Last 3 trips to the parts counter I've had a negative experience. First time I got the wrong part. The guy just tossed on the counter, didn't even look at the part I brought with me. Second time I was treated like I was bothering the guy who sold me expensive stuff I didn't need. All while treating me like I was putting him out. Today I walked in and stood back and waited. Two employees were at the counter. One employee helping the only customer there. This person looked me in the eye, so I approached the counter. He said, "You'll have to wait in line." Like I was doing something wrong. I looked around for a line. The customer looked at me and laughed, "I guess you're the line" I walked out. We brought in our Exmark for what sounded like a full exam...turns out it was more of a polite glance and a handshake. Yes, fluids got swapped and the blade's sharp, but the deeper once-over? Missing in action. My takeaway: if your mower has some mileage, they're less interested in fixing it and more interested in helping it "retire." BEWARE!!!!! I took my Toro lawn mower to have it serviced back in February 2026. It is now mid April 2026 and it is still not ready. The reason? Their mechanics did not look at it til mid March. I was promised it would be 2 more weeks. In two weeks, I was told a part needed to be ordered and it would take 2 more weeks. It has been 2 weeks! I called today and the excuses are: * their head mechanic no longer works there * the work order for my lawn mower was just given to the mechanic now. * the will hopefully call me back to tell me the progression. I believed this shop was a decent business--as it is not a chain and I would receive a more individualized service than the big box service stores. I WAS WRONG! This place charges more money for everything they sell. They cannot seem to get their employees to get the job done and are too good at making excuses! They offer no solutions--just excuses no matter who answers the phone! The holding time to speak to someone is ridiculous by the way--8-9 minutes and still no answers! Save yourself time and money! Went in to purchase a Toro part and ended-up with a knock-off that wasn't the correct part and would not have fit if needed for the repair. Luckily I didn't need the part; unfortunately, despite the many, MANY refund policy signs, none state they will not take returns that are electrical components even if un-used. So they got me and I want to warn you so they don't rob you! Ensure you are getting the exact replacement and know that you cannot return it despite it not being posted and even if you keep your receipt or don't use the part. Very dishonest counter sales; told me it was the replacement; asked about it not looking right, thought I could bring it back and was disrespected when I tried to return the part exactly as I recieved it; in the dirty with the (what I thought was new part) and receipt. Extremely overpriced local hardware store. With Home Depot across the street, I wanted to give a local store business and support small business owners. Stopped in to buy a stud finder, with no idea how much they normally cost. I purchased a Stanley S100 stud finder for $18.99 and went home to begin work on a project. I was researching the stud finder's functions when I realized it's only $9.99 at Target and Home Depot. I returned to Crescent Springs Hardware to either get a price adjustment or return the overpriced item. A rude cashier yelled at me saying she can't repackage the item to resell it so she can't refund me and that their store doesn't do price matches either. She was livid and kept yelling at us that the item can't be resold so she won't take it back. The receipt says returns accepted within 30 day, nothing about the condition of the package nor do they provide directions of how to open a package so it's returnable for them. So much for giving business to an overpriced local business who is just robbing nice customers of their money and yelling at them when they try to explain the issue. I've never been treated so rudely by any store employee, she downright yelled at us and had no desire to resolve the issue. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN!!!! Home Depot can have all my money. Great locally owned store, much better experience than going to Home Depot or another big hardware store - where actual assistance is hard to come by. I brought in my windshield-mounted holder that needed an adhesive, and not only did I receive assistance in finding the appropriate adhesive, but it was fixed for me right there at the desk while another person helped me locate hard-to-find metal pieces for holding shelves on a bookcase missing a bunch of them that I recently purchased. You can have item that you have no idea what it's called, the size of it , or the thread pitch etc. and the knowledgeable people who work here will find a match or a replacement. They have a wide range of items from paint to lawn equipment including their commercial mowers and snow removal equipment. They also service and repair lawn equipment. Your FIRST indication of 'problems' may not be apparent UNTIL you drop your mower off for service. They don't issue any 'ticket' showing your dropped it off. Unbelievable. They asked only one question when I dropped mower off... What is wrong with it? I.e. I told them it runs for five minutes and dies. This I now know was my SECOND indication of concern. Other reputable Honda repair will ask follow up questions. Ie. When it stops, can you restart it or not? Knowing the answer to such secondary questions providers reputable service departments with key info to properly diagnosis. i.e. if it doesn't start it is likely the coil. If it does start it is likely the carburetor. The THIRD indication of 'problem' was when I asked to take a phone photo of the paper work they prepared to put with the mower. They were surprised I wanted it... I said, well if you don't give ticket receipts I want something of proof in case your building burns, you loose the paper work with my phone, or if it is stolen. She replied to this.... 'you may want to take your business someplace else....' I was shocked. I left and go in my vehicle. The FOURTH indication of 'problem' was when I got the mower home after paying $80 and it did the same thing. I look at invoice and see that the maintenance person wrote on the order that he ran the mower for 30 minutes. I doubt this to be true because it 'died' on my only after 5 minutes. The FIFTH indication of 'problem' was when I returned and explained my issue that it would only run for 5 minutes. They send a guy out to look at what I said, he pulls mower out of vehicle starts it right up, tests the blade, test the rotation of the tires and says.... Nothing wrong it is fine. I said... sir.... Did she even tell you what the issue is... he said yea she said it wouldn't start. I said, no sir, she communicated wrongly - it starts but dies in five minutes. The SIXTH issue is not that he now states that the coil is probably bad, but how he acts to this question. I asked, now that we think it is the coil and not the carb can I get a refund for the labor I already paid for the carb work. Get this he says.... "You will need to ask the boss lady".... I say, okay can we go ask her. He says. No you can ask. I said, Ok. But won't she want to know your assessment of the mower. He says you can just tell her.... OMG. The seventh issue is that there solution to this is to have me buy a coil and they will install it for free. I said. I would typically completely agree with that, however I do not believe the service man properly ran the machine for 30 minutes, and I don't feel comfortable leaving my mower again given that I was ridiculed (See third problem) regarding my customer concern for no receipt document. Bad all around. Bad service. Appears reputable until you have an issue. Don't trust. This business is not BBB! Buyer beware! read more

We bought an emark mower and it started having problems before we owned it a full year. They kept giving us the run around about bringing it in to get fixed. They finally fixed it only to pull it out this season for the same problem! It has 2 gaskets and they replaced only one of them. Now not knowing which one they replaced we have to buy both of them and pay to have it fixed because it is now conveniently out of warranty. Thanks so much! read more

Where should I start??? The inside is so small that you can barely walk around. Next the employees look at you like you have 3 heads and that you have now caused them to have to do something. However, I went there for a lawn mower part, not knowing how much it would cost I didn't bring cash. So I navigate the tiny aisles and make it to the parts area which is again so congested with junk and repaired weedeaters that you can only stake out your very own spot and not move or you will knock over the Hostess Apple Pies and Cheese Danishes. Again, none of the employees say a word to anyone, no hi, hello, or kiss my a$$. Once it's my turn the female has to ask for help, we get the part and it turns out to cost a little over $2. I whip out my card and she says "we can't take a card for anything under $5". I'm sure a hardware store rarely has purchases under $5 but I digress. I asked why and she says "you're clearly not in retail, the majority of that money will go to the bank". No I'm not in retail lady, I'm a customer and I'm mad at myself for going there again today because I now remember why I freaking hate going there.
