Crest Lock Sucks I bring a key to be cloned. He ( Jesus) quotes me $65 to cut it, 85 to program it. Checks inventory. He has one. He puts my good key in the reader and winds up erasing it. Then denies to his boss and me that he said he could do it or that he erased it. The owner does ZERO to make good on my loss. I want everyone in the area to use anyone BUT Crest for your needs. I give 2 stars only because of my previous review and experience was 5 stars with Matt. Takes care of me everytime I come in and never had an issue with him. Prices were reasonable and he is easy to deal with. Today I came here to get a couple of keys blanks cut(purchased myself) and Matt was not here today. It was another guy, not sure of his name. Anyway he quoted me $90 to do 2 key cuts because they are quote and quote "High security keys." I was shocked. I had the same keys cut within a year ago by Matt and was nowhere near that price. I would have remembered that for sure. I'm thinking to myself c'mon now, it's slow times and i'm sure business has been slow due to Covid19, and figured after my reaction to the $90 quote, he would try to keep the job to make this place some money, knock off a few bucks. Didn't try to keep me as a customer. I will still return in the future, but only if Matt is available. Not sure of the guys name today, but not very personable. I've been to the La Habra location quite a few times and have never had any issues. The keys are cut right the first time and never have any issues. Matt is the go to guy and is knowledgeable in this locksmith field. Highly recommended! Don't be fooled by others like 24 hour locksmiths a lot of The Times they're not even open 24 hours. After you call them during non service hours they charge you a non service hours fee that is almost double for what they charge during normal hours. Long story short , I called Crest Locksmith at 9:26am and spoke with David and had him come out to my home's front door to unlock my door. He removed the lock off so fast so I can get inside get my keys for my car and get to work just in time.... Only paid $125 FLAT!!! instead of $199 like the 24 hour locksmith quote... I have passed by this small locksmith locations many times for many years. Since I tend to need motorcycle keys cut somewhat often (and home depot is on and off with cutting them), I decided to swing by here, and it worked out great. Its $4 per key to cut if you bring your own blanks (if both sides have to be cut, $2 if just one side), and around $6 if he includes a key. So the price isn't too bad. He had it done in 30 seconds. The employee was a very friendly guy and professional with his work. I will definitely be coming here anytime I need a motorcycle key cut. Went here today to get a new key for my sons car. His key was no longer working for his doors and you had to jiggle it in the ignition! I went to Crest Lock and Key today and had three entry remotes programed for my Buick. I purchased two of the remotes here too and they were much cheaper than purchasing at a Buick dealer and it included the programing. Once he connected his equipment, it only took him 5 minutes to program all three. And they all work perfectly. I would recommend them highly for keys and remotes. read more
