Absolutely love the location. So close the multiple groceries stores, shopping and freeways. Move in and out was a breeze. We did move out a little sooner than we wanted due to finding a job out of state. The rooms were decent sized. Loves all the cabinets. Loved the extra storage under the stairs and that the washer and dryer was in garage. The place is always clean and the staff was nice. This is townhome style and other than hearing the garage open and close no real noise from either neighbors unlike the place I live in now sadly. Like most complexes with pets the same owners wouldn't pick up their pets poop. The section where we lived was kid friendly. Everyone was away and drove slow just in case and the kids would stop playing if they saw a car coming or trying to back out of garage. I can't say this for the whole complex but at least where I lived they did this. There is a school don't know what kind near by. We liked to go walking around the neighborhood nice and safe. read more

Been here a few times as a friend of mine has a place at these luxury apartments. If I didn't already own my own place I would consider staying here first for the excellent location and second for all the amenities that are available for use. Not only is the area new it feels very safe. The pool and clubhouse are nice too. You feel like you're at a resort. Parking is ample and the people just seem very friendly including the staff that maintains the place. If you're currently looking for a place to stay or are in between looking for a place to purchase, this is a good spot to consider. Price, value, location, nobody even comes close. read more

It absolutely pains me to write this review for Cresta Bella. I'm not one to write negative, public reviews but folks looking for a place to live in San Diego need to know about how Cresta Bella treats its tenants when it's all said and done. I would encourage anyone looking to live here to read this review prior to securing a lease. I lived in the complex for almost 3 years and just recently moved out. Before I go into all of the negative, I do want to say that the leasing experience was great (this was all pre-COVID). The tours, flexibility, and friendly staff made it easy to want to live here. At the time, the pricing was fair too. Most units come with garages (big perk for me), washers, dryers, etc. On paper, it's exactly what most folks want these days. The property is newer and very well maintained. The landscapers do a phenomenal job making sure it looks picture perfect. It's walkable and the neighbors, at least in our experience were friendly. Unfortunately, the bad outweighs the good by a significant margin. In our little pocket of apartments there were numerous things going on that simply shouldn't be going on. Here are some examples of what we witnessed over the course of the last 12-18 months. 1) We watched what appeared to be some sort of drug operation going on along with heavy marijuana smoking pretty much every day. The best part? Families with young children live(d) right around the corner and management let it go on for months until that group of people mysteriously disappeared one day and left behind a lot of their stuff. Weird. 2) Our neighbors appeared to be breeding dogs in their home. Mind you that Cresta Bella does indeed have a limit to the number of dogs one is allowed to have in a home. At one point, I counted 4-5 dogs coming out of a single unit. These same tenants allow their dogs to poop on their makeshift patio and often don't clean it up for days. I can't imagine this hasn't been reported considering some of the homemade signs that have been created and hung up in the area by other neighbors. Cresta Bella has done nothing about this. 3) When I first moved in, Cresta Bella appeared to be a safe community. However, it seems that is changing too. About 6-8 months ago we received notice that someone was mugged in a nearby unit and had their purse and belongings stolen as she was exiting her vehicle. There's on-site security but I've never seen them do anything or help anyone. They simply drive around a single-headlight golf cart at night and 'patrol'. 4) The parking situation is beyond ridiculous. So much so that they had to issue parking permits for everyone. They claim to have a policy in place that requires tenants to park their vehicles in a garage and NOT use their garage for storage. That policy is never enforced. Cresta Bella's definition of enforcement is checking garages once a year to ensure a car is parked in it. I can't tell you how many times I watched individuals clean out their garages prior to the inspection (they informed tenants when it would be) so they could wedge their car into their two car garage. When the inspection was done, I watched those same people put all of their crap back in their garage and proceed to park back outside. Some folks had 3 cars parked outside their units despite having a garage. The effect here is other people having to park off property and walk in. 5) Beware of dumpster divers and don't throw away anything that might have your personal information on it. I've watched one individual literally carry trash bags, furniture, old junk, etc. out of the dumpster after someone throws it away. I've watched this same individual walk from dumpster area to dumpster area looking for stuff. No joke -- I put something in the dumpster and watched this guy carry it away 20 minutes later. Last but not least, moving out of Cresta Bella is an absolute nightmare. We went to turn in our keys and were told that we owe over $1200 to move out. Mind you this is after our security deposit, pet deposits, etc. are applied. Based on other reviews I've read here, it seems this is a common occurrence for anyone moving out. They claim they need to replace our entire carpet and apply some kind of bio-enzyme below the carpet due to dog pee. They also claim it will take 8 hours to clean our apartment when in reality it's in quite good shape (literally the same as when we arrived during COVID and they didn't take the time to really clean it up for us). When we asked what this was, the woman at the office couldn't even explain it. She literally talked in circles and had no answers as to why we owe money. Then she started saying she could remove certain fees for us. We're waiting on the bill and intend to fight it in some fashion. It feels like a desperate money grab at people who are in the middle of trying to relocate their lives elsewhere. And the fact it's happening to multiple people is sad. I have a love-hate relationship with Cresta Bella. Love: * Polite management * Quick turnaround on maintenance calls * Fantastic pool area, gym, property in general * Nice apartments inside Hate: * Not the best value. Rents quick to go way up when your lease is. * Incredibly loud neighbors which the management will do nothing about *Useless after hours security company that doesn't answer calls (always voicemail and they never follow up) On the noise - we have an neighbor with a car that has straight pipes (aka no muffler nor catalytic converter). I have complained to the management and to the neighbor directly. Other neighbors have as well as I have seen it myself. When he starts his car (at all hours day and night) it sounds like a cannon going off, even with the doors and windows closed. This is not an exaggeration. He frequently sets off car alarms in the area. Fun stuff to listen to at 5 AM on a weekend. To add insult to injury he always guns the throttle on his way out for extra noise. Nobody will address the issue and it's going to be our reason we won't be extending our lease when it is up. read more

Considered this among several properties around San Diego. Celeste was prompt in sending me an e-mail when I first inquired about this property. She also was able to extend to me a deal (one month free with 13 month lease) When Celeste wasn't available to show me the homes, Erica stepped in seamlessly. Both are pleasant and seem to genuinely care and want to help. A few pluses about the property of note: 1) Newly openend 2) Has a Tennis Court 3) Salt Water Pool 4) You get one painted accent wall with rental 5) Nice community room 6) Must show proof that you earn 2.75 times your monthly rent- this seems to be a good thing to ensure higher quality neighbors A few pluses about most of the units: 1) Has a personal indoor laundry room 2) Has an attached garage 3) Tall doors and windows give a feeling of space 4) Spacious bathrooms 5) The extra storage spaces on the patio and in the garage 6) Beautiful inddor design- not plain and boxy-accented with arches and other interior accents A few minuses: 1) *There is a buzzing noise that comes on in the apartment (tour near dusk if you can when the lights are on) and the source is the walk-in closet. I can't tell any other source other than that... . 2) *The medicine cabinets are really high! I pretty average height and will need a step stool to reach the top 2 levels in my med cabinet. 3) They let you use the community printer if you need to print something when you are touring. The one I used was almost out of ink with very faded prints. I asked for the ink cartridge to be changed and they didn't. All in all it's a very exciting place to consider living! Nice apartments with nice amenities. Good location for a family that gives you access to good Poway schools. But it's very expensive and when it's time to move out they will definitely take your whole deposit. Do not plan on getting any of that money back, Even if you take very good care of the apartment and return it clean and in great shape.They really don't appreciate your business at all and they really want to take it vantage of you financially. They will be very nice to you when they're trying to set you up with a lease, but make no mistake, they see you as a walking bag of money. The apartments are fine. Honestly I didn't mind paying the higher rental price. But I regret having paid the salaries of the people who work there Because I know now that they did not value our business and did not valus as people at all. UPDATE: I took Kim's advice. I called the Cresta Bella office And I let them know that I was furious about the fraudulent cleaning charges that they assessed to our security deposit. We lived in our apartment the minimum amount of time allowed, which was just over four months.We paid to have our apartment professionally cleaned every two weeks, Including one week before we moved out. We were told by Cresta Bella staff just to wipe down the counters and return the apartment. My wife and I went beyond that and vacuumed and mopped the carpets and floors.They billed us for eight hours of professional cleaning services, on top of the standard carpet cleaning bill and the last month of common area utilities. For our three bedroom and two bathroom apartment, we were paying for 2 to 2 1/2 hours of time for each cleaning, which made the place look immaculate. It is completely absurd, and obviously fraudulent, that they billed us for eight hours of professional cleaning for this sized apartment that was already very clean. I pointed this out to the manager and let her know how upset I was about this and how obvious it was that they were committing fraud. She stated that she didn't know anything about it, and she agreed that it seemed inappropriate, and she blamed it on the maintenance manager. Now, I have spoken with three other families who went through the same process, and they had the exact same experience. Our very close friends chose not to fight it, because the husband had just been diagnosed with cancer and the wife was getting ready to have a baby, so they didn't want to fight over a couple hundred dollars. Another family that we know, that was moving from one Cresta Bella Apartment to another Cresta Bella apartment, had the apartment professionally cleaned just before turning it over, and they were still billed for the maximum allowed number of cleaning hours. Eventually they showed a receipt proving that they had done this, so that the apartment manager would admit that those were inappropriately billed cleaning hours, which were ultimately refunded. Our next-door neighbors from Cresta Bella, bought a house at the same time that we did, but took an extra six weeks to do modifications to it, so they more recently went through the same process of moving out. For their two bedroom and two bathroom apartment, they were billed for 10 hours of professional cleaning. Think about that for a second. What are professional cleaners doing for 10 hours in a small apartment that has just two bedrooms and two bathrooms? When I spoke with the assistant manager and manager about our cleaning bill, they were apologetic, but I could tell from their reactions that they get many irate phone calls like this. It is their standard practice. Some families who are moving out advocate for themselves and are able to get some of their security deposit back, after it has already been billed. Other people, who are understandably stressed and otherwise occupied from the process of moving and having other things going on in their lives, will just let it go. Cresta Bella is banking on that. The situation is ripe for a class action lawsuit. There are definitely many, many families who have been fraudulently billed for hundreds of dollars each. It's not worth any individual family's time to take legal action against them, but that's not due to lack of grounds for it. If there is an attorney out there who wants to get this going, I have no doubt that there is a case to be made for a class action suit here. read more

I really don't have any bad reviews of this place, except that the rent is higher than a home mortgage :( PROS: -- Nicely landscaped and kept up -- SUPER friendly staff - in the office or while doing maintenance calls, everyone is really nice!! -- Spa with Saltwater Pool and Cabanas -- Gym, Club House, BBQs, Movie Theater -- No Dog Size Restrictions!! (TWO THUMBS UP!!!) -- Easy to schedule maintenance online and they're fast! -- Neighbors are all quiet, respectful, and nice -- Kid Playground -- Dog Friendly with Dog Park (would love it if they had a dog wash area somewhere since it's -- hard to wash large dogs in the shower or tub - hint hint :) ) CONS: -- BIG DRAWBACK is that they install the CHEAPEST carpet known to man. I'm OCD clean and have had to have it shampooed 3x in the past year because it scuffs instantly (this adds up to another $600 in shampooing). I have a no-shoe policy but it's so incredibly cheap that it gets dingy instantly!! For as much as you pay here, they should have wood, tile, or berber. -- They will NICKEL and DIME you for your move out. I had 5 yr old carpet which they tell you when they move in that they replace every 5 yrs. Upon move out they tried to tell me they were going to keep it and stick me with the cleaning bill. I fought and they finally agreed that the carpet was in bad shape (it even had nails coming up in some places). We moved here after living another apartment complex in mission valley. Most places have pros and cons as Cresta Bella does but management always called back when we had a question or issue. They were really good with showing their care about tenants. Really appreciative towards Farhat &Zen. They were always understanding and extremely helpful. We lived in a 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom apartment w/o garage. We never heard any neighbour noise or any other thing. Also people who live here pretty nice except the ones that not picking after their dog and putting their trash to bushes Check this place out, I am sure you will enjoy living there. I have to say the Maintenance Team here goes above and beyond! I have met almost every single maintenance worker here over the past 8 months of living here and every single one of them is not only friendly but quick and efficient. There has not been one issue with maintenance here. I even get same day service on my work order requests. Most are taken care of with in 30 minutes of my initial call! Even when I see them out on the property they make a point to say hello and ask how my day is! Fabulous! The office staff is also very nice. I haven't had many problems and I'm not often in the office but I am happy to be here. Thank you to all Cresta Bella staff for being so kind to myself and my family. read more

This place. I cannot tell you enough how much I abhor this apartment complex. I have lived in places in worst areas for have the price of rent with better service and apartment appliances and functioning. So this isn't long here is a short list of why this is the WORST apt community I've lived in: 1. It looks nice, it's labeled luxury, and the rent is an exorbitant amount of money. - Dont judge a book by its cover, luxury - they must have a different definition, the rent price is ridiculous. 2. This apt had several things break and a water leak/damage. It was brand new and we were not compensated well for these severe inconveniences. List of things that didn't work right. 1. dryer 2. stove 3. ceiling fan 4. toilet 5. Refrigerator 6. Lights and I'm probably leaving a lot out. Today was another inconvenience. It is summer time and a sunny Saturday afternoon, what a great time to use a great amenity of the community gas grill right? NOOOOOOO. They clean the grills on Saturdays, well they say. They don't make it know to residents. Why? clean the grills when most people will use them at the time. They have signs for out service on all grills just for cleaning. Why not have the grills cleaned one at a time so one is available? We went down there at 1230 in the afternoon and they haven't been touched. Why not clean the grills in the morning? The staff were unhelpful and incompetent. It's just my opinion but this place get's my vote for WORST apartment complex for San Diego and Worst Rent to Value Ratio. My husband and I lived in a apartment in Cresta Bella and absolutely loved it. Wish we didn't leave, were currently considering going back. It's hard trying to find a calm and friendly community. We don't have kids but even our dog had a dog park there, where it was easy and accessible for us to take her after a late night at work. And on sunny days we could just go to the pool there! The staff if very helpful and humble too! Farhad was the man who helped us and we couldn't have felt more at home the moment we walked in. He probably took us to 3 different styles of apartments before we could make up our mind up! But the entire staff is friendly. This place has many communities such as single home styles and family styles, but even with all the variety it's matched my expectations. Security was always around and I never had issues with my car getting broken into or mail. The only thing I would change is all apartments on the second floor having carpet. I wish we could've had tile instead, but at the time we did have a growing puppy so that might have actually been a good thing for the neighbors down stairs. read more

I used to be in the military and have lived in many places. When moving to San Diego I looked at dozens of apartment complexes. Another reviewer mentioned not to judge a book by its cover and I have to agree. I thought this place looked beautiful and it does. It called itself luxury, which is what I like but I would venture to say its not. First off, the construction is very poor. If you live on the bottom floor you can hear the footsteps of those who walk with a heavy foot above you. You can also hear neighbors showers running, toilets flushing, dishwashers running and washers/dryers as well. The granite seems to be poorly treated, the carpet is cheap and whoever thought of putting 'green' energy lights over the stairs was not thinking things through. When you get home at night and you turn the light on to walk up the stairs it will be dim for about 30 seconds until those bulbs light up fully, ugh! Putting the apartments aside, this complex was brand new and for some reason they decided to outfit their fitness center with outdated technology. They now keep the thermostat locked so the afternoon hours when several people are in there it gets hot. For a new complex, it looks like they bought an old gyms equipment and it bothers me. They have signs posted all over the complex stating no skateboarding, biking, scooters, etc...but nothing is enforced. I have seen kids going nuts all over the place often without regard for the cars coming in and out. Back to the apartment. For a new, luxury apartment, they went with the cheap route on everything! Not one appliance is modern, they are all older. The water temperature when I first moved in was way to cold but that was adjusted after I complained, a complaint I hear happens a lot. Overall the apartments aren't necessarily BAD but when you factor in the price you are paying for what is supposed to be luxury then it is not a fair price. I reside in a 3 bedroom place and pay 2600/mo and that price is far too high for what you are getting. I live along and being the first resident in the particular apartment, the carpet is already worn because it's cheap and i'm very disappointed. read more

I went to probably 10 places in San Diego before making the decision to move into Cresta Bella (December 2011). I selected the community because it is a newer complex and still competitively priced with neighboring communities. The day we moved in we had one service request (the water temperature was too cool) - we requested an adjustment and it was completed in the same day. Washer and dishwasher are pretty loud and can only run when you are out of the unit, unless you want to yell at one another in the house. No big deal - run It when you leave. Unload it when you return. Facilities are excellent...we visit the pool & jacuzzi regularly. The gym is well equipped and access is great. Management office is very accommodating. We live in an upstairs unit and have had some noise concerns (the doors below slam so hard it shakes my china hutch) and some evenings I can feel the music through the walls. There are teenagers below and to the side of us though so that's to be expected. I've only heard the folks to the opposite side of me one time & they have 2 dogs (but no children). We have security that patrols nightly and I have noticed the noise levels quiet down after 10 so I think I have them to thank. Our downstairs neighbors have expressed concern over my pets rough-housing (they are lazy dogs so that's funny to us). The noise concerns from us - and them- leads me to believe you have to be overly conscientious regardless of whether you request an upper or lower unit....welcome to multifamily housing folks. If you want the luxuries of a house --- go buy a house. It is a dog friendly community - thankfully, because I have 2 pets. The dog park is a big save for them. Like some of the other people posting, I have seen some change in the grass since moving in, because of the dogs. Management recently treated the grass at the dog park so I am assuming that same treatment will take place throughout the community in the near future. I have absolutely no complaints about parking, we have 2 vehicles and neither are parked in the garage so I don't understand the complaints there, we have never had problems finding a place to park. Overall, considering this is multifamily housing..I am pretty happy with the community. The floor plan I am in is very open & welcoming. The children in the community are closely watched by parents and neighbors. Management is "on top" of issues - almost annoyingly so. So for anyone wondering about Cresta Bella Apartments in San Diego, CA, I caution you. We moved in recently (04/04/20) and very soon after began to experience coughing, congestion, etc., and attributed it to the demolition of the old Double Tree Hotel across the street but didn't talk to anyone else in the same buildings. About 2 weeks ago, I thought it might be mold or mildew so I decided to turn off the AC and open all the windows. Within 24 hours these symptoms were gone. We were convinced as both our children who have continued to work thru this pandemic didn't experience symptoms while at work only to experience them when they returned home. My wife and I didn't experience any symptoms while away from our apartment unit. I decided to take a look and exposed the AC unit by removing the filter. What do you think I observed? Mold! I contacted the management who sent the maintenance personnel. I was told, "don't worry it's not mold because it's not black. It's just mildew." I contacted my doctor who said that mold and mildew are extremely similar and that we should be concerned. They had a gentleman come in who sprayed some liquid behind the filter area but never checked any of the ducts. We left out of town days after for a week having not turned on the AC again before leaving. We returned home, fired up the AC and the coughing commenced. I requested that my July rent be waived and the additional month they will be charging me for breaking our 10 month lease. My request fell onto deaf ears. However the management called me while on a family vacation out of the state to remind me that my rent was due and late. I requested the owner's information so I could contact them. This community is branded as a "Luxury Rental Community." Don't be fooled by the nice external appearance. Unfortunately, the management cares about one thing - collecting rental income. The overflowing dog poop canisters unattended for days is enough to turn your stomach. We moved in thinking it was a well run, clean community with safe pet policies. Unattentive management; inconsistent response from the maintenance staff (5 months to get a faucet fixed); numerous tenants using their entire garages as storage units, so the parking situation can get pretty chaotic; lots of dirty tenants who don't pick up after their dogs; and aggressive dog breeds walking around, for which supposedly there is paper work allowing what are otherwise unallowable breeds. We asked some of the owners of these aggressive breeds about the paper work, and they had no idea what we were asking about. They had no documents for those dogs. The property tour might impress you, but living there won't match your expectations, and the rent is high for what you get. Do your research. read more

The staff is absolutely tone deaf when it comes to the tenants concerns. Been living in this development for two years now and the parking situation has become horrendous. Because everybody wants to use their garages as living spaces, there is absolutely no parking available. As a result, we are often forced to park outside of the property or even further away within the development. The manager thought the solution would be to inspect garages to ensure that they were empty enough for cars to be parked in. Needless to say, the tenants made temporary adjustments and went back shortly there after or received a warning to no effect. After this pointless exercise, it was pretty much concluded by many of the tenants that this manager was simply laughed at for the dumb exercise and waste of time. The easiest solution would simply be to assign parking but apparently that requires work and effort that the staff just isn't prepared to do. Meanwhile, we see people setting up offices in their garages, gyms, and living rooms. At this point, we are considering a class action lawsuit against the owner and management for promising parking during our initial tours of the property and obviously charging us tenants for a benefit that simply does not exist. read more

I really like living here. I love how quiet it is, we have a one bedroom with attached garage and are on the second floor. We never hear neighbors either side of us. PROS : Great location Lovely apartment, small but good for us Attached garage with loads of storage space Gas stove Safe area In house washer and dryer Clean grounds Pet friendly Dog park CONS... Our apartment is in sort of a cul de sac so you can hear everything outside, kids talking, garage doors, and we have a neighbor who is constantly yelling which is a little frustrating, but that's not the apartments fault. Cheap kitchen appliances Our bedroom is above the neighbors garage so every time they go in n out we can hear the garage door opening and closing and its pretty loud $50 pet rent, per pet ,per month, I have two little dogs that weigh less then 5lbs so this to me was ridiculous, Pool is tiny A little overpriced for the size, especially when you add an the extra pet rent, then it's just ridiculous Anyway, overall I like it here, the staff could be friendlier, but I don't have any complaints about them. I am thoroughly pleased with Cresta Bella. The pool/jacuzzi area is stunning, the clubhouse and movie theater are wonderfully intimate, yet elegant. The landscaping is perfect and well maintained. The staff is friendly, helpful, concerned, and warm (they know me by name - and it's not because I was late on rent LOL!). I especially appreciate that if I have a maintenance issue it's always solved in less then 24 hours, and usually less than an hour! Plus, they anticipate problems (e.g an overstuffed dumpster) and fix them immediately. I figure that because maintenance, landscaping, 24 hour gym, storage (~300 sq. ft. in my model) and pool are all included in the rent, I save about $500/mo. that I would have to spend if they weren't included. The location is terrific. There's a resort across the street with an elegant bar and restaurant, day spa, and golf course. Across the other street is a shopping plaza with an Albertson's, Office Depot, tire store, fast food restaurants, and barber/hair salon. The shops and restaurants of Carmel Mountain Plaza (over a dozen mid-level restaurants, cinema, Costco, etc.) are an easy walk across the freeway. It takes less than 5 minutes to get onto the I-15. read more

As rent prices rise in San Diego, we found it important to find an apartment that would give you a fair return on your investment. Cresta Bella does that beautifully. We stayed in the townhouse style. Here are the things to love: The garage has more space than other garages we have experienced. We do not have to push the mirrors in when parking in order to not scrape them. In addition, there is enough room to park an SUV and also still keep a storage rack beside of the vehicle in the garage. The garage also has a light, which was a nice feature, very nice for loading and unloading your car at night. There is a lovely raised platform as well, which you can use for storage, or if you are the DIY type, it would work well for a workbench. The other nice detail about the garage is that there is a parking stop, a piece of concrete that looks like those you find in parking lots, that you can position and use to determine where to safely bring your car to a park without running into your other belongings. The garage is also pretty, and looks like a regular room in your house since they paint it the same color as the interior of the house so if you like to hang artwork or posters in your garage, you have a nice and enjoyable base. The square footage in the house is nicely divided into practical spaces. We had an unusually large set of Queen bedroom furniture and it fit in the master bedroom with plenty of room to spare. The master bathroom had really high ceilings, which invites you to decorate with nice artwork. The bathroom also has a classy granite top sink with drawers for storage in addition to cabinets. We never lacked for organizational space. The view from the patio is gorgeous, you will see changing mountains in the background every day, the shifting landscape is as refreshing as the cool and fresh mountain air that comes from your next door neighbor, the Black Mountain Open Space Park. The kitchen is nice and open, with plenty of room for appliances like a juicer or steamer. The laundry room is quiet because it has its own little room and you can close the door and even do laundry at night peacefully. There is also extra storage space in the laundry room for things like a broom, or vacuum cleaner with room to spare. The living room has a fireplace that will actually heat the entire room, which is rare for gas fireplaces. The carpet is nice and plush. They have a very functional business center. The kids come and play games while the adults can relax with complimentary tea or coffee in a very chill business lounge. The clubhouse is very classy. There were a lot of parties hosted here and there is always enough room for everyone. Parking may be a bit of an issue for your guests, you will need to be creative. There is a billiards table, a full kitchen, a living room style setup with tv and fireplace, cafe style bar tables, and a cozy dining table set up next to a library. They also have very nice social events from the movies every month in the private theatre, to the great food they serve ( with a smile, the employees are upbeat and enjoyable to be around). The fountain behind the clubroom is perfect for early morning tea, or a nice lunch where you need to relax. Take a yoga mat out, and the water will provide the perfect sounds for you to focus to. They have a salt water pool with a fireplace and couches for entertaining your family and friends. The spa is large enough to swim in. I would warm up when it was cold, with the spa, and then hop into the heated pool for a quick swim, and I wasn't the only one who loved the technique. Your neighbors are friendly and amiable. They are also good as decorating, so enjoy meeting your neighbors and seeing their flowers, decorations, and don't forget about the Christmas light contest! So enjoyable and pretty. It is a wonderful community where your kids can play with their friends safely on the gated in playground. If you love walking your dog, not only does the apartment have great sidewalks, but the dog lot is great and there is usually parking most of the time. read more

I have to say that after reading the reviews about Cresta Bella I was very leery about whether to consider this apartment. However, I decided to take a look anyway and was pleasantly surprised at the customer service I received. Cresta Bella has all the amenities that one would expect from a luxury apartment, beautiful pool, business center, gym, etc. The apartments are nice sized (I looked at a 3 bedroom) very clean and bright. On the downside, the appliance quality is basic, however, I have found that to be the case in most of the places I've looked at. Where I was very impressed was in the customer service. I asked lots of questions about the property, the maintenance of the apartments, and about the less than stellar reviews. Edwin answered all my questions professionally addressing all of my concerns. Good: location, views, wonderful leasing staff, great neighborhood, spacious apartments, clean, quiet, safe, complimentary carpet cleaning after renewing lease, attached private garage, great maintenance crew. Really like the apartment complex. Bad: pricey, appliances getting on in age, very very loud bathroom fans. Not sure if all units have same problem, buy my master bedroom doesn't have window that opens. Just a door, which is frustrating coz can't get fresh air when it's cool outside and don't want to sleep with door wide open. Gets hot, forced to turn on air conditioning. There are always pros and cons to any apartment complex, but I will try my best to give both. We moved here from another San Diego Apartment Complex. These apartments are very nice for the most part and we enjoyed living here and would consider moving back if the opportunity arises. Pros: - Nice Apartments - Washer and Dryer in Unit - Dog Friendly - Relatively fair price in San Diego Market - Garage units available - Offer one colored/painted accent wall (for free) - Very nice maintenance staff - Great 'heated' saltwater pool - Nice Gym for an apartment complex - Has tennis court - Has a fenced Dog Park for complex - Convenient location - Has Playground for kids (but con is that it is mulched, messy) Would cost more upfront, but last longer and be nicer if it was artificial grass/turf or rubber. - Has resident referral program - Has nightly security patrol (also see con) Cons: - No security deposit discount for military - Large Pet Deposit amount, as well as monthly rent per pet - Limited parking spaces available and many do not park in their garages - Brindisi model (2 bedroom) has other units garages under both bedrooms - Loud garage door openers - def not ideal when your neighbors garages are under your bedrooms - If live near Gerana Street be warned.... *there is a lot of foot traffic from your lovely neighbors that live in Canyon Rim Apts *there are kids/teens that come and skateboard and jump drainage area (near Cresta Bella Maintenance Building area). It is VERY loud and disruptive, especially if you have a napping baby. Management is aware of the issue, requires calling office to have them come tell the kids to leave, as well as you and neighbors asking them to leave multiple times (its a nuisance). They usually leave, but always come back another day. - When moving out, they take a black light to your carpet to look for stains. Never had an apt do this before, seems intrusive and were not made aware prior to move out inspection. However they are looking for pet urine. They also charge for cleaning and carpet cleaning or replacement. - If you have a " mountain view" and/or a stone building...you are probably paying more rent than another unit without those. I contested our "view" due to other issues we were having with our location and Atlantic & Pacific Management did take care of us with that (had to go above management here at the apt complex). - Nightly security patrol is a pro for some, but they will only call police, they do not intervene in any situation. Overall, we did like our home here and it was a nice apartment and complex. They were very helpful upon moving out due to military orders. read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! Seriously, save yourself. You'll only live to regret it! As others have stated this is no luxury living community. It's made cheap and all the appliances are too. Our dryer has broken 3 times and they won't replace it, just fix it until it breaks again. The parking is HORRIBLE! They are short on parking as it is then you have many residents that use their garages for storage instead of parking their vehicles in it. For a property short on parking, they also don't limit the number of vehicles you can have. So one family can have 5, not use their garage and take up all of the area parking. Management's response? There's parking on the street. Yeah you mean the street littered with broken glass from all the cars that have been broken into? One of the basic "luxuries" is having a place to park when you get home. The landscaping is hideous, a lot of rock and dirt instead of grass or mulch. For a pet friendly community, grass is scarce and what is around has brown patches and dog crap everywhere. People can pretty much do whatever they want at Cresta Bella. They are too worried about a lawsuit to enforce any rules. Many here have pets that aren't on the lease so they aren't paying the $50 per pet rent. You also have some extremely large families living in units way over the capacity limit. The water, trash and sewer are prorated based on occupancy so guess who's footing the bill on the excess? Everyone else in the development! People also let their children out without supervision. They've been known to throw rocks through car windows and ride skate boards through the development at all times of the night while shouting. They have a security guard that rides around in a golf cart all night but he appears to have the same "anything goes" attitude as the management and turns the other cheek. SAVE YOURSELF A THOUSAND DOLLARS AND LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE! THE MAINTENANCE CAME INTO MY APT. ILLEGALLY!!!! I did not recieve a 24 hr. written notice for entry as required by law. They came into to "check up" on my garage to see if we are using it for our cars - (they have a policy). Not only were my tenant rights violated legally, but I am creeped out that someone came into my home w/ out my permission. I found out because they posted a notice on my door that they were there for an "inspection" - yet, I had nothing to inform me before. Not cool! LOUD LOUD LOUD KIDS EVERYWHERE!!! I have lived in Cresta Bella for a little over a month now. I am very disappointed w/ the management team. They do very little or seem to care about the social complaints of the community. There are kids CONSTANTLY making endless noise into the dark hours of the evening. When you want to come home after work and unwind and relax, all you here instead is "clink... clink... clink..." from SEVERAL kids on their skateboards! When I approached the mgt. their response was "well, kids need to be kids". Really, are those kids forking out $2,700 bucks a month for rent? Why are there signs all over the property stating "no skateboards". I know why - so when you drive around and consider renting you think "awesome, they have that under control" - NOT! They are constantly running around and SCREAMING - not normal play.I can hear every word they scream from sitting in my living room w/ the doors closed. They are a nuisance to say the least and there is nothing being done to control the problem. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!!! The appliances are cheap and LOUD! The dishwasher is so ridiculous that I have to turn the volume WAY UP on my TV in order to hear it... ugh! There is absolutely NO PADDING under the carpet (I mean, really?). It actually hurts my heels to walk barefoot. The granite is ugly and looks like something that a more prestigious contractor would refuse to use. It is irregular and questionable. There is no electrical outlet in the giant hallway, so I have to plug my vacuum into the garage door opener (yes, down in the garage in that outlet) to vacuum my stairs. SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE. IT IS FAR FROM "LUXURY LIVING". It looks pretty and shiney, but don't let the pretty paint fool ya! We are moving as SOON as our lease is up. This place is terrible... read more

I was very surprised to see the ratings on this complex.. I lived here for a year in 2013 and am returning very soon because I missed the amenities, open parking and convenient location. I lived in a 3 bedroom with room mates and a dog- I will say the prices are fairly steep and I don't know if I would pay the premium on my own- but we all LOVED it there. Here is my honest breakdown of the place: Amenities were great- -24 hour gym was always clean and had towels and water available, TVs with cable -Clubhouse was free to use and theater was first come first serve during random hours of the week. If you want to book it and make it a private event, I think there is a deposit and also proof of renter's insurance had to be shown so it would equate to a couple hundred to rent. Shuffle board (there was sometimes never any salt to use it though) ,Pool Table, kitchen and a living room area with TV. -Office Center: free coffee/tea and 3 computers with access to printer and internet. I would see kids using it too and thought it was nice that they had it open to use. Management allowed me to make faxes and were very friendly - The rules and hours were always a bit grey to me. They were sometimes strictly enforced by manager on some tenants while not at all with other tenants for the clubhouse/pool. We were given different free use hours than other residents and also on holidays, some families and put their own reserved signs on all the tables and cabanas... Floorplan/Appliances We had a 3 bedroom near Cuca Street I think it depends on what section of Cresta Bella you live in that will determine how noisy or busy it gets. We loved our floorplan and it was a lower unit so I would hear running water and the kids running around upstairs. It was not something that bothered me much, but then again, I sleep through fire alarms. 2 car tandem garage and we were still able to fit washing machine, a clothes rack and boxes for storage with our cars! Our guests never had issues as parking is first come first serve and the street was right next to our complex and always had plenty of room. (One drawback with the huge garage is I noticed many residents used their garage for storage instead of parking so they would sometimes permanently park their extra car in the guest parking lot for days at a time) The kitchen has amazing storage and they make use of their space. All our rooms had walk in closets and none of the rooms felt small at all. The only issue we has was with washing machine and the dishwasher. They did not work too well as we noticed stains were left behind and would require multiple washes. (clothes and dishes) The dishwasher was also very noisy to run and eventually broke down. It took 5 days for someone to come look at it. Our neighboring complex is Canyon Rim and I do see kids sometimes skating or biking over to our side. They have not vandalized anything in my area and I have not had any issues but I have heard people closer to that end experiencing issues. Cresta Bella does have a security guard that patrols at night and he is great! I feel that the west side of the complex may have more parking issues as well. Move out and Deposit $400-$500 and Pet Deposit $500 I was very apprehensive on the move out date as my friends who moved out of the complex before me forewarned us about the robbery to ensue. If you have kids or a dog, they do a black light test to see if they need to replace any carpets. While pricey- I kind of think its a good thing for people moving in, since you know you will be getting a clean place. We lucked out as they had changed their carpet cleaning company who does an amazing job! We also did not have many stains in thebed room so they only replaced carpet where they found pet stains. I thought that was reasonable. They did not charge us paint fees because we only opted for the free accent wall upon move in. The paint they use is not the best as it comes off and scuffs easily but we were not charged for any of that. They do charge pet rent and also a pet deposit.... but overall they did not take our full deposit as we thought they would. I feel like having pets here was rather pricey.. but they do have a dog park and have doggie bags throughout the premises.. I am returning back to live here so I can definitely say I am a fan. I will update you as I will be going to the west side of the complex so who knows how parking and the noise situation is over there. The staff that I interacted with the most was always VERY friendly and helpful. Lorinda, Edwin and Candace are my favorite because they are so genuine. Cathy is the property manager and she was always kind to us too, she is very by the book but that's her job. Talecia was not the most pleasant and did not seem to care about retention rates so I avoided her. Overall- a great place to live and happy to be returning. read more

Simply unbelievable. I called on two separate occasions over the past two weeks to tour some 2BR units, gave all of my info, and was never contacted back. You might say "Well, hey dude, just stop in and tour an apartment on the spot!", but they do not allow walk-in tours. So basically, this leasing department has zero desire to lease space. Pretty remarkable considering that's exactly what they're in the business of doing. Unless it's really a fried chicken franchise secretly disguised as a residential leasing/management company, I guess. I called again today to try and reach a manager or anyone else there who might actually care about renting units, but their phone tree does not leave an option for that. You can either leave yet another message for the completely out to lunch, unresponsive leasing team, call in an emergency repair, or get a basic list of office hours. No option to get a live person. I'm actually starting to wonder if any live people actually do in fact work there. What are you guys doing all day? Playing ping pong or enjoying your incredible amenities? You certainly aren't returning calls from prospects who want to sign leases for your apartments. Seeing how you are an apartment community (and one which bills itself as a luxury one at that), I'd honestly suggest cleaning out the entire leasing team and finding some people who like or enjoy returning calls. Just my honest feedback. And I do this on the commercial side for a living, so I think I know what I'm speaking of. I have been living here for almost 3 years now and I will probably be leaving soon as it's time to move into a house. Though I wanted to mention before I leave, that in all honesty I can rate Cresta Bella a "10". Reason being is that the apartment complex is kept up very very well, the staff is AMAZING, and if there is any funny business going on, Celeste, Zeppelin, and Farha will not tolerate such nonsense as they truly care that EVERYONE has a good living experience at Cresta Bella. I have read some of the complaints and poor ratings in some of the other reviews, though in all honesty, take them with a grain of salt. If I am not mistaken, I think there is over 300 apartments in the complex, so you can only imagine how many personality differences there are. Overall the staff does an amazing job making Cresta Bella your home/pleasant place to live. If you are looking for a place to reside, I highly recommend Cresta Bella. read more

I have lived in Cresta Bella for over two years, first I lived at the Villas then transferred to the Breezeway. Aside from the beautiful surroundings, we are still here because of the friendly and very accommodating manager and staff, as well as, the hard working maintenance staff. The few times we have had to submit work orders, the office and maintenance staff were very quick to respond and get the job done. Like anything else, there is no perfect apartment complexes. You're bound to have issues here and there but overall, I must say that this complex has minimal and that they do try to resolve them the best way they could. Parking is not a problem here as it is in other apartment complexes. As far as the children skateboarding issue, I have noticed that it has been minimized by 95%. The only reason why I didn't give them a five star rating is because I still see dog waste here and there but if we all do our part in picking up waste and trash, this could be a five star rated luxury apartments. Not everyone will agree with me as far as how I rated Cresta Bella but everyone has different experiences and views of certain situations. We are very happy here but if we should have to move because we are purchasing a home, I would certainly recommend this place to my family and friends. read more

So I couldn't disagree more with the negative comments. From day 1 when we first looked here the staff has been nothing but friendly. Edwin is who we've been dealing with the entire time and he has been great. We moved out of a two bedroom to a one bedroom here and it is so much more comfortable and spacious. All of the neighbors have been extremely friendly as well. The amenities are awesome as well, 24 hr gym salt water pool and even a dog park for your fur babies. We love in a downstairs unit and can only hear the occasional water running. We def do not hear them walking above us. The property is very clean and well kept. I highly recommend moving here. I have lived in this area for almost 30 years. This apartment is the best thing that ever happened here. I have had nothing but thanks giving that i live in such a beautiful place. I have had no problems at all living here. Everything works not one problem. My 2 bedroom floorplan is very spacious, nothing like a typical apartment. There is a beautiful community room, theatre, pool and spa, and bbq area. This is a resort type of look and feel with all the amenities. Management is great and very helpful, that is a great plus. Also you can have your pets here too, why go anywhere else? read more

I have lived at Cresta Bella for 6 months now and only really had one big issue. The electricity in my room kept going out, every night when watching TV it would shut off and I would have to wait for everything to reboot (cable box, etc). That was extremely annoying, but I do have to say that they literally tried everything to fix it and finally did, even though it took 3 months. Lorinda and Cathy at the leasing office are a great help, they respond to my emails within 24 hours and are very attentive. I have had no issues with management at all and maintenance does come out quickly to fix any problems. To be honest, the place is very expensive since I have no kids or anything so the nearby community, good schools are not a help to me, but the place is very nice. I have a one bedroom apartment, my own garage and stairs so I don't hear anyone above me. I did hear the neighbors a lot when they shut their doors, but honestly, couldn't hear anything else, I feel like for the most part my neighbors were really quiet. Sometimes kids were outside but only on the weekends and it really wasn't that bad. I love the air conditioning, place is very clean, and its a good size. I went looking downtown and around those parts and the places were much smaller for the same price and UGLY. If I found this apartment downtown it would be like $2500 and I pay $1640 here. The worst part is the air in the bathroom. I do not like how the lights are attached to the air so you can't ever hear yourself in the bathroom or talk to anyone while you are shaving or brushing your teeth, its very loud. Overall, I had a pretty good experience, could have been better, but I have had much worse. read more
