A review of Creep x Ghosts 2024 I had always heard about this company over the years, but never had a chance to check it out until this year. I had considered going to another haunt, but the prices were out of my range. Creep was a comfortable $70 per person and I was lucky to grab some tickets as they were selling out. I really didn't know what to expect, but the least I can say is that I was completely blown away. The absolutely expert crafting of this experience, everything from the story to the acting to the timing to the setting, was incredible. First I was curious, then unsettled, then worried, then SCARED, and then nearly welling up with tears. These actors are so committed and every character feels so full. The way they looked into my eyes had me deeply moved and I was immersed for the entire hour we were inside. Every person in my group was interacted with and enveloped in the story. This sort of art needs to be deeply appreciated and supported in Los Angeles and I'm so grateful to all the people that put their hearts and souls into this. Thank you JFI Productions! read more

Creep is back and better than ever! They've returned with a more linear format, taking place in a mansion in the West Adams district (fans of Delusion may recognize this space from a previous year). There were two sections, the welcoming B&B in partnership with CBS and the show 'Ghosts' which smelled like pumpkin spice and everything nice, with the occasional possession and haunting. Then you're taken across the street for the real show and that's where Creep shines. The poetic storylines, the terrific acting and staging, the interaction, and new ideas all reminded me of the early days of Delusion which is a huge compliment. Your group of 8 is small and intimate and you feel absolutely immersed. Be prepared to be touched, whether you are taking an actor's hand or they are gently leading you somewhere, but nothing over the top. I'm so glad it's back and as good a Creep LA as ever was! Creep "Ghosts" was a lot of fun. As a huge fan of the Creep events, I found this one to have a nice thread woven throughout the many rooms of the house. A few jump scares spaced throughout the event and I felt it left me with something to think about. The actors are amazing especially the one that portrays the woman dying in bed - I recognized her from the Willows dinner party. Creep is worth every penny! read more

Unique. Immersive. Creepy. Fun. Whatever you do. Don't fall asleep. This was our first time at Creep LA. My boyfriend and I love Halloween and all things scary/kooky/creepy. Creep definitely showed us a good time. It's an immersive theater experience, not your traditional haunted house or maze. This years theme is Awake. Imagine being part of a dream/nightmare you can't wake up from. That's what this experience is like. I don't want to give any details away. Go in open minded and just go with the experience. There are a few jump scares, but this is more than cheap and easy scares. This is a complete and total mind trip. We can't wait for next year. read more

THE BEST "Haunted Experience" I've ever had. I don't want to say "haunted house" because it was so much more than that. This was an experience. I felt like I was first hand living a horror movie. It was creepy, unsettling, and made me uneasy in some parts..... but, the whole time I was thinking "WOW". **** Spoilers ahead**** My boyfriend and I were the last people to be turned around from the cement wall. We were told to say nothing, do nothing, look only at the wall, and do what we were told. When we turned around.... we saw our whole group sitting in chairs, still and doll like with sheer burlap over their heads. They sat us down and put us in the same position. What we experienced after was amazing -- AND THIS WAS JUST THE BEGINNING. My only tip to anyone going: wear comfy shoes and comfy clothes, and go and do what they tell you to do. You will regret it after if you don't. I was pulled onto my knees and came face to face with the girl in the room. Her acting skills and makeup was on point. I was terrified, and she was only just looking at me.... and the stuff she was whispering in my ear... I was told to climb into a dark closet and then let out only to be told to run and play hide n seek... and the loser will get killed... hiding behind a wall and hoping this man didn't find me was a fear unlike anything. Solid Haunted House/Immersive Theatre Experience This was my first time going to Creep Los Angeles, and I was pleasantly surprised with the entire experience. You can really tell that this year's run was sponsored by Amazon because besides for the "Lore" logos and signs scattered throughout the experience, the production value and sets were pretty top notch -- at least compared to other independent experiences put on by smaller theater companies. I went on the Sunday night on Halloween weekend and the lines and wait times were minimal. Parking is super easy, especially on a Sunday night in DTLA so there was plenty of free street parking as well as parking in the spacious outdoor lot. After waiting in line outside for about 15 minutes, our group was escorted inside and brought to a cool little bar/holding area. There you could buy some alcoholic beverages, use their photobooth, and just bask in the creepy ambiance that the show creates. Was in the holding area/bar for about another 15 minutes before they finally took our group to start the show/experience. They keep you in a group of about 8 people and from there you travel throughout several rooms, hallways, and settings to "experience" the show. I obviously won't give anything away, but I felt the show and its actors should all be commended for giving great performances as well as creating an interesting narrative. This is an immersive show so there will be times when the performers touch you (which is very very light), ask you questions, and participate in different activities. Like all experiences of this nature, your overall enjoyment heavily depends on the people in your group. I came here with 1 friend and the other 6 people in our group were all friends with each other. Their group was incredibly BASIC and, to be blunt, pretty stupid and obnoxious (see definition of BASIC BITCH). Because of this, the mood and vibe of the show was annoyingly spoiled from time to time because of the incessant giggling and talking of the other people. This isn't Creep's fault at ALL and I don't blame them for this. If you give Creep LA a try, which I highly recommend, just make sure you go with a large group of people you can trust to not ruin the experience for you. In general, you should also try and be mindful of other people's experience of this show, and keep the talking and side chatter to a minimum. 3 years ago, this place was clearly scary. Now, it's clearly a cash grab. The experience was extremely disappointing for the price. I was excited to go and get creeped out (get it?), but it was pretty much just two stages and two photo booths with black curtains all around. Additionally, the 4-5 actors we saw were not scary; rather, they were kind of eccentric. At most, it would've been an appropriate $20 experience, but paying $70 to walk in circles around a warehouse for 75 mins was just outrageous. I have been coming to Creep LA since 2015. I have loved every single one. It just kept getting better and better...then today happened. Our group walked out just bewildered and wondering what we had just experienced. We overheard others wondering the same thing. We always look forward to October to get scared...Haus of Creep was not scary or creepy at all. We were so disappointed that we felt we had just thrown away money to the trash. There was 5 of us in our group and could have used our money to do something else. It was so bad that we all wanted a refund. I am not sure what this experience will hold for 2020. We are all considering not coming back which is sad because it's an experience we look forward to every year. The acting was great, it was just everything else that sucked! If you want to spend your evening looking at art and wondering what the heck is going on, and not being scared then go ahead and waste your money. Sorry Creep LA. Definitely bizarre, not so creepy and not scary at all. End of the day, it was just weird. First time doing interactive theater and the idea was really cool but the story was just, how shall I say, stupid. It really didn't make a lot of sense, was all over the place and the pay off at the end was more comical than it was intended to be. I give them credit for putting it all out there, the actors were really going for it but they just didn't have much of a story to work with. Would do something similar like this again for sure but I would never go back into the haus of creep again. read more

I didn't know what to expect and thought it was decent. Actors were great. SPOILER ALERT! Don't read further if you don't want to be spoiled. SUGGESTION FOR THE SHOW: have the audience be the art. Have the actors guide/command/direct them. 1) Put people in the jail. 2) Put someone in the body bag and then have other audience members carry them around. 3) Put someone in costume and then put them in the frame (next to the easel) and then have some other audience member draw them. 4) Put someone on the stand w/ the "make me happy" bucket and then have them do some sort of mime whenever someone else puts money in the bucket. 5) Put someone on the stage and have them pole dance. etc, etc. Maybe this was already happening and I missed it. If so, I would recommend to do it a lot, lot more. read more

This was just.....really.....really...really....weird. 1. They separate you from your friends/partner. If you are a scaredy cat, you may want to skip this one. You will be with strangers for the majority of the show. 2. The storyline is boring and disjointed. Pacing was quite slow. Scenes dragged. Anti-climatic, especially the end. WTH? 3. Diversity anyone? This was severely lacking within the cast of the show. Living in Los Angeles with so much multi-cultural talent around. That was not represented in this show. 4. One ticket cost close to $90. This show is worth more like $25. Calm down Creep LA, you are not 'Delusion: Haunted play' status. At least not yet. 5. Lots of crawling. And running. In or around very low budget set pieces. Not a lot of money has been put into the actual show. (Yet it costs as much as Disneyland to get in) The good: The cast were very talented and committed to the piece. Bravo. If you are a fan of Performance Art, you will love this show. If you are seeking a Halloween/Spooky theatrical event, this is definitely not it. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere. ***spoilers ahead*** I've always wanted to do this, but really didn't have the opportunity. I got a complimentary entrance by Yelp, so yay! Let the experience begin. I've never done Immersive Theater before so I didn't know what to expect. Upon entrance, while you line up outside, they had a cover of RadioHead's Creep by Scala& Kolancy. Great mood setter. They go by groups. Got there early, so instead of going with the Yelp group, I went with a group that consisted of podcasters and bloggers who were horror enthusiasts. They took good care of me. Poor lonely me. As you go in groups, you get to lounge around, take pics, and interact with the characters there before its your group's turn to go. To my own creep, you can always have a dance with me and have my shoulder to cry on. And no I won't tell ;) Never had I held hands with strangers as we faced a wall...to be later lead by characters, two at a time, to sit on a chair. And have them place sheer burlap over your head. Nor did I have the experience of being led to a bed and told to play dead alongside another person from the group while the rest of the group stood over you and prayed. Felt like I was in a scary movie with the mental twist. The actors were great and weren't too cheesy. Not like those at the other theme parks horror nights. I don't want to write too much. Going into this experience, I pictured walking into a horror movie. Maybe something like Saw. Some "wanna play a little game?" action. BUT this place turned out to be more like an Indie Kristen Stewart movie... equally horrifying, but in a different way. It's definitely some hipster performance art. Depending on whether you like hipster performance art, that's either the best or the worst news. PROS: -As it's name suggests, it's definitely "creepy" -Sets and costumes are spectacular -The lounge area where you wait with drinks before your show is erotically entertaining CONS: -Storyline seemed really disjointed, especially as individuals were pulled away for solo experiences & missed certain aspects -Didn't have the scare factor I hoped for in a Halloween-themed performance Bottom line: I wouldn't go again, but it's definitely a unique experience if you're sick of the "jump & scare" type of Halloween haunts. read more

From the moment I parked, I felt the 'Creeps"! The check-in was easy; look for a guy or gal with the clipboard. As you wait, you get to listen to eerie version of Creep by Radiohead. ******************************************************************************************************************* SPOILERS ALERT ******************************************************************************************************************* As you line up with your group, you will be eventually escorted into Creep. At first, I thought the games have begun, but nooooo......you'll get greeted in the most disturbed way and sign your waiver. As you walk in the dark corridor, you'll end up at a lounge area. At first, I didn't know who was who because everyone seemed like they were part of the show. Pretty soon, I realize this is the waiting area for all the guests and it's the time to interact with the actors and actress to get a background of the story. You'll get to take your photo at the photobooth for free and most likely get 'molested' in the lounge as well. The lounge area also serves alcohol as you wait...the perfect time for a shot if you're nervous. Overall, I liked the lounge area more than the actual walk through of Creep. It wasn't more of a story line of the main character that went into the darkness, but more so of how it affected others. It showed the raw craziness of how people can get when they are in their own hell. Overall, a fun night with friends to do something different. I know I've waffled back and forth in terms of reviews for this particular Halloween show. Here's an update. I attended the 2021 Creep LA show and it was phenomenal. Clearly, the producers took direct feedback from the 2019 show and knocked it out of the park this time around. The show was both scary and creative, with the approach much more streamlined and narrative-driven than the 2019 show. Guests were transported into a small town which eventually led to a large house full of endlessly morphing hallways and situations involving an eclectic group of extremely talented actors. The production design was on point, as the sound. Bravo, JFI, you've won me over yet again. read more

Pretty steep price at $92 for what this was. A very low budget low production value with lack of any costume design and makeup on all the performers, making me wonder if this is just the local college theatre trying to put on an "artsy" dance show of what they think "art" is. Save your money and go do Delusion instead (Blue Blade just got extended through June 2019!) For another $13 dollars of a ticket price you get IT ALL with Delusion. Don't think I'll be coming back next year unless you guys drop your ticket price by at least half, sorry, CreepLA. read more

We attended the preview weekend of the Awake (2018) version of Creep LA. This show is definitely better than the disjointed Lore (2017) version the year before, but Awake could be oh so much better! The small groups, dedicated actors and venue all make for a fun and interesting night out. However, if you're looking for a good scare or an over-the-top experience (which for $89 it really should be), invest your money in a different Halloween event. Why only 3-stars? Mainly because it's not "creepy" enough. Yes, the characters act disturbed, the venue is dimly lit, and fog machines create some eerie lighting effects. And, there are certain moments that are indeed unsettling (note that not all guests experience all vignettes), but it is inconsistent. For example, in one particular scene - where everyone in the 25-person group you'll be part of is brought back together - a woman stands on a soap box and delivers a longish monologue about her nightmare. While she does, the supporting characters fan out through the audience and whisper things about staying awake into their ears. Then, suddenly, all of the characters move to the front, assemble into a formation and dance to an EDM song blasted over the sound system. Silly, not creepy. So, in sum... The Good The Venue - Row DTLA - the location of this year's Creep LA has a cool vibe (gentrified warehouse district) and there's a bar in close proximity that you can hang out in before and after the show with happy hour pricing (just show your ticket to wait staff). The 60,000 sq/ft. venue is spacious and is a great fit for this interactive experience. The Acting - it's fun. The characters slither and run around you, appear and disappear, wear a variety of costumes, and stroke your head and hold your hand as you're guided around the variety of sets in the building. The actors do a great job and you do indeed get to lay down, crawl, walk and run during the performance (so dress accordingly). Small Audience / Interactivity - the exact opposite of crowds at HHN Universal Studios. Small, intimate group that splinters and rejoins throughout the show. If you're lucky you may even be led off from your group to have an individual experience with the characters. The "Meh" The Scare Effect - occasionally eerie but rarely truly creepy or scary. If you get the house vignette with young girl being stalked by a demon-eyed character with a hat who lives on her screams, then this is as good as it gets. Adding in some additional scares would be a bonus as they are few and far in between The Props - they're good, but not great. Walking past one curtain, I could see all the sound equipment blinking. Some of the scenes are done with a sound system, others are not. The "bonfires" have light bulbs in full view detracting from the realism. Crawling through short, padded tunnels was fun, but no-one tries to spook you even though you hope they would. The Theme - moving through the characters' nightmare could be much more disturbing and creepy. Dance scenes, overly extended monologues and writhing characters on beds just don't cut it for the price paid. The "nightmare" theme could have been much more effective - a la the movie Flatliners. Overall, Awake gets good marks for its production value, but is tempered by a less-than-creepy execution. You won't feel scared, creeped out or fearful if you've done any sort of haunted attraction before. I personally wish I could have experienced the 2016 Creep LA version that everyone raved about. But I am glad that I paid the preview price and not the full price for our tickets. It was entertaining and we had a good time, but I'd be hard pressed to recommend someone to pay the admission price of a professional theater production for an experience that won't earn a place in my long-term memory. read more

Surprising Experience...wouldn't recommend for everyone, but AWESOME! I got here looking for a haunted house close from DTLA and then it caught my eye because it is at Art District. So I got there trying to understand what it was about...my girlfriend loves new things but she still is very "thing" with her personal space and when we arrived I could tell it was going to be intrusive. However, I'm bored of the typical stuff so it worth the try. The 1st 20min we were very confused and the next 20 very skeptical...but then we had a blast. I've heard about a lot of these 'fright experiences' recently since it is fall after all, but Creep was off my radar until I was lucky to experience this with yelp... Now I am a horror fan, but I'm one of those annoying ones who tend to jump at anything if I'm in the right setting. Creep did do this to me a couple of times, but surprisingly, I was able to hold my own thorugh most of this. A guy in a white mask who didn't speak checked off our names on the list. Then we had to line up outside while 'Creep' played over the speakers on a continuous loop and apprpriately, this was the haunting version by Scala & Kolacny Brothers. After a briefing by two women who greeted us, we were offered to use the restroom prior. In addition to having men and women using the same one at the same time (2 stalls, 1 or 2 unrinals, unsure since I didn't use those), there was a girl sitting on the floor bawling. Wasn't sure what to do with that so we kind of just ignored her. After that, we were led to a lounge area where you could take photos, have drinks, and make conversation with the many 'hosts' that were roaming around. From those of you who have attended this, you'll know they sure know how to hold your attention. In about 10 minutes, our groups were called and we were taken to another place outside the building. From here, the next 30 some minutes or so were interesting. Some parts were clearly more intense than others, but overall, I'd give this a 7/10. I won't go into everything that went on, but I do want to stress I had no issues with anything being too physical, etc. I felt comfortable throughout my whole experience. For lack of better words, I would say going through Creep was a different variation of a mind-f***. And definitely worth the try, if you're into that kind of thing. read more

They're consistent with quality while keeping it new and fresh every October. Plus they truly appreciate the people who continuously support them, and for that I will be there each and every show. Been going to Creep for the past 4 years now. Extremely disappointed with this year's production and interaction. The set didn't flow and the storyline felt really flat. This year it seemed like there wasn't enough actors so the guests had to interact with the "characters." What majorly pissed me off is one of the characters actually cutting my hair off. The character had a pair of scissors, which looked like a prop. When asked to cut my hair, I agreed because I thought it would be a gag and not a real pair of shears. no, it was real. This completely crosses the line of being immersive and interactive. It violated my trust and willingness to participate any further. If future performances are going to include cutting people's hair as such, then your company needs to update your disclaimer. Also stop padding every bad review with a 5 star review from your actors. Zero stars! The actors are great, but the idea this year left a TON to be desired ! IT WAS ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE! I'M SO DISAPPOINTED!! I've been for the past 2 years and my experience has always been AWESOME! This year they tried too hard to make it "different". The experience is not Halloween related or creepy/suspenseful at all...the show could be year round. In the beginning, I totally attempted to make the best out of this experience by interacting with the actors. I was very bored. Did Haus of Creep. Billed as a creepy, spine tingling and scary. It was none of these. The show was chaotic and frustrating. Nothing scary or Halloween-like about it. Unfortunately, it's nothing that we can refer friends too. If you are looking for creepy, scary, interactive plays; Delusion is probably your best bet. We have been going to Creep since it's inception. I applaud Creep for always reinventing themselves and developing unique themes. However, with that said, we did find this year's Creep really disappointing. The fluid structure just didn't quite work and there wasn't nearly enough to see or experience; it needed at least three-four more "stages." Realize my post is a little vague but out of respect to Creep, I don't want to give away too many details. Good try Creep. We'll come back next year, but sure hope you up your game a bit more. read more

I think I'm addicted. With "Haus of Creep", Just Fix It productions has built a sexy, spooky world that I want to spend hours exploring. I keep coming back, and every time there's something new to discover. There are over TWENTY actors playing real, developed, feeling characters, not just ghosts and monsters that pop out at you like at a more traditional haunt. The cast gives it their all to create unique, personalized, unforgettable experiences for every audience member. And did I mention there's a bar? read more

I really enjoy immersive theater experiences like Sleep No More and Creep circa 2018. Haus of Creep was a complete let down. While the actors were extremely professional and passionate-- they were essentially tasked with putting lipstick on a pig. Considering this year was meant to 'engage' guests I felt it did just the opposite. The amount of people in the experience prohibited meaningful engagement with actors. When you were able to get time with an actor to try to connect fragments of the storyline they would dodge the question entirely. Clearly there was no cohesive storyline or clever interwoven plot lines. The overall narrative seemed heavy handed and lacking nuance. Overall it wasn't scary or interesting. read more

I have loved every year of CREEP LA, and feel like it just keeps getting better. I am a bit disappointed to see folks not enjoy HAUS OF CREEP this year, but I can understand how the open-world, sandbox style is not for everyone. I, however, found the show to be wonderful. I loved exploring the art and getting to know the characters. I loved being able to follow certain ones to see how their story played out. I love feeling like I had a part to play in the narrative. I loved seeing the story from both sides of the "conflict." I loved stumbling into tableaus and feeling as if I wasn't supposed to be seeing them. I loved how incredible the actors are in this show. If I can give you a bit of advice, it's to make sure you interact and talk to everyone. Learn their stories. Ask them questions. It's very different from their usual fare of being on a "track" and I love the direction they went with for this one. I've now seen it TWICE, and look forward to a third time to uncover more. read more

I always look forward to Creep LA. This is the third production/interactive play I have attended. Unfortunately, this time I was deeply disappointed. The theme was a free-roaming art experience. I felt that it was very disorganized and confusing. I got the overarching storyline of the actors being portrayed as the art pieces to the art experience but did not understand or found entertaining the inner themes/story of each "art" piece. Pro: actors are very good. You can feel the passion and see them immersed in their roles. Con: The play theme, organization, structure of events, and too many people were let in. read more

I, being a lifestyle Halloweenie, was not ready to give up Spooky Szn, so I bought some tickets to go to Creep LA. I've heard a lot of good reviews (from Haunt sites) about their interactive haunts from years prior and was actually quite interested in the free-roam experience they were offering this year. After I bought tickets, however, I scanned through Yelp and was disheartened by all the reviews left on here. "Confusing", "weird", and "not scary" were terms that stuck out. Shoot. That's over $100 down the drain. When we got to Haus of Creep, I immediately felt like I stuck out like a sore thumb. Of all the guests attending, I'm the only one wearing shorts and the only one wearing some sort of Haunt memorabilia. Everyone looks like they're going out on a hot date, while I look like I'm heading to a horror convention. I looked at my boyfriend and my brother and they both said, "I don't think this is what we think it's going to be." DOUBLE DISCOURAGEMENT. Did I really waste money? I told both of them to shut up and to just be OPEN. In reality, I was crossing my fingers that this wasn't going to suck. The experience actually somewhat began while you're waiting in line. The actors started mingling with us as we were waiting, then they would take us to the steps to enter the "museum." It wasn't till we were introduced to one of the actors -- I want to say his name is Cash -- that I was given a little bit of a ease. He looked at my hoodie (which said CarnEVIL) and asked me what it was all about. I told him that I worked at Knott's Scary Farm, and in character he asking if I was dead yet. I told him, "HELL YES." And he replied that he's been dead for four weeks already. I don't know why, but it struck me as a "from one horror freak to another" kind of sentiment. Haus of Creep is truly not your typical haunt. It's definitely like you're in a museum and you're free to choose where you go. In the back of your mind, however, you should know that there is a central storyline and there are different paths stemming from that. So, at certain points, you'll look at certain "exhibits," only to be interrupted by something occurring in the main storyline, and when you return, the "exhibit" has suddenly changed. Or, at times, an actor or actress may be somewhere in one part of the museum, and you'll have to go searching for them later on. It's like an RPG with side quests. Ultimately, you make your experience. I think perhaps that's where the experience sours out for some people. YOU, the guest, you HAVE to participate. You HAVE TO, HAVE TO, HAVE TO. You have to talk to the other "guests," the "artist," the "workers," the "performers." You must subject yourself to interactions, even if some of it's super offputting. It's the only way to get the most out of Haus of Creep. Otherwise, you're at the mercy of other people's experiences. They might not be asking the right questions. Or maybe they're going to an exhibit you don't want to see. YOU had to make YOUR own experience and figure out the storyline your way. The actors are amazing and incredibly smart in ushering the story to unfold around you. We were so blown away by how well and how hilarious they improv'd. Of course, since this is performance art, the actors are the main draw -- and honestly, they really hit a home run for us. Haus of Creep was a great time, and I feel really sorry for anyone who didn't open up to it. My boyfriend and little brother thought it was going to be a waste of money but ended up really enjoying it. We even want to take improv classes now. Can't wait till next year! read more

Wow, I don't know where to start. I have done Creep LA the last four years (and The Willows) and loved every second of those experiences. I can honestly say this was a huge letdown. It seems like a 1/3 of the Creep experience at the same price. I'll keep this somewhat spoiler free. My group talked with another trio and a couple in line before the event started. Everyone was excited because each of our groups had some someone in their party who were Creep veterans and we thought we were in for an fantastic evening. Going inside, those attending will be randomly selected to go in, we went in fairly early. To those who get selected to go in as the last groups, I was told it's like being the chubby or unpopular kids who get picked last to be on the kickball team in grade school and somewhat off putting. Definitely not a enthusiasm builder. But trust me, going in earlier didn't make a difference. Inside you mingle and mix around, see some sights but nothing incredible. When you are finally able to experience the art, there isn't much to do. Certainly not enough actors or rooms (maybe installations is a better word) for 40+ people to explore. This seemed like less than half the size of previous Creep LA events. Won't mention the art, the scenes and what some get lucky enough to experience. Sadly many don't experience anything. Let it be known that you can try and interact with the actors and "art". Sometimes that enables you to do more....it did for me. Though the others I spoke with, who were certainly as game as I was, couldn't really get anything going. I'd say I was busy and involved in something 70% of the time in Haus if Creep. Maybe because I do a lot of these events and perhaps I have a playful personality or maybe the actors recognized me from previous Creep shows, my experience was better than my friends. In previous Creep events, the story physically moves you through the show. You have to participate, even if that means just moving from Point A to B. This time, there is a chance that you won't participate in anything and just aimlessly wander the art gallery and have little or no interaction at all with the characters. Usually after Creep LA, there is mingling, photo booth pic taking, and those who just went through sharing their experiences with complete strangers. When this was over, I'd say 30 of the 40+ or so in attendance just walked past the merch & photo booth and straight out the door. My friends, the couple and the other trio who we met in line before the event discussed what we just experienced outside. Words, like aimless, boring, frustrating, stupid and uneventful were thrown out. Going in to this, none of us thought that we'd come out on the other side so disappointed. The actors themselves were fantastic. The visuals are not impressive at all. When you compare them to Lore or Awake.....they are just flat out disappointing and seem beneath Creep LA standards. For the space and what actually takes place in Haus of Creep, this should have a shorter runtime and half the guests they are currently allowing. This was just a head scratching event.....it's not creepy, funny, exciting, beautiful, or ugly......it's just sort of meh. read more

What I love about Lore (the podcast) is the depth of every episode's story. Aaron Mahnke doesn't distract you away with voice theatrics or by focusing on horror and gore, but immerses you into the podcast with history, human thought processes, and pure storytelling. Each room or scene seemed to coincide with a different Lore podcast episode, though there were a few I didn't recognize (maybe I just didn't listen to those episodes yet). However...Creep just tried too much by involving too many untied scenes with too little backstory for each. By just putting in too many ideas, it lessened the potential of immersing into one scene since you only have a few minutes before abruptly getting directed to go into a totally unrelated different story. My friends, who don't listen to the podcast, felt a bit overwhelmed with the constantly changing scenes and commented afterwards that their overall impression was disjointed, confusing, and disappointing by the lack of any real interaction (other than the doctor room). We were probably spoiled by previous experiences with Delusion though. Don't get me wrong - the actors were amazing with the roles they were given and were the best part of the experience. They were in character, had impeccable timing to make sure our group members reunited at different stages, and overall were the best part of the experience with their personal touches of random humor. My particular favorite was the changeling scene, the voodoo doll lady, and the fabulous man at the bar at the end. Also, the use of darkness in the hallways and opening scene were nicely done. But each story had so much room for more growth and creepiness that I was a bit let down. I'll continue to listen to the Podcast because I love it. I'll try to be brave enough to watch the Amazon video Lore. But CreepLA had so much unreached potential. Maybe next year! read more

More like Perv LA if you ask me. I'll just cut to the chase; one creep put her MOUTH ON MY MOUTH and another guy LICKED and KISSED the hands of my husband and brother-in-law. We were absolutely warned that we would be touched during the performance which I accepted 100%, however this behavior truly crossed the line. My problems started in a room with tv's showing nothing but static. The creep in this room was a busty woman with no bra on that immediately focused on me. She got right in my face, grabbed my head, and seemed to try to open mouth kiss me on the lips. I pulled away and pushed at her but she kept it up for several seconds. Most people would pick up on my non-verbal queues, but she did not. Finally I took my hand and pushed at her forehead to get her face away from mine. This really set her off apparently and she proceeded to push and pull me around, at one point grabbing me and humping on my side, all the while cursing at me and calling me a bitch over and over again. I was ready to punch this girl out at that point and she must have seen it on my face because she left me alone and apologized to me when we went to the next room. I was so pissed I really couldn't even enjoy the rest of the night. Once we got outside everyone in my group was saying how it looked like I was about to hurt that girl and some were surprised to learn that what happened was not a part of the show. I am extremely disappointed with this event and I will never ever return. read more

The concept seemed worth giving it a go but once inside and out of the lounge area it became not worth it. when we first arrived the parking was plenty and free (even though it says $5 on website..that's a plus!) we arrived about 20 minutes or so prior to our designated time of entry (8:30). we were checked in and given a group card and lined up with 6 other people. they send you out in groups of 8. the scenery and atmosphere seemed like it would be scary and creepy. the creepy music and low lights and occasional peak inside of the entry way was giving it a suspenseful, creepy vibe. Once our group was led in we were greeted by two "creepy" girls and asked to sign a waiver prior to going any further. Should have read the waiver. Waiver to be aware of groping and isolation and awkwardness. We were instructed to find our way to the lounge area and proceeded with the "show". The lounge area was my favorite part. Seeing all the "creepy" actors/actresses play their part and the photo booth and bar were a nice touch. Now for the awkward part but I'll try not to spoil it too much. We were led into different rooms and hallways and each room had a theme/scene going on. You were essentially a part of it. it was all ok until for some reason I kept getting led away from the group to be a part of the show but yet was faced with a bunch of creeps. Especially during the "dinner" scene I was asked to lay in a dirty bed to play dead and then covered with a dirty/sandy blanket. (I played along) but did not appreciate the guy sitting on top of me even when I told him I wasn't ok with that. but the "show must go on". I eventually got off the bed but that set the tone for me. I was already over it. every time I got separated I would find my group and ask them what did they do or where did they go, each time they said "I don't know, it was weird." I continued to play along because I didn't know where the exit was and entered another room where another scene played out. Again I was separated by the group only to be locked in a closet with another actress who's part was to play as if she was one of us locked in there. Didn't buy it and I just sat on floor because (A) I couldn't breathe, it was hot and stuffy in there (B) I'm claustrophobic af and didn't want to freak out (C) it was pitch black and I didn't want to trip over something. I started to check my IG and text messages bc it was boring and was waiting for this "creep" girl to play her part so we can leave the closet. I finally found my way to the exit (alone) and waited for about ten minutes for my group to come out. No one seemed satisfied with their experience. We just walked back to our cars. I don't recommend this event to anyone, it's not fun, its not scary or "Creepy". Rather it's hot, lame and not worth experiencing. It may have potential if they kept the scenes short and sweet and did less groping, weren't in your face as much. they should take advantage of the dark warehouse and amazing props/stage settings and let people get scared rather than confused. Also they placed dark ash or dirt on people's faces, they throw dirt around so be careful not to get in your eyes, they make you hold other people's hands, they make you eat lipstick (my bf did not like that!), they kiss your cheek and nibble/bite your knuckles and attempt to suck your fingers (no joke) but then again you sign a waiver. If you are not cool with your personal space being invaded do not go to this. The prices go up in October up to $50, spend it elsewhere. You've been warned read more

I don't even know what to say. Haus of Creep is on par with Entry possibly better. Drove to DTLA in hopes there was some kind of stand-by line. I was by myself (such is life) and got lucky. You have to interact--you shouldn't expect to be taken away to every installation. It starts in the courtyard and doesn't stop until the end of the show. The actors are all great; shout-outs to whoever played Sally and the "Tour Guide". read more

I give constructive critism lightly, because the actors and the art was great for Haus of Creep. Overall we had a good time but for the money this event was not worth it. The exhibits were good and the side shows. I'll be honest Im not a fan of people touching me but I'd tey anyway. I love horror, Gore, and do not get scared at haunts. Besides that the price still seemed,very high for what you get out of of it. We understand that people have to be paid and there are productions costs. However, with SOoooo many wonderful options in LA there are many things for a better price. However this is a one of kind unique expierence. Plus the bar was a good addition. Thanks for it!!! ** Disclosure: I was given complimentary access to the event through Yelp ** So, when I am scared.... Like REALLY scared, I may or may not (but totally do) run in place while I scream. It's like a combination of fight or flight that accomplishes neither. That's why I was so excited to be selected as part of the Elite group to come check this place out. Friends of mine have told me that I make haunted houses that much better because of my reactions. Need to rent a "scream queen?" I'm your gal. Creep LA is more of an experience than a haunted house. It's more about the interactions than walking through a set of scenery. The actors play a much larger role. There are over 50 SAG members working this show and they all have tested their boundaries with these characters. Believe me when I say that these roles are unlike anything they have done before. I would compare this more to an escape room experience than a haunted house. Once you're clear about what the expectations are, you'll have a great time. When you walk inside, the actors will pull you away from your group. You WILL NOT be able to stay all together with your 8 people the whole time. You may be isolated from everyone else and put in dark, close quarters. You may be required to find your own way out -- to climb, crawl, or jump. You WILL be touched. It's not a "maybe." They may cover you up, display you, decorate you, and put you into the show. The owners and operators of this place seem to take great pride in doing something really original. Even after the show, we stayed for a "meet and greet" where they wanted honest feedback on each individual scene and what was working well and what could be better. That kind of painstaking attention to detail is refreshing. This isn't Halloween Horror Nights, where they funnel thousands of people through to look at fake blood for 5 minutes, before they walk on to the next haunted house which is more of the same with another theme. It's a small group with personal attention and a constant show, walking from one area to the next, with freedom to explore and go the direction that you THINK you're supposed to proceed through the maze. Things aren't roped off and neither are you. Each individual member of your 8 person group sees a slightly different show. It was very cool and I was thrilled to have a sneak peek.
