    My C.

Wanted to try this place after just noticing it last week driving by. Today, I knew I'd be driving by it again so thought I'd try with the kids! Took 5 of them with me and we ordered the following for a first try (groceries in car, didn't try food items because the wait time would be longer). We went for the simpler items like ice cream and drinks: crema con fresas con cheesecake bites, Dubai matcha latte, 75% sweetened matcha latte, cone chocolate ice cream, cup rainbow sherbet ice cream, and cup bubble gum ice cream. Rankings on a scale of 1- not good, 2- okay, average taste compared same or similar products, and 3-fantasti, stands out above and beyond other same or similar products. Here's the rankings: crema con fresas con cheesecake bites - 2 Dubai matcha latte - 2, 75% sweetened matcha latte - 1, cone chocolate ice cream - 1, cup rainbow sherbet ice cream - 1, and cup bubble gum ice cream - 1. Average = 1.2. Eeks. Trust me when I say that my kids and I have great taste buds because we have been around and around when it comes to boba drinks, ice cream, and sweets. I tried some of the rainbow sherbet with my little one and I will tell you that the flavor is still there but the texture is more strong. This is usually what happens when ice cream has been sitting around for a while-- at least for the sherbet. My other child's bubble gum flavor was okay. At first she thought it was good, but then she realized it wasn't. She didn't finish it. Single scoop for 5.50. my advice would be to avoid the ice cream here. We live half of an hour away and half of it was melted in the cup when we got home which she ended up tossing. Even after we were home, my matche latte was not yet below half point; that's how it tasted. My matcha latte was light, more milk than matcha. The matche is not a strong grade. It had slight umami but very light. The powder, when settled, wasn't dark like high grade powder. I normally don't drink milk unless it's with cereal, boba drinks, and matchas. This was a disappointment. At 6.50 w/no usual boba, it's mediocre. Dubai matcha was I think the same cost for a small. It was okay, a bit watered down but had the crunchy stuff and the Dubai flavor. Oh, the strawberries and cream was okay too: strawberry slices throughout the drink. If you like cheesecake, that was probably the best part. The strawberries were fresh. Customer service: the man was nice. He was the only one working. Not sure if he is the owner, but it literally was just him. I did not recall any welcoming remarks or if we had questions. I asked my children the same and none of them recalled any remarks at all. I did notice that instead of tending to the first item we ordered, he instead entered the item into the register first. He took all the items, took the payment, and then asked if wanted a receipt. Then, he said give him 5 minutes or so. The placee takes cash, cards, I don't know about phone cash apps though cause I don't do that method. The kids said there is a restroom, but we did not use it to determine if it's gender neutral or not, and whether it has multiple stalls or not. The place was clean. It had 3 small tables that seat 2 each by the green decor wall. It had 2 square tables that seat 4 by the pink decor wall. The place was quiet and chill. No music playing overhead or anything. Cute ice cream overhead lights hung from the ceiling lining the counter area. Some ice cream sticky out of the green decor wall. It's a nice little joint, but for large groups, it probably won't work well. I will come back at another time to give this place another try for the food items. But my advice is avoid the ice cream altogether and maybe even the matchas. Damage was 40-something (plus tip--optional, but I'm always a large party so you know...)

The location does have one restroom inside for customers and plenty of seating indoors and some outdoors too. Location and restroom were very clean and staff were very friendly! I decided to try two flavors since I was only passing through and couldn't easily come back to try it again. I got two of their monthly flavors, the sweet corn and the treasure chest. The sweet corn lacked flavor, you can only get a hint of it. There were a few corn pieces mixed in, but they were few and far between, plus they didn't have a strong corn flavor either. I loved the concept but execution was disappointing. The treasure chest was very good, though I personally wished there was a more even ratio of brown butter cookie to brownie. I can't recall if I even got any brownie pieces. Flavor was excellent otherwise. The other complaint that I have is that the scoop is small. As you can see from my photo, my two scoops looked like 1 scoop. Not worth the price. I know competitors like Han**ls, where I'm a regular at, have given bigger scoops. All in all, still a great quality ice cream.

It has got to the point of us waiting for the next month's flavors. This review is long overdue, but Nummy Yummy deserves high praise and recognition for is deliverance to excellent and tasty dessert for the Fresno community. We went here again just a few days ago and it still hits the spot. The menu typically rotates ice cream flavor every month. Not only ice cream, but they also have warm taiyaki! This place reminds me of SomiSomi chain, but to be honest, I think Nummy Yummy is better. All of the staff here are super nice, patient, and always willing to answer your questions. I've come here a lot and have yet to come across a grumpy staff member (haha). The location is in the corner of the RN Market plaza. There is plenty of parking, but I wish they hadn't taken away the indoor seating. There is nowhere to dine in and sit other than the dirty bench outside. I see the majority of people just eating in their car. I hope they decide to offer more flavors and toppings. The various Asian flavors are a hit, and a suggestion box from the public could be an idea. Also, not sure if the eye is playing tricks, but seems like their new cups provide a smaller portion than the old cups. Hopefully that is not the case.

So I looked for a local dessert place (by picture from other Yelpers) and I was in the mood for ice cream or fro-yo. I didn't realize that this place is very similar to the Somi Somi franchise; but still gave it a shot. Inside is very small and plain = NO SITTING so it is literally take-out. Ordering is simple and the cashier was friendly. I wished the fro-yo portions matched what customers received in the past, and there was no option to order small, medium or large. The flavors: pistachio not overly sweet was perfect for my wife. I ordered the half chocolate half brown sugar and only could taste chocolate so I was disappointed . Also their "fish" cone had a salty aftertaste. Overall, it's not an experience I would even give a 2nd try.

We were in town the morning after seeing the Firefail. Finally success on the third visit attempt. Amongst other shops on the desolate street stood an unremarkable window front where the repeat button has remained on since the 60s. Within was an eclectic mix of Japanese American household fixtures and Americana. Rustic. Nothing like Benkyodo's proper shelf presentation - or a hamburga stand. Some Japanese goods were on offer, but you come here for something sweet. We got a couple of mochi and manju, traditional red bean flavors, because that's all that was left. Their manju, seeming to have a different "batter" and "panini"-grilled, had a crumbly texture. The mochi though... Have you seen that viral video of that slapping mochi shop in Nara? What about people enjoying it? How soft it was, leaving a vegan cheese pull with every bite? This was by far the softest mochi I've ever had, and I thoroughly enjoyed the soy dusted yomogi. The bigger size of the mochi also accentuated the softness of the mochi. The matcha, also green, had a distincting different flavor, just so you know that the shop wasn't cheating. My partner in crime loved the lima bean mochi. The red bean filling tasted homemade, good flavor but not too sweet - the best compliment you can give an Asian in a world that remains overrun by pollo ala naranja. We are proud* that such a heritage perseveres on, especially in a part of town that's honestly become quite desecrated of life. Call ahead to see if the shop is open, and try to come early. The shop is a one woman show, and if my first two visits say anything, this lady enjoys having a life. And yes, she does sell out. She was nearly sold out when we visited. And try to enjoy the mochi ASAP. The mochi will last in the fridge. The texture will not. If you come at the right time of the year, the shop will have mochi in different fruit and pie flavors, and even ice cream mochi. *OK, "I'm proud of you" might be a bigger compliment to an Asian. And yes, there's Fugetsu in LA, but I haven't been. Though if you need a reason to visit the Fresno, you can always take the 99 traveling between SoCal and NorCal... Just need to be early if much is desired. If you're interested in AYCEat mochi, staying healthy, working out for free, and have an eye for the art of making mochi, may I suggest asking the owner for an apprenticeship? The owner's mentioned on articles that there's no one to take over and you don't become a master overnight.
