had a pizza I didn't enjoy. And when a restaurant offers to give you ranch with your pizza, its got to be a winner in my book. It is a little hard to find from the street, but well worth searching for. It also tends to have fewer tourists than some other restaurants in town. read more

I love you eating at Creekside pizza. Tucktaway right next to the river running through Ashland. They delivered very tasty pizza in quite a variety. They also have a full bar which is great to wash your pizza down with a beer. They have a pool table and slot machines as well. It's a very entertaining place for sure. I went there a couple Saturdays ago, and the atmosphere was, hands-down, the best atmosphere of any bar I had been to in Ashland in a very, very--and again--VERY long time. The thing that made it so fun was the music they were playing, that night, which had everybody super relaxed and having a good time. The bartenders were having a good time. The wait staff was having a good time. The bouncer was having a good time. The customers inside were having a good time. The smokers on the patio were having a good time, because every time we went in to get another drink, we came out chilled out from the music all over again. There was no way I was going to go anywhere until closing, which always comes too soon when you finally find a super chill spot, and finding a super chill spot, with the right mix of cool and friendly, is super hard to do in Ashland most of the time: It's easy to find a place where annoying drunks want to talk your ear off, but our town has needed a place where you can hang out *and* feel cool--without also having to feel like you're in hipster Portlandia. Perfect mix that night. I'm going to switch my free night from Fridays back to Saturdays, just so I can hang out at a place that doesn't feel forced or boring or corporate or divey... I might miss Friday nights at Vinyl, but when the music and the vibe is this good, who needs Vinyl??? read more

I just moved to Ashland and have been searching for a great pizza place- I found it finally. I tried Northwest Pizza Company and that sucked, so this was next on my list. The menu offerings are creative- I was a little apprehensive at first, but decided to take a risk and order their Slammy pizza- whole roasted garlic, goat cheese, yams, broccoli, carmelized onions with tomato sauce. It was DELICIOUS- the flavors were all so subtle, and the crust is perfection- just like the crust back home in Chicago- crisp on outside, soft on the inside. I also ordered hot wings- they were awesome- SUPER hot. My lips were on fire- that's what i personally like in a hot wing. The only drawback is this place is pretty pricey- $18 for an 18" pie, but it was a really large pizza- more than enough for two people- we had leftovers. read more

The food is good. Our mistake was eating outside by the creek. On the patio there is a large planter filled with bamboo that splits the patio in two. The patio is sheltered on three sides by the building. Behind the bamboo curtain is where the local dreadlocked young street folks hang out and smoke cigarettes. The staff come and go and hang out with them. Because that area is blocked from view when you come down the walkway downstairs the the restaurant, you would not know that 8 people are hanging out. Even though the signs say no smoking in the entire building, tasting your meal through cigarette smoke and the sounds of the creek drowned out by loud somewhat stoned or drunk laughter makes you wish for Chipotle ambience. We ate at 6:00 p.m. on a Friday before a theater show. read more

I really like their pizza. There are a lot of different pizza options in Ashland. I think Creekside is by far the best. Sitting out on the patio next to the creek on a nice evening with a cold beer and delicious pizza really makes this an ideal destination for visiting with friends and enjoying Ashland. What started out as a comfortable night going out to a bar with friends, turned into a inconceivable and overly dramatic evening. I came to creek side, as I have done many times in the past, to shoot pool and mingle with my local friends. As a resident of Ashland, I know lots of people and instantly got caught up in the social swing. I was in your establishment for about 15 minutes, making the rounds, eventually intending on going up to the bar and ordering a drink. Before I made it however, a friend of mine who was working came up to me and apologetically told me that she was ordered by the bartender to ask me to leave. At first I thought she was kidding. I prompted her with "why?" As I had done nothing provoking or out of hand, and she proceeded to tell me that the bartender felt uncomfortable with my presence, therefore demanded that I leave. This certain pink haired bartender and I have had our own personal issues in the past, however I've always maintained a cordial, social understanding, and chosen to overlook our differences in public places. I am shocked, and horrified that she would bring such personal issues to work, and demand that I leave a restaurant I've patronized over the past 10 years. The sever (my friend) told me that Maybe if I stood out of the bartenders sight, it would be out of her mind, and then proceeded to put in a drink for me, so the bartender wouldn't be forced to see me. When she brought it over, she Again apologized and said asked that I please not think it had anything to do with her or the rest of the creek crew, it was only the bartender who wanted me to leave. I drank my drink and continued to socialize with friends by the pool table, expressing my discomfort and frustration with her blatant misuse of power. I still felt a resonant feeling of awkwardness so after about half an hour, I made my way outside to gracefully exit the uncomfortable situation. On my way out I ran into a few friends and got caught up in conversation on the patio. I finished my drink while telling another friend of the bartenders rudeness. She was as appalled as I. I walked over to the friends that I came with and said that I was ready to leave. That I felt unwelcome and didn't care to remain in a place where I was treated with such disrespect. Not a moment later did the bartender herself come out to clear glasses, and with a scathing look at me said, "the time has come." These were the first words we spoke all evening. One of my friends laughed and under his breath muttered fuck this, don't bring personal shit to work. She went inside, then the server who first told me I needed to leave, brought a different friend I was standing with his tab, and said that he also needed to leave. When he asked why, she said, "you can't be cussing out our bartenders" He was affronted as he hadn't don't anything of the sort. He told the server that he hadn't and was very confused at why he was being told to leave. The bartender came back out and aggressively told me and my friends that "it was time for me to go, and that me and all of my friends needed to get out," then walked back inside. She kicked people out just for associating with me!!! For standing next me and being in my presence! Both the bouncer, (a friend) and the server (my friend) apologized profusely to me and my guy friend who were forced to leave. The group of friends I was standing with stayed for a bit longer, but they were shocked by her obscene and unprofessional behavior. Unwilling to cause a more dramatic scene and openly question her actions in front of witnesses, I left. I have been getting pizza at creekside since I was in high school. I've been drinking at creekside since I turned 21, almost 5 years ago. I feel that this bartenders behavior and actions were completely out of line. She has served me in the past and our issues have never caused a problem. I don't know why she chose last night to pull a power trip, but I'm incredibly disappointed with her service. I work in the industry and have never experienced such discriminating disrespect. read more

The best Calzone there ever was. . and more. Extra compliments on the little things- marinara might be the best I've ever tasted; pesto and ranch grest too. Everything always comes out perfectly. Pizza slices and salads are really good as well. There's simply nothing not to love as the food goes. Portions are perfect to pricing. Food comes out at reasonable pace even when it's busy. Atmosphere is casual. There is a pool table, local art, good music selection, smokers patio, and full bar. The bar holds my main critique. I have never once ever, in the many times I've been to this place (10+year local) been served a drink at the bar in a reasonable time. If you order a drink from your server at a table it will come promptly. However every single time without fail, I wait a ridiculous amount of time for the bartender to even look at me' while seated at the bar. This is not a single person problem either. Happens with any bartender on shift. I have no idea why. I'm not talking about nights where it's packed either (and yes it does get packed on the weekend evenings). I'd be forgiving of that. Even on any old Tuesday evening I have waited ten minutes to have my drink order put in even if I'm directly in front of them. This can almost be made up for by the pouring. Boy do they pour their mixed drinks heavy here! I personally don't mind but if you're a light weight, you'd better stick to beer\wine/cider. Nonetheless the fluke with the barservice wouldn't keep me away from here or stop me from recommending this place! Also they deliver. Ps directly to the owner here, for the love of all that is good, please do something about the ladies bathroom stalls! The doors are too short for you to even look standing straight up to see if the stall is occupied. It is sooo weird to use that restroom. read more

So disappointed recently at Creekside. We have gone here many times over the last three years and mostly I would give a 3 or 4 star review. Food is usually decent; service is moderate, but never outstanding. The location along the creek is great. However, recently we had the worst experience ever. We wanted to take our seven year old out to dinner for a special occasion. As it was getting late we called to confirm pub hours. The person who answered thought it was 9pm but wasn't sure so confirmed with the manager. Then she came back with 10pm. It was 830pm so we decided we had time and went over to the restaurant. When we arrived we were passing through the patio area some guy stepped up to me and mumbled something I didn't understand. Mind you this guy looked homeless and I thought he was asking for money. I asked what he wanted and he said something about ID. I was clearly not going to give this guy my ID, as again I thought he was homeless and now I thought he was scamming trying to steal peoples ID. Also why would you ID me when I'm 40 and I am with my 7 year old. We proceeded to go into the restaurant to find out what was going on with this guy. He got really excited and almost pushy. Apparently he did work there as the bar tender came out and talked to us. They said they turn into a full bar at 830 PM and we had to be out by 945PM. They confirmed the guy who stopped us was their door guy. He kept staring at us. The whole time I thought we was homeless and on drugs. I latter called to complain and wanted to speak with the general manager about their "door guy". I was told to call back and talk to Aerial. I called multiple times and was told either she doesn't stay very late or hasn't come in yet. I was once told "it's really random when she comes in". I was never able to reach the GM. So here are the main issues as I see them. First don't have your "door guy" stand 10 feet or so from the door and stop random people from entering. That's not a door guy, but a patio guy at that point. Second, have your "door guy" look like he works there. He was very unkempt and had no identifiers as if he worked at the restaurant. There are a lot of unsavory people who hang out in that area. Finally if you want to ID people, do so in a friendly way at the front door. Not stepping up to someone and being demanding, like Creekside is some sort of exclusive club. With that, why ID someone who is clearly not 21 or even in their 20s. I haven't been carded in years. On the up side, we had the opportunity to try somewhere new and we were pleased with the service we received. As far as pizza goes, Creekside is mediocre, so it pays to branch out and try something new. read more

Horrible service. Came in today at 430, our waitresses name was Victoria. Our drinks came at the end of meal and there was no apology! She did happen to mention that her "bartender is really backed up" when there were 2 people at the bar and the table behind us already had their drinks! After a long day of snowboarding my parents, my boyfriend and I were looking for some delicious dinner. We have been to Ashland a handful of times before and tried some of the local pubs but we were looking for a change. We parked near the plaza and began walking around nothing appeared appetizing until we stumbled along creekside pizza. When we entered the atmosphere was immediately appealing and we noticed locals (which is always a good sign). The service was prompt and awesome. The food was excellent, we ordered caprese salad, sweet potato fries and two pizzas we were in heaven. The pizza was your ideal not too thick not to thin perfectly cooked pizza with fresh ingredients. The prices were adequate and the restaurant felt at home. read more

Ordered a drink, got carded then a different waitress comes and asks for everyone's ID (we weren't even trying to order drinks yet)I show it, she says I need to take it out of my wallet even though I didn't the first time. I used to love going to the Creekside, however last time I went is was an awful experience! My husband I were there with a group of friends and went to the bar to order drinks. The bartender was a piece of work! My husband ordered a moscow mule (mixed drink), the bar tender was affronted at the thought of having to actually make a mixed drink verus pouring a pitched of beer. She rolled her eyes at us sighed and to quote said "I guess i can, if you really want one.". Your a bertender for crying out loud, your only job is to make drinks, give me a break!
