We had a great meal at The Noble Fox! Parking isn't super easy nearby, so if you are already parked in a lot or structure, stay there and walk. It's just off Main Street. We went in at dinner time on a Thursday. We were seated right away without a reservation, but you can make one online. I could see them being busy on a weekend or a busier part of the season. There are tables for groups from 2-6. They also had some pinball and other games in the back (as well as some board games in a side room). We didn't find out the ins and outs of the games, but it makes it feel like a place you are welcome to stay at for a while. They had a great kids menu. Our girls both wanted pizza and the observant server recommended they share a pizza because they are not small. It was accurate and kept us from having a whole leftover pizza, even though the prices were reasonable and it would have been a good value. The two adults shared the spicy cauliflower from the appetizer menu and the quesacarnitas tacos. Both were seasoned well, very flavorful, and all around delicious. The cauliflower wasn't super spicy, but it was super tasty so we weren't mad. The place is a brewery but we had cocktails. My husband said it was the best margarita he had on our trip and tasted like it was made with quality ingredients. My Paloma was also good! Overall, we were super pleased with our visit. Gluten free items are marked clearly and there is also a gluten free bun and pizza crust to choose from. So I have to open this up with a reason to why I had to come here on my wife's and I road trip. She reads a lot and she sometimes gets the audio books and says "YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO THIS" So the legends of thezmarr by helen scheuerer is a fun story I got hooked on and my wife loved that we can talk about it so it makes it that much more fun. There is a tavern called "the laughing fox" so I told My wife we need to go here or Kip would be anger (Kip being the character that loves going to that tavern) she did not get it at first but when I did the hint hint wink wink she understood me. He was great for suggestions and overall hosting is such an important characteristic so we appreciate you . The food... I'll be honest we planned on just having. A drink and some fries... but the menu was just too intriguing especially to a couple that loves to cook. Soooo my wife got the harvest salad and I got the fish and chips. The fries were amazing... they were seasoned and cooked to perfection. We could not stop eating them. The harvest salad my wife enjoyed, we enjoy good salads and the berry and chopped seemed like something we have had before so the Harv had some unique takes with the dressing and fresh toppings. She enjoyed it but said it would be more amazing paired with salmon. Which is unfortunate because she was just recently deemed allergic to it. The fish and chips... just get it.. don't question it just get it... most fish and chips just focus on the lemon, salt or tartar to give the fish flavor... nope... the noble Fox understands the fish and batter need to be pre seasoned then seasoned after . Son #1, with his family, picked this restaurant, and his BFF from college, with his family also have lunch with us. There were 9 of us. I ordered the Ashland Chicken BLTA, many ordered the burger, I"m not sure. I enjoyed all mine, son had the Crispy Taco, I tasted part of his, and hubby tasted part of mine, or I tasted part of his. The children enjoyed their hamburger. And ordered some fruit, extra for the children. Sandwiches and hamburgers served with fries, or Tots, Parmesan Herb Fries +2 or Hot Honey Tots +2. Maybe call it, "Shade of Lithia Park" or "Dark Mulch of Lithia Park"? Toasty and sweet. Surprisingly drinkable on a hot day. A littler watery (I lack a better description) but full of flavor. A solid stout. TRIVIA: What "quintessential" item is available for purchase? FOOD: I didn't expect there to be anything Peruvian in a tap house, but there it was, on the menu. The description included "fries" and not as a side. So I had to try it. And it was really good. It struck me as the "catch all" kind of meal. So we made the mistake of not making a reservation but they had a few tables in the bar. The service was friendly and accommodating. I was amazed at my fish & chips! I'm a fish & chips lover and have eaten them from London to Sydney. This was a huge piece of haddock, covered in crispy house made beer batter. The shoestring "chips" were perfect: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and seasoned to perfection. Now to what my husband ordered. He tried the Buddha Bowl. Again, it was a huge serving of veggies, chicken & chick peas over rice. The problem was it lacked flavor and was dry. First he asked for salt, hoping that would fix it but then realized it was still lacking in flavor and dry. So he asked for more sauce, which they brought him without complaint. The burgers a couple tables down looked...you guessed it...big! My husband should've just gotten a burger, although $20 seems like a lot for a burger at a brewery. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and on top of things the bartender/waiter was. All day happy hour was great. The pepperoni pizza with hot honey was excellent. This place was a nice surprise find. Came here while visiting Ashland, looking for a low key place for a snack and a drink - this place delivered. I can't speak to too much, but we came in and quickly found a spot at the bar to sit; the bartender and server were very friendly and gave great recommendations. I had the hazy ipa which was great, and we ordered the cheese curds and the bulgogi beef nachos - both were plentiful portions and delicious! I didn't have a chance to see the entire establishment outside of the front-bar area, but the restaurant location was central downtown and the bar area felt welcoming and relaxed. Gayle and I returned to the Noble Fox for dinner last week. Since our last visit, the restaurant has taken over the block space wise. However, our dinner was enjoyed in a familiar outdoor patio table and out of the direct sun. We also had a great waitress. This time around, we both ordered Tikka Masala bowls, mine with Chicken and Gayle's with Paneer. This was an interesting and delicious menu choice from a Brew Pub, and I understand that their Tikka Masala pizza is even better. It's good. 4 stars might be a little bit generous, but it's definitely better than 3 stars. The beer was decent - not particularly complex flavors or innovative in anyway but well crafted and drinkable. I'd say the wings we got as an appetizer were the most underwhelming dish of the night. We got the Harissa flavor and they weren't nearly as spicy as expected. Also not super crispy. Appetizer fries were good sized. I very much enjoyed my salmon burger - the salmon was not over cooked, and the pickled onions and arugula paired really nicely with it. I thought the ciabatta was a good bread choice. My mom's fish and chips were enjoyed - it was a giant piece of fish and not over battered. The Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese was very rich - on the BBQy side of the world. The steak strips were juicy. All the mains were really quite large. I think my husband took home a whole half of the steak strips. My 6 year old daughter enjoyed her chicken tenders. My 3 year old insisted that all she wanted was bacon for dinner and they gave me two pieces of bacon for $3 which feels like a pretty good deal to me. We had brunch with a group of friends and should have been worried when we arrived at 10:30 am and the restaurant was empty. We ventured forth optimistic because of friendly welcome from our server and the Bloody Mary open bar. But we were very disappointed in all of the food. Burnt bacon- dry old grilled potatoes soggy French toast with some undefined floury sauce and avocado toast on a slice of thin burnt bread that didn't cut easily with a knife. New restaurant alert!! We were so excited to visit the Noble Fox on their second official day! The TL;DR is OUTSTANDING food, great drinks and super friendly service. Some kinks in timing but understandable because they were slammed and it was only day 2. Food: my compliments to the chefs, seriously! This food was so flavorful and complex. You aren't just getting plain Mac and cheese or a burger. It's filled with spices and additions. They also have filled a niche in the local food ecosystem with unique food to the area. The Street Corn was amazing! Masa crumbs with cotija cheese, paprika, and a delicious lime cilantro crème. Paprika is certainly the theme with many of these dishes as it's themed in the Foxy Mac as well. Portions are generous and prices averaging between $18 and $23. Two of the entrees are 36 and 42, the salmon and steak respectively. Drinks are great. Large selection and variety. Many of the classic drinks have a nice "twist" on them such as the "foxy drop" which is an orange styled lemon drop. Most of the cocktails between a reasonable $11-13 Service: Very friendly and understanding! We did have a very long wait between ordering and food coming out but it's important to note that it was only their SECOND day open and they were slammed. There was a constant 45 minute wait and every table packed inside so completely understandable. I look forward to returning after they've gotten a better footing and I'm sure they will excel as all their staff seems very focused. Ambiance: Dealers choice! This energy allows for a little nicer wear or completely casual. The tables have candles on them but at the same time there are a few (free!) arcade games for the kids to enjoy while the parents sit and enjoy one of the many delicious beers. Our server was really great - we weren't over the top with questions or with menu help, but encouraged our choices and our food came out perfect. I loved my aperol spritz at the top of the meal. It was a perfect sweet/bitter balance with a great citrus notes. Though this place is known for the burgers, I wanted some lighter fare with a mediterranean bowl with chicken. It was SO delicious. The fresh dill was a great touch, the chicken was delicious and the yogurt sauce and feta were excellent. A delicious and filling meal that was very satisfying.
