It is a beautiful setting situated on acres of open fields. Very quiet. Although near to many things, a car is necessary to get around. I didn't realize there was a hot tub on the premises and I imagine in the nicer weather people eat outdoors and have campfires at night. There were only a few couples staying at the Inn while I was there. The hosts Judy and Kenny are lovely people and kept us well Fed with delicious food in the morning. It's very laid-back with 24 seven coffee set up as well as snacks.

Theresa is a fantastic cook and her breakfasts are beyond delicious (especially the French toast casserole), and Steve is a fountain of information on the area and local sights to see. They helped us set up a fantastic tour. They are such gracious and welcoming hosts that I actually felt like I was staying with favorite relatives! They really go above and beyond for every single guest and they add the personal touch to make your stay very memorable. Having the breakfast meal plated and brought to you is a welcome treat and I loved my interactions with both Steve and Theresa. I will definitely stay here again when we come back to Gettysburg for another history trip vacation. I cannot say enough good things about the Lightner Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast. I was flying solo, so I stayed in the smallest (cheapest) room - Violet Room - and it was nice if not huge. Bed, bath, etc., were really nice. Room does have TV and wi-fi, but I was "on vacation" and did not use them that much. Mornings I went down, grabbed coffee, and sat out on the 2nd floor balcony reading and enjoying the view of the yard. Weather was great this visit, and this was hard to beat! The public spaces in the inn were plentiful on both 1st and 2nd floors, and I felt very comfortable. Gaslight's location is in the heart of Gettysburg, and everything but the battlefield itself is an easy walk. That included places to eat and get ice cream. I preferred this to being farther out, driving around, finding parking, etc. Hosts - Mike and Jennifer - were great, friendly, answered all questions, and helped with anything I wanted. If you are looking for a 9-room B&B experience with other nice people, want to enjoy the heart of the town of Gettysburg, and do not need a mega-hotel, the Gaslight Inn should be high on your list.

Laura and Ron are the most amazing hosts. They saved a piece of history when they chose to take on this house project and they will proudly tour you around the house explaining what was there before. The dedication and resilience they have is unparalleled. They had a complimentary overview of the battle at cemetery hill with a licensed guide and offered cheese and a glass of wine too! We also participated in a paranormal investigation of the house with all of the other inn guests and it was one of the most fun nights I've ever had in gettysburg. We definitely had a bit of activity but nothing that made any of us feel scared or uncomfortable. As far as location goes, it's absolute perfection. It's right in the middle of everything so whether you want to walk to the square, Mr G's ice cream or the Dobbin House, your walk won't be more than 5-7 min! They are also right on the main drag so if you're attending for a parade you'll have front row seats. There is on site parking in the back, which is huge! The rooms are all adorable and cozy, roomy with beautiful bathrooms and super comfortable beds. VERY clean! The breakfast offered is not only plentiful, but delicious! Everything is made from scratch, served hot and changes daily! If I could give this place 10 stars, I would! If you're questioning staying here over other places, do yourself a favor and book it. You will have the most amazing experience and will not want to leave. They make you feel like family!! We have already booked two different weekends for 2026 lol, we're not playin around! We were shown where they put the free cookies for guests, and there is 24-hour coffee and tea available in the main room. After the tour, we relaxed in our time-appropriately decorated room. It was beautiful and very comfortable, with a separate sitting room and exclusive access to a deck. After a great night's sleep in our quiet and very comfortable room.
