It's been a while since I've dined here, their hours are limited which makes it more difficult to find a time to stop in. They have a pleasant French inspired ambiance, which isn't fancy but very enjoyable. Note that their metal chairs, however, don't invite long stays. Historically, most of my visits here have resulted in some tasty crepes. Today was no exception, other than my Country Breakfast Crepe which was outstanding, the best Crepe I've had at this nifty, out of the way spot. After our 3 mile walk at the beautiful Blackstone Canal, we stopped by this interesting, little restaurant and selected: * Ham, Apricot & Brie Crepe $16.95 * Country Breakfast Crepe with Sausage $16.95 The Ham & Brie Crepe was nicely prepared and tasty. The Country Breakfast Crepe arrived surrounded by a cheese sauce with a sausage patty and perfectly cooked sunny side up egg on top. I think there were mushrooms, diced potato and a tasty sauce inside. Would I order this again? You betcha! Service was prompt, and we enjoyed the last few minutes of the live Jazz Ensemble just before they finished up. I look forward to a return visit. read more

How come I never heard of this little gem tucked away in an old mill building in the town of Northbridge? I'm seeing reviews from 4 years ago and I had never heard of this special place?!? Thankful for Yelp that I found it. It was my turn to pick a new place to try with my adventure friend and I chose this place because of the awesome reviews. We found the building fairly quickly and they were located around the left side of the building. When we walked in we were so pleasantly surprised at how beautiful it was inside and truly felt like we were in Paris. The menu is on a blackboard as you enter and after you've decided what you want you sanitize your hands and stop at the counter to place your order and pay. We did that and selected our table and they brought our order to us when it was ready. My friend ordered a banana and cinnamon crepe and I ordered the Berry Crisp crepe. Our orders of crepes were delicious!! The coffee was excellent too. We really really enjoyed our time here and will definitely come back again. First meal review! Friday thrifting with my daughter and we needed some lunch. Quick yelp check and found this gem. I'm a big fan of crepes but it's not one if my culinary talents. Not to worry as they ladies of Maison de Manger have it down. The menu is limited but sometimes I feel like that lends to a better experience. We tried the Chicken Pot Pie Crepe and the Ham,Brie, Apricot Crepe. Both were very good but We felt the 'pot pie' could use a little something extra like fresh thyme or some seasoning to brighten it up. I also believe the apricot jam was likely not house made. We also ordered a whoopie pie and coconut cream cake to go. Both were perfectly fresh and soft, everything you want in a cake treat and cleary made in-house. The Lavender Ice Tea is the star of the show! How did they make lavender taste like it absolutely belongs in ice tea. Just amazing so don't bat an eyelash at that hefty price tag $5.95. It comes in a huge mug. For drinks they have hot tea and some bottles options. I would love to see a french press (or any) coffee option. This may be a limitation due to Covid. Very friendly and lovely staff as well. Always nice to be greeted so pleasantly both on the phone and in person. Had a very nice lunch. The atmosphere is tranquil. Enjoyed the chicken, rice, curry crepe. Plenty of white meat chicken. Had the Majik bar for dessert, graham cracker base with layered chocolate (fudge?) and thick coconut top. A very nice lady took our order, then delivered mint water and the table setting. Ever since it opened this has been one of my favorites. From the decorations to the ambience to the menu this place does not disappoint. It is one of the single most relaxing and refreshing places in town; it stays an amazing place to walk in to have a meal and breathe not to mention how kind and personable the staff is. Being in an old mill the place is cool, clean, and very worth visiting. Bags and some other nicknacks are for sale (some handmade) and be sure bring a lock to leave on the post. read more

Loved the interior of Maison de Manger - there was one table that was old and looked industrial and had a spinning wheel as part of it that still worked. There are several tables and I have the feeling they all get filled up when it's popular as we were there around 10:30 on a Saturday and the place steadily filled up as we ate. I also love all the handcrafted items for sale - from scarves, to bags, bracelets and even jellies - big selection at nice prices. I ended up picking up a jar of their house made lavender jelly before leaving. The menu is eclectic. You can get poutine (regretfully not tried this visit), rich sandwiches, crepes, chicken pot pie - just a great variety. I follow the business on Facebook and knew what I wanted to try - the melted brie with lavender jelly and ham on focaccia bread. My dining partner likes things a bit spicier so he went with the shakshouka and I had seen the butterfly tea on their page and needed to try it out. The wait for food was not long! There was a man playing the guitar as we waited so that made a nice atmosphere. You order your items at the counter and then sit down and wait for it to be brought to you. My sandwich was awesome. I loved the creamy brie and it paired really well with the lavender jelly (which is why I bought some before leaving). The tea was underwhelming. It's cool how it changes color but for $4 I kind of expected more flavor and it really tasted like hot water with a hint of flower. I wouldn't purchase that again. The shakshouka meant business when it came to spice level - my dining partner was sweating from every pore, dripping sweat just a few bites in and he loves spicy stuff. It comes with cornbread and really could do with more bread and a warning that it's extremely spicy. It was hard for him to finish and ranks as one of his top three most spicy meals which was very unexpected. The portion was huge too (much bigger than the sandwich which was a bit small but came with delicious pickles and orange slices). We'll definitely return as there were several items on the menu (which seems to be ever changing) that we'd love to try in the future. read more

COME HERE FOR WELL MADE CREPES Second time I've been to this industrial mill setting with a French-vibe local. The owner was behind the counter one-day and sitting in the corner another - so it's a very hands-on kinda' place. You can tell that a lot of care went into the ambiance. FYI Good place for a insta-photo by the angel wings on the wall. Just saying. The crepe entrees are fabulous and made to order with nice, fresh ingredients. However, for presentation, they could use a little more love. Throw some chopped fresh herbs on top or a light creme dressing splashed artistically on the dish. A little extra would go a long way. I know there is music there on occasional weekends, but have yet to catch it. Also, they have a piano in one corner that is begging to be played. Plenty of parking and seating. There was no wait for a table on a Saturday. You order at the counter, they bring to you, and you clean up after. Today was the first time ever that my wife and I visited, and we were definitely not disappointed. Friendly and engaging service and the crepes were fabulous. My wife had the apricot, ham, and Brie crepe and Cream of mushroom soup, and I had the Berry Crisp. We were both delighted with the butterfly tea, the surroundings were extremely comfortable and relaxing. Went there on a weekday for lunch with two friends. One of them had been there before and highly recommended it, say the ambience was cool, the staff were delightful, and the food was excellent. She wasn't wrong. I had the ham and brie crepe. She had a galette with a side of cream of mushroom soup, and the third friend had a lasagne of sorts, but I can't remember the ingredients. All of the food was fresh and tasty. All 3 of us had iced coffee and it was excellent. I know, I'm commenting on the coffee instead of going into more detail on the food, but let's face it, if the coffee's bad, it does affect the meal. Not into coffee? They have a lot of unique bottled and canned beverages. It's out of the way and a little more expensive than my typical lunch, but there's plenty of parking and the food is definitely worth the drive. read more

Adorable and a completely unexpected gem in our Blackstone Valley area. Love the restored mill space; warm brick, the old wood floors, Edison bulbs, and chandeliers. A collection of kitchen tables (large and small, short and tall) provide plenty of seating, and when we were in on Saturday there was live music (love my folksie mornings). There's a large chalkboard near the entrance with the daily crepe offerings, both sweet and savory, and on the weekends they have egg offerings (however, they're all served with meat so I was unable to partake). I ordered a goat cheese and blueberry crepe ($10.95) and one of their house-made sparkling rose waters ($3). Yum! I'm a crepe FREAK so I really appreciated the soft buttery cakes and there was just enough filling (not too little, not too much). A great spot to grab a coffee and catch up on gossip with friends. Loads of parking behind the building (which is a-ok as the entrance is towards the back anyway - the front entrance is for appartment resisdents at the mill). Only complaint is the price....I didn't have to pay this much for crepes in Paris ($11 is a LOT for a single crepe...). When we arrived to the location we were a little unsure as it seemed very pub-like from the outside HOWEVER inside, it is adorable. Their food is AMAZING and they offer a wide variety of dishes. There are sweet and savory crepes (which I highly recommend) breakfast foods, exotic and simple grilled cheeses, and many other things I forgot. The service is simply phenomenal. The owner is so sweet and charming and you can tell she cooks, serves, and helps out. So I would definitely 10/10 recommend this for a nice breakfast, lunch, or early dinner! read more

I visited Maison de Manger for the first time today with my mom and a family friend. What a treat! The decor is an interesting cross between French country and industrial. The result is cozy, charming, and wholly unique. The dining style is what I would call fast casual. You order and pay at the cash register, and are given a numbered sign to place on your table. When the food is ready, a server brings it out. When my group arrived around 10:15, several other parties were already seated and waiting for their orders. As we ordered, the owner seemed worried that the kitchen might get backed up, but it wasn't an issue. We sat down and had all our food in front of us within 15 minutes. The menu is mostly crepes (sweet and savory), but there are other breakfast-type offerings and salads to choose from. The crepes all sounded amazing, but I was lured in by one of the Saturday shakshuka specials -- two eggs poached in a sausage gravy sauce with a (heart-shaped!) biscuit on the side. The eggs were perfectly poached, and the sauce was a great mix of peppery and creamy. It was filling, but so delicious that I didn't stop eating until my plate was clean! For the same price as my meal (about $13), my mom ordered one of the crepes -- Gruyere with fig. Based on serving size alone, I thought the crepe was pretty spare for the price, but my mom said it was fantastic and that the quality and value matched. It definitely wasn't filling, though. She needed to supplement with a scone -- some sort of cranberry/rosemary pairing. (She shared a bite, luckily, so I can vouch that it was amazing.) As we were leaving a little after 11, a musician was just setting up. Apparently there's live music every Saturday morning. While my group didn't need a reservation at 10 a.m., we were told that things quickly pick up later on Saturdays, so you might want to consider calling ahead. The tying detail is the support poles with wire mesh to hold lovers' locks, as they do on bridges in France. It was a really nice place to hang out and had live music on the Saturday morning we were there. My husband and I split the ham and cheese crepe and sausage and mushroom quiche. The crepe was simple and well prepared, and really enhanced by the pesto on the side. The "single serving" quiche was substantial, and if I had it on my own it would have been a huge meal. My one complaint is the coffee was too weak, but I do like a very strong cup. Make an afternoon in Whitinsville by hiking Purgatory Chasm, coming here for lunch, and stopping at the newly opened Purgatory Brewing Co in the next building over. read more

The food was delicious. You could tell it was freshly made with quality ingredients. We had the mushroom and sausage quiche - it was very filling with nice crispy edges, the cinnamon & sugar crepe- light and well seasoned, and the grilled cheese with Brie & bacon on focaccia- it had a unique delicious flavor and was filling but still light. The staff- AMAZING! The chef came out when we arrived and asked if it was our first time. It was so she walked us through the menu (written on several boards) and explained each section. It was so helpful! The other member of the staff (Donna) rang us up and brought us our food. She was absolutely delightful and also brought us a sample of a new latte they were trying out.
