Haven't been here in ages, but I'm glad it's still around. Classic Italian was so tasty with the fresh baked bread. Tried the soup for the first time and the chicken noodle is one of the best I've ever had. The chicken is so tender and the broth is so flavorful. Perfect for a cold winter day. They now serve breakfast from 7 to 10 AM with some tasty menu options. Parking on the street is not great, but there is a parking lot to the left with plenty of spaces. read more

First timer here. Got the veggie antipasto salad- amazing! Think all your favorite Italian marinated or roasted veggie combos over lettuce with a balsamic dressing and a side of their fabulous panini bread. I will definitely be back!! Visited on a beautiful Saturday morning...plenty of parking in the lot just beside the building. As I entered, I was kind of surprised at how small the store is. I have seen pictures and I was thinking it was a bigger store. As I entered, I immediately saw the fresh paninis and fresh rolls. The staff was working behind the counter tending to and prepping different food. I ordered a chicken cutlet (plain) with caramelized onion and pickle. I was hoping they offered bbq sauce or ketchup but no go. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza, which looked awesome, as well. As I began to pay for order, I noticed there were a few cookies, canoll's and italian cookies for sale. I bought a chocolate chip and m&m cookie. The prices were very fair and the help was fantastic.....service with a smile! I was able to take a few pics! This place is worth a visit or a drive! I will be back! read more

Strong, solid, classic Italian lunch or dinner spot for takeout that won't have to beg you to come back for more. For the last 10 years, at least, Dominik has been standing as the classic go to Italian sandwich shop in Waltham I would argue. After visiting a nearby College campus, I stopped in this spot to order a freshly cut mozzarella and tomato Caprese sandwich, well cooked eggplant parmesan and a fountain soda. You'll find fresh rolls of bread being made across the countertop as an example of the fresh ingredients they use for preparing all of their foods in-house. During college, this restaurant was considered the best takeout spot for late night studying and it's great to see their doors still open many years later. read more

Ordered Doms for an office lunch and everyone loved it. We had a variety of salads and sandwiches. The menu is on the pricier side for lunch but the food was really good. Well worth driving out of your way for; these are the BEST SANDWICHES IN THE BOSTON AREA. I've been eating here since the mid-2000s. The fantastic house-made ciabatta is really what makes all their panini special (available crusty or soft, toasted or not). I wish they'd teach a baking class! Arguably the best restaurant in Waltham (which is saying a lot when you are comparing to fine-dining legend Il Capriccio). They have other Italian things like pizza, arancini, pasta, cannoli, cookies and soft drinks, but the sandwiches are the thing. Try the Melanzane (marinaded eggplant), Tonno (tuna & artichokes), Manzo (house roast beef), Parma (prosciutto). During weekday lunch hours there will be a line, although it moves fairly well. Order ahead/online and they'll have it ready for you. Also on GrubHub. Some seating inside and outside. Limited free street parking in front. There is also a big lot for Five Guys, Chipotle, etc. across the street, a block west. Or on the weekends for a quick takeout, I'll usually park in the corner of the bank parking lot right next door and no one seems to mind. Went to Dominic's today. I haven't been in Waltham for awhile and had to get lunch. I was so disappointed that this place lost it's Italian charm. The food was definitely nothing like it was when Nonna was in back cooking. The bread is boring & lost it's crunch and flavor. The arancini had no meat or cheese and tasted old & stale. Even the sauce was not good. Noticed how incredibly high the prices were for the quality of the food. Sad to see another local food place go downhill. read more

I came out of my way to Domenic's to grab a classic Italian with no cheese and extra hots. The bread is fantastic but the sandwich was lacking meat and I wish they offered a supreme option with capicola. I really can't complain with the freshness of the ingredients and fair price. They offer cans of root beer Stubborn Soda and some of the new "healthier" sodas as well as your standard Pepsi options. They have little plastic containers of homemade chips as well as Dirty Water. I didn't try any of their sweets including tiramisu and Italian goodies, but they offered a pretty good selection. Definitely a good spot to grab a tasty panini/sandwich. The Parma sandwich is excellent. The real highlights for me are the bread and the imported prosciutto. I'm Italian so I can tell you when it's good! This sandwich was great! Complete with mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, and I believe 18 month aged prosciutto. The bread is fantastic. Baked fresh daily I believe. I'd like some clarity on how aged the prosciutto is and if the bread is baked daily. I loved how white the bread was, you can tell it's special. You'll enjoy every bite! One thing, it's expensive for a sub shop. I get small businesses need to stay afloat and this is how they must do it. I didn't mind paying as much as it was for this sandwich. It's in the neighborhood of $12 for the Parma. I really do recommend going to Domenic's for lunch! Good food! Thank you! read more

First time at Domenic's today and I was more than satisfied with my meal! I ordered online for take-out and everything was ready by the time I got there. I also liked that there was street parking right infront of it. Food: * Arancini ($3.99): risotto balls filled with ham, sopressa, parma, and several cheeses. Their menu says it is is fried to golden perfection and I would have to agree! The outside was perfectly crisp, the risotto was cheesy and well seasoned, the meat was definitely there! The sauce that comes with it is also really good and complements the arancini very well. * Arugula Salad ($8.99): baby arugula, house-dried tomatoes, marinated eggplant, and goat cheese (I added hot peppers too!) Wow this was my favorite amongst the three items I got. The tomatoes were not overly dried, making it easy to chew. The marinated eggplant is nothing like I've had before. It is sweet and tangy and has a great aroma from the eggplant. The goat cheese isn't overpowering either. They give you a lot too! I usually dont like getting salads from restaurants because it is so easy to make at home. BUT, this is such a unique salad and I would honestly go back to Domenics for this salad. * Parma Panini ($11.99): black label prosciutto, basil-marinated tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella. Based on the ingredients, you already know what to expect from this sandwich. But it is so well-done because every component is perfect. The prosciutto isnt overly salty, the tomatoes add a subtle herbiness, and the mozzarella is so supple. I also liked that this sandwich wasnt overfilled with meat. The bread was a little tough around the edges but it was still pretty good. You may think that 12 dollars is a little steep for a sandwich but it is a big sandwich packed with high quality ingredients and flavors. I highly highly suggest the arugula salad!! read more

Domenic's makes great paninis, and part of that is due to their house-made ciabatta rolls. The rolls have a delicious crust with an open crumb, lending a light, airy texture. Some of my favorite sandwiches include the Dom's Special (similar to their Classic Italian but with more Italian cured meats), the Caprese, and the Melenzane (eggplant, smoked mozzarella, basil). I would recommend grabbing the paninis to-go as seating is limited. I have ordered catering from them before and was very pleased by their level of service and quality of food. read more

After hearing about Domenic's for years, I decided to give them a try over the summer during the pandemic. I actually tried them several times over the past few months including via several ordering mechanisms. This review will combine all of those experiences. Ordering through Yelp and even Domenic's website and in person were all tried. While I only ordered once in person, I did try Yelp (via Grubhub app) and the Domenic's site directly. The small store currently limits the number of patrons inside to 4 with clearly marked 6' areas for safe distancing. Obviously ordering inside required paying inside which touch-less card tap is convenient and safe. On-line orders can be ordered for ASAP or a pre-arranged time for pickup. All orders were timely and ready for pickup upon entering the restaurant site. Now the food. The food is made fresh to order. Sandwiches, hot and cold, as well as pizza and other specialities are excellent. They may be best known for their Panini sandwiches and they are available in numerous options hot & cold depending on your cravings. They also feature pastas and salads in many varieties. Don't forget to check out their dessert offerings, too. The tiramisu is highly recommended. Give Domenic's a try; you won't be disappointed. read more

Well... here we are week x of the pandemic and I get a hankering for an Italian sub after seeing my girlfriend get one from the north end. But I'm way out here in Newton. What's a girl to do? CALL DOMENIC'S this was ultimate bliss. The bread, the evoo, the marriage of meat and cheese and hots (slightly sweet and spicy). I ordered the special (with hots and evoo). No regrets. My other friend in Waltham who also saw the first sandwich took one look at mine and said. I'm having that for lunch. Delivery was great price was right. Beware of gift card fraud! I received a gift card for Dom's in early November. I've tried to use it twice. The first time , the cashier didn't know how to accept a gift card; so I just paid for my sandwich. I went back today... and was told that because they have a new system, I cannot use the card without producing a receipt. The card was a gift and I do not have a receipt. The gift giver no longer has the receipt. So, Dom's gets to keep the $) and I'm out of luck. This makes me sad to report because I'm a frequent customer and love their food. read more

I first heard of Domenic's when I was doing an internship in Waltham, and they got it catered for lunch once. I was absolutely blown away. What was this heavenly place called Domenic's with their amazing sandwiches and how come I've never been or heard of them?? You know how you look at a menu and want to try everything, but always end up ordering the same thing? That's the Parma sandwich for me. My friends are sick of me raving about their inhouse baked ciabatta, the fresh mozz, and the prosciutto with the basil marinated tomatoes. I still love this place. But - one of the two dishes I spent a total of $27.00 was really messed up. Eggplant panini featured really over cooked, gluey roasted eggplant in olive oil. I'm crazy about eggplant so this was a disappointment. Next time I was in I had a great sausage, cheese and pepper empanada - to die for ! The tuna panini after my appointment was pretty good, just dressed with too much oil, not enough vinager. I wanted to try the Tiramisu - next time. I still feel the cookies look too sweet and bland.
