We wanted to stay at a hotel with some history. I didn't want the typical chain hotel where I usually stayed during my trips. I wanted something historically tied to Gettysburg. Everything was checked out online via Yelp, which was a nice confidence boost. I didn't want to make a mistake and end up with a nightmare stay. Next, the parking and the front desk entrance are at the rear of the building. It has a fascinating history. Throughout the hotel, there are historical paintings of Gettysburg. The restaurant that was part of the inn no longer serves breakfast, so we had to drive out for a bite. However, we planned to visit the battleground early in the morning, so this was no big issue. Also, please ignore folks who repeat what they've heard about ghosts at the Federal Pointe Inn. Besides, historians often write these people off as less reliable, and their accounts are open to individual interpretation. Like the game, you see on TV where folks sit in a circle, and a person would whisper something in the ear of another person, who would whisper it to the next and so forth, and it virtually had no resemblance to the original. Well, that sums up ghost stories. So, don't allow ghost stories to deter you from staying at the Federal Pointe Inn.

This what it should have looked like it's as easy to make as any drink I know

The room was great the hotel service informative and helpful . We went to the pub for a drink . The bar tender didn't know how to make an old fashion not sure what he made for my wife which was a mule but tasted like poison . He put water in the old fashion no bitters no orange peal it was horrid so if you go there order wine or beer lol

I highly recommend Federal Pointe Inn if you need a wonderful place to stay and dine. Their rooms are large and beautifully decorated with antiques, the food was good and very reasonably priced. The hotel and restaurant staff were knowledgeable, welcoming and genuinely enjoyed interacting with their guests. We were a "party of seven" and all of us were so impressed with how well we were cared for throughout our stay.

Destination Gettysburg says the place is haunted. Well, I only knew that after staying there. Did I notice anything strange during my stay? No. What I did notice was a nice private lot for the car. A very comfortable room. I think given the history of it being the Meade School and it being a hotel for I believe only the past 12 years makes it somewhat "new" for an old place. Checking in and checking out were easy. I did make use of the pub on the first floor, which is more or less the basement. Service was very good there. I would say the food, however, was about average. Never having been to Gettysburg before I was not sure where this place would be in reference to some points of interest. If you have anything on Baltimore St it could be quite a walk from here, so you might want to drive or Uber but ride-share availability depending on the time, and time of year, can be really thin.

I stayed in the bridal suite (it was the only suite available) Pros: - HUGE, comfortable, clean bed. 10/10 -Nice big jacuzzi -beautiful shower -lovely private area, far away from other rooms. Private exit onto the street, private entrance into the pub -soaps, shampoos, lotions etc all very nice - towels and consumables replaced promptly daily, all very clean -charming building -friendly and helpful staff! -rooms had a checkers table (what every newly wed is doing on their wedding night, certainly) -coffee and tea served in the afternoon with scones -pub in the basement -the price is very fair for the accommodations Cons: -no breakfast (just coffee and tea) -bridal suite is in a half-basement. The windows are ground level, no view. -bikers were in town, the road noise was a lot a ground level -the carpet is vintage - charming but a bit dated. -the granite tile in the bathroom is SLICK. Be careful! -jacuzzi next to the bed.. in a carpeted area?

Located just a tad on the outskirts of Gettysburg is this gem of a hotel. We had the King room and they assigned us inside the hotel in room 206. The room was very spacious, plenty of storage space, and even had a keurig maker in the room with a large mini fridge. The bathroom was large, and the tub was also a spa. The water was nice and hot, but the pressure could use some work. I did like that there was a night light in the bathroom, so you wouldn't have to use the lights if you needed to use it at night. Mid day they offered hot scones, and all day was a keurig machine with plenty of coffee and tea choices. Ample parking and literally across the parking lot was Dunlap's restaurant which was a good breakfast place. The hotel had a pub, but we never got to try it. Also a Dollar General across the street if you forgot some essentials. Aside from the poor water pressure, nothing really bad to say.

The Federal Point Inn is a fantastic choice. The staff are extremely friendly and very helpful. The rooms are very spacious and exceptionally well kept. The location is convenient to dining within walking distance, not to mention a great breakfast spot just across the parking lot. I should also mention that it's only a 7 to 8 minute drive to the museum in Battlefield, during the fall when we visited. We also took advantage of the pub located in the lowest floor of the building, which is just full of character. I would recommend this hotel without reservation.

The outside of the inn is beautiful. The grounds are well maintained. There is excellent parking and it felt safe. The location is perfect to walk around the shops and restaurants in the downtown area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are huge. The inn used to be a school. They are converted classrooms. The ceilings are very high. There is a sofa and coffee table. A desk. A huge antique dresser. 2 night stands. The king size bed is very comfortable. It had 5 smaller pillows, and they were very comfortable. The bathroom is beautiful. It is very large. It has a large tiled walk in shower and a whirlpool tub. The shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. There is a single vanity with plenty of counter space. The only cons would be the carpet is slightly dated, but very clean and the noise from the street was loud, but if you shut the storm windows it reduces the noise. I would definitely stay here again !!

I was flying solo, so I stayed in the smallest (cheapest) room - Violet Room - and it was nice if not huge. Bed, bath, etc., were really nice. Room does have TV and wi-fi, but I was "on vacation" and did not use them that much. Mornings I went down, grabbed coffee, and sat out on the 2nd floor balcony reading and enjoying the view of the yard. Weather was great this visit, and this was hard to beat! The public spaces in the inn were plentiful on both 1st and 2nd floors, and I felt very comfortable. Gaslight's location is in the heart of Gettysburg, and everything but the battlefield itself is an easy walk. That included places to eat and get ice cream. I preferred this to being farther out, driving around, finding parking, etc. Hosts - Mike and Jennifer - were great, friendly, answered all questions, and helped with anything I wanted. If you are looking for a 9-room B&B experience with other nice people, want to enjoy the heart of the town of Gettysburg, and do not need a mega-hotel, the Gaslight Inn should be high on your list.

I had high hopes for this B&B but it definitely fell short. If you're looking for a "spooky" place this may be it. It all seemed a bit fake to me. I did appreciate the 2 fake fireplaces we had in our room. It hit under 40 over our stay at night, these were great. If you have neck/back problem-bring your own pillows or whatever you need. The pillows reminded me of the deflating hospital pillows. Also, there's a shareable hot tub and we didn't know about it. Maybe because it was off season, things weren't running smoothly? Not sure.

Instructions on operating the thermostat would have been helpful, as it got quite cold the third night. Parking is very generous. There was a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker available to use. The bathroom had this large beautifully lit LED mirror. Room was clean and had brown modern minimalist design. Beds were really comfortable and I think they were new since there was a little sign saying "enjoy our new beds." As a Holiday Inn Express, they offer free breakfast. I think the hotel is in a great location, right behind an outdoor mall, about 25 minutes from Liberty Ski Resort, few minutes from the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center.
