Mold in ventilation
Steve D.

Bathrooms have mold and mildew. They don't vacuum well. You have to take out your own trash and go to the front desk for more towel. Shower curtain smelled like flit had never been washed Made the bathroom smell sour. Location is good. Sanitation is very poor

A bathroom that has seen much better days.

While the location is ideal, the "quality" of this hotel is lacking. The rooms are falling apart. Very shabby. The air conditioner seems to have two settings. Not working at all and Polar Ice Caps. The mattresses were sagging. The bathrooms were a mess. The toilet wobbled if you sat on it. The mirror and tile chipped and cracked. The free WiFi is next to nonexistent. The breakfast was bare bones. The final nail in the coffin for me was my autistic son finding a pot pipe, couple of blunts and weed in our nightstand. The at desk person seemed to think just saying "Sorry and I'll talk to housekeeping" was good enough. It took me telling them I would be posting these online before we were comped the room. Only then was our room properly cleaned. It had reeked of cigarette smoke when we checked in. Despite it being labeled a non smoking room. We did use the pools. They seem to be the only thing maintained on property. Would not return. Also, be advised if you stay here and experience the same and decide you need to leave a review to warn other families of such conditions, the manager then calls you at home to complain to you that you left a review. So if you find drugs here, don't bother informing them. Just call the police because clearly they do not care about their customers and their safety.

I don't review hotels but had to with this one. I loved it. Pros: First it's older and well taken care of- it's very quaint. -It has an outdoor and indoor pool. -it has this awesome super creepy cave bar that I loved -it offers rooms with three full beds -we got an early check in and check out is noon! -it has a super cute breakfast house and the lady working seemed to love her job -you can book a bus tour at the front desk -you get one parking spot directly outside your door -it's located across the street of Appalachian bre This place is great!

Worst hotel I ever stayed in-see pictures. There was a roach behind the chair on the carpet-the bathroom ceiling was leaking and they patched it but didn't complete the job-and there was still blue shampoo in the shower when I walked in. I did call housekeeping and they did clean the shower-I think. For the price I paid it was ridiculous!!

Blood and dirt stain on the comforter

Great location. Awesome that it has a pool. There's NO first aide kit at the pool. When we pulled up someone was on the side of the pool laid out waiting for an ambulance. A manager ran by asking if anyone knew CPR!! 1) Managers and staff should know CPR and 2) there should be a first aide kit readily available with a barrier mask for CPR!!! There was what looked like blood on one of the pool chairs The front lobby smells of mold and mildew, very musty. Our room, even though it was non smoking remakes of smoke and even weed one night when we got back. All the vents are caked with dust and cob webs The quilt had a dirt stain and blood stain on it. It just had a dirty feel to it. The staff was pleasant and breakfast was decent.

I stayed at Quality Inn Motor Lodge. It was clean, cozy-comfy and big. The breakfast was top-notch. I`d give it a 9.

Michael, the owner, is one of the friendliest people you will ever meet, as is the staff on site. The room was perfect and so comfortable! This is walking distance to many of the shops and sites around town. We are already planning our next visit for next year! If you're planning a trip to Gettysburg, I highly recommend staying at the Gaslight Inn. I promise, you will not be disappointed!

I was flying solo, so I stayed in the smallest (cheapest) room - Violet Room - and it was nice if not huge. Bed, bath, etc., were really nice. Room does have TV and wi-fi, but I was "on vacation" and did not use them that much. Mornings I went down, grabbed coffee, and sat out on the 2nd floor balcony reading and enjoying the view of the yard. Weather was great this visit, and this was hard to beat! The public spaces in the inn were plentiful on both 1st and 2nd floors, and I felt very comfortable. Gaslight's location is in the heart of Gettysburg, and everything but the battlefield itself is an easy walk. That included places to eat and get ice cream. I preferred this to being farther out, driving around, finding parking, etc. Hosts - Mike and Jennifer - were great, friendly, answered all questions, and helped with anything I wanted. If you are looking for a 9-room B&B experience with other nice people, want to enjoy the heart of the town of Gettysburg, and do not need a mega-hotel, the Gaslight Inn should be high on your list.

A Review of the Brickhouse Inn, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania (in the Style of 1870)…read more During my recent sojourn with my wife to the historic town of Gettysburg, we had occasion to lodge at the esteemed Brickhouse Inn, a house of most commendable character. The establishment itself is of handsome construction, its brick walls bearing the quiet dignity of years well kept. The chambers are appointed with tasteful elegance, and though we have, in our travels, rested upon beds of somewhat greater softness, the comfort of the accommodations was by no means wanting. Yet it was at the breakfast table that the Inn's true excellence shone forth. The morning repast, prepared with notable skill by Mistress Patty and served by Hannah, was of such quality and abundance as to dispel any minor discomforts of the night. Their attentiveness and mastery of the kitchen rendered the meal a delight of the highest order, and I found myself most grateful for her gracious service. In sum, our stay proved exceedingly pleasant, and we departed with a sense of satisfaction and goodwill toward the proprietors. The Brickhouse Inn stands as a worthy refuge for the traveler, offering beauty, hospitality, and a breakfast most splendid indeed

We were even lucky enough to interact with Co-owner Christine Cambell who was also there for the weekend. (If she's there with you, pick her brain!!! She knows everything Gettysburg and is a most gracious hostess.) The property is very well thought out and appointed. While preserving lots of the look and feel of times gone by, it also affords guests with every modern convenience! The location is good. The breakfasts were uneven: one outstanding, one pretty awful (a cold Egg McMuffin and cottage cheese?), and one so-so. But perhaps they had a new or temporary cook, because other reviewers did not seem to find this to be the case. We did not find a book in our room with information? Instructions on operating the thermostat would have been helpful, as it got quite cold the third night. Parking is very generous. All in all, we would return, as this was definitely the nicest of the three B&Bs in which I have stayed in Gettysburg.

The shower took a little while to get as hot as I wanted and the pressure was never great. We didn't partake in the breakfast the next morning, but the set up looked pretty expansive. I saw yogurt, eggs, assorted baked goods, fruit, and a waffle station. Several families expressed interest in the indoor pool, while we were checking in. Would definitely stay here again. It's more than worth the price.
