I lived here for 3 years. Good things: favorite location, great wards, fun social environment. Bad things: management. There are plenty of reviews on ratemyapartments about all the horror stories of management here, so i won't go into all the crap. Just know that if you live here, management will treat you like garbage. They will never listen to your complaints, take forever to do any repairs, make everything your fault, and talk down to you when you ask polite questions about when things will be fixed. I managed to avoid management for the first 2 years i lived there, so it was a good place to live. The third year i had to deal with them a lot more, and oh my gosh it was a nightmare. read more

This is the worst housing I have ever delt with, disgusting when I moved in- they never cleaned from previous tenants, had ants all over the apartment and refused to do anything about any problem. They have yet to give me my deposit back after I immediately moved out, they will not return a phone call, email or text, they are shady and horrible to deal with. IF I COULD GIVE A ZERO I WOULD!!! DO NOT AND I REPEAT, DO NOT MOVE INTO THIS PLACE. This is the worst place you could live. My roommates and I had issue after issue after issue. The management is horrible, will not help you out, and is extremely rude. Even after one of my roommates talked to the owner Caden, he was still extremely unhelpful and extremely rude. Caden only cares about money and not his tenants at all. No matter who you go to for help they don't care and they won't help you. It's all about money. After my roommates closet flooded they did not care at all. They did not offer to lower her rent while it was being fixed or offer anything for any of the damages done to her things. For a pre-existing issue THEY KNEW ABOUT ALREADY. The way they "fixed the wall" was putting a plastic cover over a huge hole. (See picture below) the maintenance guys even told us that they were told by Amber, an office worker, to "fix it as cheaply as they can.". Our shower was broken for 2 months, again no discount on rent for any of us!! ALL FOUR OF US GIRLS HAD TO SHARE ONE SHOWER...ONE SHOWER FOR FOUR GIRLS! They tried to blame the broken shower on us, so we had a professional plumber come look at it, since the maintenance just couldn't seem to get anything right. After that we were told that it was a problem with the pipes and not because of us. They tried to tell us we had to pay for the repairs and we had to fight them on that too. Everything in this apartment is so poorly put together and Caden, you are a horrible, ugly person for taking advantage of YOUNG, college aged kids for there money and not caring about their living situation. The rent on this place is ridiculous for what you get. Everything is painted over holes in the walls floor boards messed up flooring coming up, paint chipping, anything you can think that would be wrong with an apartment is wrong with this apartment. Caden and his workers are cheap, A-Holes who will walk all over any student they can and it's disgusting. The pool is never working so don't hope on that, the hot tub also will never be open and when it is it will smell strongly of bleach, and bleach all your swimming suits, assuming that's because it's cheaper than chlorine. I can't imagine that hot bleach is good for the human body but i don't think Caden and his workers really give a crap anyway. I CAN NOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH DO NOT LIVE HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!! My roommates and I are more than happy to be out of the CrestWood, and live in a wayyyy better apartment for wayyyy cheaper. You could not pay me to live here again. I, like most people, gave this place the benefit of the doubt. Horrible mistake. Most maintenance repairs are duct taped, if taken care of at all. Management changed 3 times in the yea and a half that I lived here, each worst than the last. The owner does not care about tenants, he will nickel and dime you for EVERYTHING. They do relatively routine cleaning checks, mostly to get more money out of tenants than they already do. The pool almost never works, so forget about the hot tub. It didn't even have water in it for 9 out of the 13 months I lived here and when it did, it was out of order. Do not even waste your time with a tour!! God-awful experience. read more

I should've listened to these reviews before moving in, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. First thing's first, when I moved in last August, they were still doing renovations. Maintenance was in and out of our apartment for months, even on my days off when I tried sleeping in. My bedroom didn't have blinds for almost two months. Management promised us multiple times they would bring them within days which turned to months. This led me to sleep at my parents house in salt lake because I couldn't sleep. Many false promises. Another example is the pool. They said it would be open by memorial day and ended up being near the end of july. The pool was only open 1 out of the 12 months I lived there. Speaking of maintenance, one of the maintenance workers - WHO HAD A KEY TO MY APARTMENT - hit on me multiple times. I came home one day to a note in my bedroom with his phone number. I brought the note to the office to make sure he wouldn't be able to get into my apartment and they had promised me he didn't work for the Crestwood anymore. The next day I saw him outside my window working on the pool. I saw him multiple times afterwards up until I moved out. I did not feel safe living here. Second, the whole apartment was falling apart. The renovations they did last summer were absolutely horrible. You'd see strands of hair and tape painted into the walls. Paint on the bathtub was completely off by the time we moved out. We would step on the tack strips in the carpet. I came home to black widows inside and outside my apartment. Same thing. Slept at my parents house for days because I didn't want to be here. With all these issues, it was extremely difficult to get a hold of management. They never answer the phone during hours. There used to be an after-hours emergency number but whoever answered said we were calling the wrong number. One time, my roommate was showering and I could hear a loud noise coming from the closet. On the other side of the wall of my closet was the shower. I got closer to see what the noise was and I could see the paint on the wall growing a huge bubble. The water from the shower was filling into the wall and eventually it burst. I have a video of it if anyone would like to see haha. There was water all over my closet and the office would not answer the phone because it was a saturday. MY CLOSET WAS ACTIVELY FLOODING FOR TWO DAYS. Slept at my parents house. Finally monday came around and we were able to get a hold of management. Someone from maintenance came in and "fixed" it, but when I came home the next day from my parents, my closet was flooded again. Ruined all my books and my brand new laptop was there but luckily wasn't ruined. The water took about 3 days to dry. A few days after my closet dried up, the same thing happened to my roommate. Once again, we couldn't get a hold of management. It almost seemed normal for things like this to happen to them. They didn't seem surprised or bothered that our closets were flooding and ruining our things. Management can't comment on this review and say these things happened before Crestwood switched up management because we had problems the whole year with both management teams. Another example was with one of our roommates. She moved in and brought a cat with her. This in no way was her fault. She had an ESA that allowed her to bring a cat to the Crestwood. I was allergic to the cat, along with my other 2 roommates. We mentioned this to management, and they said they couldn't do anything about it. This was during the summer where there were many rooms available in other units. Last, but most importantly, crestwood steals your money. With our deposit, we had $125 that was refundable at the end of the year if we passed the final cleaning check and returned our keys. I had that apartment completely spotless when I moved out. Getting my deposit returned was important to me, so I made sure to clean extremely well. The move-out paper said to place our keys in the envelope but we never received an envelope. I left both keys on my sink so they would find it easily. I hadn't received a check in the mail after a month since we moved out, so I checked my resident portal online and found that I was receiving $0 back. $50 for the keys that weren't returned because they weren't placed in the envelope we never got :) I could go get that key printed for $2 at home depot. There was a $50 charge for the failed cleaning check. Another $50 cleaning fee to hire cleaners. When I noticed I wasn't getting a refund, I called the office. Multiple times. No answer. After calling every day for a week, someone answered. He said I should've brought the keys back to the office since I didn't have an envelope. I guess I could've done this, but I didn't think the sink would be a problem? I was told the cleaners probably threw them away since the cleaners were there before management walked through. Lived here for four years and the complex was recently sold to a group of investors. Management since the sale has been terrible. They cancelled my contract that was already signed and approved by previous management prior to the sale being completed. They did this to about 40 different people as well, not just mine. All their "renovations" literally are just painting over the scratches, holes, dust on the cabinets and countertops. The new cabinet handles are not leveled, dishwashers not even fully installed, and the new hard wood floors are warped from being left outside in the exposed weather for weeks on end. Non-responsive management or employees. Be prepared to call multiple times with no answer and no call backs. When you do walk into the office, they say they'll get back to you in two days. Girl was just sitting on her phone listening to music with her AirPods. Contract ends August 15th, 2021 and they still have the guts to try and charge me a full months rent when August rent was already paid when I renewed last year. (There are multiple accounts like this). If it were possible to leave a negative 5 star review I would. Save yourself and possible kids going to college the headaches of moving into this place and find something else even if it's a little more expensive. Management was absolutely terrible to work with. Claimed they would help you when in reality they literally never did. Our amenities were all broken the entirety of the year. Hot tub hasn't worked since September and doesn't look like it will anytime soon. Pool also is still not open for the summer... mind you it's almost July. If one of the appliances is broken, didn't get fixed for months. We had work orders for a microwave, dishwasher, and washing machine at the same time and each of them were unusable for at least over 2 weeks. One cleaning check my roommate failed because the toilet has erosion on it and will literally not get clean and was charged for it. Nobody is resigning on their leases for a reason!! There is a reason this place fills up slow... trust me when I say stay away! You'd be better off moving to Orem, paying less and having better management than staying here! read more

Run! Run! Run! This is the worst scam! I wish you could put no stars. I never write reviews, but this experience was bad enough other people should be warned. I have stayed in many apartments at many different schools. I unfortunately ignored the bad reviews when looking at this apartment. I decided that it looked super nice and signed a contract. 2 weeks before school I got a huge job and school opportunity at a hospital in another state. So I thought no problem I can get it sold. I spent hours, days, and months trying to sell this place. The management assuring me that they could sell it in a day. The manager only told me this after I had to drive 6 hours to Provo to talk to him. He never answered my calls, texts, or emails. Which is ridiculous! I never was even given an assigned apartment. I never stepped foot on the property until that point. I know that I signed the contract and am responsible but I ended up paying the whole 12 months plus all of the hidden fees and costs when I never even was told which apartment I had. I was even charged all the utilities, administration fees, and insurance when I never stepped foot there. I tried and tried to get rid of it. But every time I would send someone to sign, it was like they fell off the earth. Management promised they would sell my room first, and yet a year went by. They were the most unprofessional I have ever dealt with. I hope they can repent before the last days knowing they took over $8,000 from a student trying to get into medical school! Don't let anyone you know or love be taken advantage of by these greedy people! Find anywhere else! Their response: Hi McKadee, my apologies for the bad experience. I do just want to inform you that we have no record of you ever texting us (I would be happy to provide your text record to you as well). We do record all phone/text activity automatically through our software so I am not sure why there was a lack of contact. As for us selling the lease we did inform you that we only do this once we are 100% occupied which we still are not. So my apologies if there was a mis-understanding and you were under the impression we would sell it prior to us being 100% occupied. As for the hidden fee's that you mentioned, non are hidden, they are always clearly disclosed prior to move in such as the cost of utilities or administration fee, these are always discussed prior to move in and they are also stated within the lease agreement and website. I do understand as well why you are upset that you were not able to sell your lease, but you did enter into a legal agreement for the whole year. We cannot just negate the contract as this would go against fair housing law and Redstone policy. Please be advised that we do strive to give our residents an outstanding experience but we cannot break the law for any of our residents. We do wish you the best however, and if you do ever wish to come back we would still be happy to help. In addition to this we are under new management starting as of June 2023 and we do have the goal of creating a great environment within the community and great relationships with our residents. Where do I begin. I wanted to be roommates with a good friend of mine and talked with a worker to make sure and that didn't work out and they didn't try to fix it at all. Horrible experience. Literally the worst. This was the cheapest remodel I have ever seen. I payed almost $600 in rent for crap. I had a leak from my bathroom fan for almost a year and it wasn't fixed. Horrible management!! This place tries to make things sound nice and great but they are always cutting corners. I lived here for a couple years and things changed horribly with the new management. I've now moved out and after checking everything off my white glove cleaning list, they failed me, charged $80, yet can't even tell me what I failed, because they didn't do the cleaning checks and have no proof of it being dirty. Crestwood was just overall poorly managed. Took forever to fix plumbing issues, no water, etc. They also charge you for literally everything. They are extremely cheap and in my opinion liars who will do anything for an extra 50 bucks. I was very disappointed with my experience. read more

They half-assed renovations to make the apartments look nice but installed appliances poorly which has caused all sorts of problems. Our dishwasher was broken for 2 months and management basically told us that it was caused by how it was installed, and that we just had to deal with it. The paint chips everywhere, bedroom walls, shower, etc. lots of leaky dripping pipes, and the walls are really thin. You can hear every si hole coversation from your bedroom as if your door is open. They overprice for poor-quality apartments, and management doesn't respond after several requests. Not worth how expensive it is. read more

My daughter has lived in Crestwood for most of the past year. It has been her worst experience in Provo by far. She is responsible and compliant by nature and has always paid her rent on time, etc., but when she erroneously thought the move-out date was the 15th instead of the 13th, the boot of tyrannical management came down on her neck without mercy, demanding that she be out at an arbitrary time or face unspecified consequences. When we begged for three hours longer so that she could attend a once-in-a-lifetime family event, they were unwilling to work with us. Only after prolonged pleading did they agree to consider a delay (which is still in question as I write this review.) If you want to live in a place managed by actual human beings and not automatons, do not live at Crestwood. read more

Worst experience ever. Their "renovations" included painting over tape and hair on the walls, the vinyl flooring with massive bubbles everywhere. Didn't come in to check if previous tenant cleaned, which she didn't so I had to do that. Very overpriced for what you're getting. The hot tub stopped working like a week after it opened. If you want to move before your lease is up you forfeit your deposit AND have to pay a $250 "transfer fee". What??? I have never had anything like that anywhere else. And why? I found someone that took over my lease anyway. How is it any inconvenience for them? Couldn't get ahold of the office the whole time I lived there. So many calls with no answer and their voicemail is full. I am shocked there is a single above one star review because I have never once spoken to someone that has lived/lives there with a good or even average experience. There were so many earwigs as well. Yes. Earwigs. They are taking advantage of poor college students with this pathetic excuse for student housing. Don't get me started on getting towed and booted. And the apartment aren't the same. Some look infinitely better than the one I was in, yet I was still paying a whopping $617 a month. The website advertised $530, but there was random fee after random fee. Great place to live! Close to everything you could possibly want or need. I love their 24 hour laundry onsite. The staff is very friendly.

So, I lived at this complex for two years. Our dishwasher was broken the entire time, and management was generally unpleasant. When eventually they did "fix" the dishwasher--no, they didn't actually fix it--they threw a part on the doorstep and never came back, even though my roommates and I told them multiple times that the dish washer was still broken. Cars regularly get broken into in the parking lot, and anyone who says this place is good is also probably on the payroll: as of summer 2018, management still pays people to give good reviews. If you value your standard of living at all...I wouldn't live here. Or if you value living at all. Multiple suicides and health-related deaths in the past year. Beware shady management practices. I wish we would have read other reviews of this place before sending our daughter there to live. It appears the manager has some underhanded deal with the towing company that polices the place. My daughter paid for rent and also paid extra for parking. After her first night, she came out to find a boot on her car and a note saying it would be $60 to remove it. We contacted the manager and proved we had paid for parking. He said he didn't care and we would still have to pay the towing company to have it removed. It's a real shame that this housing complex is associated with BYU and the church. I have lived in Provo for over three years. I have lived at Glenwood, Santa Barbara, and now The Crestwood. Living at Crestwood has been by far the WORST experience of my life. 1st of all rent is $550 a month. There is no laundry in the unit & you have to pay to use it. 2nd they have said multiple times they would fix things and haven't, also really important things. My key to lock my front door did not work for over a week. They finally did something after my mom had called and she told them. Even though I had called them everyday multiple times for several days in a row... no one got back to me. They claimed they cleaned this place when we moved in but there was filth and nastiness EVERYWHERE. But the best story for last. I come home from my apartment at around 12 am. There is a plumbing guy at my door asking if I can take a lock to see what's going on and he he told me there was s flood above and SEWAGE water was everywhere. So they had to evacuate this building and now we are staying in a hotel. This has not been fun . Hopefully this helps? read more

This place is awful. The management only cares about how much money they can get from you. The apartments themselves aren't bad, just know that you will be charged for everything. I got married this summer and had completely moved out of my apartment, when I went to turn in my keys I was told that I couldn't move out early without paying a 50 dollar fee...... If you want to live in this apartment complex be prepared to pay for parking fee, and even if you put the sticker on your vehicle it could either get towed or booted, the boot cost about 70 dls., and the towing is about 200 dls. I went to the office to talk about the boot even with the sticker, and they said they are a business. I asked them to at least give warnings for the first time, and they said there are no warnings. I explained that the day we got a boot there was no way to go to work, that day we were late to work because of the boot. How do they expect students to go to work, and pay for the rent when they get booted or their vehicle towed. How can they pay rent if they get fired or less money for being late? Our Vehicles got towed at least 6 times, paying University Parking Enforcement about 700 dls. That's not helping students at all. read more

Absolutely do not live here!! When we moved in, all of us noticed the apartment looked nothing like the apartment they showed us. The paint was yellow and peeling off the walls, a things were held together by duct tape (the couch and microwave) and the cupboards were disgusting and peeling. There was a giant hole in the ceiling of our bathroom, which we later found out was due to a sewage leak from the apartment above, which the girls before us had to deal with. Gross!! The entire year, any time we had maintenance requests, the office would not take care of it. I had to go down to the office every day for a few weeks and angrily confront them before they would do ANYTHING. When they did, they found the easiest, most temporary solution to the problem and I would have to deal with the problem again later, going through the same exact process. Our apartment was particularly bad. The power would go out about once every week or two. It got progressively worse the longer we lived there, to the point where it went out multiple times a day. Management did nothing to fix it. Because the after hours man was so unhelpful, we actually learned where the main breaker box was ourselves and flipped it every time the power went out. We all loved living together, but we couldn't wait to move out. When we did, we did a thorough cleaning of the apartment, though one roommate did not show up to clean. My other roommate went in the day of cleaning checks and asked if we passed, and the manager said we all did except for the one roommate who did not clean. When I got my refund check, it said I failed the cleaning check and took out most of my deposit for it. read more

Hahaha this apartment complex is a joke! Have a broken fridge? Get used to it because it won't get fixed. Our freezer has been broken for 3 months now and it still is not fixed. Have an infestation of beetles in your apartment? Don't worry, your name will be put on a list but it won't stop the bugs from coming in. The prices are marked like it's a high end place but it's a dump, rip-off, and not worth even half of what they are charging. The carpet in my apartment is horrible! It's tearing in multiple places. They said they would replace it but of course, that was an empty promise. They pay their residents money to write good reviews online so I wouldn't trust any good reviews written about this place. Crestwood is an awesome place to live! The rooms are very large and the wards are fantastic. There is tons of parking so you never have to fight for a spot. The management is very nice. A few things i am not fond of is the price for laundry and also the timely manner in which the management fixes issues in my apartment. Other than those few things it is great! read more

The apartments are super nice to live in. Its great Knowing i don't have to share a sink with other people so I can get ready in Peace. The Clubhouse is also super easy to schedule for events and parties. I was able to host my Sisters Baby Shower and a Murder Mystery there with no problems. read more

I have had an overall good experience at this location. Loved the layout of the (Gold) Apartment. All separate rooms with a reasonable amount of space. Heat and air conditioning worked well. Was a little bit dirty when we first moved in but really not bad. Fridge, stove, oven, sink, microwave all worked well. Fireplace is a nice benefit. Furniture was in excellent condition in the living room. Carpet probably needs to be replaced; ripping in a couple of the doorways. Lots of room for food in the kitchen. A fair amount of storage in the rooms. Overall not bad for the price. Clubhouse was pretty good. Very small gym. The pool is shallow. Hot tub is small. Parking is available close to the rooms almost always. read more

I generally wouldn't write a review complaining about management but the management was awful. I set up an automatic payment when I moved in and they lost it and charged me a late fee. I had to go to the office several times to ensure they actually got the automatic payment set up for the next month and it worked for several months. Then I get a call that I haven't paid my rent while I am on vacation out of the country. Turns out that they had gotten a new system and it had stopped all the automatic payments which I guess I should have been aware of before I left the country. Both times the people i talked to apparently didn't have clearance to clear the late fee and no one ever seemed to be able to get a hold of someone who did. My friends all seemed to have similar problems. Be prepared to spend extra money in hidden fees that you don't deserve. read more

I would highly recommend finding another place to live. I have not had a good experience living here. I had to threaten to take my cases before the housing board in order to get repair requests fulfilled, and the management doesn't know what they are doing. I have had them lose payments, causing me to double pay or face eviction, and when it's your word against theirs, you know its going to be a losing battle. management changed during my tenancy and the new management is about the same. they don't have it all together. it almost seems like they will extort you for anything they can get from you. read more

if you're looking for housing in provo, definitely don't go with the crestwood. the apartments themselves are nice - spacious private rooms, fully furnished bedrooms and living room, etc. some of them are a bit dated and it shows, but all in all, the apartments aren't bad. the problems i've had have been with the management. got a summer contract last year and when i renewed and got an august-august contract and switched apartments, i was treated horribly during the moving process. stayed up until 4am the night before move out scrubbing down my whole apartment and moving my things out, only to move into my new apartment the next day and find a dump. trash behind the dresser, a gross old armchair in the living room, dirty floors and cupboards, etc. recently i found out i was given the wrong key to my bedroom (i have one other roommate so i never bothered to lock the door). i got home from a camping trip and had locked my door not knowing i had the wrong key, and when i called the after hours emergency number to have them come unlock it i was told i would have to wait at least two hours because they were "on the way to family dinner", and then they proceeded to charge me a $20 lockout fee. these are just two of the major problems i've had (not to mention getting booted in the parking lot despite having paid for a parking pass) but every interaction i've had with the management has been negative. they're demeaning and don't seem to go out of their way to help their tenants. my contract ends in august and i definitely won't be staying here. read more

I am highly dissatisfied with the Crestwood. They advertise year round spa use, the hot tub was open . . . for the first couple of days. I've lived here 3 months so far and it's been closed ever since. I couldn't move in until the paper work was all done, on my end and theirs. I finished the paperwork promptly, then continued to wait 5 days for them to send me an email giving me the OK to move in and get my keys. And they charged me a late fee for paying the initial fees late, when I didn't even have access to pay them yet because I was waiting 5 days for them to give me access! Once I finally was able to move in, I realized how crappy the place is. Our kitchen has cabinets that are falling apart. The bottom of my clothes dresser drawers fall off every time you pull them out. You have to put in a repair request with the front office if something needs to be fixed, which it should have been before I ever moved in, but it takes them a couple weeks to ever get around to it. The office staff don't seem to know what they're doing, if you ask one of them a question they have to ask amongst themselves before they give you an answer. This place is not worth it, whoever is in charge of how things run has no care for the resident's. read more

The staff were always rude when I would go to pay my rent, they were absolutely unbelievable. They were the biggest jerks I have ever had to deal with! There is one fat woman with blonde hair, and a tool of a prig who would never hesitate to comment on any perceived infraction the tenants would make. I understand it is very difficult for managers to deal with difficult tenants, but I have never before heard of nice people being chewed out for nothing. The apartments were fairly expensive for what you got. I have lived in nicer places for far less. The rooms were dingy (I am not even that particular, college apartments are rarely very nice) but this place was revolting. It was filthier than dorms built at the turn of the century. They were poorly kept up, with tears in the furniture, the kitchen appliances were in need of serious maintenance on several different occasions. Overall, an unpleasant place, run by spiteful, disgusting, and loathsome people. Especially the fat blonde, the homely brunette with the frog face, and the man with no cock who shouts at girls (what kind of man shouts at girls?). read more

Pretty upset with how I was treated. They don't treat you like you are a customer and are not reasonable. $120 Was what I was supposed to get back from my security deposit, but I only got $40. They told me I didn't pay my last month's utilities, which I did because I always paid the full amount due each month. They also charged me for not returning my parking pass even though I had totaled my car, which had the sticker pass on the windshield (couldn't really return it). Not to mention, the measly $40 check came 3 months later than they said it would. Poor customer service. Not honest. Not helpful. Also my roommate had water leak thru the roof of her room, which leaked onto her laptop, ruining it. They did nothing to help her with this, even though it was clearly caused by them not maintaining the place. Oh and the laundry room is gross and expensive. Makes your clothes smell funny. Don't live here. read more
