My 20 day quote turned into 5+ months... Then 1+ month and even at 12/22/22, still not right. Still having to deal with issues from Crippen. TRUST ME, avoid this place. I brought my 2021 GMC Canyon to Crippen for an estimate. I drove it there in July 2021 and received an estimate in body damage. I realize it was only an estimate and extra damage found would increase that time estimate. The estimated time of repair on the written quote I received was 20 days. I was also promised a loaner vehicle "no later than a week" when I dropped it off early August. After about 30 days, the vehicle repairs were not finished nor did I receive a loaner car. At that point, I started showing up weekly to check the progress of my vehicle. My vehicle ended up needing more repairs than estimated. Which I understand adds some time to the original estimate, but none of these parts were on back order and just needed to be shipped. In fact, the only parts that were on back order for the duration of the whole repair were the front red tow hooks. This was all told to me by the body shop management during my weekly visits. Weeks turned into months. I was patient and understanding for about the first 4 months. I understand this isn't just simple repairs, but my 20 day quote now is at 5 months. I asked body shop management if I was ever going to get the loaner car they had promised me. They replied, "they sold all of their loaner cars awhile ago". By this time I had no choice but to just purchase a used vehicle. I was running out vehicles to borrow. If had known there was no loaner vehicle from the start, I would have certainly gone else where that included loaner vehicles with their quotes and actually fulfilled that agreement. They lied from the start to get the business. At almost 6 months, I'm notified my vehicle is finally ready to be picked up. It is late December at this point. And upon pickup, I immediately notice a hand full of issues that include: steering wheel not in alignment, dust filled vents, multiple spots of over spray and orange peel within the paint job, some spots not even clear coated, some spots not even repaired at all, passenger side front door rattled like it was full of stuff and sounded terrible, door jam decals were noticeably off alignment, issues with the grill installed, one obviously bent tow hook installed, etc. A major issue was that the steering wheel adjustment was locked up and didn't move other than rotating (basically seizing up) and my drivers brake assist randomly kicked on while I was driving down the highway (no vehicles within 1,000ft of me). The headliner was not installed all the way and had obvious grease hand marks on it. The door way was off alignment and there was damage to my truck cap. I contacted the body shop that following Monday of my pickup date. I was then notified that some of their staff had covid and asked if I could return the truck after the staff returned in about "a week." I dropped the truck off after about a week and I didn't get it back until February 4th... and it still had issues! About 90% of the issues I listed above had not been addressed and in addition, the steering column had been replaced but now had a small tear in my steering wheel. Get this, they just dropped the vehicle off in my driveway with no prior notification and left the keys on my back porch. I eventually filed a complaint with the state and Crippen was found in violation after the investigation. They also demanded I sign a paper before agreeing to rework my vehicle for the 3rd time. I declined at that point. I ultimately took it to Shaheen and they corrected Crippen's errors. There was a significant amount of errors and damage to the tune of an extra $3000+. I reached out to management and requested to speak to the owners. And to my disappointment, I never heard back. It's clear there was little to no honesty or integrity in my vehicle's repair with an establishment that is supposed to be GM certified repair and quality.

Ricky did everything I had asked for, a good rate, good price, fair trade-in value and delivered to my door.

It's still on a temporary tag. To make matters worse, she paid for an extended warranty, only to find out today that it was never even added to her vehicle. She had the car towed back to the dealership, and now they are avoiding her calls. This is completely unacceptable. I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business here to think twice before buying from them. better business bureau is next.

Unfortunately, the situation has now been ongoing for nearly three months without being fully resolved. Shortly after leaving the dealership and beginning the drive home, the vehicle started displaying electrical warning lights and sensor alerts. The vehicle was also leaking oil due to a loose oil filter that had not been properly tightened. When I contacted the dealership about the warning lights, I was told in writing that they "knew what the issue was" and that they had already spoken with their service department about it. Despite that, the vehicle still required diagnostic work at a Jeep dealership to address the problem. There were also issues regarding the spare key. I was told in writing that the key would go out in that day's mail, but that never actually happened. After several weeks of follow-up it became clear the key had not been mailed. While trying to resolve the missing key issue through this location, a staff member even asked whether I would be willing to sign an NDA before they sent payment for the replacement key, which was surprising given the situation. Another major issue has been the warranty paperwork. The warranty was supposed to reflect commercial use with unlimited mileage and a $100 deductible, since the vehicle was purchased in my company's name and is used for work. However, the warranty was processed incorrectly and has required additional time and effort to correct. I have made multiple attempts to resolve these issues directly with management, including speaking with the general manager, Mark, who informed me that the matter had been placed on Simone to handle. Despite that, I still have not received direct communication from Simone to finalize the remaining warranty correction. At this point, I am simply asking for the vehicle and warranty to reflect the terms originally agreed upon at purchase and for the remaining issues to be resolved. I hope the dealership will reach out so this situation can be resolved before I need to escalate the matter further.

To everyone at LaFontaine dealership in Lansing Michigan…read more I am writing to formally express my disappointment and frustration regarding the vehicle I purchased from your dealership. At the time of purchase, I trusted LaFontaine to sell me a safe, reliable vehicle that had been properly inspected and honestly represented. Instead, after purchasing the vehicle for approximately $16,000, I later discovered that it had significant undisclosed water damage and multiple serious issues that should have been identified and disclosed before the sale. Since purchasing the vehicle, I have been forced to spend an additional $7,000 in repairs directly related to problems that existed before I ever took ownership. These repairs created major financial hardship and caused me to lose confidence in both the vehicle and your dealership. What is most upsetting is the belief that these issues were either known by the dealership or should have been discovered during inspection prior to the sale. Selling a vehicle with hidden water damage without proper disclosure feels dishonest and deceptive. I entered this purchase in good faith, believing your dealership stood behind the quality and integrity of the vehicles you sell. Because of this experience, I cannot honestly provide a positive customer rating or recommendation. A customer should never have to spend thousands of dollars repairing major undisclosed defects immediately after purchasing a vehicle from a dealership they trusted. I am requesting that LaFontaine review this matter seriously and respond appropriately regarding the financial burden and damages I have suffered as a result of this sale. I would appreciate the opportunity to resolve this matter professionally before considering additional actions through consumer protection agencies, public reviews, or legal consultation. I look forward to your response. Sincerely, Thomas Davis
